I came to Sukiya because a new store opened downstairs and I thought the food court might be empty. There were 2 customers before me and 1 after me. The number of customers didn't seem to change. I had been curious about the return of the beloved white hair spring onion beef bowl that was mentioned in the news online around 11:30. So, I decided to order the garlic white hair spring onion beef bowl (regular). I was called up quickly while waiting. The garlic was so fragrant and delicious! I don't usually eat garlic at home, so it was nice to experience something new at a beef bowl restaurant. The white hair spring onion beef bowl had a nice flavor from the sesame oil. As I ate, my mouth started to feel warm, but the amount of sesame oil was just right. I can understand why it's loved by fans! Nowadays, there are talks of beef bowl price increases, but Sukiya offers lunch sets for 500 yen and interesting menu options. It was a delightful meal!

It's been a while since I visited "Sukiya". I was running out of lunch options and decided to stop by the food court. They have a limited-time menu, so I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered the "Gyuu Sukiyaki Don (Regular) with Egg Set" for 780 yen. Surprisingly, they don't give you the buzzer thing here at the food court. When I asked, they said, "We can serve it right away, please wait a moment." It seems like they can prepare the food quickly at this beef bowl place. After waiting for a few minutes, my Gyuu Sukiyaki Don with egg set was ready. Topped with egg, served with pickled ginger, and sprinkled with seven spice powder, it was time to dig in! The beef part was similar to a regular beef bowl. Alongside it, there was freeze-dried tofu, shirataki noodles, cabbage, and carrots. The freeze-dried tofu had a nice flavor, but there was only one piece of it. I wish there was one more piece... There was a big sign outside the store promoting this dish, but in reality, it looked a bit underwhelming compared to the picture. The photo showed more vegetables, but in reality, there seemed to be more shirataki noodles. It was tasty, but it didn't have that special feeling.

On August 1st, I had dinner on a weekday and tried the "Unagi Beef for 890 yen". My wife was not home today due to errands. To secure dinner, I went to the food court at Nishi Aeon with my daughter. I decided to treat myself a little and chose the eel menu for the first time. I understand that it's just run by part-time staff and the rough serving style with trays is acceptable. However, what's up with the rice being so soggy (angry emoji). I have been to various Sukiya locations in Hokkaido due to my job, but this kind of rice is a first! It was definitely not something to serve to customers. The eel was delicious and worth the price, but it was extremely disappointing due to the poor quality of the rice.

My child received the Kids' Curry Set. It comes with a choice of drink, dessert (sliced apple), and a toy. My child loves curry rice, and enjoyed the curry rice from Sukiya. It's convenient to be able to easily enjoy mild curry rice for kids at the food court. I wish they offered a larger portion for kids' menu, as my child, who is in kindergarten, eats quite a lot. But he refuses to eat from the adult menu. Thank you for the meal.

I tried it because my child used to eat it saying it was spicy but delicious. It consists of vinegar rice topped with seaweed, plenty of onion slices, salmon, and wasabi mayonnaise. This wasabi mayonnaise is so spicy! It was quite rich even with half the amount of sauce, so it was a bit too strong for me. There was also a good amount of salmon on top, which provided a satisfying texture. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

On 20/04/11, I had "Beef Bowl Regular 350 yen & Egg 60 yen" for lunch on my day off. It was a Saturday afternoon. I visited AEON Asahikawa Nishi store with my family. Before running errands, we decided to have lunch first. I chose this dish as it was the only one I hadn't tried in the food court. For me, beef bowls represent the taste of being away from home. It's the flavor of Friday nights returning to Asahikawa, and Sunday nights alone in my temporary place. It had been about 5 years since my last meal at "Sukiya" in Nayoro. I wonder what made me want to eat it now. Maybe it was because I heard that story the other day... Leaning back and quietly blooming where you're planted is a salaryman's aesthetic. I will wait with determination until the day of the personnel transfer. If I do get transferred... I hope they send me to a town with a "Sukiya" at least (tears).

I am on a low-carb diet, so I choose my meals carefully when eating out. Today, I had a Gyudon Light set at Sukiya. It came with an okra salad and miso soup, which was served piping hot. Instead of rice, there was tofu and shredded cabbage as a base. The beef was seasoned with ponzu sauce. I got the large size, but it felt a bit lacking somehow. Gyudon is always delicious though. The standard sauce goes well with the cabbage and tofu, even though it might increase the carb intake. I thought maybe I could skip the corn, which is high in carbs, from the salad and Gyudon Light. At home, I usually eat shredded lettuce topped with Gyudon.

I went to the New Year's first sale and had lunch at the food court. It was crowded, so I chose to eat at Sukiya where the food was served quickly. I ordered the White Leek Beef Bowl with Umai Shio Dare (¥500) and added a salad set (¥150). The dish arrived promptly and I enjoyed the meal. The beef bowl had a generous amount of white leeks seasoned with a special sauce that had a sesame oil fragrance, along with black pepper. The meat was tender and easy to eat. The sauce soaked into the rice nicely. It was a good deal for the price, with a substantial portion. It was a wallet-friendly choice for my first dining out of the year.

I ordered a regular size of the "Okonomi Gyudon" (customizable beef bowl). It comes with beef bowl topped with spicy mayonnaise, and you can add raw egg, bonito flakes, and seaweed according to your preference. Surprisingly, it also comes with a tool to separate the egg white and yolk. The receipt states that I added toppings to the regular beef bowl. Since there are various options like Wasabi Mountain Beef Bowl at Sukiya, you might also be able to add toppings to it, like adding toppings to the Wasabi Mountain Beef Bowl.

I ordered the regular size of three cheese gyudon. It contains powdered cheese, yellow cheese, and reddish cheese. When I first saw the menu photo, only two of us mistook the reddish cheese for pickled ginger.

While shopping at AEON, I stumbled upon a sign announcing the return of the Garlic Sprout Gyudon at Sukiya. Intrigued, I decided to have lunch there that day. I ordered the Garlic Sprout Gyudon Mini (¥440) with a Salad Set (¥150). The Salad Set included miso soup with wakame seaweed, green onions, and fried tofu as toppings. The salad consisted of corn, broccoli, lettuce, and carrots with a choice of dressing, which I opted for the Japanese style. The portion was surprisingly generous for the price. As for the Garlic Sprout Gyudon, it was topped with plenty of garlic sprouts, providing a satisfying crunch. It had a spicy kick from the diced garlic and chili peppers, enhancing the overall flavor. The beef was tender, and the slightly sweet sauce balanced well with the spiciness. Despite ordering the small size, the dish was filling with a decent amount of rice. Overall, the revival of the Garlic Sprout Gyudon was definitely a good choice. It was a delicious and satisfying meal.

I visited the Sukiya restaurant on the 2nd floor of Ion for lunch while shopping. I ordered the Tekka Don (regular size) with Oshinko set for 800 yen (tax included). The Tekka Don alone is 680 yen (tax included). The dish consisted of rice topped with sliced seaweed and tuna. The presentation seemed like they just placed the toppings on the rice. It's understandable that there are no condiments on the table in a food court, but there was no soy sauce available where the condiments were placed. When I informed the staff, they gave me only one soy sauce packet, which clearly wasn't enough, so I asked for two more small soy sauce packets. There was also no wasabi available. The taste was like cheap supermarket tuna sashimi. Ordering Tekka Don at a beef bowl restaurant might have been a mistake. The difference in price between ordering it as a set with Oshinko and miso soup and ordering it alone was only 120 yen. Hmm, not sure if it's worth it.

I'm at Sukiya in Asahikawa by myself today. I found some money and spent it all, like a fool. Tomorrow, I won't do anything at all, so I just kept buying things, but it took a long time. When I get back, it will be past 9 PM. Me-san is probably tired of waiting and might be asleep. I came to Aeon Asahikawa Nishi store, where there are 12 unlisted shops. I was surprised by that. Among the unlisted shops was Sukiya. I ordered a curry takeout because I love curry. When I heat it up, the color turns a gentle black. It's spicy, but not too spicy, and has a strong curry smell. The curry is a bit bold, but the taste is great and the spiciness is just right. It's a delicious curry, isn't it?

2022.5 Following Gyoza no Ohsho, another outdoor dining experience due to the good weather ♫ It all started with a single comment from Taro: "I don't want to eat at home! Let's eat here." Taro must have enjoyed riding the JR train and playing at the Aeon mall, not wanting to go home. When we arrived in front of our house, he didn't want to go inside. Since it was warm outside and to also get him used to having a barbecue, we decided to have a little picnic in front of our house. So, we went to "Sukiya Aeon Mall Asahikawa Nishi Store." My wife and Taro had brought back masuya bread and Ohsho gyoza from the day before, but I didn't feel like having bread, so I opted for Sukiya's beef bowl. I wanted to eat a lot of meat, so I jokingly said in a high-pitched voice, "I'll have a medium serving, please, just kidding!" The staff replied, "It's not just for show, it's a regular size, ha-han, just kidding!" The beef bowl (medium serving) costs 550 yen. Personally, my beef bowl ranking is "Noya > Matsuya > Sukiya," but Sukiya was delicious too. The ginger flavor really increased my appetite. Maybe it's because I was eating outside with my family. It was a simple but happy Children's Day.
