One day, as I was passing by, I saw a shop that caught my eye. Curious, I decided to walk to Koyanagi and then come back to check it out. It was still before opening time (11:00), so I stopped by after finishing my nail appointment. I tried the "Warabi Mochi Drink (with black honey)" and it was intense and satisfyingly sweet. The owner, who seemed to be a beautiful lady, apparently fell in love with this dessert and decided to open the shop. I also bought three different kinds of croffles to go. I took some close-up photos, but I think I accidentally deleted them. The owner was very friendly and I definitely plan on going back. Highly recommend trying it out! Thank you for the meal.

Upon entering, I noticed there was one table for dining in. I had never heard of Korean sweets called "croffle" before, but after looking it up, I found out that it is a popular Korean dessert made by baking croissant dough in a waffle maker. The menu offers a wide variety of options with different sauces and toppings. As a first-timer, I decided to go with the basic Croffle White Chocolate for 600 yen. It's priced on the higher side for a single serving dessert. The original bar adds a nice touch. It's wide and easy to hold. The size is quite generous, giving a satisfying feeling. It came with a half-cut Oreo (I think) sprinkled on top. Now, let's taste it. Ah, I see. The surface has a slightly crispy texture, while the inside is soft and fluffy, with layers resembling a croissant. The taste and texture blend well together, creating a familiar impression. The parts without chocolate are also sweetened, making it fit into the "sweets" category. With the bar included, it's convenient to eat with one hand.

A specialty store for a Korean-origin sweet called "Croffle" opened in Toyohoka, Asahikawa on August 10th. Croffle is a combination of "croissant" and "waffle". It seems like they bake croissant dough in a waffle maker to finish it. The showcase displays ready-made croffles. The menu also includes some creatively decorated options. I ordered the "Croffle Ice (Strawberry)" (750 yen) and an "Iced Coffee" (400 yen). It took about 7-8 minutes for the order to be ready. The Croffle Ice (Strawberry) had a crispy outer layer and a chewy inside texture. It was served with vanilla ice cream, plenty of strawberries, whipped cream, and strawberry sauce. It was delicious and quite satisfying. The iced coffee seemed to be brewed using a machine. It had a slight bitterness that complemented the sweet croffle well. The shop was managed by three energetic female staff members. This shop offers a rare opportunity to taste the next-generation sweet "Croffle" in Asahikawa!

I received a croffle as a souvenir, which I had been curious about. It was much bigger and tastier than I expected. I tried the plain flavor this time. I would like to visit the store next time and try various flavors.
