Last time, I wasn't very interested in the limited shrimp salt ramen and my acquaintances didn't like it, so I skipped it. However, when I went back, a new limited edition was available. It was around 6:30 pm, an awkward time when it's not quite dinner yet. But since I had a TV appearance that night, I decided to have an early dinner at Yamaokaya. I ordered the Charred Soy Sauce Ramen, which looked promising. The set included half a rice bowl, priced at 1000 yen. The ramen alone cost 880 yen, with an additional 130 yen for half a rice bowl. There was a nice surprise of a 10 yen discount, making it 870 yen in total. The toppings included fried onions, charred garlic oil, green onions, bean sprouts, and chashu pork. I also opted for extra white onions for 140 yen. Additionally, I got bamboo shoots for free with a LINE coupon. The special noodles were described as medium-sized and designed not to be overpowered by the soup. Surprisingly, despite adding extra pork fat, the ramen tasted quite light and lacked the usual punch of Yamaokaya's flavor. It had a more subtle, Japanese-style taste, and the charred soy sauce flavor was not very prominent. The staff, mostly young and unfamiliar to me, may have unintentionally made the soup lighter. The rice, served with a ladle, was delicious and complemented the ramen well, although it didn't have the unique Yamaokaya touch. Overall, this limited edition didn't leave a lasting impression on me. Nonetheless, Yamaokaya's ability to attract a crowd at any hour is impressive.

There were many different things that happened at the Yamagokaya family this time. It was unusual to have lunch at Yamagokaya. Normally, I think it's a regular thing, but for some reason, I tend to go to Yamagokaya more often at night. It's always crowded. The time was a little after 3 o'clock in the afternoon. It was crowded. I wonder why this place is always crowded regardless of the time? It's a mysterious place. It's open 24 hours and the least crowded time is probably early in the morning. The ticket machine has changed. Many things have changed, including the ticket machine. It used to be cash only, but now it's cashless. However, for those who are used to the old way of buying, it's now a bit inconvenient. You have to go back to the menu each time before making a purchase. For those buying for two or more people, it has become very cumbersome to go back to the menu. One thing becomes more convenient while another becomes more inconvenient. So, nothing has really changed. Here is the lineup for this time. It may look normal, but it's actually quite different. Let me introduce it to you. Gyoza for 350 yen seems normal. It was delicious as usual. But on this day, it was a Saturday. And on weekends and holidays, there is a special offer where you can get special gyoza and rice for only 440 yen. Normally, ordering rice costs 180 yen, but with this offer, you can get it for half the price. It's a good deal. Shoyu ramen for 690 yen is just a regular shoyu ramen. I noticed that there were so many big sheets of seaweed. And there was spinach as a topping. Normally, it costs 140 yen. However, I received a LINE coupon this time, so they added the spinach for free, and there was a surprising amount of it. They added so much spinach for free, I was amazed. Changing to extra back fat was another change. I always forget to do this, but this time I remembered. And I asked for extra back fat. Well, this version is definitely tastier. I think the back fat adds a sweetness to it. I would definitely ask for extra back fat next time too. By the way, the back fat was delicious even with salt! White leeks on a separate plate for 140 yen. A friend of mine once ordered leek ramen, but it came with a very small amount of leeks. So this time, instead of ordering leek ramen for 820 yen, I added leeks as a topping. However, this made the total 830 yen, which is 10 yen more. But look at the amount of leeks they added! I have never seen so many leeks on a ramen before. This was another surprising thing. If you can get this much for 10 yen more, then this option is definitely better. This is how it looked. This is what a luxurious leek ramen looks like. This is another surprising thing. This is what a leek ramen should be like. This is clearly different from the leek ramen I had last November. The difference in quantity is huge. I wonder if I can ask for leeks on a separate plate when ordering leek ramen next time. But if they can't do it, it would be disappointing. The thick noodles were the same as always. The taste was normal. Even with all the toppings and extra back fat, the taste was not as strong as I expected. Maybe the slight moisture from the leeks and spinach changed the taste a bit. Or maybe it was the back fat that did it. Anyway, regardless of the various things that happened, this time's Yamagokaya ramen was as delicious as ever. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇ I want to compare people who order leek ramen ◇

I visited Yamagoya to try their limited-time "Shrimp Salt Ramen" which has been on sale since May 15th. The restaurant was quite busy, with about half of the seats filled even though I visited around 6 pm. I ordered the "Shrimp Salt Ramen Half Rice Set" for 1,050 yen (930 yen for just the ramen). The soup had a moderate amount of fat, and the noodles were cooked normally. I also showed my JAF membership card and got a free "Chashu" as a service. It took about 10 minutes to be served due to the waiting line. The shrimp salt ramen had a strong shrimp flavor in the soup, with a noticeable use of "shrimp oil". The ingredients included chashu, seaweed, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The seaweed was from Sanriku, and it paired well with the soup. The noodles were made from whole wheat flour and were slightly thick. I really enjoyed this limited-time ramen at Yamagoya. I was initially unsure about ordering a small rice, but the soup was so delicious that I ended up wanting it. Trying out Yamagoya's limited-time specials is always worth it!

The first visit to Yamaokaya this year. It had been three months since the last visit, which was at the final golf match in Asahikawa last year. It was late at night and I was wondering what to eat, so I decided to visit Yamaokaya. It was so cold. January was cold, and February was even colder with a lot of snow. I wonder what March will bring... The limited menu this time was the aged miso bean sprouts, which has been available since the New Year. They use a different type of miso compared to their regular miso. The dish includes two types of blended miso, plenty of vegetables, and garlic. I ordered the ramen and got a ticket that accumulates points for freebies like gyoza or a t-shirt. I decided to get the gyoza with rice. The gyoza was delicious, with a nice crispy texture. The aged miso bean sprouts dish was quite intense in flavor, especially since I chose the "strong" option. The ramen had a generous amount of green onions as a topping, but I felt that it was less than usual. The chashu was good, but I realized I didn't really need it at that moment. The thick noodles were the same as usual, but they had absorbed a lot of soup, making them darker in color. I forgot to ask for back fat instead of oil this time. The combination of ramen and rice didn't work for me this time, probably due to the intense flavors. Overall, the miso was on the strong side, so it might be best for those who like rich miso flavors to try it during the limited period.

The special gyoza set comes with additional toppings (egg and seaweed) making it even more satisfying. I realized I've grown up as I didn't order rice or get extra noodles (lol). The flavors are rich and the gyoza pairs perfectly with vinegar and chili oil. It's the kind of dish you can keep eating endlessly. However, I savored each bite with gratitude, being mindful of the time. I even left half of the soup, savoring the happiness of this once-a-year season. ★

Reflection meeting. What... you may ask, well, it's about the recent challenge involving the old man. https://youtu.be/ZqQifSfpxoI Well, it's understandable that it couldn't be finished within the time limit. But, to hear excuses about why it crossed over to the next day, under the pretext of asking for them. Please watch the old man's eating style. Watch the first part, the middle part, and the last part in order. Yamagokaya. Why did it become Yamagokaya... because Director Sugiyama had a coupon. Personally, I also wanted to try changing the oil... That's why I thought, "Let's try the Dekamori-... oh, it's not that, huh?" But well, let's achieve the goal of ramen with gyoza. Huh, it's not different from usual, right? No, it's quite different this time. You can't tell from the appearance. Aren't you going to eat it? Director Sugiyama already has his food. I also have mine. But Director Sugiyama hasn't arrived. We waited and waited, but he didn't come. Well, let's eat first!! And when I said that, it seems that these two, senior and junior, have a relationship, where even if you weigh 120kg, you can't eat until the senior arrives. That doesn't matter! But well. Normally, you would say "Please go ahead" when someone is late, right? Shoyu Negi Ramen for 810 yen, and the menu is as usual. I hesitated between miso and salt, but as expected, I chose shoyu. The reason being, I finally, finally was able to say that I changed the oil to back fat. Oh, I finally made my wish come true. Now, let's see how it's different with back fat. This, this is nostalgic for me. In my 20s, there was a trend of back fat chashu ramen in Tokyo, and I used to go eat it often late at night. It's not chashu style, but this back fat. It has a sweetness that is different from regular oil. And it has less of a strong taste. I've eaten many bowls at Yamagokaya, but it tastes completely different. It may vary depending on personal preference, but I definitely prefer this one. Oh, why didn't I change it before? I have to remember to change to back fat from next time. And let's try miso and salt next time. I'll eat it... Why does Director Sugiyama look so displeased for some reason? It's ramen, it stretches, you know! It's normal to eat first, right? Why do I have to wait for you!! And when I said that I'm the director, he got upset. I'm older than you though... And he started eating as if nothing had happened, haha. A good punch from Yamagokaya in the middle of the day. But thanks to changing to back fat, the usual oil doesn't feel as strong. It's definitely easier to eat with a slight sweetness. Finally, Director Shirai started eating. Poor, Director Shirai. The ramen stretched a bit. But, it's inevitable, he seems to have accepted it. He seems a bit thinner since entering the store, or is it just my imagination? His face also looks a bit lonely... He started complaining that there were too few negi. There's plenty of negi. I love this thick white negi. I couldn't eat negi before, but now... Director Shirai ordered Shoyu Negi Chashu, but it was clearly only 1/3 of that. Shoyu Negi Chashu is 1050 yen, Chashu Ramen is 930 yen, Negi Ramen is 810 yen, and Ramen is 690 yen. Chashu as a topping is 5 slices for 300 yen, and white negi is 140 yen. It might have been better to order it as a topping. And now, please give us your excuses. Old man, Challenge Department. Well, it's understandable that it couldn't be finished within the time limit. But why did it cross over to the next day? That's because... um... I couldn't finish eating it. ......... Ugh, not funny at all!!! And he was holding up the noodles, frozen. I didn't ask. Suddenly, I looked to the side and saw Director Shirai. He was eating the ramen quietly. Rather than the director's unfunny excuse, he seemed to be dissatisfied with the fact that there was too little negi in his Negi Chashu. He couldn't accept that. He kept muttering to himself, "Morita-san has so much negi... Morita-san has so much negi..." He was clearly not satisfied with the amount of negi in his ramen. Gyoza is free. In fact, by registering with Yamagokaya's LINE ===========

For some reason, I sometimes crave the ramen at "Yamaokaya." It had been a while since my last visit. Usually, when I go, I aim for the "limited-time menu," and this day was no different. I ordered the "Premium Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen" (910 yen) and also some rice dish. I also got the "Tamago Kake Gohan" (240 yen). I handed the food ticket to the staff. I chose the noodle firmness, oil amount, and flavor intensity as "normal." Oh, I almost forgot...I showed my JAF membership card and got a "flavored egg" as a service. The food arrived in about 7-8 minutes. Starting with the Premium Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen, the soup was flavorful with a hint of bonito and a nice soy sauce aroma. The toppings included chashu, menma, seaweed, and chopped onions, which was a nice touch. I quite liked this ramen. As for the Tamago Kake Gohan, it was my first time trying rice at Yamaokaya. It was simple yet comforting with bonito flakes, egg, green onions, and soy sauce. It was delicious, even though it was past 9 pm and I felt a bit guilty for eating late. But it was too good to resist!

Arrived at the restaurant at 10:47 on Sunday and it was full. Bought 3 morning ramen for 510 yen each and a char siu bun for 340 yen from the ticket machine and waited outside. Sat down at 11:12 and ordered 3 servings of ramen with free gyoza. The gyoza had a light and easy-to-eat taste. The morning ramen was served in a bowl, and the thin noodles from Kyushu were surprisingly good. Overall, a satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

The phone rang at night. Have you eaten dinner? No, not yet. Just hanging out with the Yamagata family for a bit... Actually, I also wanted to eat on this day. The busiest time is around 8:30 pm on weekdays. Oh, the counter is full. Actually, on this day, there was a feature on the morning wide show. Maybe people who saw it visited, and it was full. Actually, I was watching it too... So I felt like eating. The current limited-time offer is this, premium, soy sauce, tonkotsu. The current limited-time offer is this... But... I had a thought. The topping is onions, right? I personally don't think it goes well with ramen. So, I thought for a moment. I want to press this... This comes out from the ticket machine. Absolutely do not press this. It's ultra spicy. What will come out if I press it? I might try a bite with a spoon if the person I'm with orders it, but... I really need to control my urge to press it, or it could be disastrous. Premium soy sauce tonkotsu for 910 yen. In the end, I didn't choose this. But the person I went with ordered this. Oh, there are quite a few toppings on it. Wakame, menma, onions, chashu, nori. When I think about it, it really feels like a premium. I suddenly remembered!! What am I doing? Wasn't I going to use a secret technique next time I went? And I was reminded of that. Actually, at Yamagata-ya, you can change the back oil. By doing that, you can enjoy a completely different taste of Yamagata-ya with increased sweetness. I'll do that next time... I thought. I took a sip of the soup. Mmm, it's delicious. It's sweet, and the back oil is definitely better. And you can also get a lot of back oil made, so you can enjoy the back oil ramen that was popular in the fierce battle area of Koenji in Tokyo when you were young. Next time, I'll definitely change the back oil!! Soy sauce ramen with white leeks. In the end, this time I had a long-awaited normal shoyu ramen. As a LINE member, I got free white leek topping. Noodles firm, soup strong. I felt a bit disappointed before eating. I should have changed to back oil after all, I thought. Nice, white leeks. I used to dislike leeks. Now I love them. Especially the white leeks in ramen are the best. Even if the topping is charged, I want to put it on. The white leeks in Yamagata-ya have a bit of flavor in them. It would probably be delicious even with the back oil combined, I thought. The young people sitting next to me were ordering loudly, asking for a back oil change. That guy is a real enthusiast, haha. In the end, I said it was delicious while eating. It was good as it is. But when I compared the soup and the back oil soup again, I still prefer the back oil for the sweetness. By the way, which one has more calories? Well, actually, eating ramen at Yamagata-ya at night, thinking about that is just silly. Thank you for the meal. ⇒◇Next time, I swear to say "back oil"◇

The addictive taste of Ramen Yamakaya~♬ It's a place that you can't help but keep coming back to, but not to the point of being completely addicted. It used to be a regular spot for me, but in recent years, I only go about 2-3 times a year. It was a Friday night, just before 9 pm, and the place was extremely crowded. Why? Why is it so busy? It was so packed that the parking lot was full and there was no space to park. Unbelievable! One of those people was me, haha. Once again, I ordered the Oni Niboshi Ramen that I've tried a few times before. It's a thick, heavily anchovy-flavored broth that I like, but I always feel like the topping of onions doesn't quite fit. I wish they would change it to something else... By the way, there is a specialized shop for this type of ramen in Tanukikoji in Susukino. This time, I decided to try something new instead of my usual order. A challenging choice for me. The order arrived - Spicy Miso Negi Ramen for 930 yen, with extra noodles for 130 yen, Gyoza for 340 yen, and Rice for 180 yen, totaling 1580 yen. It's a bit pricey for me, especially for lunch, but it's not so bad for dinner. I didn't realize how red and spicy it would be until I saw it. You can choose the level of spiciness when you order, and I chose medium. It's really red... and spicy! I didn't know they had a version with just spicy negi, that was news to me. This was my first time trying the spicy miso ramen, and it was really spicy for me. But the deliciousness slowly caught up with the spiciness. It's delicious, but so spicy. I wonder if I can finish it. I also ordered extra noodles, and the firmness of the noodles was good, the flavor was strong, and the oil was just right. Despite ordering extra noodles, I felt like the amount was a bit less than before. The price has gone up, but the portion seems slightly smaller. The green onions were really good though. I used to hate onions as a kid, but now I love green onions. As for the gyoza at Yamakaya, they are always delicious. However, this time, my mouth and throat were burning so much that the gyoza tasted spicy too. Eating it with rice was the right choice. I managed to finish it somehow, but then I remembered... there was something like this. Ultra Spicy Ramen. When you press the button, a warning pops up. After reading the warning, I gave up on ordering it. It's definitely impossible for me. However, the lady sitting diagonally in front of me was eating it like it was nothing. Maybe I could handle it if I filmed myself eating it... but probably not! I look forward to hearing from anyone who has taken on this challenge! Thank you for the meal. ⇒ Next visit likely at the end of the year, maybe on New Year's Eve? ◇

It had been about half a year since I last visited Yamaoka-ya. Since it's open 24 hours, you can go anytime. But even if you've been to a certain restaurant before, they have a campaign where you can try something new. I wonder what the limited item is today... The parking lot was almost full on this Sunday evening before 8 pm. When I entered, they asked me to wait, which was a first for me at Yamaoka-ya. Gradually, people started to leave, it seems. The current limited item changes quite frequently. Right now, it seems to be shrimp salt flavor. I've never tried this before. They have both tsukemen and ramen available. I realized once again that the limited items here are quite expensive. I ended up ordering too much because I was really hungry. Shrimp salt ramen for 910 yen, with extra noodles for 120 yen. On weekends and holidays, there's a special offer for gyoza rice set for 420 yen, making the total 1450 yen... quite expensive! By the way, the shrimp salt ramen gyoza set is 1230 yen. Adding extra noodles for 120 yen and rice for 170 yen brings the total to 1520 yen. On weekends and holidays, you save 70 yen. If you're a LINE friend, you sometimes receive coupons for free toppings like green onions and chashu. So, I got the chashu added. It turned out to be quite a heavy meal. The shrimp soup was rich and flavorful, with a subtle shrimp taste. The noodles were square and thick, slightly softer than usual, maybe due to some ingredients mixed in. They were less yellowish than usual, maybe because of the shrimp content. People who try this limited item might prefer firmer noodles. The gyoza, as always, had a nice crispy texture. Overall, the shrimp salt ramen was flavorful but lacked a bit of punch for me. Maybe it would have been more impactful with tsukemen. It's been available since April 25th, so it might end soon. If you want to try it, now's the time!

I visit various ramen shops, but sometimes I feel like going to Yamagoya. I checked the limited-time items on their website and this time I wanted to try it, so I stopped by. The limited-time item is being promoted extensively with flags outside and posters inside the shop. I bought the ticket for "Special Bean Sprout Miso Ramen" at the ticket machine and asked the staff for it. I ordered the noodles to be "firm", the fat to be "light", and the flavor to be "normal". I don't want the noodles to get soggy while taking photos, so they need to be firm, haha. Also, I showed my JAF membership card and got a "flavored egg" as a service (or 6 pieces of chashu). It was ready in about 7-8 minutes! The Special Bean Sprout Miso Ramen... First, I took a sip of the soup. The soup is delicious! The soup is made with black ma oil and special miso, giving it a powerful and intense flavor. It is topped with plenty of bean sprouts, leeks, and green onions mixed with seasoning. I saw in the kitchen that they put something in a small bowl and mixed it, I wonder what it is? It has a slightly spicy taste. The seasoning is delicious, and the bean sprouts and leeks are crunchy. Isn't it pretty good? Both the soup and the ingredients are satisfying, and the seasoning makes you want to eat rice. I thought about ordering a small rice, but I didn't this time because I was already halfway through my meal. It would probably be delicious to soak rice in it like soup curry, right??

Yamaokaya, a ramen shop that has a unique taste that may not be for everyone, but surprisingly I visited twice last year. Once in January and once in October. I went again in January this year, so maybe I'll go again in October? The shop tends to be crowded in the evenings, especially as it gets later. Lately, I hardly go during the day. I usually go around 8 pm, but it's always crowded. Seems like everyone is hooked on their ramen. I tried their limited edition premium soy sauce tonkotsu ramen with seaweed from Sanriku this time. However, as is typical for Yamaokaya, their premium versions always have a lot of onions in them. Personally, I prefer my ramen without onions. The crunchy texture of raw onions just doesn't seem to go well with ramen. But if I ask for no onions, I feel like I'm missing out. I ordered the normal soy sauce ramen with medium oil and firm noodles. Usually, I would also order rice and gyoza on the side, but this time I just had the ramen. The chashu pork was tender and flavorful, not dry at all. I prefer the loin part over the belly part of the chashu. The ramen also came with white leek toppings, which I got for free using a coupon as a LINE member. The thick noodles at Yamaokaya have a punchy texture that doesn't get lost in the rich broth. The medium portion of noodles felt quite filling. The broth was so rich that I felt like I needed extra soup towards the end. I might have to ask for a lighter broth next time. Overall, a satisfying meal at Yamaokaya.

New Year. Until January 3rd, it's the New Year holiday. On the 2nd, my family went to a store for the first sale and had a meal. My son wanted to eat at Yamaokaya. It was a bit crowded even though it was past 1 pm. Yamaokaya is amazing. There were three of us, and luckily, three seats at the counter were available, so we sat there. I had decided on the Ultra Spicy Ramen with extra Chashu topping. My wife ordered the seasonal limited ramen. My son ordered the classic Shoyu Ramen and used 5 free gyoza coupons. It took quite a while for the noodles to cook. They were thick noodles. The visual presentation was impressive, like a pool of blood. First, I tried the soup. Mmm, it had a strong flavor with spiciness. I felt like I could finish it. The noodles were Yamaokaya's signature thick and chewy noodles. The spicy white leeks added a nice touch. The sweetness of the egg was a nice break. And the Chashu was delicious, with a flavorful lean meat. Normally, it's physically challenging to finish, but when I order Ultra Spicy, I feel obligated to finish it. So, I ended up finishing it. Mmm, I'm satisfied. Until I got home, I felt like my stomach was on fire. This is amazing. After eating, I felt like my body was slowly being destroyed from the inside. I occasionally enjoy the challenge of this spiciness, but I won't push myself too hard since I'm not young anymore. I do love the Shoyu Ramen at this place. Next time, I'll go for the Shoyu Ramen with extra seaweed. Thank you for the meal.

I had the "Special Mazesoba" with free JAF Chashu topping at Ramen Yamaokaya Asahikawa Kamiinai Store located along Route 12 in Asahikawa City, Kamiinai 5-jo 1-chome 1-25 (costing 850 yen). The dish was topped with green onions, menma, chopped chashu, flavored egg, and plenty of cabbage. There was fish powder on top of the seaweed. I also added the free JAF Chashu topping. Currently, Yamaokaya is offering a 2x service ticket promotion, so now is a good time to visit. This was my second visit to Ramen Yamaokaya Asahikawa Kamiinai Store. The store is open 24 hours, with traditional ticket machines and no electronic money support. The condiments provided include garlic and doubanjiang in stainless steel containers. The spoon types are similar, making it hard to differentiate without opening the lids. The "Special Mazesoba" was introduced on October 18th and is a limited-time offering. It was rich and salty but more manageable compared to the previous limited edition version. The fish powder and cabbage added a nice touch. The thick noodles had a good texture and were satisfying to eat. Towards the end, I started craving rice or extra soup, but I managed to finish everything. It's a limited-time offer, so if you're interested, give it a try! Thank you for the meal.

Wow, it's been a while, but it feels great to be back. I wonder how long it's been... Oh, I remember, the last time I went was ages ago!! But then again, that's always the case, right? When I checked, it turns out it's been since January! Haha, almost 9 months since my last visit. The taste that sticks with you, after 9 months of absence. Or maybe not stuck with me after all? The interior of the restaurant hasn't changed much since the last time I visited, but it's been quite a while, so I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. The current limited-time special is the "demon niboshi" ramen. I remember they had this before. Personally, I wish they would bring back the tsukemen version of this. Speaking of "demon niboshi," I recall a specialty shop opening in Sapporo. I just went there recently. The extreme niboshi broth shop, Tanuki-kita 4-chome branch (Nishi 4-chome, Minami 3-jo, Chuo-ku, Sapporo) | Hitoshi Morita Official Blog "Feeling a Little Hungry?" Powered by Ameba (ameblo.jp). I ended up ordering the same thing there haha. Well, I guess that's what happens when it's been a while. But wait, if it's been a while, shouldn't I just go with the regular option?! I thought that, but my hand just pressed the button for this one. I also got the rice and gyoza set. The rice portion is generous, and the gyoza is perfectly cooked. Nice and juicy. Hmm, quite a feast. This gooey texture is something you won't find at Yamaokaya. Because it's as rich and gooey as their tsukemen broth. The name "demon niboshi" is truly fitting. The flavor is naturally strong from the start, but not overpowering. That's the Yamaokaya style. It really clings to the noodles. More like a mixed noodle dish than ramen. It doesn't even look like ramen at first glance. A rich and gooey broth mixed noodle dish. Is it similar to Kyushu-style yakiramen?? I don't know. The extra char siu was with a coupon. I'm signed up for Yamaokaya's LINE account, so I receive coupons. This time, it was for extra toppings like green onions or char siu. I chose the char siu, but it was cold haha. I tried to submerge it in the soup, but it felt like I was burying it in there. So, I finished this demon niboshi ramen, but my throat still feels dry. Will I go back before the end of the year?? Thanks for the meal. ⇒ The miso flavor with extra green onions is really delicious, right?

On my day off, I had "Soy Sauce Ramen for 670 yen" for lunch. Due to the state of emergency in Hokkaido, all the recommended restaurants were temporarily closed. With only 30 minutes until my next appointment, I had to hurry to find a place to eat lunch. Feeling a bit frustrated, I decided to try this place. In my thirties and overworked, I used to dislike the unique smell of tonkotsu broth that I would smell on my early morning commute. But surprisingly, when I tried it again after a long time, it was actually quite delicious. The rich tonkotsu soup was well-cooked with plenty of fat, the original thick noodles had a nice texture, and the roasted seaweed complemented the soup perfectly. The chashu and flavored egg were also well-prepared. This dish from "Yamaokaya" is a complete and satisfying meal. It's no wonder that there are many fans of this chain. While it may not be a taste that I would get addicted to, I will definitely visit occasionally in the future.

These days, it's tough to find dinner during the state of emergency. After finishing work at 7:20 PM, I hurried to Yamagoya for dinner. They have shortened their business hours until 8 PM, with last orders at 7:40 PM. It's a difficult time. Many people are rushing in, giving the usual atmosphere to the place. I ordered the limited edition scallop tonkotsu shio ramen set with large gyoza. I also added rice and went into overdrive mode. The noodles were different from the usual - flat and slippery. I finished them quickly, then had a second round with gyoza and rice. Finally, I poured the remaining soup over the rice. It was delicious in three different ways from just one grain of rice. I left feeling full. Thank you for the meal today as well!

Today is my day off and I'm heading out to run some errands. But before that, I stopped by Yamaoka House with the phrase "before that". I ordered morning ramen at 8:30 AM, using my JAF membership card for extra toppings, and it was served in just 5 minutes. It's my first time having ramen this early in the morning, and tonkotsu ramen might be a bit heavy for breakfast, but I managed to finish it all.

After finishing overtime, I had a late dinner at Yamagoka-ya. I ordered salt ramen and fried rice. Lately, I've been ordering it without oil, but it almost feels like I'm abandoning the true charm of Yamagoka-ya. However, that's okay too. Today, I enjoyed the addictive taste once again. Thank you for the meal...
