This is a shop located in a corner of the parking lot. I usually buy tea dumplings, but this time I decided to get soft serve ice cream, which also comes with a tea dumpling on top. You can choose between regular tea dumplings or roasted green tea dumplings. They come on a plate, so I decided to stick the tea dumpling into the soft serve ice cream. They also sell tea dumplings separately, so feel free to try them out!

After visiting Byodoin Temple, I bought some tea dumplings as a souvenir on my way home from Uji River Mochi Honpo. The shop is located just east of JR Uji Station, with a factory outlet on the premises. There is parking space for 2-3 cars, which is convenient. The tea dumplings come in two flavors, matcha and hojicha, and as a matcha lover, I chose matcha (10 pieces for 650 yen) without hesitation. The traditional tea dumplings, handcrafted by artisans, have a unique chewy texture. They are not too sweet, with a balanced bitterness from the matcha, giving them an adult taste. You can buy freshly made souvenirs or enjoy them in the shop. Plus, at only 60 yen per piece, they are very affordable.

I received a souvenir from Uji called "tea dango." They are small skewered dango with three tiny balls. They have a very sweet taste. However, they are reasonably priced. The expiration date seems to be around one week. Thank you for the meal.

Traveling to Osaka with my seniors after a long time. Bought these tea dumplings at the Kasuga PA (upward) on the way back. [Summary] Tea dumplings [12 pieces] for 648 yen. Will definitely buy again. The sweetness of the matcha is just right and delicious. Not too sweet, can eat it continuously. Can last for about a week.

Near JR Uji Station, there is a convenient and delicious tea-flavored dango. Tea dango is a specialty of Uji and can be found in many places, with various producers and types. This time, I tried the default tea dango from Ujikawa Mochi. It was a dango loved by many people.

Souvenir shopping for tea dumplings! I went to buy some tea dumplings at a shop that sells them directly from the factory-like building. The parking lot in front of the shop is cheap, making it convenient for visiting Byodoin Temple and the shopping street in Uji. I parked there, and when I was about to walk, I found the shop and decided to buy some tea dumplings as souvenirs on my way back. Matcha and roasted tea dumplings are 50 yen each. So cheap! And they sell them individually, which is great! The dumplings are chewy and incredibly delicious! It was a great choice to buy them as souvenirs from Uji! "I see, I didn't know there was a place like this." Although it's not a traditional tea house, you can sit down and enjoy tea dumplings inside the shop. Located just a short walk from JR Uji Station, this shop sells handmade tea dumplings without any artificial coloring or additives. You can also enjoy them in the shop. The dumplings are soft with a unique chewy texture, and by keeping the sweetness subtle, you can truly taste and smell the natural flavors of the tea. They come in two flavors: matcha and roasted green tea, and despite being small in size, they are quite affordable at just ¥50 per piece (as of November 24, 2018). While there are many cafes and dessert shops around Uji Station and places like Byodoin Temple, if you want to take a break without spending too much money, this shop is perfect. For those who are budget-conscious and want to try a little Uji-style sweet treat, I highly recommend considering this place.

[Menu] Matcha Dango, Hojicha Dango
[Memory] I visited the Ujikawa Mochi main store near JR Uji Station. I bought a pack of 10 pieces, 5 each of Matcha Dango and Hojicha Dango (minimum purchase required). Despite their small size, I was able to enjoy all of them without leaving any. The texture was firm and the rich tea flavor of these traditional Japanese sweets was impressive. Thank you for the delicious treat.

I bought a skewer of traditional tea dumplings and roasted green tea dumplings for 60 yen each. The salespeople were friendly and chatting with each other, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

I thought it was lighter than I expected. I wish I had bought more. I only bought a few pieces separately, so next time I will buy a lot!

If you want to eat on the go, you can purchase just one. For takeout, you can buy a pack of 10, which are vacuum-sealed and will last for about 5 days.
