After enjoying sightseeing in Ise, we moved to Kyoto. Do they really have so many things they want to ask the gods for? (laughs) Kyoto also holds memories for me, as it was a trip focused on visiting shrines. We traveled from Ise by Vista Car, which was a great choice. It's recommended for traveling with children! There are group seats that are almost like private rooms, so we were able to leisurely travel while eating bento with the kids. We also indulged in Ise beer. We visited one of the shrines in Kyoto, Fushimi Inari Taisha, and took a break from the intense heat at Nezameya. It has a low Google rating of 2.7, but it's recommended for history enthusiasts. This shop, where Toyotomi Hideyoshi named the store 500 years ago, still welcomes visitors with the same historical charm. We wondered if the taste has remained the same for 500 years as we enjoyed our meal. Huh? The theory of drinking non-stop (laughs).

They quickly guided me to the second floor, where only Japanese customers were present, allowing me to eat quietly. I ordered the Nene Una set, which might be a bit small for men, but considering walking around and eating later, it was actually good! Thank you for the meal.

★Located inside the approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha. ★The atmosphere has a history dating back to the Sengoku period. It's a famous restaurant, so it tends to be crowded. There is seating with shared tables and it has a casual vibe. We arrived at 11 am and were able to enjoy a relatively leisurely meal because we came a little early. The restaurant's name "Nezameya" is said to have been named by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, derived from his legal wife, Nene. ★Ordered the Nene eel set for 2,000 yen (tax included). The soba broth is delicious ♡ The eel has a crispy skin, and the sauce is quite sweet. The inari sushi is also sweet, with sesame seeds adding a fragrant accent. The mackerel sushi has a slightly sweet vinegar taste.

On the second day in Kyoto, feeling a little hungry, so we decided to have lunch near Fushimi Inari. Since we were at Inari Shrine, we had to try some Inari sushi, so we went to Nezameya. My daughter said it was delicious when she tried it on her school trip. We ordered chicken Nanba udon, Tamago toji udon, and Kitsune udon. We all enjoyed the meal, but my favorite was the Kitsune udon with sweetly cooked fox. The combination of Kitsune udon and Inari sushi was perfect! The Inari sushi had a crispy texture with sesame seeds and sesame, which was a tasty snack. Definitely worth a visit! They also have eel, but we decided to try it at a different restaurant later.

Traveling to Kyoto. I went straight from Kyoto Station to Fushimi Inari and first stopped at Yazameya. I thought it would be crowded, but luckily there was a table available and I was able to get in easily. I ordered the relatively affordable Yazameya set for 2,200 yen. It came with eel, inari sushi, and udon. The inari sushi had a strong sesame flavor, which was delicious, but the crunchy texture might not be for everyone. The udon had a delicious broth. And the eel was incredibly tasty. By the way, when I flipped the menu over, I found many cheaper options listed, like Nishin soba.

After finishing the visit to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, I searched for a famous local souvenir to buy and found this "Inari Sushi"! It seems that Toyotomi Hideyoshi named the shop... quite a historical touch, typical of Kyoto. I visited the shop right away. 1. Exterior, atmosphere, interior of the shop: Located near Inari Station and Fushimi Inari Station, about a 3-minute walk. A splendid wooden building, a standalone house. There is a separate counter for take-out orders. A signboard for "Inari Sushi with Sesame Seeds" is displayed outside. Other examples like Mackerel Sushi and Sukeroku Sushi are also showcased, giving a casual vibe. 2. About the food: Since I wanted it for home consumption, I opted for the simplest "packaged" version of "Inari Sushi" to take home. They accept orders starting from 4 pieces, so I requested 4 pieces of Inari Sushi. They filled the rice on the spot after ordering. Although it requires an extra step, it's nice to have it freshly made. The small triangular shape with the brownish fried tofu is appealing. Upon tasting, I was surprised by the sweeter seasoning than I expected. The fried tofu and even the seasoned rice were sweet. The rice contains plenty of sesame seeds, giving it an interesting texture, but I personally prefer a bit more saltiness and acidity. It may be the Kyoto-style seasoning, but it was too sweet for my liking. 3. Staff service: The take-out counter was managed by a male staff member. He filled the rice, wrapped it carefully, and handled the payment all by himself. He explained the quantity and price clearly, providing polite customer service. There were no particular issues that caught my attention. 4. Value for money: Unfortunately, it didn't quite match my taste, but I appreciated being able to try the historical "Inari Sushi" from this renowned shop. At 600 yen for 4 pieces, it's a bit on the expensive side, but considering the bustling tourist area and the historic reputation of the shop, it seems reasonable. 5. Other observations: The eat-in area was also bustling.

Let's go to Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto for lunch at Shumazeme-ya near the shrine. I had kitsune udon and inari sushi, both delicious. The inari sushi had sesame seeds for a nice texture. It's a great place for a break before or after hiking.

I went to a restaurant for a quick lunch and they were out of udon and eel, so I had to settle for soba instead. I ordered kitsune soba and mackerel sushi. The soba itself was just okay as the warmth of the noodles overshadowed the flavor, but the broth was delicious! The fried tofu was sweet and tasty too. Definitely worth trying out in the west side, the flavors are different than in Nagoya. The mackerel sushi was also pretty good. Overall, a satisfying meal!

Inari sushi was delicious with a sweet taste and perfectly soft rice. The grilled quail was crispy with bones, sprinkled with sansho pepper, and had a rich and addictive flavor. Although the prices were a bit high for a tourist spot, the taste was definitely worth coming back for. Thank you for the meal.

After praying, we decided to go to Suzume and Oinari-san. It was cold, so I wanted hot sake, but they only had quail, which seemed a bit big, so I ended up getting mackerel sushi from Oinari-san. Later, when I looked at the menu properly, I saw that there was a set with Inari-zushi and mackerel sushi. What a shame!

There is a shop along the approach to Fushimi Inari Shrine. I bought a lunch of three types of sushi to go while climbing Fushimi Inari Shrine♪ It included 2 pieces each of inari sushi, mackerel sushi, and rolled sushi. The deliciousness made me forget all about the fatigue from climbing. Highly recommended!

Today, I headed towards Fushimi Inari Taisha and stopped by a nearby restaurant. Nezameya, established in 1540, is known for dishes like eel, soba, and inari sushi. The name "Nezameya" was given by Toyotomi Hideyoshi to commemorate his wife Nene when he visited the restaurant. The place was bustling with people who had just visited Fushimi Inari Taisha. I ordered the Tori Nanba Soba, which came with large pieces of chicken and Kujo negi in a rich broth. The soba was soft and white, with a strong dashi flavor. The chicken was flavorful and paired well with the soba. I enjoyed the meal in the lively and welcoming atmosphere of this historic restaurant.

Nezameya 2021/10/2 KUMA Survey (Daily Use) (80☆Excellent:/60◎Good/50◯Pass/40△Satisfactory) (Taste: 60%: Other 40%) ■ Overall Rating 37/100 points (Taste: 40 points) A lunch spot at Fushimi Inari that you can't help but enter because of the smell of eel! ■ Overview I came to visit Fushimi Inari and searched for a delicious-looking restaurant nearby on Tabelog, which led me to visit "Nezameya" here. The storefront was grilling eel and had a nice vibe, so I decided to go inside. The interior of the restaurant has a Japanese-style udon/soba shop feel, with tables made of Japanese-style wood lining the open space without partitions. The first thing that surprised me when I looked at the menu was the prices, which were tourist prices. Even as someone who considers themselves a Kyoto regular, I found them to be quite high. I was considering the grilled eel, but the price for one tail starting at 5,800 yen made me think twice... Well, this seemed more reasonable, but the shrimp tempura udon for 1,500 yen and the Asahi beer for 600 yen reminded me of the prices at Rian in Shirokanedai (a soba shop). Now, for the food... Hmm! It's just average!... Well, this kind of thing happens in tourist areas. I spotted a shop nearby that sells hand-made soba. I'll try eating there next time. ■ Ordered Dishes/Price/Taste/Cost Performance □ Inari Sushi (7 pieces) 1,050 yen/◯/× □ Nezameya Set (Mini Eel Bowl + Fox Udon) 2,200 yen/△/× □ Beer (Asahi Medium Bottle) 600 yen/△(lukewarm)/◯ ------------Always Harsh Detailed Evaluation----------- ■ Usage Scene Banquet◯: Family◯: Couple◯: Alone◯ ■ Atmosphere & Service of the Restaurant 40/100 points 8pt (4 points pass, 5 points acceptable) □ Atmosphere The atmosphere is like a Japanese-style udon shop, and it's bustling during lunchtime. The distinctive heavy wooden tables and chairs are characteristic. The interior is an open space without partitions, with a lot of posters stuck on the walls (laughs). It can't be denied that it feels like an old-fashioned touristy lord business udon shop. → The wording of the posters is not good. The aggressive business sense is off-putting. □ Service The service is average, but considering the prices, it's below par. Infection control is limited to disinfection at the entrance. Cash only policy. The staff wear matching black T-shirts. ■ Detailed Evaluation of the Food 40/100 points 24pt □ Inari Sushi A typical Kansai-style inari sushi with a triangular shape, a little less rice, and a prominent sweetness of fried tofu. It has sesame seeds mixed in, which gives it a nice texture. This one is delicious, as expected from a shop located on the approach to Fushimi Inari. □ Udon Just a regular udon. It has a slightly sweet taste with a Kansai-style broth. It reminded me of Udon no Imai. □ Eel Bowl The eel bowl was drenched in sauce, and the eel was fully soaked in the sauce, giving it a well-done feel. Hmm, the amount of eel is about 1/4 tail, so it's on the smaller side. - The eel sauce has a salty sweetness. - The eel is Kansai-style, but it feels like the fat has been removed, giving it a firm, sugary taste. ■ Cost Evaluation 25/100 points 5pt It's a typical tourist price. The eel is priced at the same level (or even higher) as Daikokuya Unagiya, which is well-known in Kyoto, but the taste is not that great. The balance between taste and price is extremely poor. However, it's still better than the ramen shop in Atami.

Challenged myself with the Higashiyama Trail in Kyoto with friends! Climbed a mountain in Arashiyama the day before and was exhausted, but the beauty of nature captivated me so I decided to climb a mountain in Fushimi. I had been to Fushimi Inari a few times before, but realized I had only seen the surface. The broth really soaked into my tired body! However, it was expensive and the menu was difficult to read in three languages, but the broth was delicious. It went perfectly with the inari sushi. When you think of Fushimi, you think of Fushimi Inari! Fushimi Inari is known for the Inari shrine. It's a historic place, so be sure to visit. It opened in 1540!

I went to Kendon-ya because it was crowded. Although the lunch rush was over, it was full and I got in at the right time, but it started to line up as I was eating. The udon had plenty of ingredients and was delicious.

Located on the corner of the intersection between Honmachi Street and the procession path of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, this restaurant is a quaint and charming establishment with a traditional atmosphere. The menu mainly consists of udon and soba noodles, along with offerings such as inari sushi and rice bowls. The inari sushi set includes seven pieces served in a dish with sweet vinegar ginger on the side, priced at 1050 yen. The fried tofu pouches are simmered in a large pot to a glossy finish, and the sushi rice is mixed with black sesame seeds and hemp seeds. The rice has a mild and smooth flavor with a crunchy texture from the hemp seeds. The fried tofu absorbs the sweet and savory broth well, enhancing the gentle umami flavor of the sushi rice. Each order of inari sushi is freshly prepared, with a perfect balance of soft tofu pouches and rice. The restaurant's name was inspired by Toyotomi Hideyoshi's visit to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, naming it after his wife "Nene." The restaurant is always bustling with a line of customers, popular among visitors to Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine.

Visit: October 2020 Overall rating: 3.53 points Reviews: 155 Yesterday, I finished work in Osaka and today I have a day off, so I went sightseeing in Kyoto where I met up with my wife. The first place I wanted to visit was the Senbon Torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha, which is a popular spot among foreigners, but due to the influence of the coronavirus, there were hardly any foreigners around, making it easy to take photos and videos. On the way back, we had a late lunch at "Nezameya," which is the highest-rated restaurant in the area. When you come to Inari, you have to try the "Inarizushi," which had a good balance of sesame flavor, rice firmness, and acidity. The "Oyakodon" was my first time trying Kyoto-style Oyakodon, which was different from the ones I've had in the Kanto region. It was more like a porridge, with a mild flavor typical of Kyoto and a rich dashi taste, which was delicious. However, it's a shame that both the "Inarizushi" and the "Oyakodon" were a bit lacking in terms of value for money. I guess it's inevitable in a tourist area. [Food] - Inarizushi (1080 yen) - Oyakodon (1000 yen)

Tamago toji udon for ¥800, 2 pieces of inari sushi. It was past lunchtime, so there were only 2 other customers. The udon was at tourist spot prices, but I liked the simple soup. I prefer the egg to be a bit more fluffy. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. 5.3

I visited Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto and stumbled upon a restaurant that I wanted to go to beforehand, but it was unexpectedly closed on irregular days. I ended up going in and ordered the set meal with dried sardines soba. The dried sardines alone were delicious and went well with the beer. The broth had a gentle Kyoto flavor that was very enjoyable. The set also came with delicious inari sushi, with a flavorful broth and plenty of sansho pepper and sesame seeds on the rice. Even just the inari sushi was worth trying. The staff at the restaurant were very kind and welcoming, despite the many tourists passing through. It was a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

I have visited Fushimi Inari Taisha many times, but this restaurant was a first-time visit. I ordered the eel bowl set, and the eel was served promptly. The eel was good, but the rice was extremely moist, almost like porridge. Some people may like this texture, but I personally do not. As a result, I ended up eating mostly the eel and leaving most of the rice uneaten. I wanted to return the plate clean, but I had to give up. The liver soup was like a basic soup with green onions and liver. It's a tourist area, so I guess it's to be expected. The price was 2200 yen.
