I tried a matcha-flavored dorayaki from a traditional Japanese confectionery shop in Uji, Kyoto. The dorayaki had matcha kneaded into the dough, and the red bean paste filling was also delicious with a subtle flavor. The combination of the matcha-flavored dough and red bean paste was excellent, making it a delightful treat.

I received a souvenir from Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture. It is a "Takumi Uji Ayana" dorayaki made with wasanbon sugar. The appearance is ordinary, but it is tightly sealed around the edges. You can't see the filling inside. When you cut it open, you find a moderate amount of chunky red bean paste. The wasanbon sugar is kneaded into the dough. The texture is not dry, and the dough has a gentle sweetness. The red bean paste is also mildly sweet, with an elegant taste. It's a dorayaki that truly feels like Kyoto, and it was delicious. It's a souvenir that I would be happy to receive. Thank you for the treat.

Craftsmanship Uji Ayana Intense "Matcha Dorayaki was very delicious. This time, only a simple photo.. I would like to take a photo again if there is another opportunity. From the website: Inheriting the traditional taste of Kyoto Uji. We have put the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship into sweets that are finished with carefully selected ingredients. Located at the foot of Uji Bridge, we sell handmade Kyoto confectionery that embodies Kyoto traditions and seasonal creations, as well as sweets using stone-ground matcha from the tea master Kugoro Shimooka's tea garden in Uji Tawara-cho.

"Baumkuchen made with high-quality matcha from Uji. Its name is 'Rikyu,' a Kyoto-style name. Even Sen no Rikyu would be surprised (laughs) because it's a Baumkuchen (laughs). It's not too sweet and delicious, but it would be nice if there was a bit more matcha flavor. Since it's made with high-quality matcha, they probably can't use too much."

On this day, I went on a mini trip to Kyoto♡ I stopped by a service area on the way back and got some souvenirs. I was drawn to a fancy-looking box of warabi mochi, which I love so much. When I opened the box, there were two packs of green warabi mochi inside. I sprinkled some matcha powder on top and enjoyed it. It had a sophisticated taste with the matcha flavor. I also tried another pack as it is, and it was delicious. The warabi mochi was soft and slightly sweet, very easy to eat. My daughter also seemed to enjoy it. Thank you for the enjoyable time on the mini trip.

I received a gift of two pieces of matcha warabi mochi. The warabi mochi itself is sweet and has a jelly-like texture. The matcha kinako powder is not too sweet and has a delicious matcha flavor. Surprisingly, it can last for a while, so I plan to savor it slowly.

With Sanbon sugar dorayaki ☆3: A dorayaki made with dough kneaded with Sanbon sugar and filled with red beans from Hokkaido. The filling is made with coarse red bean paste cooked with Ba-in sugar, enhancing the flavor of the red beans, and the elegant sweetness of Ba-in sugar can also be felt, making it a deliciously not too sweet taste! The dough contains a small amount of Sanbon sugar, about 3% in ratio, giving a subtle sweetness... Energy: 212kcal.

I purchased the warabi mochi from Takumi Yujiro Sainae. When I opened the package, there was only one large piece inside. It would be difficult to eat it outside without a knife or fork to cut it. Other than that, I think it was a good purchase. The matcha flavor was strong and very delicious.

Uji Matcha Dorayaki ☆3.3 This dorayaki is made with a dough incorporating matcha from tea master Shimooka Kyugoro, who has won the Emperor's Cup and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award eight times. It is filled with red beans from Hokkaido. The rich aroma of Uji matcha is delightful, with a smooth and mellow taste without any unpleasant bitterness. The fluffy dough is not dry and is easy to eat. The attention to detail extends to the red bean paste, which is cooked with coarse sugar to enhance the flavor of the red beans and provide a refined sweetness that is not overwhelming. The only improvement would be to have a bit more texture in the red bean paste. Energy: 222kcal.

I bought and ate fresh Yatsuhashi at Fujigrand Kochi. It cost 594 yen for a box of around 10 pieces. The manufacturing company was from Uji City instead of the usual Kyoto, so I looked it up online and found out that they sell confectionery using Kyoto-style half-dried sweets and stone-milled matcha. It's an ideal Japanese confectionery, isn't it? The green matcha-flavored fresh Yatsuhashi was the most delicious I've ever had. I love matcha flavor so much that I even ordered matcha-flavored ice cream. They also seem to sell warabi mochi.

My daughter loves warabi mochi, so I often buy it for her. This time, I bought Uji Ayana's warabi mochi. It is made with matcha from Shimoka Kyugoro Tea Garden. It comes with matcha, kinako powder, and black honey. The scent of matcha is soothing. It is a delicious warabi mochi.

Senior and I went on a bullet tour in Osaka. I bought a souvenir at the Toga SA on the way back because it caught my eye. [Summary] 2 packs of Wasanbon Hon Warabimochi for 972 yen. Each pack contains individually wrapped warabimochi, kinako powder, and black honey. The warabimochi is not pre-cut and measures 90x70mm with a height of 10mm. It has a good toothfeel, not too chewy, more like a gooey agar texture. The kinako powder has slightly large grains and a rough texture, which is disappointing. The warabimochi and kinako powder are subtly sweet and elegant. The black honey is a typical rich one. The expiration date is a little over a month. It may not compare to Rakusho's warabimochi, but considering the expiration date, it's satisfying.

I found a shop on my way back from Byodoin Temple, which seemed to mainly sell sweets centered around matcha. I later learned that they have a wide variety of sweets, including famous regional specialties. I didn't know it was such a proper shop, but I stopped by because their hojicha dorayaki was only 50 yen. They also had dorayaki, Baumkuchen, and rusk made with matcha. I had the hojicha dorayaki for breakfast the next morning. The hojicha flavor wasn't very strong, but the dorayaki was moist and delicious.

I received this as a souvenir from Kyoto. When it comes to Kyoto Uji, it's all about tea, and this is Uji matcha warabi mochi. First, chill it in the refrigerator for a bit before enjoying it. When you open the pack, you'll find a large piece of warabi mochi. Cut it into bite-sized pieces, sprinkle the included matcha kinako powder, and enjoy. The cold warabi mochi with the matcha flavor spreading throughout your mouth is quite delicious. However, the matcha flavor is a bit too strong, so maybe the kinako powder wasn't necessary? (laughs)

On the way from Uji Station to Byodoin Temple, there is a place called "Takumi Uji Ayana" where many shops line up, filled with tea and Japanese sweets. There are many tea shops in the area, so it's easy to be drawn to green tea and matcha. It's conveniently located at a corner, making it easy to spot. I decided to take a peek and the matcha dorayaki caught my eye. I purchased one for 130 yen. The matcha-flavored dorayaki had a nice balance of bitterness from the matcha and a hint of sweetness from the red bean paste. It was delicious.
