I made a reservation for Sunday night and visited the restaurant. The place was not very crowded, almost didn't need a reservation. I arrived early but was seated right away. I ordered the pork cutlet, large scallop fry, pork cutlet, and large shrimp fry. The pork cutlet was like a mille-feuille cutlet, lacking in flavor, just fried food. The scallops were quite ordinary. The chawanmushi and miso soup were a bit bland. Overall, it's not a restaurant I would go out of my way to visit.

I passed by this place on my way to Kazutaba Town and decided to come back to eat. I ordered the daily lunch special, and the tempura was crispy and delicious. There were four different dipping sauces, so I didn't get tired of the taste. When my mouth felt greasy, the chawanmushi helped refresh my palate. It did a great job! Thank you for the meal.

On December 1st (Wednesday) around 11:30, I visited here. I had been wanting to visit for a while but never had the chance, always putting it off. Recently, a friend of mine found a delicious sweets shop in Uji Tahara and has been going there almost every week, so I've been coming along more often. Finally, I had the opportunity to visit this time! It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Today, I visited several places starting from Uji Tawara to Kazuracho, then Minamiyamashirocho, and finally back to Uji Tawara after visiting the Kame no Yu in Soni Kogen, Nara Prefecture. The Kame no Yu in Uji Tawara is very popular, even though it is located in a remote area. I had to wait in line for a while to park my car and then enjoyed the slightly slimy hot spring water with a pH of 9.6. I had planned to visit Soni Kogen afterward, but the traffic was so bad that I decided to give up and head home. On the way back, I stopped for dinner at a restaurant for the first time. The interior was beautiful, and I ordered the special loin cutlet set with 150g of meat, which was delicious. I ran out of sauce, grated ponzu, curry salt, and plum salt sauce, but the staff kindly gave me more. The chawanmushi had a generous portion. The Kame no Yu in Soni Kogen was fantastic.

Today, I visited a job site in the mountains of Sagara-gun, Kyoto Prefecture with two colleagues. It was a challenging location to reach, but with a driver, it was not too difficult. After finishing at the site in the afternoon, we searched for a place to have lunch. There were no restaurants or even convenience stores nearby, but the driver suggested a tonkatsu restaurant he had visited before. It was a bit pricey for lunch, but he assured us it was delicious. We arrived at a clean and somewhat stylish restaurant in the middle of the mountains. The menu had various set meals, and I decided to order the "Special Pork Cutlet Set 150g" as recommended. The food took about 10-15 minutes to be served. The pork cutlet looked delicious, and it came with three different sauces to try. The appearance was promising, and the taste did not disappoint. The crispy coating and juicy meat were enjoyable, and even with a loose tooth, I had no trouble eating. I regretted not ordering more rice as the 150g cutlet was filling. Overall, it was a satisfying meal in an unexpected location. I thanked the driver for recommending the restaurant.

I had passed by this restaurant many times before but had never actually gone in. Today, I decided to go in with a couple of friends. We ordered the "150g Cheese Topped Pork Cutlet Set" and although it took a while to come out, it was well worth the wait. The breading was crispy, the meat was tender and juicy - my friend and I couldn't help but exchange looks of satisfaction (laughs). It was delicious! There were four different condiments provided - rock salt, curry powder, grated soy sauce, and sauce - and all of them paired well with the dish. It was definitely worth it. This is one of the best pork cutlets I've ever had. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended!

The family went out together on the last day of the four-day weekend. The weather was rainy on and off. They arrived before 1 pm and the restaurant was about 70% full. The parking lot and the restaurant were quite spacious, with a ramp at the entrance. However, there were large steps inside and to the restroom. The family ordered the "Special Fillet Cutlet and Large Shrimp Fry Set," "Special Fillet Cutlet and Black Wagyu Croquette Set," and "Special Fillet Cutlet with Melted Cheese on Top." The child was very happy with the food and ate eagerly. The fillet cutlet was thick and satisfying, but it was made by stacking two thin fillets together, so it tended to fall apart. The fresh breadcrumbs absorbed a lot of oil, making the stomach feel heavy early on. The prices were somewhat high, but the portion was not sufficient for middle-aged diners. They were hoping for the rainy season to end soon!

Kyoto seems to be a place where you can enjoy not only ramen but also hearty tonkatsu. While driving towards a client, I stumbled upon a place while searching for lunch. The exterior looked like a cafe, but to my surprise, there was a sign for tonkatsu. Feeling hungry, I immediately entered. The parking lot was spacious, which was convenient. The interior had a stylish atmosphere with no traditional Japanese elements. The kitchen was not visible, and the cooking sounds were not audible, showing consideration for the customers. The layout with only table seats was like a hidden gem cafe. I ordered the "Rosukatsu Gohan" which was the top menu item. I chose the 150g option. It was unique to be able to choose between 120g, 150g, and 180g. Considering my stomach, I added grated daikon radish as a topping. Like a typical tonkatsu restaurant, rice, miso soup, and cabbage refill were free. Alright! The 150g tonkatsu was quite large and thick. The grated daikon radish on top looked like snow. It was delightful to have rice, miso soup, and chawanmushi in the set, typical of Kyoto. In the center of the set, there were four types of sauces - curry salt, grated soy sauce, two types of tonkatsu sauce. They also provided ponzu, but I wasn't sure if it would go well with the tonkatsu covered in grated daikon radish. The meat itself was delicious and cooked perfectly, so it was tasty. However, the grated daikon radish topping may have been unnecessary. I removed the radish and combined the tonkatsu with the four sauces, and it was indeed delicious. I should have consulted with the staff about the topping. Thank you for the meal. It was very delicious. The sesame dressing was also great.

Located in the Yamashiro region of Kyoto, near the border of Uji Tawaramachi and Joyo City, this tonkatsu restaurant is along National Highway 307. The restaurant has a stylish and clean interior with a spacious parking lot. During a visit around 8:30 PM, there were only two groups of customers. The menu offers a variety of tonkatsu set meals ranging from 1300 yen to 2300 yen, as well as individual fried items. I chose the "recommended set meal" which included pork cutlet, shrimp fry, crab cream croquette, and giant clam fry. The dishes were served with chawanmushi, miso soup, pickles, and rice. Rice, pickles, and cabbage are free for refills. The tonkatsu had a crispy texture with four different condiments to try. The other fried items were served with tartar sauce. The tonkatsu was a bit dry, but the overall volume was decent. The shrimp fry could have been a bit more firm. The croquette and clam were tasty, but overall, the frying seemed a bit excessive. The dressing for the cabbage seemed lacking. The chawanmushi was light in flavor. Although the price felt a bit high, the tonkatsu was decent, but overall, it may not have met expectations.

I ordered the pork cutlet. You can enjoy changing the taste with salt, grated radish, and sauce. You can get unlimited refills of cabbage and rice. It was delicious.

On the way to Byodoin Temple, I was captivated by a large window with the word "katsu" written on it. I decided to stop by the restaurant. Inside, there were paintings displayed, giving it a unique atmosphere for a tonkatsu restaurant. It was around 1:20 pm, past the lunch rush, but the waitstaff seemed very busy. I ordered the Special Pork Loin Katsu, which came with a large portion of cabbage (refillable), rice, miso soup, pickles, sauce, grated ponzu sauce, rock salt, and curry salt dipping sauce. The katsu was crispy and delicious, although I felt it was slightly over-fried. It would have been better if it was juicier. Overall, it was tasty when combined with the side dishes. However, the staff seemed excessively busy, and after paying, there was no "thank you" or "you're welcome," which left a bad impression. The kitchen staff must have a tough time with the overwhelming workload in the front of the house.

Unfortunately, it was just a regular tonkatsu set meal restaurant. Thank you.
