There were many foreigners there, and my daughter was fascinated by a foreign baby nearby (lol). The restaurant has a good number of seats, so turnover is relatively quick, especially if it's not peak hours. My daughter ordered the Roast Steak Donburi with cola, while I ordered the Momo 100g Meat Mabushi set. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was calm and relaxing. Our food arrived soon after ordering, and they explained how to eat it. The meat in my daughter's Roast Steak was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, but she couldn't finish it all by herself... As I prefer lighter dishes as I get older, the Momo set was just right for me. I stopped by for lunch on my way back from Izumo Taisha. I was able to get in right away as it was not crowded. I ordered the 160g beef bowl with yudofu. It was very delicious and warmed both my heart and body. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Arashiyama.

Located on a large street on the way to the bamboo forest path from Togetsukyo Bridge, this shop is slightly set back from the street. When I visited around 1 pm, I only had to wait a few minutes before being seated, so it seemed like the peak time had passed. However, the place was always close to full. While the steak bowl seemed to be their specialty, I wanted to enjoy yuba and yudofu since my stay in Kyoto was short, so I ordered the "Japanese beef yakiniku bowl (with yuba sauce) and yudofu set." It came with side dishes and miso soup with tofu and fu, which left me very satisfied. The seating was a bit close together, but the calm atmosphere of the restaurant with a view of a large garden was lovely.

I reserved the Wagyu beef and Yuba (tofu skin) in a thick sauce set meal with Yudofu (tofu hot pot) for ¥2690. The Wagyu beef with Yuba was delicious with a thick texture. It came with side dishes like miso soup and kinpira gobou, so I didn't get tired of the Wagyu beef flavor and was able to finish it all. The Yudofu had a gentle taste and was delicious.

I had the Wagyu and Yuba rice bowl set with Yudofu for 2750 yen including tax. This dish is perfect for those looking to experience the true taste of Kyoto. The Wagyu beef was seasoned slightly on the stronger side. The tofu in the Yudofu was delicate and delicious. However, the restaurant seemed to have many foreign customers, especially from China, who were a bit loud, so it may not be suitable for those who are bothered by loud noises.

Visited with my family on Thursday, December 8th, with a reservation for 2 people. We decided to choose our menu after arriving at the restaurant, so we only reserved seats. Arashiyama Kijuro is located just a few minutes away from Togetsukyo Bridge. When we arrived a little before our reservation time, there were about 10 groups of walk-in customers waiting near the entrance. It might be better to make a reservation during peak seasons like summer or winter. Upon entering, we were asked to sanitize our hands at the register. Then we were shown to our seats. Once seated, the staff brought us hot towels and tea in small cups. Looking at the menu, we ordered the popular "150g Wagyu Beef Rump Steak" and my family ordered the "120g Wagyu Beef Sirloin Steak." After placing our order, the dishes arrived after a short wait. We enjoyed looking at the garden, drinking tea, and the wait was not boring at all. The "150g Wagyu Beef Rump Steak" priced at 3,630 yen (including tax) was delicious, with a slightly red and meaty steak laid over white rice. The Japanese-style sauce with Arima sansho pepper seeds was a perfect match for the steak. It was delicious on its own, but also recommended to try with wasabi on top to change the flavor. At first, I was worried about the generous portion, but I couldn't stop eating and finished it in no time. The view of the garden from the seat and the calm atmosphere made it a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal. I visit Kyoto often, so I would like to revisit this restaurant. It was delicious. If you come to Arashiyama, this is a restaurant you'll want to visit again! The approach to the restaurant is very atmospheric, climbing up the slope felt luxurious and to my liking. I had a small child with me in a stroller, but the restaurant was spacious enough and not too quiet, which was nice. Even if the child was a bit fussy or made some noise, I don't think it would be bothersome. I chose the meal with Yudofu (tofu hot pot), and the recommended pork loin was delicious! The prices were reasonable and very fair, which I liked. There isn't a diaper changing table in the restroom, but the restroom itself was spacious, and I was able to change diapers there with the stroller.

After finishing work, I went to Arashiyama for lunch. It was a weekday afternoon, but there were quite a few people. I decided on a restaurant based on the delicious-looking signboard! I ordered the Grilled Chicken Steak Set (with Yudofu, Kinpira Gobo, Jako, Shibazuke, and Akadashi). Look at the photo - this Grilled Chicken Steak looks so delicious... and it was! The rare grilled chicken and sauce were exquisite. The Yudofu had a nice sweetness to it, and the Kinpira was subtly seasoned, very Kyoto-like. It was delicious and the price was around 2900 yen, so it was great value for money! The ambiance inside the restaurant was nice, and the view of the courtyard from inside had a Kyoto-like atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for families or dates. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant for lunch with my family. It is located on the right side as you walk straight while looking at the Randen Arashiyama Station on your right. The restaurant is situated along the street, with the entrance a bit hidden behind a pathway (private property?). The interior has a calm atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a quiet time like a hidden retreat. We were seated at the counter seats by the window overlooking the garden. The weather was good that day, and the colors of the garden were vibrant. I ordered the Wagyu sirloin steak set with yudofu, while my wife ordered the Wagyu thigh steak set with yudofu. The Wagyu sirloin steak was of high quality, with a delicious taste of the sirloin meat and sweet marbling. I tried a bite of my wife's Wagyu thigh steak, and it was wonderfully tender with a great flavor of lean meat. It was light enough that even women could easily finish the 150g portion. The yudofu was just right, adding to the Kyoto experience. The only disappointment was that what we thought was chawanmushi turned out to be a simmered burdock dish. It was tasty, but it would have been better if there was chawanmushi as expected. I hope they can improve on this one point. Overall, we were satisfied and had a great day. I had a bowl with half of it filled with yuba and beef, and it was incredibly delicious. The customers were mostly older, with families and students, except for my friend and I (in our 20s) who were the youngest. As a result, the atmosphere in the restaurant was calm and peaceful.

Along the main street, Arashiyama Shopping Street, you can find Kyoto-style sweets, pickles, cute and elegant sundries, as well as a wide variety of dining options. When you think of Kyoto, you might imagine kaiseki cuisine, yudofu, or obanzai, all representing traditional Japanese cuisine. However, on this day, I was in the mood for some meat, so I decided to try "Kijuro," a restaurant offering dishes like wagyu steak bowls. Looking at the menu, the wagyu steak bowls ranged from 2,600 to 5,600 yen, while other options like yuba rice bowls were surprisingly affordable starting from 1,400 yen. I had a hard time deciding what to order, as I wanted to try the meat but the yuba rice bowl looked delicious as well. Eventually, I found the perfect menu item for myself - a combination of wagyu yakiniku and yuba rice called "Wagyu Yakiniku Bowl." After about 10 minutes of waiting, the dish arrived. The yakiniku was seasoned well and went perfectly with the rice. The yuba was smooth and flavorful, with an elegant taste. While I initially thought the yakiniku would be the star of the dish, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the yuba rice bowl was on its own. I enjoyed a slightly luxurious lunch with a view of the garden from my seat. Considering it's a tourist area, the prices at this restaurant were quite reasonable.

I go to Kyoto every year, but this time I stayed at the Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Arashiyama, so I looked for a place around Arashiyama where I could have dinner. Since Suiran includes a champagne time, I wanted something light and close to the hotel for dinner, so I made a reservation at this restaurant where you can enjoy a hearty steak or a light yudofu rice bowl a la carte. It was located just 3 minutes away from the hotel, a little off the main street in front of Tenryu-ji Temple, giving off a luxurious vibe. It was a Saturday in late October, but it was not well known, so it was empty and a hidden gem! You can see the illuminated garden on the other side of the table seats, which is very soothing. For two people, we had the following dishes: - Wagyu sirloin steak set with yudofu - Yudofu rice bowl The Wagyu sirloin was very tender, and the sauce paired perfectly with the warm rice, creating a delicious combination. It was a delightful surprise to also enjoy the yudofu. The yudofu rice bowl was hot and silky smooth, with plenty of yudofu, and we finished it in no time. We wanted to stop by a convenience store on the way back, so we walked around, but Arashiyama was pitch dark at night.
