Seating fee: 500 yen per person Black honey and bracken rice cake: 500 yen Green tea: 600 yen Very far away. Quite a walk from the station. Also quite a walk from the parking lot. And the seating is limited to 30 minutes. The bracken rice cake was very delicious. The seating was dirty with trash, as it is in nature. You can take good photos, but it's an experience you only need once.

I arrived around 10 a.m. on the middle day of the three-day weekend and we were the fourth group in line. Even though the store was supposed to open at 11 a.m., they started letting people in around 10:30 a.m. We were in the fourth group so we got seats in the front row, which was a very nice atmosphere. We could dip our feet in the water to keep cool. The warabi mochi was delicious.

Around 2 pm on a regular day, we were able to easily use the riverside seating without waiting in line. The system was to pay at the roadside, receive drinks and a seat number, and then take them to the riverside. Plus, being able to dip our feet in the river was a rare and enjoyable experience.

I had a matcha latte! It was very delicious. There is a separate seating fee of 500 yen per person. If it's crowded, you may need to leave the shop in about 30 minutes, so you may not be able to relax. You can put your feet in the river, but you need to bring a towel as they are not provided.

Kibune river dining has always been a dream of mine. However, everywhere is crowded, reservations are impossible, and it's only for groups of 2 or more. The famous nagashi somen has a 4-hour wait! Impossible. The one place that seemed less crowded was diagonally across from here. Also, the places that were calling in customers seemed to have immediate availability for groups of 2. A reasonably priced soba restaurant with only 6 seats looked like it would have quite a long wait. After waiting in line for about 40 minutes since the shop opened, we were finally able to be seated. Phew. Also, Kibune in midsummer is hot! Even holding a frozen water bottle, I was sweating. The staff periodically sprayed water on those waiting in line, which was nice. The line moved fairly quickly until the river dining area was full, then it became a waiting game. There seemed to be plenty of available seats, but depending on the timing, you might still have to wait about an hour. In the end, we waited for an hour. You descend to the river dining area via stairs. You have to carry the food you ordered to your designated seat yourself. Whether you have a cart or not, it doesn't change, so dress lightly! ⭐︎ When you dip your feet in the river, it's so refreshingly cool! Really feels great! Unfortunately, I was seated at the back, so the view wasn't the best. As for the food, it was quite delicious! The sake lees shine muscat cream puff had a smooth sake lees cream that paired well with the sweet bean paste. The cream puff was crispy and irresistible! The black sugar warabi mochi was chewy and not too sweet, elegant and delicious. The matcha latte was mostly milky. Ah, it was so nice!

It was amazing!!! I was extremely satisfied with being able to experience the riverbed at such a reasonable price. It was raining in the morning on the day of the reservation, so there was a possibility of cancellation, but luckily the rain stopped and we were able to proceed with the experience! I wanted to sit in the front row, so I consulted with the staff, and they kindly guided me to a spot where I could wait a little longer. We went around noon on a weekday and waited for about 30 minutes. It might have just been a lucky break! Being able to dip our feet in the water was refreshing, the atmosphere was cool, the photos turned out great, and the food was delicious. It was the perfect setting!

You can enjoy the riverside dining at a reasonable price in Kibune. If you plan to have lunch at a ryokan restaurant in Kibune, it will cost around 5,000 yen or more. However, there are cheaper options available for around 3,000 yen per person, with an additional seating fee of 500 yen per person. If you can enjoy the riverside dining in Kibune for around 1,000 yen per person, it is considered cheap. In Kibune, there is a restaurant located towards the back near the Okunomiya Shrine. I visited at the end of July and it was quite crowded with foreign tourists on tours. I am planning to visit towards the end of September next year when the crowds have thinned out. Kibune tends to be busy in the morning, so it is better to visit in the afternoon when the crowds have decreased. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for the riverside dining, so my two friends went to explore the shrine while waiting. There were many young couples seen at the riverside dining. Luckily, we were called by the staff and were seated at the front table! How lucky! The floor at Heie Cafe is very open and you can enjoy a wonderful time amidst the sounds of cicadas and water. Before we knew it, the three of us had taken off our socks as it is 10 degrees cooler than in Kyoto city. The drinks were also delicious. The back of the riverside dining area is where the food is served. It is a recommended restaurant in Kibune.

This is my second visit in June and July. I was able to get the front seat both times. The location is always wonderful no matter how many times I come. I think it's best to share and empathize with this wonderful location with your loved ones. The casual riverside seating where you can feel summer for just 500 yen per person is highly recommended. It's a limited-time cafe that you should definitely check out.

I stretched my legs and visited Kibune during my sightseeing in Kyoto. It was very cool, and the water in the river was extremely cold, making it very relaxing even in the intense heat. The matcha drink was rich and delicious. The sweets and seating fees are priced for tourists. It's worth stopping by when you travel!

Around 11:00 on a regular day, the seating by the waterfall was full but I was able to find a seat easily. I ordered an "iced coffee" for 1,100 yen including the riverside fee, and it's a 30-minute time limit. It takes a bit of time because they seem to be brewing it properly. The staff, who seem to be part-time workers, are all cute and friendly. This is my second time here, and it's amazing! To put it mildly, it's amazing! I can't stay for a long time, but it's enough. It feels nice to occasionally let my legs flow in the water, and the occasional sunlight shining through is also pleasant. It's great to be able to enjoy it casually, it's really nice here (*^^*)

Returning from a business trip in Osaka, I decided to visit Kifune Shrine on my day off. Along the way to the shrine, I saw several riverside restaurants. It felt cool and like a different world from the city! Since I was alone, I was debating on whether to try the riverside cuisine. However, I stumbled upon a lovely riverside cafe and decided to check it out. When I arrived, there was no staff in sight. Confused, I went back to the entrance and found a sign with instructions. I realized I had missed it! I went a little upstream to the cafe, placed my order, received it, and it seemed like I could enjoy it at the riverside. I ordered cold matcha tea, sake lees senbei, and Shine Muscat grapes. The seating fee for the riverside was 500 yen for 30 minutes. Luckily, a front-row seat was available (^^) Lucky me. I had a luxurious time enjoying tea while admiring the flow of the Kifune River and the autumn leaves. My heart is satisfied. It truly felt like a different world. I would love to visit again in another season.

I thought I would visit a casual restaurant in Kibune and it turned out to be casual indeed. It looked full at first, so I waited outside, but no staff approached me and I wasn't sure if it was okay to just wait there. When a table became available, they finally called out to me. The food was not bad. It was a shame that the riverside seating was closed due to the rain.

Attracted by the stylish atmosphere, I entered the shop. I had a matcha and a sweet bean paste-filled cake. The matcha was elegant, and the perfect sweetness of the sweet bean paste healed my fatigue. It's not about having a large quantity, but the balance was just right and satisfying. It's a bit of a hassle to get there, but this cafe seems like a good place to visit again and again. I definitely want to go back.

I found this cafe on the way to Kibune-jinja Shrine Okumiya. I was craving for warabi mochi, so I happily went in. I ordered warabi mochi and shiratama zenzai. For my drink, I ordered coffee. I chose the cold warabi mochi, which was soft and delicious as I dipped it in kinako and black syrup. It was a delightful experience. The shiratama zenzai had large red bean grains and a subtle sweetness with a hint of saltiness.

I ordered a hot matcha latte and a hot kinmokusei lemonade. I asked for some sugar to be added to the matcha latte since it was not sweet. The lemonade had kinmokusei inside, which was quite unusual. It was sweet and refreshing with a citrusy flavor, and it warmed me up nicely.

I aimed to arrive at the opening time of 11 o'clock, but it was already crowded because it was Sunday. However, it was nice to be able to sit down and relax! I realized that each dish is handmade one by one, so it takes time. There is no place where you can leisurely use a cafe other than Japanese cuisine on the riverbed, so I think it's a very nice idea.

As the hot days continue, I sought some relief in Kibune. I heard about a café where you can enjoy a mini riverside dining experience, so I decided to check it out. Despite it being a weekday, there was quite a line! However, they operate on a 30-minute per group system, so I was seated after about a 15-minute wait. I had pre-ordered a matcha latte and sake lees monaka, which I picked up and carried to my designated riverside seating area. With the sound of the Kibune River in the background, I took off my socks and dipped my feet in the cool stream. The refreshing river water was soothing, making me forget about the summer heat. The view was also very calming! The matcha latte had a nice balance of matcha aroma and bitterness. The sake lees monaka, with peach sandwiched inside, had just the right blend of peach acidity and sweet red bean paste, making it very delicious! Enjoying these treats in this picturesque setting made them even more enjoyable! There is a seating fee of 500 yen per person, but considering the ambiance of the riverside and the location, I think it's a reasonable price! Enjoying Kyoto's summer in a mini riverside setting! ● Matcha Latte 600 yen ● Sake lees monaka with peach 600 yen ● Seating fee 500 yen

The streets of Kibune are quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the Gion Festival. The sound of the river can be heard, with the water level slightly higher than usual, perhaps due to the recent heavy rain. As I walk up the slope from Kibune Shrine towards Okunoin (Inner Shrine), I notice the river on my right lined with riverside dining platforms. Normally, in June, it's less crowded and offers casual menu options, but mostly set courses like flowing somen, soba, etc. I've always thought it would be nice to have a cafe as well... Wait, there is one!! The main dining area is the usual riverside platform, but there are 24 seats in a cafe setup facing south. The southernmost seat overlooks a waterfall, and it seems to fill up quickly from that end. You can order at the main building and inform them that you'll be using the riverside dining area. The menu includes cafe options with alcohol and some sweets. There is a seating fee of 500 yen for the riverside dining area, with a 30-minute time limit. The seating is assigned based on numbers, and if you prefer the waterfall seat on the far right, you may have to wait for up to 30 minutes. Since it's a riverside dining area, you have to cross the road and serve your own food. It can be a bit daunting for someone clumsy like me, but the location is sheltered from strong winds so it's not too risky. I always think riverside dining is amazing. It's cool and refreshing. I can't believe someone came up with this idea and made it happen. The riverside dining area at Kamogawa in the city is hot, crowded, and full of insects, but the one in Kibune is much more relaxed. The slightly louder sound of the waterfall and water may be due to the recent rain. I ordered an "iced coffee" which was reasonably priced. Including the seating fee, it cost just over 1000 yen, which may seem a bit expensive for just a cafe. However, the experience of dining by the river is priceless! The taste was average, but the presentation with the leaf garnish added a nice touch. I couldn't help but take photos of the picturesque setting. Many people seemed to be there for the same reason, enjoying the cool breeze and the tranquil atmosphere. It's a simple and enjoyable experience. It would be great if more cafes like this were available. Overall, I'm grateful for the opportunity to experience this riverside dining cafe. It's simply the best!

Feeling wonderful at the riverside cafe. I wanted to visit Kibune's riverside dining area! Among the slightly expensive dining options, if you walk up a bit, you will find this cafe. There are various riverside dining areas along the way, so walking is not a problem at all. I also paid an additional riverside dining fee. The monaka was very fragrant, and the sweet red bean paste inside was quite mild in sweetness. It can be enjoyed elegantly. I had a roasted green tea lemon soda, which was very delicious! If there was a cafe nearby selling this, I would definitely visit often... I was worried about the rainy season, but it didn't rain, the weather was not too hot, the water was clean, the river was calm, and I had a very good time. I also visited Kifune Shrine and had a fun time taking the train back. The way there was full of maple leaves and Kibune, so I think the autumn foliage season would be really wonderful.

Heihei Cafe in Kibune. Among the high-end riverside dining spots, this cafe offers a more affordable option to enjoy tea by the river. You purchase your items at the cafe and then head down to the riverside. There is a seating fee of 500 yen per person, but I think it's reasonable. We had matcha latte, iced green tea, sake-kasu senbei, and strawberry sandwich for 2 people, totaling 2800 yen including the seating fee. Considering the location, I think it's quite affordable. It's a great place for a short break.
