Having dinner at the creative Japanese cuisine restaurant "Shokkan" in Shibuya. The restaurant has a calm and modern atmosphere, with an open kitchen surrounded by counter seats. There are also private rooms available for up to 6 people, making it great for gatherings. Located underground, it has a hidden and cozy vibe. I opted for the chef's special course, and the highlight for me was the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu shabu-shabu meat. The "Paella" pot was also a standout, filled with plenty of mussels, ikura, salmon, and sakura shrimp. The dish was delicious, especially when enjoyed as-is and then as ochazuke. The sakura shrimp added a nice flavor and crunch. "Shokkan" in Shibuya is a great spot for a special dinner experience.

I visited after 3 years. I used to come here often, but couldn't visit because the office moved away. I ordered the course menu and all the dishes were delicious with fresh ingredients. Especially, the fresh oysters were the best I've ever had. Perfect for entertaining guests, I definitely want to go again.

I visited "Shokkan Shibuya," a Japanese restaurant where you can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the open kitchen from the counter seats. Located on the basement floor along Roppongi Street, close to Shibuya Station, "Shokkan Shibuya" offers an exciting dining experience. When I entered from the cozy facade area, I was greeted by a bustling space. I visited after 7:00 PM and the restaurant was almost full. As time passed, the seats filled up and it was very busy during peak hours! The restaurant had around 10 staff members, each assigned to different roles. I had pre-ordered the "Chef's Special Course" and here is what it included: 1) Scallop and Fig Edamame Soup 2) Assorted Appetizers 3) Sashimi (Amberjack, Bluefin Tuna, Cuttlefish) 4) Snow Crab Cream Croquette 5) Duck Breast with Ishikawa Sweet Potato in Cold Sweet Sauce 6) Wagyu Beef Steak 7) Red Snapper Scale Tempura with Winter Melon in Black Vinegar Sauce 8) Choice of Clay Pot Rice (Eel and Shiba Shrimp with Tea Pickles) 9) Dessert Drinks: Masters Dream x2, Atago no Matsu, Toyo Bijin, Juyondai (Hatsuzoe Junmai Ginjo) The food was delicious and the restaurant was great for having easy conversations.

I walked a little from Shibuya Station, but I thought it was a popular restaurant with a lot of people since its opening. You can see the process of cooking at the counter, and the atmosphere was nice. All the dishes were innovative Japanese cuisine and very delicious. Although the variety of sake is not that large, there were rare brands available, which was irresistible for sake lovers. I definitely want to visit again!

The restaurant is quite a walk from the station and there are few shops around. Once you go underground, you'll find a spacious open kitchen, a counter, and about four private rooms. The staff are attentive to customers at all times. Starting from fresh oysters to sashimi, grilled dishes, fried food, and smoked items, everything is undeniably delicious. The sea urchin is so amazing that everything else I've eaten before seems like imitation. I devoured the finale of rice cooked in a pot and felt like I was in heaven.

This is a restaurant located underground, a little away from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya Station. I opted for a table seat, and the atmosphere was stylish and nice. I started with a Master's Dream (beer) for drinks and then switched to mainly sake. The sake selection includes both regular menu items and daily recommendations, all of which are delicious and have a light flavor that complements the dishes well. I didn't try it, but they also have a variety of unique whiskey-based drinks like the Sansho Highball. The food was exceptional! I highly recommend the fresh oysters, although they are a bit pricey at 1500 yen per piece, they are much more satisfying than smaller oysters for 500 yen at other restaurants. Today, I had fresh oysters, a sashimi platter (bluefin tuna, squid, flounder), crispy fried oysters, eel rolls, crab cream croquettes, grilled saury, a smoked platter (soft-boiled egg, silver salmon, pork fillet), and a sea bream and corn hot pot. Despite the size of the restaurant and the number of guests, the staff, with 3 in the hall and 7 in the kitchen, worked efficiently and seamlessly to serve the orders promptly. What surprised me was the timely delivery of dishes and drinks despite handling so many orders. They didn't just dump all the food on the table but served each dish at the right moment for a pleasant dining experience. There are also about 3 private rooms, and the staff could monitor the table situation with cameras that don't show the customers, ensuring smooth service. Although it has a high-end atmosphere suitable for business entertaining, it can get quite noisy depending on the clientele, so I recommend the private rooms in that case. Overall, this restaurant truly stands out in Shibuya with its exceptional food and service!

This place is perfect for adult dates! I arrived after 7pm and of course it was packed, but the staff were working efficiently and didn't seem too overwhelmed. I was most looking forward to the oysters, and they were huge, juicy, and had a creamy taste. The other dishes were also visually appealing, well-seasoned, and served on beautiful plates. I highly recommend coming here for a date, but it would be even better with a group of 5-6 people so you can try more dishes! A perfect spot for a lovely evening!

It's been a month since my last visit. Every time I come, the menu has changed in some places, so there are many foods that catch my interest and I always have a hard time deciding. The individual hot pot is just the right amount for four rice bowls, making it easy to order for a satisfying meal. However, the way the eel tempura was fried this time was a bit greasy and sloppy, which was disappointing...! The Iburi Gakko cheese potato salad was reliably delicious and fantastic as always. I will come back next month as well.

Two of my girlfriends visited this restaurant. The entrance was quiet, but we easily found it because of the sign. As soon as we entered, the atmosphere was very nice and our spirits were lifted. It's dimly lit, making it perfect for a date. Women would definitely love it. The place is spacious and very clean. It seemed like they also have private rooms. We ordered a course with paella, and all the dishes were delicious and we were very satisfied! There were many appealing menu items, so I want to come back again to try them. The service was polite and pleasantly casual, making it a comfortable experience.

I used this restaurant for the first time in a while to have dinner with a friend. The prices are a bit high, but we just wanted to eat something delicious. We were lucky to make a reservation for two, so we only reserved a table and ordered a la carte. The food and drinks were all delicious, and the presentation was lovely. What impressed us the most was that everything we ordered was served in small portions for the two of us. It's not cheap, but the taste and service were worth it. I would love to use this restaurant again for a girls' night out or a date. We ordered a variety of dishes, but I forgot the names of the menu items.

Luxurious single-board tables are used for the counter seats in front of the cooking area, where charcoal grilling is also done, making it fun to watch the cooking process. Many couples use it for dates. There are 3 tables for 4 people and 4-5 private rooms at the back. The service was polite from the moment of arrival to the end, and the timing of serving and clearing dishes was seamless. I didn't initiate much conversation, but I should have asked for more recommendations on food and drink pairings. Some dishes take time to be served, so it's good to ask when ordering. ◾️ Food Everything was delicious. ・Raw oysters are delicious! But I was surprised by the price of 1400 yen. ・Shine Muscat white salad - it feels like a creative dish, not necessarily a good match for alcohol. ・Assorted sashimi - I should have asked for salt. ・Yellowtail with sesame dressing was delicious. ・Tuna tartare - easy to eat, but could have a stronger taste. ・Smoked duck - thick slices of duck with a strong duck flavor and smoky aroma, best eaten in 3-4 bites. Goes well with red wine. ・Corn and hairy crab cream croquette - delicious, with a decent crab flavor. ・Conger eel and eggplant simmered with sakura shrimp - delicious broth, well-infused conger eel and eggplant, with a good aroma of sakura shrimp. ・Grilled fatty tuna cheek - flavorful without being overpowering, with a good combination of wasabi and grated daikon. ・Grilled oysters - good with leeks and broth. ・Hitsumabushi - charcoal-grilled eel on its own is delicious, and the white rice in the earthen pot is also delicious. Mixing it all together is the best.

Celebrated with colleagues at the company. We ordered a la carte and everything was delicious, we ended up ordering without worrying about the price, haha. Four of us drank and ate, spending 70,000 yen. It was quite expensive, haha. The fresh oysters were so delicious that we wanted to order more, and even though we ordered 2 servings of rice at the end, it wasn't enough~

The other day, I went to "Shokkan" in Shibuya! The drinks were delicious, and the food was amazing, making it a very satisfying lunch. It's a perfect place for men in their 30s. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a calming Japanese space where you could relax. The selection of drinks was great, allowing me to enjoy something that suited my taste. And the food was superb! I took my seat and observed the refined clientele at the nearby tables and the counter in the back. Delicious and I come here every month. Easy to make reservations and the price, taste, and overall experience are quite good! The potato salad, seasonal white miso salad, and hot pot are a must. It's a bit away from the station, so it doesn't feel crowded like Shibuya, which is even better.

The atmosphere was nice, and all the dishes were delicious! I was surprised by the size of the oysters! They were creamy and tasty without any fishy smell. The hitsumabushi had plenty of condiments to enjoy the flavors. The meat was tender and juicy! The dessert wasn't as delicious as I expected, but the staff's service was polite and I was able to enjoy the meal in a calm atmosphere! I am very satisfied!

I made a reservation for the chef's choice course for dinner and the dishes coming out of the open kitchen were delicious. For the finale, we chose the clay pot rice with sea urchin and oysters, which was exquisite! However, we ended up drinking 7 glasses of alcohol between the two of us, and the bill came out to 38,000 yen... It's a great meal for a special occasion.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station, this restaurant has a spacious and open counter area. There are also table seats and private rooms in the back. This time, we chose to sit at the counter. Our orders included a variety of assorted dishes for 3800 yen, a seafood platter for 4800 yen, 2 snow crab cream croquettes for 2800 yen, a new tama steak for 3500 yen, and 1 serving of paella for 3200 yen. The alcohol menu ranged from around 700 yen to 1500 yen. The presentation and creativity of the dishes were impressive and seemed perfect for pleasing girls. The new tama steak had a refreshing taste, making it easy to eat without feeling heavy. The most popular dish at this restaurant is the paella, which we had as our final course. It was made with mussels, clams, salmon roe, and sakura shrimp, among other ingredients. The rice was moist, possibly due to the effect of the clay pot. Although the flavor seemed light at first, it significantly improved when the broth was poured in towards the end. The flavor was unbelievably delicious! The broth elevated the dish to a whole new level. The paella itself would be rated 4.0 out of 5 in terms of taste. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, and the creative dishes were interesting. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
