Located near the Roppongi intersection, towards the Hills area, is the bird cuisine restaurant "Torayaki". It is a new concept restaurant where you can enjoy a collaboration of carefully selected brand chicken yakitori and traditional Japanese cuisine in a stylish atmosphere. The entrance to the restaurant is on a side street just off the main street with the expressway. Although there is a sign on the street indicating the entrance, there is a small trick when trying to go up to the 8th floor - there is no elevator. Once you find the elevator and descend to the 8th floor, you are already inside the restaurant. The dimly lit interior is illuminated by indirect lighting, creating a nice ambiance. I informed my reservation name and was seated at the counter. In the blackness, the tables are spotlighted, creating a unique and almost theatrical atmosphere. I decided on the middle course as I felt having rice and dessert would be too much. I started with a beer toast with Shirahonoka. The meal began with a chicken broth soup to warm the stomach, followed by a fresh assortment of chicken sashimi. The course included a variety of yakitori skewers and traditional Japanese dishes using plenty of vegetables. The yakitori skewers included breast, thigh, wings, vegetables (eggplant), and chicken tenderloin. There were also duck dishes, chicken wings, and more. The combination of chicken and vegetables in the traditional dishes complemented each other well. The drink selection included a variety of sake, wine, and a noteworthy selection of non-alcoholic drinks. The homemade non-alcoholic cocktails were also quite diverse. The restaurant also offers private rooms, making it versatile for various occasions. It was a delightful dining experience.

This is a nice restaurant with a clear view of the Tokyo Tower, featuring black-themed table seats and a warm counter seat atmosphere. We ordered the Yakitori and Kaiseki course for 9,350 yen (tax included) this time. One of the highlights of this Yakitori course is the comparison between "Kuroiwadokko" and "Matsukaze Jidori" chicken. In the case of the Kaiseki and Yakitori course, you can also compare sashimi. We had Yakitori last time, but trying sashimi here is very fresh as we have never compared it at other restaurants. The plate with 9 small dishes, the front row in the photo is Kuroiwadokko, and the middle row is Matsukaze Jidori. From left to right, there are heart, liver, and gizzard. It is a very satisfying assortment. You can sense the high quality of the chicken in both taste and texture, which is delicious. The heart is crispy, the liver is creamy, and the gizzard is chewy and crunchy, making the texture addictive. First, we compared the chicken breast skewers. Real wasabi slices for Kuroiwadokko, and mountain wasabi for Matsukaze. Matsukaze is chewier and both have a moist and tender finish. Next, we compared the thigh meat. The Kuroiwadokko had a better fatty texture and the juices overflowed. For the finale, we chose Sukiyaki over Mizutaki. We were quite full with the shiny rice in the wooden tub. Before the finale, they served Hanada Somen, which I have ordered before because I love it. It is a delicious noodle with a udon-like chewiness, a nice choice. From the sweetness to the end, this Yakitori Kaiseki restaurant is well-prepared and can be used in various situations.

Chougetsu Menu [Yakitori] Comparison of two types of chicken breast skewers (Kuroiwa Jidori, Matsukaze Jidori) Comparison of two types of chicken thigh skewers (Kuroiwa Jidori, Matsukaze Jidori) Kuroiwa Jidori skewers with grated daikon and soy sauce (David's Star) Soy sauce marinated chicken tenderloin with flying fish roe, kelp, radish, vinegar soy sauce Tosakamo duck with green onions and grilled sansho pepper miso Matsukaze Jidori chicken skewers with lightly seasoned chicken thighs, kinkan citrus, sweet sauce [Kappo] Homemade pickled daikon, chicken broth, chicken skin crackers (lemon & rock salt, truffle salt) Boiled nanohana and maitake mushrooms, eggplant in Dutch sauce, simmered unohana with ankake sauce, rolled egg omelette with dashi, Man'yoji and crab in white miso, Handa somen noodles with grated ikura, sukiyaki hot pot with rice or chicken hot pot with rice, o-hitsu pickles, takana and tamagoyaki, Chougetsu shaved ice with Shinshu peach and milk or water, Shinshu mochi with homemade black honey and yellow powder, roasted green tea. First of all, the entrance of this building is amazing! And I couldn't figure out how to get in, haha. The wall with beautiful images displayed on it serves as an automatic door. Last time, I had a seat with a fantastic view of Tokyo Tower, but this time I made a reservation for the counter seat. The counter seat has a very moody atmosphere! It's the kind of place where you'd have a hard time deciding which seat to choose for a date, haha. Being able to drink while listening to the sound of yakitori grilling at the counter is the best! I was happy to see Shirohonoka beer on the menu too. The creamy foam and delicious taste of the beer make it so enjoyable. It's nice to start with a soup! It warms you up and prepares your stomach for the meal. - Chicken Breast Skewer Comparison You can enjoy comparing the Kuroiwa Jidori chicken breast with real wasabi slices and the Kuroiwa Jidori chicken breast with grated mountain wasabi. - Furi Sode (chicken thigh skewer) It's so chewy and juicy! The skin is crispy, which is irresistible. Enjoy it with a cold beer! - Tsukune The combination of tsukune and kinkan citrus is unusual, but it's delicious! It lives up to the expectations of being as delicious as Tsukimi tsukune. - Handa Somen Even though it's somen noodles, it has a firm texture! It's chewy! The generous amount of ikura on top makes it luxurious. I really like this somen. - Chicken Breast Skewer The chicken breast is so tender! The addition of flying fish roe is luxurious. The saltiness and richness complement each other perfectly. The crispy texture of the radish adds a nice touch. - Crab and Kanijou There's plenty of crab in this dish! It's so satisfying. - Duck The duck is cooked at a low temperature, similar to roast beef. The green onions are crunchy! The sansho miso is roasted to a fragrant and not too salty, mellow flavor, with a hint of spiciness from the sansho pepper. You can enjoy drinking with just this! - Chicken Sukiyaki First, enjoy the pickles with a cup of sake, then another cup with the ingredients for chicken sukiyaki. Finally, finish with soup, rice, and egg over rice. You can apparently get a refill of rice, which is nice. The egg is made with white eggs from Hokkaido called Kometsuya. The yolk is also white! It's rich but refreshing and delicious. The course was sinful but satisfying until the end. - Shaved Ice with Peach The peach is juicy and refreshing, with a crunchy texture. The dessert was delicious until the end. The seat with a view of Tokyo Tower is nice, but the moody counter seat was also great. I felt that the quality has improved compared to before. It's conveniently located near Roppongi Station, and it's a restaurant worth knowing about! I'll definitely come back again.

It's been a while since I visited the GEMS building in Roppongi. I remembered the stylish projection mapping display at the entrance of the building as I rode the elevator to the 8th floor where the restaurant is located. I arrived about 15 minutes before the opening time, but the staff kindly guided me even though it was before their working hours. This time, I visited for a business meal reservation. I was seated at a table with a view of the Roppongi area, which was quite pleasant. The table seating was spacious and not too close to other customers, which was nice. We had two sets of 'Kuroiwa Jidori' and 'Matsukaze Jidori' for comparison. The menu included a variety of dishes with unique ingredients and flavors. Some dishes were a bit challenging to eat, but overall, the meal was satisfying. The dessert, shaved ice with tomato and milk, was particularly high quality and a perfect way to end the meal. The staff's attentive service, the ambiance of the night view from the table seating, and the versatility of the yakitori restaurant were all impressive. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience at the restaurant.

I was invited by a friend to GEM8F in Roppongi. Normally, I prefer counter seats at yakitori restaurants, but here, depending on the occasion, table seats are recommended. Located on the 8th floor of a building along a side street off Roppongi Street, with no obstructing buildings in the residential area behind, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the newly built Azabudai Hills and Tokyo Tower. The course consists of alternating yakitori and appetizers, not a heavy yakitori course, so it may be suitable for women or business dinners. However, there are skewers with various toppings that make it a bit difficult to eat in one bite, so it may not be suitable for women. At the end of the yakitori course, it seemed like there was still room for more, but rice, pickles, and eggs were served with a small pot, so in the end, I was quite satisfied with the amount of food.

I visited for the first time, but the first lemon sour was too sweet and not tasty. For the second drink, I ordered a shochu soda with lemon, but surprisingly there was no lemon... I was surprised. The timing of serving the dishes was also too fast... I had high expectations but ended up disappointed. I think the food is delicious, but the cost performance is not great.

Second visit. I was very impressed last time, so I am excited to visit again. Located on the 8th floor of the GEMS building above Roppongi Station (enjoy the entertainment at the entrance!), the restaurant offers a view of Tokyo's night view, including Tokyo Tower and Roppongi Hills, from the table seats. There are also 6 counter seats and about 3 private rooms, making it easy to visit in various situations! -Hazuki Course- ◇ Assorted sashimi of "Kuroiwa Jidori" and "Matsukaze Jidori" Grilled chicken skewers ◇ First skewer Comparison of two types of chicken "Kuroiwa Jidori" and "Matsukaze Jidori" Breast with sabi-yaki ◇ Second skewer Comparison of two types of chicken "Kuroiwa Jidori" and "Matsukaze Jidori" Thigh with salt ◇ Third skewer Chef's choice dashi shoyu furisode ◇ Fourth skewer Today's seasonal vegetable skewer Crossbred eringi and hakurei mushroom ◇ Fifth skewer Chicken tenderloin with grated daikon and karasumi vinegar soy sauce ◇ Duck dish Tosa duck with scallion yakitori and sansho miso ◇ Sixth skewer Kuroiwa Jidori skinless with chef's choice light sauce ◇ Seventh skewer Tsukune with kinkan sweet sauce capo ◇ Appetizer Homemade daikon pickles Chicken broth chicken skin senbei Lemon salt / truffle salt ◇ Hassun Pumpkin manju Eggplant emerald simmered Gold thread gourd soaked Duck name-rou ◇ Mukozuke An-kake dashi roll tamago ◇ Nimono Wan Furofuki and sesame fu with white miso ◇ Tomezara Kae Handa somen with ikura oroshi ◇ Gohan Chicken sukiyaki small pot with tamago kake gohan Oshitsuke / pickles / takana / egg ◇ Dessert Mizu shingen mochi Homemade black flour skewers The assorted chicken sashimi allows you to compare the different textures and rich flavors of the two types of chicken, making it a recommendation for those who enjoy comparing flavors! *Advance reservation required The comparison of two types of grilled chicken showed that the Matsukaze Jidori was juicier and had a more elastic texture. The tsukune did not have a skewer that day, so it came with foie gras. It was a new way to enjoy it! The capo dashi roll tamago had a white appearance and I initially thought it was tofu, but it turns out they use a type of egg called kometuya. For the final meal, we were served water stew and sukiyaki with egg kake gohan. Once again, I was pleased that you could choose from two types of meals and desserts! The young staff and the person in charge were all polite and made the dining experience comfortable! The detailed explanation of the recommended eating order for the hassun and the dishes was also impressive. The restaurant was fully booked even on weekdays, and I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

Visited with a customer! Located a 2-3 minute walk from exit 3 of Roppongi Station on the Hibiya Line, the 8th floor of the GEMS building is a great location with many dining options. The atmosphere is calm with counter, private rooms, and table seats, making it easy to use for various purposes! The course menu mainly consists of a comparison between "Kuroiwa Jidori" and "Matsukaze Jidori," so it's very filling! The ordered course included appetizers, chicken soup, chicken skin chips with yuzu and truffle seasoning, which were delicious! The sashimi (additional order) included heart, liver, gizzard, and smoked chicken breast, with a strong aroma that stimulates the appetite! Other dishes included salted fish roe, chicken breast with wasabi slices, assorted appetizers, chicken nanban pickled skewers, and more, all of which were incredibly delicious! The staff's introduction of the dishes was smooth and enjoyable. Thank you for the feast!

The night view is beautiful and the quality of the food is excellent. Located on the 8th floor in Roppongi, this restaurant offers private rooms and a counter where you can enjoy the night view of Minato-ku, including Tokyo Tower, while dining. The concept of yakitori and kappo cuisine is unique, and the limited quantity of rare chicken cuts allows you to fully enjoy the taste. The craft drinks, especially the Jasmine cocktail, are delicious. The course menu includes various dishes such as chicken dashi, chicken sashimi, two types of rare chicken cuts, and a variety of other delicacies. The food is high-quality and well-presented, making it a great choice for dates, gatherings, or business entertainment.

Located just a 1-minute walk from Roppongi Station is Yakitori Kappo Torayo, where I tried their recommended course for July (9370 yen). This course includes a luxurious selection of 7 skewers grilled by the master and seasonal Kappo dishes. The yakitori selection included a comparison of two chicken types, breast with sabi sauce, thigh with salt, an assortment of seasonal vegetables, duck with scallions, and more. The Kappo dishes featured homemade pickled daikon, chicken skin senbei, melon salad, and various other delicacies. The experience of not knowing what dish is coming next adds to the excitement. Personally, I loved the rolled egg with broth and the view of Tokyo Tower from the table. I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied and happy. I can't wait to go back! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Located about a 2-minute walk from Roppongi Station, this restaurant received a rating of 3.62 during my visit. It offers the ultimate course meal that combines yakitori and traditional Japanese cuisine! The Yakitori Kappo Course for June (8500 yen excluding tax) includes a 10% service charge. The menu includes a variety of dishes such as chicken broth, chicken skin senbei, pickled daikon, two types of chicken breast comparison, two types of chicken thigh comparison, grilled chicken liver with eggplant in spicy vinegar miso, smoked chicken ham with sea urchin roll, deep-fried conger eel, sesame-flavored hidden tofu and grilled shiitake mushrooms, Hokkaido Shirayoshi ankake tamago, Kyoto Manpukuji red pepper chicken tenderloin with karasumi, daikon, and vinegar soy sauce, Kagatakkyuri cucumber, Tosakamo negi-yaki with grilled sansho pepper miso, assorted tare with citrus sudachi, tsukune with sweet sauce, chicken sukiyaki hot pot, and egg over rice. For dessert, they offer shaved ice with Nishio matcha and milk. It has been about a year and a half since my last visit, and I was able to enjoy the elegant dishes of yakitori and traditional Japanese cuisine once again! The course starts with a comparison of two types of chicken breast! The one on the right is Miyazaki Black Rock Chicken with real wasabi slices, while the one on the left is Hyogo Matsukaze Chicken with Hokkaido mountain wasabi. Even though they are both chicken breast, the texture and flavor are completely different! Personally, I found the tender texture of the Miyazaki Black Rock Chicken to be easy to eat and delicious! The eight dishes feature seasonal ingredients, including a smoky-flavored chicken ham with sea urchin and shiso, which has a refreshing taste! The deep-fried conger eel from Kyoto, a seasonal ingredient, is also of high quality! The careful grilling of the skewers is also evident. They offer a variety of skewers, such as chicken liver, soriresu (neck meat), and tsukune, in a course format, which is delightful! For the finale, you can choose between a shabu-shabu hot pot or a chicken sukiyaki hot pot. Just like last time, I chose the chicken sukiyaki! The egg yolk is white in color, and its rich flavor stands out! It pairs perfectly with the chicken sukiyaki and is also recommended to be poured over rice! If you sit at a table on the side with a view of Tokyo Tower, you can see it, making it a great spot for a date! They also have counter seats at the open kitchen and private rooms, making it suitable for dates, girls' nights out, and business entertaining! Thank you for the delicious meal. Please give it a try! A great restaurant for dates and entertaining guests. They have private rooms and a nice view of the night scenery. The dishes are small and easy to eat, with creative skewers like ones sprinkled with Parmigiano or sandwiched with cucumber, and grilled beet skewers in a spiral shape. It may not be the best choice for those who just want to enjoy simple grilled chicken. Ideal for those who enjoy creative dishes and private rooms. Reservations are easy to make. Thank you for the meal.

Located right near Roppongi Station, "GEMS Roppongi" is a dining building with an 8th floor yakitori and kaiseki restaurant. The concept is to enjoy both yakitori and kaiseki. They use "Kuroiwa Jidori" and "Matsukaze Jidori" for their yakitori, allowing you to compare the two. This was my first visit in a year and a half. Last time, I sat at the counter, but this time I sat at a table. There are also three private rooms available. The table seats offer a great view. I had the 9,350 yen (including tax) course. The meal included: homemade daikon pickles, chicken broth, chicken skin crackers (lemon salt and truffle salt), sashimi assortment (additional order), sand liver, liver, heart comparison, smoked Matsukaze Jidori breast, liver salted fish, two types of temari sushi, Kuroiwa Jidori and Matsukaze Jidori breast meat with wasabi, Kuroiwa Jidori and Matsukaze Jidori thigh, hagfish tempura, crushed water eggplant with spicy vinegar miso, chicken ham smoked sea urchin roll, lotus root dumplings and Kaga daikon in white miso, Tosa duck with green onion and grilled sansho miso, bonjiri, tsukune with kinkan, Handa somen with ikura and grated daikon, and a choice between Mizutaki hot pot or chicken sukiyaki hot pot for the finishing dish with egg rice. For dessert, there was a choice between shaved ice or Mizushingen mochi. I was very full after enjoying all the dishes. The Kuroiwa Jidori and Matsukaze Jidori have different textures and mouthfeel. Matsukaze Jidori (Nagoya Cochin) is more elastic and chewy, while Kuroiwa Jidori is softer and juicier. Both are delicious. The finishing meal was also excellent! There were many foreign customers, and the counter, private rooms, and table seats were all full! Total cost: 15,000 yen Rating: 3 points 5 points: Definitely want to revisit!! 4 points: Would revisit if given the chance! 3 points: Would consider revisiting. 2 points: Once is enough. 1 point: No need to go.

Located on the 8th floor of the GEMS building where gourmet enthusiasts gather, Toriyo offers a romantic atmosphere with table seating that overlooks Tokyo Tower and the night view. We chose to sit at the counter, as we prefer to enjoy yakitori and sushi at the counter where we can experience the aroma of the grilling up close. We opted for the Mizuki course, which includes a variety of dishes. The meal started with homemade pickled daikon and chicken skin senbei, followed by a warm chicken broth soup. The first skewer featured a comparison of different local chicken varieties, followed by dishes like chicken ham with sea urchin, mascarpone eggplant, and conger eel tempura. The meal continued with dishes like silken egg with minced chicken, salt-grilled peppers, and vinegar soy sauce grilled chicken tenderloin. The highlight was the juicy duck with yuzu miso, which was perfectly complemented by the spiciness of the sansho pepper miso. The meal also included simmered dishes like lotus root dumplings and cucumber in white miso. Each skewer offered a unique flavor experience, such as the juicy thigh meat of the Kuroiwa local chicken with scallions. The meal concluded with a refreshing dessert of Mizuki kakigori with matcha and milk, and homemade black honey and yellow powder. Overall, the dining experience at Toriyo was delightful, with a wide selection of drinks including craft beer, whiskey, shochu, and sake. The counter seating allowed us to interact with the skilled grill chefs, making the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The cost performance is good, and the yakitori and other dishes are consistently delicious. However, I think the young staff members were all trying their best, but they could benefit from more training. They didn't provide any introduction to the course dishes, and the sake pairing didn't go very well. Since they charge a service fee, the service was a bit disappointing.

Yakitori Kappo Torayo is a two-day hangover meal for those who love grilled chicken and are looking for a high-rated restaurant in Roppongi. Located near Roppongi Hills, in the same building as "Yakizakana Ishikawa" that I visited before, Yakitori Kappo Torayo is a cozy place with a great view of Tokyo Tower from the large window. They offer three main courses: Yakitori Course for 5280 yen, Sakizuki Course with dessert for 9350 yen, and Sakizuki Course without dessert for 7150 yen. I opted for the Sakizuki Course with dessert. The course started with chicken broth and chicken skin senbei with lemon salt and truffle salt. Then, there were various dishes like grilled chicken breast with wasabi, grilled chicken thigh, assorted appetizers, rolled omelette with a smooth texture, assorted skewers, white asparagus, chicken tenderloin with flying fish roe, and more. The meal ended with a hot pot dish and egg over rice, followed by dessert where I chose shaved ice with shiratama mochi. The course was quite filling with a good variety of dishes. The taste was satisfying overall, although the service was a bit disappointing with staff seeming inexperienced or lacking motivation. Considering the high prices, I expected better service quality.

Today, I had a long-awaited drinking party in Roppongi! For the first stop, we decided to go to my favorite yakitori place, "Yakitori Kappo Torayo"! The set course is only 5,280 yen including tax, and you can add more if needed. We enjoyed the delicious yakitori course at the cozy counter with great cost performance. The atmosphere is nice, so you can relax without feeling too formal, and the service is excellent. For this price, service, and taste in Roppongi, it's just amazing! Perfect match with shochu and sake!

As soon as you leave Roppongi Station, you will find a restaurant on the 8th floor of Roppongi GEMS Building where you can enjoy yakitori and kappo cuisine at the same time. The main floor seats offer a stunning night view with Tokyo Tower visible in the distance. The course options include a yakitori course and a yakitori kappo course. The yakitori course comes with an appetizer and 7 skewers, with additional orders being limited. The yakitori kappo course we had included various dishes such as homemade pickled radish, chicken broth soup, and different types of chicken skewers. The dishes were beautifully presented and delicious, with highlights like the grilled duck with scallion and grilled sansho miso. The meal ended with a choice of dessert, either shaved ice or water shingen mochi. Overall, the meal was satisfying and filling.

"Stylish! Healthy!" were the two requests and I remembered this restaurant (*^^*) The seats are spacious, with a view of Tokyo Tower from the window, and the chicken dishes are healthyヽ(=´▽`=)ノ It seems like they were conserving electricity as the projection mapping at the building entrance was not being displayed. First, warm your stomach with a rich chicken broth~♪ The chicken breast with wasabi allows you to compare the textures of two different types! Next, compare the thigh meat as well (๑´ڡ`๑) The Cynthia (potato) salad, eggplant with miso, simmered chicken with salt, mountain vegetables, hirumanju, and more. The dashimaki made with white egg yolks had a gentle sauce drizzled on top. The Stick Senor is broccoli in stick form! It's a Japanese breed with a mild taste. The luxury of combining daikon and karasumi with lean chicken breast...♡ The bowl of duck meat in white miso was moist and tender~! It's always a delight to find a restaurant with delicious duck meat! Sori lace, tsukune with grated radish, and half-cut somen noodles with ikura on top. The choice of small pot was chicken sukiyaki~(๑´ڡ`๑) Cherry shaved ice. The final small pot and rice really hit the spot! I was fullヽ(=´▽`=)ノ The craft lemon sour drink was apparently delicious as my friend kept getting refills. I tried a sake from Fukushima called "Niidashizenshu" but it was too sweet...

A normal and delicious yakitori restaurant, where each part of the chicken has a different taste and texture. However, the breast meat and the tenderloin were dry and not tasty at all. The mysterious side dishes were neither good nor bad. The service was slow, and the staff seemed inexperienced and hesitant in their communication. The location is good with a view of Tokyo Tower, but the food and service were disappointing for the price of around 10,000 yen per person. It may be awkward to go on a date with someone you don't know well.笑
