Visited in July 2021. On this day, we took a day trip drive and sightseeing to Arashiyama. We parked our car at a nearby coin parking near Arashiyama Station and crossed the Togetsukyo Bridge to arrive. Now... what to eat in Arashiyama!? When it comes to Kyoto, it has to be sweets ( ̄∇ ̄) Among the many sweet places, we chose this one! "Arashiyama no Mura" Here, you can enjoy traditional Japanese sweets such as "anmitsu," "zenzai," and shaved ice, as well as menu items like negiyaki to satisfy your hunger. There was one group waiting, so we wrote our names on the waiting list and entered the store in less than 10 minutes... Inside the store, there is an open kitchen on the left and table seats lined up towards the back on the right side. Upon closer inspection, covers were installed on the air conditioning vents to ensure that the air does not blow directly onto the customers, showing efforts to create a comfortable space. Our order was as follows! - Shiratama Cream Anmitsu (Matcha Ice Cream) - Tanbo Koori (Shaved Ice) - Kiwami It's so hot with temperatures hovering around 35 degrees every day, so something cold is perfect, right~ ■ Shiratama Cream Anmitsu We chose matcha ice cream over vanilla and poured the attached black honey over it before enjoying it! At the bottom, there are diced agar jelly, topped with shiratama, matcha ice cream, sweet red bean paste, banana, kiwi, pineapple, cherry, mandarin orange, yellow peach, and a rare apple simmered in wine, a luxurious lineup of fruits!! When you enjoy the fruits along with the agar jelly, it has a very gentle flavor that makes you feel relaxed and at ease (laughs). Ah, it's so soothing (*´∀`) ■ Tanbo Koori - Kiwami A slightly kinako-covered shaved ice with Kyoto black bean kinako syrup, shiratama dumplings soaked in hot water, and red beans as a set. Young female staff: "The ice melts easily, so please enjoy by gradually pouring the syrup." So, after pouring a little kinako syrup on the ice, you can top it with shiratama and sweet red bean paste by yourself!! The kinako syrup is incredibly fragrant and delicious~ (≧▽≦) Yum! As the staff said, the ice is a fluffy type that melts like snow in your mouth. In the case of kinako syrup, the flavor tends to weaken as the ice melts, but this syrup remains strong until the end. The atmosphere of the store is also good, and the staff explains the products clearly, making it easy to understand. We had a very pleasant time. Now that our stomachs have settled a bit with Japanese sweets, let's go sightseeing in Arashiyama! That's all for today.
