After visiting the Golden Pavilion, we had shaved ice. We ordered two Premium Uji Matcha shaved ice for 650 yen each and shared them among four people. We enjoyed them on the bench in the back of the shop, shaped like a "コ". It was shady, but a bit humid as the wind couldn't pass through. The fluffy shaved ice was generously covered with matcha powder, starting with a slight bitterness before revealing a rich matcha flavor. At the bottom, there was soft serve ice cream. It was a perfect balance, and we shared it while competing for bites. We had been comparing shaved ice prices and quality since yesterday, and we found that this one had excellent value for its price and content.

Purchased for a 3rd grade boy who loves dango. Got kinako dango and Kyoto matcha dango. The dango are made with Uji matcha and topped with plenty of kinako for a kids-friendly treat.

It was a hot, very hot day. I was able to enjoy my shaved ice until the very end. After receiving my order, there was a covered eating area like a gazebo where I could sit and eat slowly. They served it in a tray, so I could enjoy it without spilling on my clothes!

I ordered Uji matcha shaved ice for 650 yen. It was a relief to find a resting space after walking around the Golden Pavilion in the heat. The Uji matcha shaved ice was larger than I expected, with vanilla ice cream topped with shaved ice, Uji matcha syrup, and stone-ground Uji matcha. It was just the right size for two people. They also offer dango and matcha soft serve. It's for takeout, but there are plenty of benches around to sit and enjoy your treat.

There is a shop inside the Kinkaku-ji temple. It is located near the exit after paying the admission fee. I bought the premium Uji matcha soft serve with gold powder for 650 yen. I thought it would be matcha-flavored soft serve, but it had matcha powder sprinkled all over, which seemed to be ground in a stone mill. There was more matcha powder than gold powder, so if you eat it without knowing, you might choke on the powder. However, it had a strong matcha flavor, giving it a premium taste. Thank you for the meal.

Inside the grounds of Kinkaku-ji, there is a souvenir shop. I happened to pass by, so I went in! "Excuse me! I just visited Kinkaku-ji, old man!" "Welcome! (*´▽`*)" "They have gold leaf soft serve and mitarashi dango and other things!" "Please wait a moment! (*´▽`*)" Wow, it's been a while since I visited Kinkaku-ji as a kid! About 80% of the tourists are from overseas! I can't hear any Japanese! By the way, what's the entrance fee for a temple? It's strange that you need money to enter a temple, isn't it? And then, here it comes. First, matcha soft serve... *bite* Wow! Delicious! It's rich with real matcha powder! Yum! Next, I tried the mitarashi dango... *bite* Wow! Delicious! It's generously covered in sauce! Yum! And then, matcha mitarashi dango... *bite* Wow! Delicious! It has a strong matcha flavor! So tasty! Oh, but it really hits the spot after walking so much. Along the way, there are two places where you throw money into a stone hole for good luck. What's the meaning behind that? What happens if you do that, Kinkaku-ji? Thank you for the treat! #Kinkaku-ji, a temple that earns money from visitors #Go To Eat #Kyoto #Sweets

Near Kinkaku-ji Temple, there is a traditional Japanese sweets shop that seems to have many branches. The shop is located near the entrance of Kinkaku-ji Temple and sells dumplings and soft serve ice cream. I ordered the premium Uji matcha soft serve for 600 yen and the mitarashi dango for 170 yen. The Uji matcha soft serve is topped with gold leaf and matcha powder, with a strong matcha flavor. The mitarashi dango is a freshly baked dumpling with a crispy exterior and a slightly sweet taste. I recommend trying them when visiting Kinkaku-ji Temple.

There is a shop inside the grounds of Kinkaku-ji Temple where you can enjoy rich Uji matcha soft serve ice cream! The matcha flavor in the soft serve is more pronounced than the matcha powder itself. The main store is located near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, offering bean sweets and traditional Japanese sweets. If you want to enjoy soft serve ice cream or dango near Kinkaku-ji Temple, be sure to visit! #Kinkakuji #Kinkakuji restaurant #Ice cream restaurant #Matcha restaurant #Matsumasa #36 restaurant #February 19th

This is a shop located at the end of the route within the Kinkaku-ji temple grounds. I felt like taking a break and ended up eating here. There are several benches around the shop. Menu items ordered: - Tofu pork bun: It was warm and delicious, perfect for cold days. - Grilled matcha dango: It was okay. - Kyoto-style mitarashi dango: It was good. Today, drive safely, Nishinorin signing off!

Kyoto, Kyoto City. Kinkaku-ji Temple. After the rain, Kinkaku-ji Temple looked stunning. Such a nice atmosphere. Took a leisurely stroll and got tired, then found a sweet shop. Matcha soft serve for 380 yen, Mitarashi dango for 170 yen. Craving something sweet. Delicious. Japanese people find tea calming, but I wonder how it is for foreigners. Quite a few foreigners were eating. The Mitarashi dango was warm, soft, and slightly burnt for a nice texture and delicious taste. Thank you for the meal.

Inside the precincts of Kinkaku-ji, there was a shop selling soft serve ice cream and souvenirs. I decided to take a break and bought a regular soft serve ice cream. It wasn't too hot, but it was nice to sit on the bench in front of the shop and enjoy the ice cream after looking around the temple. It was a simple flavor, not matcha, but it tasted good in the serene atmosphere of the temple. The price was reasonable too, not overly expensive like in other tourist spots. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to see Kinkaku-ji so I rushed there, thinking it opened at 6 am, but it actually opens at 9 am. I arrived 30 minutes early and noticed others arriving around the same time. The gate doesn't open even a minute early. I think I heard that Mitarashi dango originated in Kyoto, but I might be mistaken.

I visited Kinkaku-ji (^-^) on a high school field trip, a girls' trip as adults, when my kids were little... and now with my family. In my first visit to Kyoto, everywhere I walked, I was surrounded by delicious food and never had a bad experience. While exploring Kinkaku-ji and fully immersing myself in the Kyoto atmosphere, I came across a sign for matcha soft serve ice cream that caught my eye. It was large, rich in matcha flavor, and incredibly delicious - a satisfying soft serve indeed! There are also luxurious soft serves with gold leaf at bus stops and souvenir shops, but the 350 yen soft serve at the Kinkaku-ji gift shop offers great value in terms of taste and portion size.

I was looking for a place to have lunch near Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto, but all the restaurants that came up in my online search seemed too crowded to get in quickly. However, I noticed a flag for "tofu pork buns" inside the grounds of Mame-Masashi before entering the paid area. I ordered at the counter and picked up my food at the pick-up window. There is an eat-in space in the back, and there are many benches outdoors, so you can sit down and eat. The menu includes tofu pork buns, green tea dumplings, Kyoto-style mitarashi dango, and a Kinkakuji Temple exclusive: soft serve ice cream with gold flakes. I ordered the Kyoto-style mitarashi dango, green tea dumplings, and tofu pork buns. The taste wasn't exceptional, but it was nice to be able to sit and eat without waiting.

Dojozen Kinkakuji Temple Shop, Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto City, Kita-ku, Kinkakuji-cho 1. It's cold but looks delicious~ Matcha ice cream and warm mitarashi dango. Just the right sweetness and delicious! It's a perfect treat after touring the temple and feeling tired. It's located right after entering Kinkakuji Temple, so be sure to try it before exploring the temple. It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had matcha soft serve and shaved ice. It was extremely hot and I couldn't bear it, so I bought them. The soft serve was rich and creamy. Be careful as the matcha powder might stain your clothes. The shaved ice had soft serve inside. It was pleasantly sweet and cooling. On hot days, I think shaved ice is better than soft serve.

It's a luxury to be able to stroll around Kinkaku-ji Temple during the New Year in Kansai. Ironically, Kyoto, where there are no foreign tourists, has a charming atmosphere. However, it's a complex feeling when considering the economy. I found a shop later discovered to be a famous long-established store in Kyoto. The shop doesn't have seating inside, so I enjoyed my food on a bench outside, which added to the charm. I tried the following items: Tofu pork bun for 350 yen and Kyoto-style mitarashi dango for 170 yen. The tofu pork bun had a soft taste with white dough and white filling, which may be lacking for a pork bun, but the atmosphere of Kinkaku-ji Temple in Kyoto made it feel like a precious experience. The taste of tofu was not very noticeable. The Kyoto-style mitarashi dango had a delicious sauce with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. It had a refined taste that was a step above. Perhaps due to the reputation of the shop or the location, the prices were a bit high. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

This is a soft serve ice cream shop located inside Kinkaku-ji Temple. While there are other shops nearby that sell gold leaf soft serve, this is the only place that offers gold foil ice cream. It's a common treat at tourist spots, and even though I don't usually eat it, I couldn't resist trying it with the temple's golden color in mind. It comes with white mochi balls and is quite delicious, but at 920 yen, it's a bit pricey for a soft serve.

This is a shop located to the right after entering the gate of Kinkaku-ji Temple, selling soft serve ice cream and other snacks, likely operated by Azukiya. On December 29, 2019 (2nd day of a trip back home), the weather was great from the morning. With no specific plans, I decided to visit Kinkaku-ji Temple for a souvenir quest in Dragon Quest Walk due to the excellent weather. Checking the access from the hotel between Shijo and Gojo on the Karasuma subway line to Kinkaku-ji Temple seemed troublesome, so I took a taxi nearby the hotel. When I tried to go to the restaurant on the 1st floor of the hotel for breakfast, there was a long line. Since I left without having breakfast, I was delighted to find this shop. When I looked at the menu, I found "Tofu Pork Bun" (350 yen) and immediately bought 2. It may be a bit pricey that I wouldn't usually buy, but for us who missed breakfast, it felt like a helping hand was extended. I paid and received the buns at the shop window, then sat on a nearby bench to enjoy them. Despite the good weather, the temperature was somewhat low in winter, so eating the warm pork buns made me feel warm inside and out. The taste was light, so some may find it a bit unsatisfying, but it was just right for a morning meal.

Today, I visited Mame Masashi. Taste: ★★★ Service: ★★★ Atmosphere: ★★★★ Cost performance: ★★★ Drink: ★★★
I stopped by Kyoto on a day trip and visited Mame Masashi located inside Kinkaku-ji. They were selling delicious chocolates and vanilla, but I bought their premium matcha soft serve. It had matcha powder and gold flakes on top. Since it was melting, I had to eat it quickly. It was a bit simple in taste, but the location couldn't be better. Thank you for the meal.
