It's Kyoto! I had lunch in Demachiyanagi, relaxed at Rakuhoku Renge-ji, and then headed to Miyake Hachimangu Shrine. This shrine is known for protecting children and gets busy during Shichi-Go-San season, with many amulets for sale. Instead of guardian dogs, they have guardian doves. White doves are considered messengers of the gods, and although I didn't see any at that time, they were selling dove food. The shrine's tea shop sells dove-shaped rice cakes, which can also be eaten inside the shop. I took some home, and they can last for about 2 days at room temperature. Made from rice flour, they have a simple taste. There are three flavors: white, matcha, and brown sugar. They have a soft texture, similar to three-colored dumplings. The white one has a hint of brown sugar flavor, the brown sugar one has a clear taste, and the matcha one has a subtle matcha flavor. They are simple and light rice cakes. After that, I took the Eizan Electric Railway from Hachiman-mae Station to Kino Station and headed to Myoman-ji Temple of the Nichiren sect. Thank you for the meal~
