I took the 10,000 yen course from Osaka to Beltra, which I had previously gifted to my parents. They warned me not to expect too much from the food, so I wasn't expecting it to be very delicious. However, the curry, conger eel tempura, and desserts were surprisingly tasty. I left feeling satisfied and full.

I visited the cafe or foot bath located at the back of the first floor as an option of JTB Tour. Originally, I planned to just have tea and rusk as a break, but I found something interesting and decided to order. It was a rice cup with pickled Kyoto vegetables and shredded mountain pepper mentaiko. The rice was mixed with mentaiko, making it spicy, and the shredded mountain pepper and Kyoto pickles were perfect accompaniments to the rice, making it very delicious. The soft texture of the rolled omelette in between also served as a nice palate cleanser. It was a perfect amount for a light snack, priced at 580 yen, and I was very satisfied.

After getting tired from walking in Arashiyama and finding all other shops crowded, we managed to get a seat at this one. They have indoor and terrace seating. I ordered the warm yuba udon, which was reasonably priced and comforting. The view from the restaurant was great during the autumn foliage season, and we were able to relax on the terrace. It was not crowded on the weekday we visited, but it might be a problem during busy times with foreign visitors just sitting without ordering anything.

Is this a place where tour bus drivers and staff use? Even though it was noon, it was empty so tour guests were wandering around the buffet on the second floor, ordering and being called by receipt number. I ordered a parent-child rice bowl and a small udon set. The Chinese people around me were all ordering yuba udon. The visually appealing products arrived in about 10 minutes, but were they retort products? Anyway, the visuals were not bad, and it was easy to eat, especially the chicken. It was a bit. I should have ordered the egg bowl.

I went to this restaurant for lunch on a day trip bus tour with Club Tourism. I was hesitant to use bus tours during the pandemic, but this tour included a visit to a cherry blossom spot that I really wanted to go to and was hard to book individually, so I decided to join. I used to use bus tours frequently in the past, but the lunches were always mediocre. However, this time it was not bad. The dining space was spacious and clean, and the staff were all very friendly, which was the best part. The meal included plenty of seasonal ingredients like bamboo shoots and strawberries, which made me happy. The taste of the Kyoto cuisine was a bit strong for my liking, but as a lunch buffet, it was decent (excluding higher-end hotels). Overall, it was not bad.

Today we visited Arashiyama for sightseeing. After arriving at Arashiyama on the Hankyu train a little after 1pm, we had lunch at Masuba. We ended up at this restaurant without a reservation because the popular ones were full and this one had "Arashiyama" in its name. The restaurant was quite spacious with only 6-7 customers in total. It seemed like they would struggle without group reservations. From our window seat, we could overlook the Katsura River. The buffet cost 2,200 yen (discounted to 2,000 yen) for 60 minutes of all-you-can-eat. I'm not a big fan of buffets as I eat less these days. The food was slightly below the level of the breakfast buffet at AP◯ Hotel. There wasn't anything particularly unique to Kyoto in the dishes. There were several dessert options, but I decided to save my appetite for another place. This restaurant is good for those who want a quiet and leisurely meal, but if you're visiting Arashiyama from another prefecture and looking for Kyoto-style cuisine, I recommend making a reservation at a popular restaurant in advance.

A well-designed building and dishes to accommodate a large number of tourists. It's like a self-service sukiyaki style, but overall not bad. It has a sense of cleanliness and is better than big chain cheap shabu shabu restaurants.

The restaurant we visited on a bus tour. There was only one small group besides us, but the food hadn't been served yet, so we had to wait near the entrance. It made us have less time to buy souvenirs (^^;) After waiting for a while, we were seated. Let's eat. The taste was okay. Even though it was dinner time, all the dishes were cold. The only warm thing was the tea. The people around us were saying the same thing. We were able to enjoy the sights of Kyoto.

On November 24th, I went on a tour to Kyoto. After visiting Tofukuji Temple, we went to Arashiyama, which was crowded with people. We had the option to skip lunch, but I decided to pre-order a meal for 2000 yen because I was worried about not being able to find a place to eat due to the crowds. There were many other tour groups as well, and I ordered the "Kyosairi Ichidonyu Tofu Set Meal" with coffee and foot bath. Although it was a bit expensive, it was worth it as it was difficult to find a place to eat in Arashiyama during the autumn foliage holidays. The tofu was light but flavorful. According to the tour guide, there are no other places in Kyoto where buses can stop for lunch besides Arashiyama, so it is inevitable that lunch will be in Arashiyama.

I experienced a hot tofu dish that was boiling like a pot of hell, with a quick order to eat it. It felt like being a twisted chicken in a poultry farm.

The second visit, as a restaurant for bus tours. The spring bamboo shoot dishes were delicious, but the year-end solo hot pot meals were not as good!

It can accommodate a large group for dining. Great for grilled chicken skewers.

During a short trip to Kyoto, I had lunch in Arashiyama and had a great view of Togetsukyo Bridge from the window seat. The lunch was a buffet with a time limit of 50 minutes, so it's better to go before 11:30 am. Around noon, there is a sudden increase in foreign tour groups, so the food on the plates disappears quickly. A glass of draft beer costs 500 yen. They had Warabi (bracken fern) salad, which was delicious this time of year.

On November 19, 2017 (Sunday) at 1:52 PM (according to the receipt), I visited a tourist bus parking lot that also serves as a souvenir shop in Kyoto and Nara. The Togetsukyo Bridge in the area was extremely crowded, resembling a storm of tourists. There was a section for "new sake" at the souvenir shop, where I purchased a bottle of Tanba Sake Brewery's Junmai sake for 1850 yen. Despite the high price, the sake had a clean and refreshing taste, making it worth the purchase.

I gave a somewhat harsh rating, but it is still a major tourist spot and therefore crowded with customers. This means there are not enough staff to handle the excessive number of customers, resulting in slow service. It can be difficult to get a drink even when you want one. Additionally, the place can get noisy with group tourists. However, there are some good points. Although the alcohol prices were high, the food prices were relatively reasonable and there is a wide variety of side dishes. In other words, you can drink alcohol (laughs). Most importantly, there is no bad food. This is a good point. There is also a buffet available, but if you find it troublesome to keep going back and forth, you can make a reservation for a set meal and relax. On the first floor, there is a souvenir shop where you can buy almost all of Kyoto's souvenirs. There is also a foot bath where you can relax your tired feet. The parking lot is large enough for large tourist buses, so it is natural to have many group tourists. It may not be suitable for those who want to eat quietly. The location is right next to Togetsukyo Bridge, making it easy to find and a good base point for sightseeing in Arashiyama.

Lunch was a Kyoto obanzai buffet at Arashiyama restaurant. It was quite crowded with groups and foreigners. The selection included various dishes like fried shrimp and shumai, but the replenishment was not enough, leaving some plates empty. I wasn't sure which dishes were Kyoto obanzai, so I settled for yuba and pickles. The only standout dish was tempura of fresh Yatsuhashi. I also had two cups of sake, so I left feeling satisfied.

Today, I went on a day trip by bus and had lunch at a restaurant called "Kyoto Obanzai Buffet Hinata Moe" on the 2nd floor of Arashiyama. The restaurant offers a stunning view of Arashiyama and Togetsukyo Bridge, as well as a variety of seasonal Kyoto dishes and tofu. There are over 60 dishes available for all-you-can-eat, including seasonal obanzai and tofu dishes, a salad bar, dessert bar, and unlimited soft drinks (alcohol is extra). I enjoyed trying a little bit of everything, from nama-fu to chirimen-dofu gohan. I must have gone back for seconds multiple times! The food was beyond my expectations in terms of quality and taste. I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied.
