Kyoto is just too hot. I ate a mountain of ice cream, but no matter how much I ate, it wasn't enough. On my way back from giving up on Fushimi Inari halfway through, even though I wasn't tired from climbing, I couldn't resist getting soft serve ice cream at a famous shop known for not falling even when turned upside down! I like both soy milk and matcha, so I usually don't mix them, but I decided to try it out this time!! The staff reassured me that it was okay to turn it upside down, so I chickened out and had them do it haha. I was so satisfied to take a picture of it ^_^; It was nerve-wracking just watching it, there's no way I could do it myself!! The taste was really good, with the soy milk being very rich and delicious! The matcha, on the other hand, seemed a little lacking in richness, maybe because I had tried various ones at other shops. Also, the cone is limited to the type commonly found with gelato. I'm not a fan of cones other than waffle cones, so I thought it would be nice to have the option to choose a cup or a waffle cone (even though I think not many people would choose that). The shop in front of me was closed for lunch break. On a hot and humid day with a passing shower and 30 degrees, wouldn't you want to eat tofu ice cream? I bought tofu ice cream. Instead of milk, it mainly uses soy milk, with a little bit of cream added for richness. After putting the ice cream on the cone, the owner turned it upside down and said, "It's because of this stickiness," but the tofu ice cream didn't fall. I thought it might have a subtle flavor, but I was surprised by the rich taste of soy milk. It feels like eating a rich tofu dessert. Since soy milk itself has sweetness, the amount of sugar is less than regular ice cream, with a refreshing sweetness and no artificial taste, and a good aftertaste. This is a delicious treat that makes you hum with delight. I also tried turning it diagonally and upside down. It definitely doesn't fall. The owner warned me to be careful because it might fall if shaken. It's supported only by the joint of the cone, which is filled with a lot of ice cream, so that's why it doesn't fall. So, I also bought the Uji matcha tofu ice cream. The matcha flavor is strong, and it's also delicious. The texture is thick and rich, with a viscosity that doesn't fall even when turned upside down. After finishing my visit to Fushimi Inari Shrine and heading towards Fushimi Inari Station, I stopped by this place. They only offer takeout items such as soft serve ice cream, ice cream, pudding, and donuts. I had decided to try their soft serve ice cream that doesn't fall even when turned upside down. They had options like Silken Tofu (350 yen), Uji Matcha Tofu (400 yen), and Double Tofu with two flavors (350 yen). I ordered the Double Tofu so I could taste both Silken Tofu and Uji Matcha Tofu. When I nervously turned it upside down, it really didn't fall. That's how firm their soft serve is. It's lighter compared to regular milk soft serve, but you can taste the gentle tofu flavor, and it was so delicious that I wanted more. The Uji Matcha Tofu had a rich matcha flavor, and it was also quite delicious. It was so delicious that I was moved, and I want to eat it again. The only downside was that there was no eat-in space. I had to eat it in a less crowded area near the station.

After finishing our meal, we returned to the Fushimi Inari parking lot, where we found this place. We were drawn to it and decided to order one to share due to the somewhat high price. It was refreshing and delicious. If you're interested, it's located in front of the station, so be sure to try it out on your way back from Fushimi Inari.

Before boarding the train home, my partner made a discovery (^^;) It was my second time trying the soy milk donut, and it was quite lightly sweetened. However, this time it was too lightly sweetened for me (especially without a drink and a bit dry), making me feel like I was choking and slightly unsatisfied (-- ) According to the staff, it's delicious if lightly toasted in a toaster. Toasting it as suggested resulted in a crispy exterior and moist interior with just the right amount of sweetness! The store is apparently the Arashiyama branch and the Fushimi Inari branch. Perhaps they cater to tourists?

In early December 2018, near Fushimi Inari Station, I came across a cat cafe called TiME and decided to take a city bus. However, I was intrigued by the sweets at Kyoto Mamean on the way, so I decided to try their specialty tofu ice cream while waiting for the bus. I had obtained permission to take photos during the 2018 Nara Marathon, so I took some pictures of the tofu ice cream before enjoying it. The tofu ice cream was smooth and had a subtle tofu flavor that was not overpowering. It was a soft serve that I found quite delightful. The shop also offered gelato, rich soy milk, and soy milk donuts, providing a variety of soy-based sweets all year round. Although I resisted the temptation to try more, I found it interesting that in Kyoto, known for traditional Japanese sweets, there was a shop specializing in soy-based Western-style sweets similar to a shop in Sendai. Overall, it was a satisfying experience. Thank you.

I visited a shop in Fushimi Inari, even though the main shop is in Arashiyama, Kyoto. I bought the "Double Tofu Soft Serve Ice Cream with 2 Flavors" limited to Fushimi Inari shop for 350 yen. It was a combination of smooth tofu soft serve and Uji matcha soft serve. The Uji matcha soft serve is exclusive to the Fushimi Inari shop. Even when turned upside down, it doesn't fall! It was amazing. The taste was different from regular soft serve, with a refined sweetness and a hint of soy creating a depth of flavor in the tofu soft serve. The Uji matcha was also rich, as expected from Kyoto. It was a soft serve that made me want to eat it again.

While sightseeing at Fushimi Inari, I stopped by Kyoto Tofu-an's Fushimi Inari branch for some food tasting (^.^) The area around Fushimi Inari Station is a fun spot for food hopping. I ordered the Silken Tofu Soft Serve. It's a dessert that's perfect for Instagram! It's amazing how it doesn't fall even when turned upside down! It seems like they use 100% silken tofu. I could really taste the tofu in it. It's rich and delicious (^.^) If you like tofu, you're sure to enjoy it. Maybe because of the high tofu content, it wasn't too cold for an ice cream. The sweetness was just right, and I thought it was healthy.
