I occasionally visit this shop in Kyoto when teleworking. It's really close to my home. Today, I stopped by after shopping. It was lunchtime and somewhat crowded, but since there is no parking lot, there was no line and I settled at the counter. The price of just ramen is reasonable, but the set meals like fried rice or combo sets are also a good deal. I ordered the Szechuan ramen and mini fried rice set. The soup base is pork bone, but it's creamy and mild. The special meat miso is the key to the flavor, making it deliciously spicy. The thin noodles are refreshing and smooth. The fried rice is also full of meat miso flavor. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Oosan's restaurant. They don't have many dishes on the menu, but I actually visit quite often. For lunch, they offer noodle dishes and fried rice sets for around 1,000 yen. The place is often crowded with customers at the counter and tables. I always order the Szechuan ramen. The soup base is chicken broth-based, but the soup itself is emulsified. The normal version is not very spicy, more on the creamy side. It has a meat miso that blends well with the soup and is also used in the fried rice. When served, the soup is so hot that it's almost burning, which I like. Thank you for the meal.

Great cost performance and delicious taste. I visited for lunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit messy and very busy, but the authentic Sichuan ramen was not too spicy or too sweet. The mapo tofu set meal was well seasoned and delicious. The cost performance is also good... I want to visit this place again!

The order is the Negi Tantanmen with Karaage set. The standard is mildly spicy, so even those who don't like spicy food should be okay. You can also order it spicy, so I ordered it spicy. When it's mildly spicy, it's like Dan Dan noodles, but when you order it spicy, it becomes a proper Sichuan ramen. It's not too spicy either, so you can still finish the soup.

I searched for fried rice near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Kamishichiken and found "Sichuan Ramen Da". I ordered "Large Fried Rice (¥550)", "Medium Spicy Negi Ramen (¥750)", and "Mapo Tofu (¥600)" upon arrival. All of them were delicious and I finished them all.

Visited around 6:30 pm on Saturday, September 18, 2021. It was really crowded with lots of families. Seems like this place is popular among families. I ordered the mini size of the Sichuan ramen for sharing. Had to wait quite a bit until it was served, but it's understandable because of the crowd. The presentation was similar to the colorful ramen from Nara. However, the soup wasn't as spicy as I expected. It was extremely hot though! Just the right amount of noodles. Enjoyed the soup thoroughly and finished it all.

I went for lunch. The restaurant has counter and table seats. The menu has pictures that make it hard to choose between ramen and mapo tofu set meal. I decided on a spicy mapo tofu rice bowl in large size. I also ordered a small size of negi ramen after seeing the customer next to me enjoying it. Both dishes were spicy. The negi ramen wasn't as spicy as it looked. The mapo tofu rice bowl got spicier towards the end. Overall, the flavors were delicious and everything tasted good. The restaurant was full and there was a line.

"The master said, 'Big-chan has the most skill. He's better than Appare-ya and Kirari.' Finally, after hearing this, I mustered up the courage to visit the furthest shop from the main store. It's been 13 years since it opened. The atmosphere inside the shop is not very bright. The owner has a stoic vibe, reminiscent of a monk in training. I ordered the Szechuan ramen and fried rice set. The fried rice was moist and flavorful, with a good texture. It may appeal to those who appreciate Fuji's fried rice. The Szechuan ramen arrived next. The portion of noodles and vegetables was larger than at other shops, maybe even more than at Suminoe. The noodles were thin, not the usual ultra-thin kind, and seemed quite generic. The soup was slightly creamy, with a hint of white broth, giving it a mellow taste. It's chicken broth-based, but similar to a pork bone white broth like 'kossari.' As it's not very spicy, those accustomed to Szechuan ramen may want to order it spicy. Despite being the only customer, the efficient cooking process showed that there is indeed skill here. I'd like to try other items on the menu if I have the chance."

This is a shop I often visit because it's near my house. I recommend the negi ramen - it's just the right amount of spicy. They also have non-spicy regular ramen available. Everything I've tried here is delicious. It's one of my top favorite shops.

I had Sichuan ramen! It was like a mix between tantanmen and champon. Easy to eat and delicious.

The speed of updating reviews is quite slow, but I will write gradually. I thought I had finished reviewing Kyoto, but there were still a few more places (laughs). I visited this shop in June 2015 and I have a very good impression of it. It looks like a Chinese and noodle restaurant. During the day, taxi drivers often stop by. There are many types of noodles to enjoy. As for the tantanmen, it's not that spicy. ※There are various definitions of tantanmen, but originally it was a dish flavored with minced pork and sesame using doubanjiang, with the emphasis on the sweetness of sesame and pork fat rather than spiciness. The shop said, "We can make it spicier." Normally I would order champon, but on this day I wanted to try the sesame-based tantanmen and karaage (laughs). The seasoning for the karaage, like a dipping salt, was delicious with curry powder mixed in. The tantanmen was not extremely spicy but delicious, although I remember thinking I would ask for it a bit spicier next time. It may vary by preference, but I observed that there are many regular fans, including students, at this shop. I apologize for only going once, but I would like to go again if I have the chance. By the way, I ordered the "Spicy Green Onion Ramen" regular size for 750 yen and added the karaage set for 200 yen, and I was satisfied (laughs). ※Other options include Sichuan spicy ramen, soy sauce spicy ramen, champon, and plate udon. The three sizes of noodles (mini, regular, large) show consideration for female customers, which is wonderful. The fried rice also looked delicious (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

It was my first visit, so normally I should have gone for something like Sichuan ramen, but I was in the mood for casual Chinese food, so I ended up ordering typical Chinese dishes. And as usual, I always end up ordering the same things, haha. There were no dumplings, so I tried the soup dumplings instead. They were definitely not like regular dumplings, but they were good when enjoyed as a soup. Then, I had the classic plate of udon noodles. The noodles were thin and delicious, especially with lots of mustard for that crunchy snack-like experience. Towards the end, the noodles melted in my mouth, which was lovely. I also ordered the fried chicken, which was really tasty. It had a curry flavor, but not too overpowering, with a magical seasoning that made it addictive. I would love to have this with rice. In the end, I ended up focusing more on eating than drinking, haha.

When you feel like eating Sichuan ramen, come and visit this place♪ I decided to stop by on my way back from Kitayama because I was in the mood for it. When I entered the restaurant, it was a bit late and there were only a few customers. I was guided to a table and I ordered the "Sichuan Ramen with Karaage Set." The karaage set was an additional 200 yen on top of the ramen price. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and I dug in. The soup had an oily appearance, and when I tasted it, I could smell the sesame flavor. The soup had a creamy texture, a hint of sweetness, and a gentle spiciness, leaning towards a tan-tan flavor. I particularly liked the flavor of the cabbage in the soup. The noodles were medium-thin and had a firm texture. The toppings included ground meat, cabbage, and komatsuna, all of which paired well with the soup. The karaage was slightly juicy with a mild saltiness. It was served with a mysterious orange powder on the side, which had a salty and curry-like spice to it. It was interesting and added a unique flavor to the karaage. Overall, the meal was enjoyable and had good value for money. Thank you for the meal!

Located along Senbon Street (near Teranochi intersection) is Szechuan Ramen Oosan. From the name, I thought it was a ramen shop, but they offer a variety of Chinese dishes including Szechuan ramen, green onion ramen, champon, and other Chinese dishes. It seems like there are many restaurants these days that offer a combination of Chinese cuisine and ramen.
What I ordered:
- Szechuan Ramen (regular size - 600 yen)
- Mini fried rice (350 yen)
It was my first time, so I tried the plain Szechuan ramen. It was filled with vegetables like Chinese cabbage. The soup looked oily and spicy, but it was actually more sweet and savory than spicy. I found the soup quite enjoyable. The fried rice was average, I prefer it a bit more oily. They have a wide variety of menu items including green onion ramen, champon, and other Chinese dishes, so I might visit again to try more dishes.
