On a holiday afternoon around 12 o'clock, my family of two entered a restaurant where it was already full and one group was waiting. We received a waiting number paper from the waiting list device and sat in the waiting area near the entrance. After about 15 minutes, we were guided to a table in the tatami room at the back. A fragrant and elegant tea was served promptly. We ordered Duck Seiro Soba for 1,680 yen, Inari Sushi for 300 yen, and my companion ordered Ebi Oroshi Udon for 1,380 yen. The Duck Seiro Soba, which arrived in about 15 minutes, had a sweet and pleasant scent to the dipping sauce, which paired well with the slightly firm soba. However, the soba itself seemed to lack fragrance. The Inari Sushi had nothing particularly notable about the fried tofu or the sushi rice, and overall, the flavors were a bit bland and somewhat disappointing. For those who enjoy soba and inari sushi, it was a bit underwhelming.

When I visited Fushimi Inari and felt like eating soba, I decided to stop by this place. It was the middle of the Obon holiday, but the restaurant had a decent number of seats and the turnover of customers seemed quick. I ordered the tempura set meal, and the green tea soba was particularly delicious.

At first, I thought the place looked small, but there was a tatami room with a sunken hearth in the back. There were also foreign customers, and the staff treated everyone politely. The mackerel sushi was delicious. The mochi was not crispy, but chewy.

I went to Fushimi Inari Hike for lunch. They have a system where you take a number tag and scan a QR code to see your order status, so I had time to browse and buy souvenirs while waiting. The menu offers soba, cha-soba, udon, and hamburg, among other choices. I chose the udon with shrimp and grated radish set because I really wanted to try the Inari sushi. The side dishes that day included sashimi and warabi mochi, all of which were delicious. The restaurant had a beautiful garden and spacious seating, allowing me to relax and enjoy my meal.

I went to Kano-ko in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto. You can see the garden from the back parlor. My partner had the Tempura Zaru Soba set for 2040 yen, which includes two types of soba noodles. I had the Ebi Oroshi Soba set for 1820 yen, which includes small dishes like tofu salad, sea bream sashimi, and warabi mochi. It also comes with Inari sushi. The tempura was crispy and the shrimp was juicy. The soba noodles were delicious and smooth. The amount of soba-yu (soba dipping sauce) was a bit small. It might have been just for one person.

You can reach the street in front of Fushimi Inari Taisha Station (turn left after exiting the ticket gate) in about 2-3 minutes on foot. This is a restaurant mainly serving udon and soba noodles. It's a nice place to eat while enjoying the view of the garden. The staff were very attentive and constantly refilled our water, which was great.

They had good COVID-19 measures in place, such as temperature checks upon entry and spaced-out seating. It was almost 2 pm, but there were quite a few customers inside. My wife chose the soba set without hesitation, while I, although I wanted to eat soba, decided to try the recommended hamburger set. I had a bit of my wife's soba, and it was deliciously cold. However, the hamburger was just average. I had high expectations since it was recommended, but it was nothing special. Nevertheless, the restaurant had a stylish atmosphere and was conveniently located near Fushimi Inari Taisha and the station.

I ordered Kyoto-style herring soba, herculean cutlet with hamburger, nabeyaki set meal, mini mackerel sushi, and mini inari sushi. The menu is extensive, offering both Japanese and Western dishes. Despite the crowd, the food arrived after a short wait. It looks delicious, let's dig in! The herring soba is delicious, and the mini mackerel sushi and mini inari sushi are also tasty. Mysterious Gourmet Expedition in Fushimi. Today, we visited Fushimi Inari Shrine. On the way back, we found a udon and soba restaurant. There were a few people waiting outside, probably due to the New Year holiday. After about a 10-minute wait, we were seated in a traditional Japanese-style room with a sunken table. The atmosphere was quite charming, with a view of a small garden from the window. Since it was cold outside, I ordered a hot pot udon set (1250 yen) with inari sushi (300 yen). After a short wait, the dishes arrived. The udon was piping hot and cooked to perfection. It was slightly soft and the broth was delicious. The inari sushi was also very tasty. Overall, it was a great dining experience, especially for a restaurant near a tourist spot like Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Got off at JR Inari Station. Before visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha, decided to have lunch! So, strolled around the approach and found this restaurant. It seems like a soba restaurant, but they also have signs for mackerel sushi and hamburg steak. Upon entering the restaurant... the lighting was dim and had a calm atmosphere. Besides a large table, there were several other tables. There seemed to be a tatami room in the back. Since the tatami room seemed troublesome, sat at the corner of the large table. Started with a bottle of beer and looked at the menu. Ah... they have soba menu, set meals, hamburg steak, mackerel sushi, and even desserts. Although there may be other specialties in Fushimi Inari, decided to try these (laughs)... Ordered: - Japanese-style teriyaki hamburg steak for 900 yen - Hamburg steak for 900 yen (excluding tax) It was brought in 12-13 minutes. Both were thick and round hamburg steaks. They were soft but not very juicy, with a solid texture. The demiglace sauce on the hamburg steak was delicious, but personally, I preferred the Japanese-style teriyaki hamburg steak. However, the hamburg steak was tastier than expected. The portion was 200g, so it felt a bit lacking. Now, about this restaurant. As mentioned earlier, it's not clear what their specialty is, but the atmosphere inside was good, and the staff's service was pleasant. They came to refill the tea multiple times. I went for lunch after visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine! It was crowded everywhere, but I was able to get in here right away! The lighting was a bit dim, creating a calm atmosphere! When I visited Fushimi Inari Taisha, I had lunch. The weather was bad and cold, so I checked out a cafe with curry, tempura, and soba as options, but I wanted something warm to eat! So, I decided to go to Kanoko. I avoided the crowds by going after New Year's and on a bad weather day. I arrived a bit early and was grateful to be seated at a table with a view of the inner courtyard. The building had a narrow front but a deep interior, and the courtyard looked spacious! It was amazing to see such a place. Thanks to the rain, there was a sparkling feeling, and I could gaze outside while waiting. When I looked at the menu, I thought, "A hamburger recommendation at a Japanese restaurant?" It looked delicious... (laughs) My heart wavered, but in the end, I couldn't resist the cold, so I chose between herring soba or simmered dish. After some hesitation, I went with the simmered dish. Darling had the "Uji" set with tea soba. The broth was delicious, and the side dishes were satisfying! We even got hot water for the soba at the end, and both of us drank up all the broth. I'm curious about the herring soba and hamburger, so I want to challenge them next year.

I went thinking they had zaru soba, but they only had New Year's limited menu and there was no zaru soba, so I was disappointed...
