I had heard rumors about Moritake-san for a while, so I made a reservation for Sunday at around 3:00 pm and was able to get a table for 5:00 pm. When I arrived, all 6 tables were already reserved. I ordered a draft beer and a platter of thick-cut tongue and a selection of 5 premium meats. The thick-cut tongue was surprisingly delicious in both texture and flavor. The premium meats included fillet, skirt, tendon, kalbi, and lamp, and each one was excellent. It was the best meat I've ever had in Kyoto. The oiliness was not heavy, and the flavor and texture of the meat were outstanding. The cost performance was also great at 3980 yen. I was very satisfied with the 4 types of hormone (tripe, techan, crunchy, and mino) as well. The quality of the meat, cost performance, and service were all excellent. The only thing I wish for is slightly larger wine glasses.

There is a hidden gem of a yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto Katsura. I left it to the chef's choice and was not disappointed. We had a sashimi platter with black wagyu tongue sashimi, tongue yukke, and white fresh liver sashimi. The tongue yukke was especially delicious. We indulged in a variety of tongue cuts - tip, base, and thick slices. They were all so tasty, but the thick slices were particularly irresistible. We also had a special selection platter with marbled sirloin, top round, harami, hichizabuton, and kameno-ko. We enjoyed trying a little bit of everything, especially when paired with grated ponzu sauce. The hormone platter included four types of offal - liver, top tongue, tripe, and diaphragm. The meat was so tender and delicious. We were delighted when the meat tea-cured dish arrived as a perfect ending to our meal. Despite its remote location, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. We felt happy to savor rare and high-quality meat.

You can eat the best quality meat here. It melts in your mouth, not too fatty, and really delicious! I go on special occasions and look forward to that day. The staff is also friendly and the service is great!

I visited the restaurant one month after my last visit, and since it was a Saturday, all the famous restaurants in town were full with over an hour wait. I decided to call Moritake-san as waiting over an hour seemed faster there! I confirmed a vacancy over the phone and headed straight there. When I arrived, there were about 3 groups of customers already. This time, we had more people, so we ordered the tongue sashimi, tongue yukhoe, raw senmai (intestine), thick-cut tongue, salted tongue, and a platter of five kinds of tongue. Additionally, we added 4 types of offal and cold noodles. The offal included honeycomb tripe, teppanyaki (rectum), tendon, and heart. The tendon was particularly delicious. The tongue sashimi was as delicious as ever, surpassing all the other dishes. The tongue yukhoe also had a slightly less intense flavor compared to last time. The cold noodles were Morioka-style, with a broth similar to Chinese cold noodles but still delicious. I was very satisfied this time as well. I look forward to visiting again.

I was a little curious about Moritake-san. Although his place was a bit far from my home, I usually went to a yakiniku restaurant nearby his place, so this time I decided to visit his place. When I called to check for availability, they said there was a table open and they were waiting for me. I quickly headed to the restaurant and parked in front of the building where there were a few parking spots available. When I entered, we were the only customers there. Maybe because it was a weekday? I ordered some raw dishes like tongue sashimi, tongue yukhoe, and white raw intestine, as well as side dishes like kimchi assortment and changja roll. We also had thick-cut tongue, tongue salt, recommended five kinds of meat assortment, and a dessert of mixed ice cream. The white cabbage kimchi was delicious, and I asked if they sold it somewhere, but they said they only supply it to their restaurant, which was a bit disappointing. The tongue sashimi was really tasty, but the tongue yukhoe was a bit too spicy for my liking. The white raw intestine was also delicious, but I ended up eating mostly the tongue sashimi because it was so good. The tongue salt was incredibly tasty, and even though the thick-cut tongue was thick, it was tender. The recommended five kinds of meat assortment was too much for two people, and we were already full just from that. We tried to order the changja roll to lighten things up, but it was bigger than we expected, and we couldn't finish it. Lastly, the staff kindly offered us a small portion of raw meat sashimi, which was hard to come by. The staff was very kind and the restaurant was fantastic. I would like to go back with a larger group next time to try more flavors. The five kinds of meat assortment was so filling that we couldn't try any other dishes. I would like to try the cold noodles next time.

Visited on Friday, January 5th at 6:30 pm with a reservation. There were no other customers, so I chose a table in the back with a sunken kotatsu. I ordered the premium tongue, thick-cut tongue, chef's selection of five kinds, top kalbi, and top sirloin. The tongue was chewy yet tender, and even when cooked rare, it was incredibly flavorful. The thick-cut tongue had a similar experience, with the thickness enhancing the deliciousness. The best part of the five kinds was the fillet, which was juicy and tender with an amazing flavor. The hichu had too much marbling for my taste. All the other meats were of high quality, but I didn't find myself craving for more. The top kalbi had a strong marbling but the flavor that spreads in your mouth is satisfying. The top harami was also delicious, but I was starting to feel full. Regarding the ventilation system mentioned in other reviews, there was no issue when grilling salt on my table. However, when the neighboring table started grilling hormones, the smoke quickly filled the room, causing my eyes to sting after 5 minutes. There seems to be an exhaust vent at the back of the room, so sitting closer to the entrance might be better. Be cautious when grilling sauce-based items on your table. If possible, I recommend sitting in the semi-private area near the entrance.

I came here because I heard it was delicious from a friend. The ventilation system is terrible, but the cost performance is good, and you can see the efforts of the management in this shop! At least, it was much better than the top restaurants on Kyoto's Tabelog. The atmosphere inside the shop is quite casual. The blackboard inside the shop caught my eye. From there, we ordered raw (chilled) meat: beef heart sashimi for 680 yen, recommended five kinds of assorted meats for 3980 yen, premium harami for 1480 yen, premium tongue for 1280 yen, regular tongue for 980 yen x2, and heavenly meat for 680 yen. The premium tongue was especially delicious! It was probably about 100g per serving. The assorted meats were particularly good! For 3980 yen, you get Hiuichi, Marushin, Nakaochi, Misuji, which is worth it. The quality of the meat is also excellent. However, there is just one thing... It is incredibly smoky!!! The amount of smoke is unbelievable. My whole body smelled like barbecue and my eyes hurt (*_*; I had to evacuate outside three times while cooking. It was really that bad. But it was too much. Thank you for the meal!

I am aiming to visit all the yakiniku restaurants in Kyoto! This time, I went to "Kawamori," which is a bit far from Shinai, and reservations are required! Make sure to reserve in advance as it gets crowded. I ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious and reasonably priced. Among them, the beef tongue was especially delicious, so I ended up ordering more. The white intestine and white intestine with ponzu sauce were also very tasty. And the prices are reasonable! This place is perfect with no complaints. The food was so good that I ended up going back just two days after my first visit. The recommended items on the blackboard had been completely changed, showing the restaurant's dedication. I will definitely be a repeat customer! (I went back right away...haha) Thank you for the delicious meat.

I went back to Kyoto to visit my family and my father took me to this restaurant for the second time. We had a variety of meats and let the chef choose for us. I tried raw heart for the first time and it had a great texture and was very delicious. Every meat dish was tasty and I left feeling very full!
