In the early evening of a few days ago, my partner and I visited this restaurant after making a reservation in advance. It had been a while since we last visited, when I came with a former colleague from work. Located in a somewhat old building on the right side after turning at the corner of Hotel Yutaka, up the hill from Iidabashi Station towards Kagurazaka. The entrance is a bit hard to find on the left side, leading to an elevator with a sign indicating it is prone to malfunctions. Despite arriving slightly before our reservation time at 6:30 pm, we were promptly seated at the counter as the place quickly filled up. The interior of the restaurant is simple but clean, with a functional dining area. The atmosphere is not pretentious, welcoming both young and older customers in a moderate and pleasant setting. The kitchen staff, consisting of three individuals, including a male responsible for grilling, worked together efficiently, while a few male servers managed the restaurant. They were attentive and friendly, creating a lively atmosphere with their professional service. We started with a draft beer for me and a lemon sour for my partner. We ordered the assorted grilled chicken skewers set (1,580 yen) and the daily recommended asparagus. The skewers were well-prepared, with a good balance of seasoning and flavors. The liver and meatball skewers in sauce were delicious, while the gizzard skewer with salt was outstanding. We also ordered grilled eggplant, quail skewer, and shiitake mushroom stuffed with meat skewers, followed by grilled rice balls and grilled rice cakes to finish our meal. The accompaniments of pickles and chicken soup were a nice touch. Throughout the meal, we enjoyed several sour cocktails, such as tomato and lemon sours. The staff handled a small mishap with a glass tactfully and smoothly, displaying excellent hospitality. The bill for two of us came to 13,000 yen, which we found to be very reasonable considering the quality of food and drinks. The restaurant has a high female clientele, which was not surprising given the pleasant atmosphere. Overall, we were impressed by the balance of ambiance, pricing, and taste, making it a great choice for casual gatherings or small group dinners. We highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxed dining experience in the Kagurazaka area. We look forward to visiting again.

I want to eat yakitori at a casual and diverse restaurant, not a fancy one! This place can fulfill that wish with its good yakitori. The restaurant opens early and closes early, and it's important to note that they tend to sell out by the 7 o'clock hour. On this particular day, they were out of liver skewers and quail. Reservations are a must. The place is always full, with some families dining around.

😊😊Iidabashi Ahoutori Tabelog Rating: 3.56 Price: 4000-5000 yen "Enjoy casual yakitori in Iidabashi" Located just a few minutes' walk from Iidabashi Station, on a quieter street off the bustling Kagurazaka-dori lined with numerous dining options, this yakitori restaurant stands in an area where the crowds are starting to thin out. It is easy to make a reservation, and having worked nearby for a long time, I've always been curious about this place. This time, I visited for the first time with some friends. [Atmosphere] About 6 counter seats and several tables for 2-4 people, with quite a few tables available. The interior has a casual, woody feel, somewhat reminiscent of Torikizoku. The staff members are mostly foreign and speak limited Japanese. [Cuisine] Below are the dishes we ordered this time: ------------------------------------------------------- Potato salad Motsu (offal) stew Edamame Sasami (chicken tenderloin) Momo (chicken thigh) wrapped in shiso Liver Tomato and green pepper cheese skewers Pork-wrapped tsukune (chicken meatballs) Chicken wings ------------------------------------------------------- [Business Hours] [Weekdays] 17:00-22:00 (Last order for food: 21:00, drinks: 21:20) [Sat/Sun/Holidays] 17:00-22:00 (Last order for food: 21:00, drinks: 21:20) Open on Sundays [Price] For the above dishes plus one beer, one chu-hi, and one sake, it was just under 4000 yen! Cash only, cards and QR codes not accepted. [Reservation] I made a reservation through Tabelog, and it seems that reservations can be made even for the near future. Reservations can also be made by phone (050-5869-7675). [Summary] Overall, I thought it was a good place to casually enjoy yakitori in Iidabashi. It was delicious! This is my first visit to "Ahoutori" in Kagurazaka. Even though it was a weekday, the seats were full with reservations. We ordered a mixed yakitori set (7 pieces), simmered motsu (offal), chilled tomatoes, grilled eggplant, grilled shiitake mushrooms, and grilled seaweed. Each skewer was thick and generously sized, cooked to perfection. The half-raw sasami (chicken breast) was especially delicious. The mini soup that came with the seaweed dish was a nice touch for the end of the meal. We enjoyed the incredibly tasty yakitori at a very reasonable price. We will definitely visit again soon. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the famous restaurant Ahoutori in Iidabashi for the first time since it moved. The interior has become quite clean and spacious, making it more inviting than before despite the noise. The charm of this place is definitely the delicious yakitori that can be enjoyed at a reasonable price. With this quality at this price, there's nothing to complain about.

A popular casual izakaya for adults where you can enjoy a lively atmosphere with adults rather than young people. Located near Kagurazaka and Iidabashi, it gets fully booked by 6 pm on Sundays and is highly valued by locals. #Kagurazaka #Iidabashi #Edogawabashi #Chinatown #SoloDining

Personal yakitori restaurant in Tokyo, confirmed. The best. So delicious. So cheap. And the place is not too dirty or too small. Must-try dishes include shiitake mushroom stuffed with meat, salted pork with shiso, negima, chicken tenderloin, and bell pepper cheese wrapped in pork. The miso on the table is insanely good. The best yakitori place I've been to, and we had three cups of Yamazaki and Hibiki for a total of 12,000 yen for two people. A must-visit restaurant.

A yakitori restaurant in Kagurazaka. I made a dinner reservation using the reservation function on Tabelog in advance. The restaurant is located a couple of streets away from the main street of Kagurazaka. At this restaurant, you can order skewers one by one, and you write your order on a paper placed at your seat. On this day, I mainly ordered skewers. Each skewer is priced at around 200 to 300 yen, making it very affordable. All the skewers were fragrant, without any unpleasant smell, and easy to eat. This is a yakitori restaurant with high cost performance.

"If you're not a fan of typical izakaya, then this place is not for you! But if you're looking for cheap and tasty food, then I recommend it. 'Ahoutori' yakitori in Kagurazaka is a long-established yakitori restaurant with 25 years of history. It used to be known for its smoky and cramped old building, making it hard to enter. However, it is one of the most popular yakitori restaurants in Kagurazaka and has been selected as one of the top 100 yakitori restaurants. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of a building an 8-minute walk from Iidabashi Station. The place is 90% full, showing its popularity. Now, let's talk about the taste of the food. - Ordered items (seating fee 400 yen, tax not included) Potato salad as a complimentary dish: A classic finish with a strong potato flavor and a bit of spiciness. - Assorted 7 skewers set 1,580 yen 1. Chicken tenderloin: Fresh with good cooking. The umami and sweetness are well balanced. 2. Negima (chicken thigh with leek): A classic dish with a great finish. The smokiness is just right. 3. Chicken gizzard: Good texture and nice fattiness. Even if you're not a fan of gizzard, this one is good. 4. Chicken heart: Fresh and satisfying. Meets the expectations well. 5. Chicken liver: Perfectly cooked and fresh. Highly recommended (second helping for 220 yen). 6. Pork with shiso leaf: The aroma of shiso is delightful, and the juiciness of the fat is excellent. 7. Homemade chicken meatball: Lightly seasoned with salt. The umami of the chicken meat is rich and satisfying. - Green pepper and cheese wrapped in pork skewer 480 yen Minced meat wrapped in green pepper with cheese. An interesting combination that women would enjoy. - Chicken wing 350 yen Delicious! Crispy and flavorful. A high-level chicken wing with juicy fat. - Stewed dish 480 yen A traditional stew with no unpleasant smell from the pork offal. The broth is flavorful with vegetables. - Drinks Whisky highball with Suntory Toki 530 yen Premium Malt's draft beer 630 yen - Service Not recommended for those who are particular about service. It's a typical izakaya atmosphere. However, the staff does not force customers to sit in tightly packed seats, which is commendable. The lovely service from the staff at the end of the meal was heartwarming. - Price Affordable and filling. We ate to our heart's content for 5,137 yen. The cost performance and deliciousness are truly impressive. The owner clearly understands the umami of chicken meat. The freshness and cooking are top-notch. It's no wonder it was a former top 100 yakitori restaurant (before relocating). The foundation is solid. If you're okay with the casual izakaya vibe, I highly recommend this yakitori restaurant. It's a guarantee of cheap and tasty food! Rating: As of March 2023 Tabelog rating: 3.57 (101 reviews) Before the relocation Tabelog rating: 3.76 (133 reviews)"

Overall, after enjoying a full meal including a seating fee, potato salad, chilled tomato with miso, draft beer (Malt's), a small bottle of Kikumasamune sake (served hot), chicken thigh with green onion, cheese-stuffed shiitake mushrooms, pork rolls, garlic quail, cheese seaweed rolls, and sunagimo (gizzard), the total came to 5,225 yen. The cost performance is good, and the service is friendly and refreshing. I am satisfied (*´-`)

I visited around 18:00 on a weekday. At first, it was almost empty, but after an hour it was almost full! The unpretentious atmosphere inside the restaurant is very calming. The first bite of the grilled chicken thigh was shockingly delicious! The ginger rice at the end was refreshing yet addictive. The highball was easy to drink with its strong carbonation!

I always rely on this place. I keep coming back over and over again. It's the perfect spot when I want to have a lively and fun time. The interior of the restaurant is like any other typical casual izakaya, but the yakitori they serve is top-notch. You can tell just by trying the chicken tenderloin. It's unbelievably tender and flavorful. However, one thing to note is that they mostly focus on yakitori and don't offer a wide variety of other dishes. They really put their heart and soul into their yakitori, but it might not be suitable for those who are looking to try different types of food. By the way, this yakitori place is located in an area in Kagurazaka where some of the best and reasonably priced izakayas are gathered, so I'll share more about it later!

I visited the restaurant "Ahou Tori" with a rating of 3.56 on Tabelog. The location is a bit off from Iidabashi, on the third floor of a clean mixed-use building. The spacious interior has a very open and welcoming atmosphere. "Ahou Tori" is a well-established yakitori restaurant in Kagurazaka, selected as one of the top 100 restaurants. It used to be a traditional yakitori place with a small, smoky space, but the recent relocation has brought a modern touch to the restaurant. They serve various dishes like potato salad, pickled vegetables, stewed giblets, beef tongue, pork with shiso, quail, chicken skin, bonjiri, bonkara, tsukune, pork wrapped in cheese and peppers, and yakitori rice bowl. The friendly owner and delicious yakitori with nostalgic flavors make it a great place to enjoy the taste of old Showa era. Isn't it a wonderful restaurant?

In the morning, I had a health check-up, relaxed at LaQua in the afternoon, and had a drinking session with a high school friend for dinner. We went to a yakitori restaurant called "Ahoutori" in Iidabashi or Kagurazaka, which was my first visit. The menu had a reasonably priced selection of yakitori, so I decided to start with the chef's choice set of 7 skewers and also ordered the "Liver Connection," a dish described as the area between liver and heart. It was a part I had never tried before, so I was excited. We started with a Mega Highball and chatted while waiting for the food, which arrived in about 10 minutes. The first skewer was "Chicken Breast," perfectly cooked and delicious, confirming my expectations for the restaurant. We also enjoyed various skewers like chicken thigh with green onions, heart, gizzard, liver, skin, neck meat, shiso-wrapped skewer, mini tomato wrapped in pork belly, pork tongue with lemon juice, bonjiri, spicy bonjiri, homemade tsukune, and cheese tsukune. Each skewer was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and we ended the meal with simmered vegetables and offal, pickled vegetables, and ginkgo nuts (autumn season). The restaurant was packed, which wasn't surprising given how delicious the food was. Despite the slightly high cost due to ordering a lot, we were fully satisfied. It was a delightful dining experience. In the Kagurazaka and Iidabashi area, there is a highly acclaimed yakitori restaurant called "Ahoutori", which is known for its exceptional taste. The atmosphere is like a casual pub, but the yakitori is outstanding. It is located about a 10-minute walk from Iidabashi and Kagurazaka stations. It is always crowded, so it is recommended to make a reservation in advance. However, on this Sunday, I visited early and was able to get in without a reservation. The prices are reasonable, with each skewer costing around 200 yen, and even after having about 5 drinks, the total bill was less than 6,000 yen. I ordered a variety of skewers and left feeling satisfied. The yakitori was juicy and perfectly grilled over charcoal. For this price, the taste is excellent. The service is somewhat casual, and sometimes orders are forgotten, but the affordable and delicious food makes it a favorite spot for me.

The izakaya-style yakitori restaurant in Iidabashi is very clean and the atmosphere is great. We ordered the omakase seven skewers course and got hitsumaki, sunagimo, liver, sasami, tebasaki, shishito peppers, hatsu, and negima. The liver was surprisingly delicious without the usual slimy texture. My favorite is still the sasami. I think it's a great place for a second round too!

I suddenly felt like eating yakitori, so I made a same-day reservation on a Friday. The main yakitori dishes satisfied my cravings perfectly. They grilled the regular cuts deliciously. The drinks were reasonably priced, and they even had mega jugs. Located in Iidabashi and Kagurazaka, this is a casual and affordable restaurant where you can enjoy yourself. Highly recommended.

I visited the popular yakitori restaurant "Ahoutori" in Kagurazaka. It was founded in 1995 and has recently relocated within Kagurazaka. The new location is spacious and smoke-free, a departure from the old-fashioned atmosphere of the previous location. The ordering system still involves writing your order on paper, and the prices are very affordable at around 200 yen per skewer. The overall impression is that the flavors are well-suited for drinking, with each skewer cooked just right depending on the cut. The rareness of the chicken breast and the tender texture of the liver were particularly enjoyable. The skin and liver skewers stood out for their rich flavors from both the meat and chicken fat. A unique item is the spicy "Bonkara" skewer, which not only brings heat but also a strong acidity reminiscent of habanero or Tabasco. The meal ended with ginger rice topped with grated ginger, a refreshing combination with the chicken soup. Overall, a delightful dining experience.

I moved from a charming red lantern to a building on the 3rd floor. Although the atmosphere has changed, the food is generally delicious. When I visited around 5:30 pm on a Saturday, there were only about 3 groups of people, but by around 7 pm, the place was about 80-90% full. The highlights were the heart, liver, and chicken wings. The drinks were a bit on the pricey side, around 600 yen, while the skewers were reasonable at 220 yen each. The service was brisk and likable. I found it convenient that you can make reservations online.
