If you go to Shozan Resort, be sure to have dinner at Torikawa-san. It's reasonable and delicious. I always end up ordering too much because everything is so tasty. The fried chicken and yakitori are all delicious.

After a refreshing walk through the lush greenery of Takao, we had lunch at the long-established Wakadori. It is a traditional restaurant located in a renovated old house with a spacious garden. The food is not exceptionally delicious, but the atmosphere of Kyoto's Kitayama area is wonderful. I imagine it would be even more stunning during the autumn foliage season. Takao is a bit far from the major tourist spots in Kyoto, but it's a peaceful and pleasant place to visit. Highly recommended.

I visited Tokyu Harvest Beers for the first time and had dinner there. I ordered the all-you-can-drink option, but surprisingly, hot sake was not included in the all-you-can-drink menu (I found out when I received the bill the next day, but didn't say anything). The food was delicious, especially the fried chicken which was my favorite. However, the service for drinks and food was a bit slow (maybe because it was busy during Christmas?).

I had dinner here when staying at Harvest. The meal was a course menu and each dish was visually stunning and delicious. The Mio sparkling wine was a nice touch, and the strawberry dessert was so tasty that I ended up buying some myself. This restaurant offers not only course meals but also rice bowls and a la carte dishes.

I visited without a course, ordering a la carte. The photos show a set of 6 skewers of chicken cutlet bowl and grilled mussels, but we also ordered fried eggplant and salad, which was delicious. I missed taking a photo of the salad, which was a shame because it was so tasty. The carrot was even marked with a star, which was cute. It seemed to be a Sunday (possibly Saturday) limited menu. Although I had a reservation for a course on another day during my stay in Kyoto, the overall experience was delicious and not too expensive (in fact, quite reasonable), so I made another reservation for a la carte on a different day. The grilled mussels on this day seemed a bit salty, but on another day it was fine. I plan to write a separate review for the day I used the course and the day I went a la carte again.

During my trip to Kyoto, I had dinner at Shozan Resort. I could have chosen a la carte, but since it was my first time, I opted for the course menu. The food was delicious, but it felt a bit like a high-end izakaya. The chicken tempura was especially tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Otsu went to Shozan Resort in Kyoto with his wife. They decided to have lunch at "Wakadori" within the resort. They had made a reservation in advance and arrived at the restaurant right at the opening time of 11:30. They were seated at a table with a view of the garden and served roasted green tea in a pot as a complimentary drink. While chatting with his wife, they waited for a while. Otsu wanted to order two Mini Zen meals priced at 2,100 yen each, but he couldn't remember if he had mentioned the order details when making the reservation over the phone or if he had only reserved the table. Thinking that the waiter would come to take their order if they hadn't specified it earlier, they waited for about 30 minutes. When no one came, they asked a waitress who was clearing the neighboring table, and she informed them that their reservation was for the table only and no food order had been taken. Otsu explained the situation to the waiter who arrived shortly after, and they ended up ordering two Mini Zen meals. As an apology, they were offered a complimentary drink, which Otsu chose an iced coffee and his wife an apple juice. The Mini Zen meals that arrived were delicious, especially the two pieces of crispy and tasty fried chicken (Mini Karaage) served in small dishes. They were satisfied with the dessert and drinks that followed. However, when they checked the bill placed upside down on the table, they were surprised to see that Otsu's iced coffee was free, but his wife's apple juice was charged at 240 yen. They paid a total of 4,884 yen feeling slightly unsettled and left the restaurant.

I ordered various dishes, but they don't serve sashimi at a yakitori restaurant, haha. The yakitori was delicious as usual, and the spring rolls were quite good. The bone-in chicken was juicy and hearty, and it was cooked faster than I expected. However, the premises are so spacious that I almost got lost, haha.

On my second visit, I decided to order a la carte instead of a course menu. I was worried that it might take a long time, but the dishes came out at a good pace. We had a variety of dishes such as assorted grilled chicken skewers, seasonal vegetable tempura, grilled eggplant with sweet miso, fried chicken, salad, chicken soup, and rice with raw egg. The tempura included rare spring vegetables like butterbur and bracken, which had a delicious slight bitterness. The fried chicken came with a special spicy sauce on the side, which was really tasty with a hint of garlic and chili. Overall, the vegetables were incredibly delicious, even in the salad. Most of the dishes were of high quality and tasty. We had a quick and affordable dinner, followed by a relaxing soak in the hot springs, which helped us unwind and feel rejuvenated.

A few minutes' walk from Tokyu Harvest Kyoto is a yakitori restaurant located in Shozan Resort Kyoto. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with a traditional Japanese-style izakaya atmosphere. They offer a variety of yakitori as well as other izakaya dishes such as fried tofu, miso eggplant, and more. I tried the miso eggplant, chicken soup, and chicken nanban, and they were all delicious. Since I was staying at Tokyu Harvest Kyoto, the hotel staff provided a car transfer from the hotel to the restaurant. There were many other guests who had also come from the hotel, waiting for their turn for the transfer. I wonder if this restaurant is also managed by Tokyu?

I made a reservation and visited the counter at WAKADORI in Shozan Resort in Kyoto. Even on weekdays, the counter was bustling with customers. I opted for the 1900 yen all-you-can-drink option, which included choices like draft beer, barley/sweet potato shochu, wine, sake, and soft drinks. However, you couldn't choose the types of shochu. I ordered the special rolled omelette for 550 yen, chicken skin with yuzu pepper for 750 yen, and cod with cloud ear mushrooms for 850 yen. The rolled omelette was freshly made in front of us and piping hot. The chicken skin was crispy with a strong yuzu pepper flavor, very tasty. I switched to sweet potato shochu with water and also ordered addictive cucumbers for 420 yen, grilled chicken skewers/meatballs (1 piece for 210 yen), ankimo with yuzu vinegar steamed for 900 yen, Kyoto-style simmered duck and raw wheat gluten stew for 1200 yen, assorted pickles for 350 yen, chicken miso tofu dengaku for 670 yen, and chicken soup for 350 yen. The grilled chicken skewers were cooked in front of us, but I would have preferred them a bit more charred. I thought the tofu dengaku would be grilled, but it was fried tofu instead. Overall, the dishes were on the salty side for Kyoto cuisine, and there were quite a few fried items, which was a bit disappointing. The chicken soup we had at the end was rich and delicious. I wish they had something like chicken soup porridge on the menu.

I visited in November. I stayed at Harvest Club and had breakfast included with the plan. We took off our shoes and sat at a sunken kotatsu table. The menu was already decided, so we started right away. The dishes were served promptly and each one was delicious. The price was very reasonable for a plan that included breakfast, so I didn't have high expectations, but I was satisfied with both the quality and quantity. I would like to visit Harvest Club again when I have the chance.

It became a hassle to leave the hotel, so I visited with the expectation of high prices. I opted for a la carte instead of a set course. In conclusion, it was reasonably priced and satisfying. It felt like a great local izakaya. Here are the reasons why:
- Seafood salad: Delicious with a great dressing.
- Assorted grilled chicken skewers: Tasty and well-cooked, but not mind-blowing.
- Oyakodon, grilled chicken rice bowl, tamago kake gohan: All tasty but nothing extraordinary. The grilled chicken rice bowl can get a bit boring.
- Grilled shishamo fish: Generous portion and tasty, but a bit light and might leave you wanting more.
- Addictive spicy cucumbers: As the name suggests, slightly spicy and addictive. Delicious.
- Fried chicken: Delicious as is. The special sauce is salsa-like and makes it easy to eat. The restaurant focuses on chicken, but the meat was a bit plain. It lacked the rich flavor of premium chicken like Nagoya Cochin or Hichinoko. However, the surprising thing was the price. Despite being in a hotel, it was very reasonable. It's a shame there wasn't more emphasis on the quality of the meat or a bit more Kyoto flair. Thank you for the meal.

There is a shop inside Shozan Resort. I always go there during the autumn leaves season, but I have not visited Kyoto since the start of the coronavirus. I am not a fan of Kyoto's food, but this shop is an exception. The atmosphere is excellent, and I enjoy having lunch in a sunken kotatsu seat while watching the autumn leaves. Reservations are required as seats fill up quickly. I always order the colorful lunch set. The fried chicken with chili sauce is delicious and a great deal. I hope to visit again once the coronavirus situation improves.

During my trip to Kyoto, I stayed at Tokyu Harvest and visited this place attached to it. I was skeptical about the prices, but the fried young chicken was simply amazing as a snack! The prices were reasonable. However, the grilled chicken was just average.

I was with my child in a stroller, but I was able to enter the store with the stroller and the inside was calm, so I was able to enjoy my meal slowly.
