I visited the famous beef hormone restaurant "Shusse Ryori Akachochin" in Shinjuku Gyoen. It had been three years since my last visit due to the pandemic, but this time, the place was packed within 30 minutes of opening. It was quite popular, with mostly male customers. We started with a sashimi platter and a mixed grill, both of which were fresh and delicious. The mixed grill was especially satisfying with a variety of cuts. All the grilled dishes were cooked in a frying pan, which added to their flavor. We also enjoyed beef intestine sashimi, beef tripe with ponzu sauce, grilled beef liver, grilled beef skirt, and stir-fried beef liver with leeks. The grilled beef skirt was my favorite, and it paired perfectly with beer. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal of beef hormones. Unfortunately, the rare item "grilled beef tendon" was sold out as usual.

About a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Gyoen Station on the Marunouchi Line. The atmosphere of the restaurant is like a family-run izakaya. The ratio of male to female customers at the table seats is about half and half, while the counter seats were a bit less popular. It's great to be able to sit at the counter at 7 pm for those who love drinking. The beef sashimi and yakiniku will definitely lift your spirits. The alcohol also goes down smoothly. The dishes come out in about 5 minutes after ordering, so you don't have to wait long to indulge in a feast of food and drink. Cheers!

I visited this restaurant for the first time after my friend made a reservation for me. The menu had so many tempting options, but I left it up to my friend to choose for me. We started with a toast at the Heartland, followed by a delicious platter of kimchi, stew, and grilled vegetables. Next, we had a variety of sashimi, including some unique cuts like mino and senmai. Just when we thought we were satisfied, my friend insisted we try more dishes to truly experience the essence of the restaurant. We enjoyed a fantastic mixed vegetable stir-fry and grilled liver, which was surprisingly delicious. The meal ended with a spicy stir-fried dish that was the perfect finale. With rice and more liver, we left feeling completely satisfied. The combination of sashimi, grilled dishes, and excellent service made this restaurant a truly wonderful place. I am grateful to my friend and can't wait to visit again soon.

I visited this restaurant, which is known for being difficult to make reservations, based on a recommendation from a friend. We started with a sashimi assortment, which was fresh and had no fishy smell. The beef tongue sashimi paired with sesame oil was a perfect combination. The thick yet light texture of the tongue sashimi was impressive. Moving on to the stir-fried dishes, the spicy leek stir-fry with miso-based sauce was a rice thief - the leek and sauce combination was fantastic. The liver and leek stir-fry had a simple salt-based seasoning that brought out the depth of flavor in the liver. The mixed grilled dish at the end was a masterpiece, with a blend of hormone meat and a secret sauce that made the bottle of shochu disappear quickly. This dish was more about the restaurant's mixed grill than just the hormone meat. It was a wonderful dining experience. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I thought it might be crowded, but when I called, they said I could go later. On the east side of Shinjuku? Southeast...? When I entered the restaurant, there was a nice smell of meat. I had raw meat, such as heart, tongue, and liver, I think (sorry, I don't remember well). Each came with its own sauce, and they were all delicious. I also had hormone mix and salad, and I was very satisfied! Thank you for the meal.

You can enjoy legal raw meat at this restaurant! The Hormone Sashimi Mix is a must-try! This time, I also ordered the Harami Sashimi as an extra. They only use domestically produced Japanese beef, so you can enjoy raw meat with peace of mind. The restaurant has a lively atmosphere fitting of its name "Akachochin," and all the dishes are incredibly delicious. I highly recommend the leek and egg dish and the simmered dish.

I suddenly craved raw meat, so I visited the restaurant. After toasting with a cold glass of Asahi beer, I enjoyed the three-point skewer set of tongue, Harami (skirt steak), and heart. The sweetness and tenderness of the Harami impressed me so much that I ended up ordering an additional serving of just the Harami. The beef shabu-shabu is also a recommended dish! Thank you for the delicious meal.

There was a shop that I had been interested in for a while near Shinjuku Gyoenmae Station. I used it for a drinking party with friends, and the specialty of that shop was meat dishes. Especially the meat sashimi was exquisite, and once you eat it, you won't forget its deliciousness. The meat sashimi uses a sauce that is perfectly matched to each type of meat, enhancing the flavor of the meat even more. Also, the mixed grilled meat is recommended. The mix of hormone and tongue, grilled with sauce, is so delicious that it is sure to become addictive. Furthermore, the grilled tongue is also excellent and goes well with rice. The salad served at a surprising price has a good volume and is enjoyable at a reasonable price. The dressing is easy to eat and maintains a perfect balance. Finally, we ordered tail soup as the finishing touch. I was able to easily finish this authentic soup. Eating full with three people at this izakaya cost about 15,000 yen. Considering the quality of the food, I felt that it was much more cost-effective than a typical all-you-can-drink izakaya. Also, Gyoenmae, a little away from Shinjuku Station, has a calm atmosphere without being crowded. The transfer between the Marunouchi Line and the Fukutoshin Line is smooth, and the access is convenient. We walked back to Shinjuku 3-chome on our way back, and arrived in just 10 minutes. The recommended authentic izakaya in Shinjuku Gyoen, "Akachochin," is attractive for its delicious meat dishes, cost performance, and calm atmosphere. Please visit and try it out.

Shinjuku Gyoen is a 5-minute walk away. As the name suggests, Akachochin is a red lantern on Hanazono Street. Be careful not to mistake it for the nearby yakiniku restaurant also displaying a red lantern. I have visited this place many times and the proprietress and her husband are really nice people who even remember my face. My favorite dish here is definitely the hormone sashimi. Everyone smiles when they eat this hormone sashimi that you can't find anywhere else. Once customers get a taste of it, they usually become addicted. The restaurant is always clean and doesn't look like a place that serves greasy food. I ordered the usual sashimi platter and grilled sauce. I also added some skirt steak. The taste remains unchanged, just as always. This is a place I would like to keep coming back to even 10 years from now. Thank you for the meal.

The customer service was excellent and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant. It wasn't a calming atmosphere, but rather a cozy one, and the meat was very delicious. I finally had the chance to visit a famous restaurant known for its hormone dishes that I've been curious about for a while. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were limited to a one-hour time slot. I ordered the stewed hormone dish and a small serving of mixed hormones from the menu. The stewed dish had a salty flavor, and the large hormone pieces were carefully prepared without any unpleasant smell. They were delicious when combined with the moist broth. I opted for the sauce with the hormone dishes, and the balance between the spicy sauce and the hormones made the alcohol go down smoothly. Although it was a small portion, it was enough to enjoy various parts of the dish. The hormone dishes at this famous restaurant are truly delicious. However, personally, I thought it was a bit expensive as the total cost for three items, including drinks, was over 5,000 yen.

We had a pre-drinking gathering at a popular retro izakaya called "Akachochin" before heading to Shinjuku Gyoen for a drinking party. The interior of the izakaya had a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere, matching its exterior appearance. We arrived around 6 pm and ordered a platter of three kinds of fresh sashimi (harami, tongue, heart) for 1870 yen + tax. The sashimi was delicious with a good texture. We toasted with a lemon sour for 580 yen and a cup of green tea for 580 yen. Edamame was served as a complimentary appetizer. We enjoyed our drinks and dishes, and the total cost for two people was just under 5,000 yen.

I had been curious about this red lantern restaurant for a while. The prices were not cheap, the portions were small, the drinks were expensive with little alcohol and lots of ice, as I had already researched. My visit confirmed all of these points. It seems like the rent in Shinjuku must be high. The recommended dishes, the large plate of hormone sashimi and the large plate of hormone yakitori, were not as large as I expected. They were more like curry plates. The taste was the same for both dishes - sweet and strong, a bit junky. The freshness of the hormone sashimi was not great, and the hormone yakitori was too strong in flavor. The dishes were not really gourmet, but the prices were on the higher side. It might be better to just enjoy your favorite cuts of meat with some drinks in a casual way. Ordering the large plates is a challenge! The staff was friendly and efficient, but they were a bit too quick to clear the plates, even when there was still food left. It felt wasteful. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I feel like I could have skipped this restaurant.

The sashimi was amazing. I regret not ordering the assorted grilled items instead of individual ones. I made a reservation for 7 pm and by around 8:30 pm, some items were already sold out. The soup dishes were also delicious, and this place is a must-visit for offal lovers! I will definitely go back!

Of course, without a doubt, the raw meat and stir-fried hormone are the best dishes I have ever experienced. They are incredibly delicious. I wonder why my brain perceives them as so delicious, making me feel so happy. I feel like I want to see them working (shaking the pot). I really understand. The staff is also kind, and you can see that they are acting with the future of the restaurant in mind. I respect them.

Visited with a friend on the weekend and ordered the following: - 4 beers, 4 highballs, and some tea highballs - Small sashimi platter - Small grilled dish - Grilled beef tongue As there were two women, we consulted with the staff about the portion sizes. However, even the small sashimi platter was too much for us, so be careful when ordering. The sashimi had too much sauce, which overwhelmed the taste of the fish. We were hoping for a more refreshing taste. The grilled dish was too rich in flavor, making it hard to distinguish the taste of the ingredients, and it felt a bit greasy. Perhaps it would have been better with rice. Maybe our expectations were too high, but considering the lack of value for money, we won't be returning. Rating at the time of visit: 3.59
