This is a restaurant located on the 11th floor of a department store at Kyoto Station. I was hoping to enjoy Kyoto cuisine, but it was just average. The prices seemed relatively cheap considering the location. They gave me an English menu, probably because there were many foreigners. The vegetables were delicious. The steamed dishes were served with ponzu and sesame dressing. For the tempura, I chose rice balls instead of white rice, but they were dry, so I regretted not choosing white rice. I was disappointed as I had high expectations for a meal in Kyoto, but compared to other reviews, I rated it fairly with 3 stars.

After exploring Kyoto, we moved our battlefield to Kyoto Station. It's 6:30 PM and there is only one group waiting. It's good that it's not too crowded. We wanted to fully experience Kyoto, so we chose this restaurant in the station building. They use various ingredients from Kyoto. We ordered the "Matsuba" for 3190 yen, deep-fried tofu for 550 yen, and sweet shrimp tempura for 660 yen. The "Matsuba" requires a minimum order of 2 servings, so the photo shows 2 servings. It might be tough for one person, so it would be nice to have a single serving option. For the "Matsuba," they give you an hourglass to measure the meat yourself. It's primitive but fun. The female staff members in formal attire were very attentive and served the rice after making sure everything was measured correctly. The dish was full of vegetables, with a nice sweetness from the vegetables and the option to change the flavor with sesame sauce and ponzu. We enjoyed our meal.

First day dinner in Kyoto trip. I was tired, so I went to the restaurant area in Isetan directly connected from Kyoto Station. ★Entry time◎ Around 6 pm on Sunday I received a ticket at the storefront and waited on a chair placed near the restaurant. I was seated after about 10 minutes. ★What I ordered this time◎ Hanaao 1980 yen A set meal with a box steamed dish, tempura, sashimi, soba noodles, and a small side dish. I changed the soba noodles to miso soup. The portion was very satisfying, but overall the menu focused on hot pot dishes and steamed dishes, so the air conditioning was strong and the food quickly cooled down, making my body feel cold, and that's the only impression I have. If it wasn't for that, I think I could have enjoyed the food more. Thank you for the meal~

I arrived at around 11:45 at this restaurant located on the 11th floor of Isetan in Kyoto Station. Despite the relatively crowded floor, this restaurant was not busy. The Hanaao set for 1,870 yen offers a variety of dishes, but the portion size is quite large. There was a generous amount of vegetables in the steamed basket, making it hard to reach the bottom. The tempura, sashimi, and soba were all delicious, and considering the relatively high pricing, I think this is a good restaurant to visit when you want to avoid crowds.

After leaving the hospital, I had my usual lunch at Kyoto Station! This time, I chose a steamed dish with Kyoto vegetables, which is very gentle on the stomach! - Hanaoi - The steamed dish (leeks, komatsuna, bean sprouts, taro) had a good amount, and you can enjoy it with both ponzu sauce and sesame dressing! I found the ponzu sauce to be delicious! The tempura (2 shrimp, pumpkin, shiso leaf) was crispy and crunchy, and it tasted great with matcha salt! The sashimi assortment (salmon, sea bream, squid) came in a 3-piece set and was satisfying! The Oribe ware was also nice. Soba noodles and mixed rice are included, but you can also change them to miso soup or white rice! I ate them as they were without changing! The soba broth was refreshing and elegant, making the soba very gentle. Dried shiitake mushrooms and fried tofu added volume! The mixed rice had a dark color but a mild taste, making it easy to eat a whole bowl without getting tired! The restaurant in the station or department store offers relatively affordable Japanese cuisine. There are various opinions on the evaluation, but I recommend it especially for health-conscious people! I waited for 30 minutes during lunchtime, but my husband, who was recovering from illness, really liked the stomach-friendly dishes!

Today, I had a slightly luxurious lunch at Isetan. I had made a reservation the night before, but when I arrived a little before 12 o'clock, there were still quite a few empty seats. I had the Hanaaoi lunch, and the steamed oyster in a steamer was delicious. I didn't take a photo, but later on, fried oysters and deep-fried green chili peppers were served. The deep-fried green chili peppers were quite spicy and just to my liking. Thank you for the meal.

It was delicious ☺️ The service was also great, with staff in kimonos being very polite and attentive. I wanted to experience the atmosphere of Kyoto, and this place was quite suitable for that. It took a bit of time for the steamed dishes to arrive, but that's understandable. We went in for lunch but I had just one glass of beer.

I visited for lunch. I have been here a few times before. I arrived early on a Sunday afternoon expecting it to be busy, but there were already 3 groups waiting. Other restaurants on the same floor had long lines as well. The customers here are of a calm age group, so you can enjoy a leisurely meal. I had the Rin's lunch set, which included steamed vegetables, added pork loin, sashimi, soba or miso soup, mixed rice, pickles, and dessert. I added pork loin to the steamed vegetables, but it was around 500 yen for 3 slices, so maybe it wasn't necessary? The meat wasn't particularly tender either. As mentioned in other reviews, the sauce was a bit lacking, I could have used a bit more. The vegetables, including bean sprouts and komatsuna, were crunchy and delicious. The sashimi included salmon, sea bream, scallop, sweet shrimp, and squid, which was a nice variety. I chose soba for the soup, and the broth was so good I drank it all. They also offer sets with tempura, sukiyaki, and seasonal items, so I would like to try something different next time. Thank you for the meal.

After sightseeing in Kyoto, we wandered around Kyoto Station looking for dinner and found a place on the 11th floor of Kyoto Isetan directly connected to JR Kyoto Station. In Kyoto Station, where most places are expensive, this place seemed to offer reasonable prices. They had set menus with a vegetable steamed dish and an additional item, and I chose tempura. It was crowded everywhere as it was past lunchtime. I chose to come here because I could get in relatively quickly. You could choose between white rice or seasoned rice, and the seasoned rice had just the right amount of saltiness and was delicious. The vegetables used in the steamed dish were tasty, but the sashimi and the seasoned rice were the highlights for me. Personally, I would have liked more ponzu sauce with the steamed dish, but overall it was a light and refreshing meal. The portion size seemed large, but it was easy to eat because it was light. Both were delicious with fresh and juicy vegetables. In particular, the green onions were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, giving a sense of freshness. On Sunday at lunchtime, all the shops in Isetan seem to have a waiting line... I thought this place might have relatively less waiting, but ended up waiting for 40 minutes. I entered with my son. They have baby chairs. Even after finishing our meal, many middle-aged women were still chatting loudly while drinking tea without leaving. I ordered: - Hana Aoi set meal for ¥1870, which includes steamed dish, sashimi, tempura (2 prawns, shiso leaves, pumpkin), choice of soba or miso soup, rice, pickles, and dessert. - Topping of the day's fish for the steamed dish for ¥330 - Homemade tofu for ¥550 The food arrived in 7 minutes, surprisingly fast. For the steamed dish, you can add toppings like meat, and it came with Tanba shimeji mushrooms, soybean sprouts, eggplant, and leeks. They were cooked just right, still crunchy. The soybean sprouts could have been cooked a bit more. There was a shortage of ponzu sauce and sesame dressing. The soba had a slightly weak dashi flavor. The rice was tasty, and the tempura was freshly fried and served with matcha salt. The prawns were small but firm. The sashimi was passable, but the leeks as a topping for the homemade tofu were dried out and lifeless (lol). The service was very good, and it's a child-friendly place. But I would never go if I had to wait. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at Kyoto Isetan around 11:10 am, before catching the Shinkansen. Since the popular restaurants had long lines, I opted for this place where there was no wait. I had the lunch set at Hanakui, which offered a choice between mixed rice or white rice with soba and miso soup. The mixed rice and soba set was filling and had plenty of vegetables. Overall, it was a great value lunch.

I enjoyed Kyoto cuisine in Kyoto and ordered a meal called "Tachibana". The steamed dish made with Kyoto vegetables was really delicious, especially the Kujo green onions, which had a mild flavor. I was happy to be able to enjoy a variety of side dishes. I think it's a great deal for 1650 yen to have such a luxurious meal. The staff was attentive to refilling our tea and provided excellent service. Thank you for the meal!
