It was really great! When getting off the municipal bus to go to Kinkakuji, I spotted a "nishi soba" flag on the way to the approach. It seems to be popular among foreigners, with about 2 groups waiting. There is a binder hanging next to the door where you can write your name and wait. There are benches inside and outside, and there is a roof in the outdoor waiting area, which feels very kind. Inside the restaurant, there is a stone mill grinding buckwheat seeds, and children are fascinated, while adults are also intrigued as they see it for the first time. It says they use domestic buckwheat flour, but are they really grinding it here? It's exciting. They also demonstrate soba making. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we were seated in a tatami room. We had tempura made from "manganji togarashi" peppers, nishin soba, zaru soba, chirimen sansho rice. First, the tempura made from "manganji togarashi" peppers arrived. They served it with tempura dipping sauce, salt, etc., along with sudachi and grated daikon radish. The juicy "manganji togarashi" peppers in the crispy tempura coating are delicious. The refreshing summer aroma spreads throughout your mouth. The photo was taken after eating one piece. The nishin soba was excellent, with sweet and savory marinated herring. The dashi was also incredibly fragrant and delicious. The warm soba had a good texture and was the type of soba I really like. The zaru soba also had a good texture, and the dipping sauce was rich but not spicy, with a strong dashi flavor. Soba seed ice cream had a refreshing soba flavor with crispy soba seeds on top. The ice cream had a clean soba taste without any masking from the soba seeds, so it was impressive. In the tatami room, there were seasonal flowers arranged, and what impressed me even more was the great sense of design in every piece of tableware, the ice cream container, the spoon, the room layout, and the seat cushions. Although they may not be very expensive, they all had a sense of design, conveying that this is a restaurant that values its customers. Thank you for the meal. I came from Chiba, but I would like to come again. It's a restaurant that deserves more popularity!
