[Location] 1 minute walk from JR Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit, Avanti 1F
[Time] 1:00 PM, about 50% full inside the restaurant
[Order] Yoshisho Curry 390 yen (rice)
(Rice) The rice was cooked slightly firm to go well with the thick European-style curry.
(Curry sauce) The thick European-style curry had a spicy kick at the first bite, followed by a subtle taste of fruits and vegetables. It was a curry with a distinctive spicy kick. You can adjust the flavor with the Fukujinzuke (pickles) and spices on the table.
The restaurant has an L-shaped counter, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy their meal without feeling out of place. The service was quick, and the operation of the restaurant was excellent. I would like to challenge the recommended Tomato Herbal Curry next time. Thank you for the meal.

Hello ( ̄Д ̄)ノ Today is curry day!! I visited #Yoshizo Curry located on the 1st floor of Avanti in front of Kyoto Station (31 Higashikujo Nishisannocho, Minami Ward, Kyoto City). This place offers a high cost-performance curry priced at 390 yen, which I saw on YouTube. I arrived at around 11:30 am on a weekday and had to wait a bit before entering the restaurant. The interior was crowded, but they were seating customers one by one, leaving one seat empty between each person. I ordered the Yoshizo Curry for 390 yen, which was the only option, along with an additional pork cutlet for 160 yen, extra large rice for +100 yen, and extra curry sauce for +150 yen, upgrading my order to 800 yen. I paid upfront and soon after, my Yoshizo Curry (with pork cutlet, extra rice, and curry sauce) was served. The rice was covered in hot curry sauce, steaming hot. I dug in immediately and enjoyed the mildly spicy curry, the freshly fried pork cutlet, and the combination with the rice. Mixing in the Fukujinzuke pickles and adding some shichimi spice, I savored every bite. The curry sauce had a good flavor and the ability to adjust the spiciness with the condiments was a nice touch. The Yoshizo Curry for 390 yen is a great deal! I had a delicious and satisfying meal. Thank you very much!

Located on the first floor of Avanti at the Hachijo-guchi exit of Kyoto Station, this curry restaurant offers delicious curry at very reasonable prices. There were also many foreign customers, indicating its popularity. Today, I tried the classic katsu curry, but I look forward to trying other dishes next time. I will definitely visit again.

Overwhelming cost performance. Yoshisho curry is 390 yen. The rice is substantial and the curry is delicious. An average woman would definitely be full. Plus, it's very close to Kyoto Station. True value for money. The medicinal herb tomato curry allows you to choose a base curry and add 150 yen to order it. Change the curry to medicinal herb tomato curry for the fried chicken curry. Tsukumo udon and here are the top 2 in Kyoto Station gourmet.

I had been curious about this restaurant after hearing about it from a follower's review in the past. Despite having been in this area for many years, it was my first time discovering it. Located on the first floor on the west side of the Avanti building, the entrance is outside the building and not accessible from Avanti. The restaurant only has a counter seat in an L-shape. I struggled a bit to sit down as the stools were high and I have short legs. I tried the Yoshizo Curry for 390 yen and was surprised by the authentic and spicy flavor. It was delicious. I noticed that many people were having the Katsu Curry, so I assume it is popular. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday, so it was not crowded. Thank you for the meal.

I tried ordering the more expensive Ebi Fry curry instead of the Tonkatsu curry, wondering why it was 100 yen more. The conclusion: disappointing! It was just two sad pieces of shrimp. The Tonkatsu curry was such a good deal that the Ebi Fry curry felt overpriced. Now I understand why no one orders it.

Around 12 o'clock, I visited "Yoshizo Curry" on the first floor of Kyoto Avanti, located southeast of Kyoto Station Hachijo-guchi. It's a small restaurant with only counter seats, and there was quite a line. The base Yoshizo Curry was surprisingly cheap at 390 yen, and it was delicious. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry with a topping of hot spring egg for 550 yen. The curry had a moderate spiciness with a soft sweetness in the sauce. Breaking the hot spring egg and mixing it with the curry created a smooth and flavorful taste. Overall, the cost performance is great. It's hard to find this quality at such a low price elsewhere. When I left the restaurant, there was a long line, but it was understandable. Thank you for the meal. #Gourmet #KyotoGourmet #KyotoStationGourmet #HachijoGuchiGourmet #Curry #KyotoCurry #KyotoStationCurry #HachijoGuchiCurry #WantToConnectWithFoodies #WantToConnectWithCurryLovers #YoshizoCurry

I underestimated it for the price. It was before 12 o'clock on Wednesday, even after the Gion Festival was over, my least favorite Kyoto town was crowded as usual. The benefit of the weak yen is being targeted by foreign visitors. It's about a 3-minute walk from the west exit of Hachijo, under Don Quijote. It's located in a building just to the left after Nakau. It was before 12 o'clock on a weekday, but we were seated without waiting. To be honest, there is no sense of beauty or sophistication. It's a stand-up style with about 10 seats. I ordered the pork cutlet curry. They fry it after you order, which is impressive considering it's priced at 550 yen. The curry sauce doesn't have any solid ingredients, everything seems to be blended. The spiciness is quite mild, but they provide "extra spicy spice" for adjustment. Unlike the expensive and not-so-tasty restaurants in Kyoto, this place is different. It's a good idea that there is only one type of curry and you can customize it with toppings. It's a bit far from the station, but it's a nice place without the typical annoying atmosphere that Kyoto's tourist spots have. I would like to come back again.

Located right on the south side of Kyoto Station, on the west side of the first floor of AVANTI, is Yoshizo Curry. Despite its prime location, this curry stand offers a shocking price of 550 yen for pork cutlet curry. Originally operated by a Japanese company in Shanghai, the business was relocated to Kyoto due to redevelopment. The curry features a thick and crispy pork cutlet on a base of Osaka-style sweet and spicy curry, creating a perfect balance. With such an affordable price, this place is always crowded with customers.
Visited in July 2023 for lunch, I had been craving for some pork cutlet curry and decided to try Yoshizo Curry. The prices were truly surprising, with curry rice at 390 yen and pork cutlet curry at 550 yen. This brand was originally developed by a Japanese company in Shanghai and was brought back to Kyoto after being displaced due to subway construction. Despite the affordable prices, the place was still popular, with a line forming during regular hours. The seating arrangements were spaced out due to COVID-19 precautions, with only about 6 seats available.
I decided to go for the pork cutlet curry with an extra helping of curry sauce and an additional pork cutlet topping. The total cost was surprisingly still in the 800 yen range, even with the extras. The curry had a sweet and spicy flavor typical of Osaka-style curry, with a mild level of spiciness that allowed the fruity notes to shine through. The pork cutlet had a thick coating and a thin layer of meat, giving off a strong aroma of frying oil but blending well with the curry sauce. The portion size was generous, with enough rice to go around. The rice itself was tasty and complemented the curry well. Overall, it was a satisfying meal at an unbeatable price for the location. It's hard to find a place that offers pork cutlet curry at such a price nowadays. The journey of exploring curry stands serving pork cutlet curry has just begun.

I visited Yoshizo Curry on the first floor of Avanti for an early lunch as soon as they opened. The place quickly filled up after opening. The interior has only a counter and a few tables, so it gets full quickly. The young man running the place alone seemed to be handling it well. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry (550 yen tax included) with extra curry sauce and cheese topping (700 yen tax included). The curry sauce was light and not very spicy, but they generously added spices for extra heat. The curry itself was flavorful and smooth. The pork cutlet was thickly breaded and the meat was thin but there was a good amount of it. It was fried well and tasted delicious. For the price of 700 yen, it was quite affordable. The service was quick and overall, I thought it was a good deal. If you're looking for a quick curry in this area, Yoshizo Curry is a great option, along with Spicy Masala near Kyoto Station. Payment is cash only and you have to pay in advance.

I tried to go to this curry shop last time on a Sunday, but they were closed. So, this time I ordered the Yoshizo Curry for 390 yen and the Fried Chicken Curry for 530 yen. I thought about getting the large size, but the regular size was actually quite filling. You can add extra rice for 100 yen and extra curry for 150 yen. The taste was rich and spicy, with a nice delayed spiciness. It's not authentic spicy curry, but considering the price, I was pleasantly surprised. I especially liked the crispy fried chicken. If this place was closer, I might stop making curry at home (laughs).

At Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit, Avanti 1st floor, there is a restaurant called "Kissho Curry" that caught my attention with a slight line. I was surprised to find that they offer authentic European-style curry for only 390 yen. This time, I tried the Pork Cutlet Curry for 550 yen. It is a counter-only seating arrangement, with seats spaced out due to COVID-19 measures. The curry was rich and flavorful, with a large pork cutlet. Despite being thinner than expected, the curry had a satisfying taste. Overall, it was a great value for money and I left feeling very satisfied.

Located on the 1st floor of Avanti mall, just in front of the Hachijo exit of JR Kyoto Station. The owner, a former boxer with a unique background, trained at a famous curry restaurant before opening his own place in China. The curry here is not your average - it's fruity, spicy, and expertly crafted. The ingredients are plentiful and simmered to perfection, resulting in a rich and flavorful taste. The pork cutlet is juicy and fried fresh to order. I couldn't believe this amazing curry was only 550 yen (payment upfront). This special curry is definitely worth more than what you pay for - an incredible value!

Located about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, this street-level restaurant is situated on the southwest corner of Kyoto Avanti 1F. The entrance is along the outer perimeter of the building. Popular Kyoto gourmet YouTuber @kotatsu_haaaan also visited this place, known for its honest and accurate reviews. The carefully simmered curry here has a perfect balance of sweetness and spiciness, and unbelievably, prices start at just 390 yen. I chose the pork cutlet curry for a luxurious treat this time. The speedy service brought out the pork cutlet curry in about 3 minutes, and it was delicious. The wait time for Yoshizo Curry was about 30 seconds. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Katsukare (pork cutlet curry) is gaining attention worldwide, from the UK, China, Southeast Asia to the US. It has become a global gourmet dish originating from Japan. One popular curry restaurant located on the south side of Kyoto Station is "Yoshizo Curry," which opened on September 3, 2018. Interestingly, this restaurant originally operated as "Japanese Elephant Curry" in Shanghai before closing down and relocating to Kyoto due to redevelopment. It's like a reverse-import curry restaurant. Due to this history, there are also Chinese customers visiting the restaurant. The menu is written in Chinese and English as well. The plain curry is priced at 390 yen, which is surprising. The most popular item ordered was the pork cutlet curry. The curry is mild and smooth at first bite but gradually becomes spicy. The pork cutlet is thickly breaded with thin meat, allowing the curry to be the star of the dish. This dish is not only delicious but also has its own unique character. It's a reasonably priced and casual yet globally appealing Japanese katsukare.

This is just between us, but I'm not a big fan of the trendy spiced curry these days... However, I'm happy to see a curry shop like this one working hard. The combination of taste and affordability is amazing! The curry sauce starts off sweet and then the spiciness kicks in, which is just to my liking. You can enjoy it from start to finish without having to think too much... I also appreciate the balance between the amount of sauce and rice. The rice was a bit on the soft side this time, which was a little disappointing... Many people order the pork cutlet curry here, and I noticed the pork cutlet being cut into bite-sized pieces and topped with a generous amount of sauce. I think it would taste delicious with all that sauce. It seems like you can also get an extra serving of sauce, so I'd like to try the pork cutlet curry next time.

I remembered this place while shopping at Kyoto Station and decided to visit during lunchtime. Last time I came, they were unexpectedly closed, so I was happy to find them open this time. The restaurant has only a counter seating, but the service is quick and the turnover of customers is fast, so I didn't have to wait in line. The cost performance is great for the portion size and deliciousness. It's also convenient that it's located right near Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit. If I ever crave katsu curry again, I will definitely come back here.

Located on the south side of Kyoto Station, near the Shinkansen and buses to Itami Airport, is a curry restaurant. They serve a delicious pork cutlet curry for only 550 yen! They prepare the curry quickly, similar to the popular chain Coco Ichibanya, so if you think of curry as a drink, you can be in and out of the restaurant in 5 minutes. The curry is slightly spicy, so it may be too spicy for some people. But they provide water, so you can try it out. This concludes my business trip to Kyoto this year. I plan to visit again next year, and I will introduce more restaurants I visited on another occasion. The food was delicious! I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

A curry restaurant located south of Kyoto Station. It seems quite popular. The pork cutlet curry is 550 yen, and you can add cheese for an extra 100 yen. The portion of rice is generous, and the cutlet is large. It's cheap and offers great value for money. The curry isn't very spicy, so adding some chili spice makes it just right.

It's great value for money. It can get busy during lunchtime, but the turnover is quick. I go for lunch on weekdays a few times a month. The tonkatsu is delicious and you can even order just one piece of karaage, which is fantastic. My favorite is one piece of karaage with a raw egg. The curry is a steal, but it's authentic.
