"Hotto Motto" in Asahikawa. Couldn't find anything to eat on the way back, so I found "Hotto Motto" and decided to stop by. I told my wife that she doesn't need to cook anything, so I've been coming to Asahikawa a lot lately. I've been here multiple times in the past month. I'll just get some side dishes. I'll go with the "ginger pork." The staff, a brisk older sister, is very pleasant. The previous customer was an old lady and the other customer was an old man, younger than me I guess. It's hard to tell these days. I'll have to wait about 10 minutes. They must have bento reservations. It's a cozy little "Hotto Motto." Looks like I'll be getting home later than my wife. I feel like a bullet catcher. Today's errands took longer than expected. Let's head back. In terms of appearance, this is not cheap at all. The same goes for beef bowl restaurants. It's only when it's in a bowl that it becomes valuable. I've only ordered just the meat before, and it's pretty cheap. It makes the food seem cheap, but that's how it is. It's expensive... and it looks cheap. I should have bought a bento at a bento shop. I realized that bento should be bought at a bento shop. No complaints about the meat. I was already prepared for this. It's cheap meat. The seasoning is just for the rice side dish. The ginger tastes cheap, maybe from a tube? Definitely not Japanese. It's a cheap-tasting ginger. It even has a hint of bitterness.

▼Food Consumed▼
- Nori Gyuu (Nori Beef) 390 yen
- (January 2016) A new bento introduced for sale starting January 5. It combines nori bento with beef rice. The white fish fry remains the same, but instead of chikuwa tempura, it includes beef rice with thinly sliced beef. Topped with ichimi togarashi mayo, the beef is seasoned with garlic soy sauce, making it delicious and the rice appetizing.
▼Impressions▼
(January 2016) Hotto Motto, a bento chain that originated from Pranas, the largest franchise company of Hokka Hokka Tei, is now one of the major players in the industry. They actively develop new bento menu items, hold sales, and implement various initiatives. This Asahikawa Nagayama 3-jo shop is located along National Route 39, previously across the street on the 2-jo side. I was craving rice after having ramen, so I decided to try the newly released "Nori Gyuu" bento. It may seem like a simple change from chikuwa tempura to beef, but the beef is deliciously seasoned, making the bento very appetizing for 390 yen. It seems like this bento has become a hit, and personally, I think it's a hit too. I do like chikuwa tempura, but I will definitely be enjoying this Nori Gyuu bento in the future.
