The collaboration dish is called Go Go Gusto Curry. There are various types of curry, including regular Kanazawa Curry, Pork Cutlet Curry, Cheese-in Curry, and the Serious Mix. The dish is quite substantial, and with the option of extra toppings, it's a good value for the price. There are various toppings available, including Cheese-in Hamburg & Fried Egg, which is a classic combination. I also tried the Fried Shrimp and Chicken Karaage, which were tasty. The Pork Cutlet was a bit thin and lacked the usual thickness, but overall, the curry was flavorful and easy to eat. The dessert was a Soft Serve Ice Cream, which was rich and creamy. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Today is a holiday. If you want to go to Gusto, you have to go early or it will be super crowded. I arrived around 5 pm for dinner. As soon as I sat down, more and more people started coming in, and the wait was getting risky. The sky at Gusto was cloudy, and it felt like it could rain at any moment. The clouds looked like they were about to engulf the city. It was hot, so I felt like having shaved ice. But if I had shaved ice here, I wouldn't want anything else. So I decided to have something else first, and if I still felt like it, I would have the shaved ice. However, it got too crowded and my order didn't come out quickly, so I gave up. The menu has changed quite a bit since I last visited. The "Petit Choice" seems to have smaller portions. I ordered the hamburger because when you go to Gusto, you can't go wrong with the hamburger. Especially the cheese-in one. It's a safe choice. There's another type of hamburger with two variations, which seems different from the usual Gusto hamburger. It's called "Master's Hamburger". It doesn't have the cheese-in option. I wonder how the taste differs. I also noticed a menu item called "Light Meal". I looked it up, but there wasn't much information. It seems to refer to a light meal or snack. I found this out on Yahoo Answers. I ordered the hamburger and it was delicious. I also ordered a small portion of french fries, which was a good decision. The fries were not piping hot, but they were still good. I also ordered the grilled chicken with grated daikon radish. It was a new menu item and smaller than I expected. I need to be careful with the portion sizes. The rice potage soup was delicious but the portion was smaller than usual. The potato fries were good, just the right size for me. The carbonara pasta was tasty but lukewarm. I was expecting it to be hotter. The cheese-in hamburger with shrimp fry was the best dish of the day. The cheese was melted inside the hamburger, making it delicious. Overall, Gusto never disappoints with their cheese-in hamburgers. I also ordered spinach with bacon, which was served with a chunk of butter on top. It came out towards the end of the meal, but it was still tasty. I had to go to the drink bar to get salt for it. I managed to find a seat when I arrived, but it quickly became crowded.

On Sunday afternoon in 2023, the half-sized mentaiko cream pasta for 225 yen is a bit exaggerated as it's only about 1/3 or 1/4 of a regular portion. The Margherita pizza for 375 yen is a good deal. The 5-piece chicken nuggets for 175 yen are quite mediocre. The mini pork cutlet rice bowl for 225 yen has average quality in terms of the cutlet, meat, and sauce. The Lucky hamburger steak set with rice and a drink bar for 425 yen has delicious meat quality and sauce. The mountain of french fries for 225 yen is indeed generous. The Lucky Junior Ramen with a drink bar for 250 yen might appeal to children, but the noodles are not to everyone's liking. The crispy fried chicken (3 pieces) for 400 yen is truly tasty. The kids' soft serve for 100 yen and the chocolate banana sundae for 200 yen bring the total to 2,600 yen, which seems a bit expensive compared to the regular price of 4,850 yen.

There are differences when you try different types. The fried chicken from Karahoshi was really tasty. So, it's good to order a set meal. However, that wasn't the purpose of this day. Iron Plate Menu - In two senses, one is, of course, the menu served on a hot iron plate. And the other is the Cheese Hamburger. The deliciousness of this is a sure thing. But... The Impressive Hamburger - This time, I wanted to try this. Michelin Guide Tokyo 2020-2023 One-star listed restaurant "sio" The chef-developed hamburger in collaboration with Chef Shusaku Toba, the owner. I've never been moved by food before. But... I wish you could choose a shrimp salad and glass shortcake as the side dishes. So, I made a course menu on my own. First, Corn Soup for 285 yen. Gusto's corn soup is delicious. And, it was the hottest I've ever had on that day. Corn soup is not usually served hot, but it's a delight for the Japanese when it is. A Doraemon-like character brought the menu developed by the Michelin-listed chef to the table. If this were done in a real restaurant, I wonder if it would not be awarded a Michelin star. But, if this becomes mainstream in the future, Michelin might start listing restaurants where cat-shaped robots serve food. The Impressive Hamburger for 1319 yen, with a large serving of rice. The price for a large serving of rice alone is not listed on the menu, but it appears on the tablet menu. By the way, I checked, and a large serving for takeout is 250 yen, so it's around that price. Also, the Karahoshi Fried Chicken, 3 pieces, is not included in the Skylark app, but it is available on the Smart Menu. Originally 429 yen, now 374 yen with a coupon. A plate of carefully selected ingredients, a thick and juicy hamburger made from a blend of Kyushu black pork and grain-fed beef. Topped with a half-cooked egg. I felt like a regular cheese-in hamburger might be better, but I couldn't try it because I was already full. Spinach Bacon for 220 yen, now 164 yen with a coupon. Sprinkle lightly with salt, and it tastes even better. This has been consistently delicious since the old days. I also ordered dessert. Gâteau Chocolat with Soft Serve Topping for 440 yen. It has a hint of bitterness, and the sweetness is moderate, making it delicious. It's definitely better with soft serve. I made my own course menu, but... There is a restaurant called "Karayoshi" that is part of the Skylark Group. In places like Kanto, they have standalone restaurants, but in Asahikawa, they offer Karayoshi menu items at the Gusto restaurant. On this day, both the Asahimachi and Toyooka branches of Gusto in Asahikawa were offering Karayoshi menu items. However, I really wanted to go to the actual Karayoshi restaurant. Oh well, as long as I can eat, it's fine. The Karayoshi menu is included in the Grand Menu, offering set meals and individual items. The number of pieces of fried chicken ranges from 4 to 6, with flavors like normal, grated daikon, and sweet and thick sauce. Hmm... the one I wanted to try seems to be unavailable. Large Fried Chicken Set Meal for 649 yen. It's as big as the huge fried chicken you see in Taiwan. I really wanted to try this, but it seems they don't have it... very disappointing. Karayoshi Set Meal with 4 pieces for 759 yen. It seems that the large fried chicken set meal is cheaper, so maybe this one has more quantity. By the way, they offered a free large rice serving. This fried chicken is crispy. The texture is just right, and the flavor is well-seasoned. It's juicy when you bite into it, and freshly fried chicken is really delicious. It came with miso on the side. The miso had bits of meat in it. When I tasted it, it was slightly sour. A robot shaped like a cat brought it over, but there was no explanation of what it was. After researching, it seems to be a sesame garlic sauce. I tried dipping the chicken in it, and the garlic flavor is not too strong. It has a slight sourness, but it's a nice change of taste. However, I personally thought it was delicious even without dipping it. There were two types of pickles, pickled radish and kimchi. I understand the pickled radish, but why kimchi? Oh well, kimchi goes well with fried chicken, right? Well, I don't mind it, and the kimchi was actually quite tasty. I tried putting it on top of the rice. I ended up with a bit of leftover rice. It's been a while since I visited. My child had the Lucky Tekkadon and Lucky Potato. I had three pieces of Chicken with grated daikon and a salad. I can't remember the name of the salad, but I think it was seafood. The set came with soup, a drink bar, and bread. The Tekkadon for my child was more voluminous than I imagined, so I ended up leaving some rice. It's better to choose less rice and more toppings to suit children. The Chicken with grated daikon was good, but I would have preferred less sauce since I like mild flavors. The grated daikon was refreshing and delicious. Ordering on the tablet was convenient. Every time I passed by Gusto, I was intrigued by the shop sign that read "Karaage specialty Kara Koshi." I wondered what "Kara Koshi" meant. It turns out that it is a "Karaage specialty shop" under the "Skylark Group." In Asahikawa, there are no standalone "Kara Koshi" stores, so Gusto offers some of the "Kara Koshi" menu items. The basic set meal includes "Momo Karaage" with "Goma Ninniku Tare," but there are also other flavors like Aman Toro, Oroshi, Yannyeom, and Honey Mustard. I decided to try the "Assorted Set Meal" where you can enjoy two different flavors. I ordered the "Assorted Set Meal (2 Momo Karaage + 2 Honey Mustard)" for 781 yen and added the drink bar for 241 yen. The Karaage was served with shredded cabbage and lemon, along with rice, miso soup, and two types of pickles. The Momo Karaage was crispy and not heavily seasoned, meant to be dipped in the sauce. The "Goma Ninniku Tare" had a strong sesame flavor, while the "Honey Mustard" was slightly sweet with a nice mustard aroma. I preferred the Momo with Goma Ninniku Tare. Overall, it was a decent meal, although I'm not sure if it deserved the title of consecutive Grand Prix winner. I ended the meal with a cappuccino and Tropical Iced Tea from the drink bar.

During the state of emergency, the restaurant was only open until 8:00 PM. Even though it's usually crowded, there were noticeable empty seats. It seems like everyone is avoiding going out. The restaurant was dimly lit, and the sun was setting earlier. They have added a new brand's menu to the options, but I wish there was a standalone store for that brand in Asahikawa. They have changed the ordering system to a touchscreen where you input the number of people. I prefer looking at the physical menu rather than using the touchscreen. I tried the special menu of beef dishes, and the fried potatoes were piping hot. I used a coupon and ordered the sizzling hot plate noodles and beef cheese-filled meat cutlet. The cheese was melty and delicious, and the meat was juicy. The portion was substantial, but I couldn't see the spaghetti underneath the cabbage. The spaghetti was a bit lacking in the sizzling noodles, but the texture was good. I also ordered three pieces of fried chicken, which were tasty with a flavorful sauce. Overall, it was a quick meal at the family restaurant Gusto during the state of emergency.

In Kanto and other regions, there are restaurants dedicated to Karahoshi, but here it's available at Gusto. I tried the Karahoshi fried chicken the other day. Various vegetable mixed salad, corn potage, corn oven-baked dish, mountain of french fries, and flavorful meat sauce were on the menu. I also tried the sweet and savory marinated beef dish and finished with a pancake with chocolate banana and mascarpone. All in all, it was a satisfying meal.

Mountain of potato for 219 yen, meat doria for 330 yen, and all-you-can-drink drinks for 99 yen. I used a coupon from the Skylark app for lunch. It's a very good deal. The food is average, but the prices are cheap and you can drink as much as you want from the drink bar, which has a variety of options.

Today, I went to Gusto and tried their special fair menu item, the Taiwan-style mixed noodles. The dish was a collaboration between Taiwanese and Japanese flavors, with ingredients like chives, minced meat, and fish powder. The noodles were slightly curly, similar to ramen noodles, and the taste was amazing. The sweet and savory flavors of the minced meat paired perfectly with the spiciness of the chili oil. Overall, it was a delicious and satisfying meal. I highly recommend trying the dish with a side of white rice for a perfect combination.

On my day off, I had "ginger pork stir-fry for 599 yen (excluding tax) + A set for 429 yen (excluding tax)" for dinner. It was a Sunday night after running errands. I visit this place countless times. It's been a long time since my family came together. Unfortunately, my favorite dish is no longer on the menu. After some thought, I ordered the ginger pork stir-fry. The dish was okay, but it felt like it was lacking in flavor. Maybe it was just this time. I remember Gusto tasting better... My daughter was enjoying the drink bar. "The drink machine here is amazing! It mixes different drinks automatically." I was a bit hesitant to try it this time. That means there are quite a few menu items I don't know. Kind of looking forward to it. Normally, when it comes to Gusto, it's all about the Cheese-in-Hamburger, but I'm curious about the limited time fair menu. So, what kind of menu items are there from where?? Obihiro Pork Bowl & Red Snow Crab Cream Croquette - I know. Tokyo Fukagawa Meshi & Small Shrimp Tempura Udon - I know. Hiroshima Soupless Tan Tan Men - I know. Fukuoka Baked Curry - I know the dish, but not the Fukuoka part. So, are there such things as these... I knew about them all... Hmm, they all seem quite famous to me... I've tried them all before... Hmm, they're all quite well-known, I think. Known to those who know... Am I someone who knows?? No, no, they're all quite famous nationwide, right!! Sausage Grill Come to think of it, I haven't been eating sausages much lately... I only eat them at places like this. Yeah, it's delicious. But personally, I wish they would sear it a bit more. I like it when it cracks when you bite into it, juices splatter out, and you get burned. That's what I like... Ketchup and mayonnaise. I wonder if... Mountain of French Fries By the way, the fries are quite hot, so they must be freshly fried. That's nice. But, what is it, the color doesn't look good. It lacks vividness... I wish it had a more golden, crispy color... It looks like the fries my mom used to fry at home. And, ketchup & mayonnaise. They must already be prepared in a container. Hiroshima Spicy Soupless Tan Tan Men & Rice Set In the end, I chose this. Somehow, I seem to like soupless tan tan men... I'm not good with spicy food, but I like the scent of Szechuan pepper... I prefer it without soup rather than with soup. All in... I went all out!! The Szechuan pepper is small and spicy. But, the ones that have been left out for a while have lost some of their spiciness and flavor. I wonder how that is... Well, since I poured it all in, it should be quite spicy. Mix it. The noodles were already mixed. So I mixed in the soft-boiled egg and minced meat on top. Yeah, the taste is delicious. The spiciness is not too strong, even for me, it's manageable. So, those who like spicy food might find it slightly unsatisfying. And... oh~ I'm starting to feel numb. I guess I put in too much... Later, my mouth started to tingle from the Szechuan pepper... But I like this feeling. ON THE rice. I tried putting it on the rice like yakisoba. And had it together... Yeah... this isn't bad either. Carbohydrates on carbohydrates. But, it's kind of hard to eat... That is... it's too short!! Not all of them, but quite a few noodles were cut into pieces, so the noodles are short. So, it's hard to eat the second half... Oh, maybe the noodles were frozen... Short noodles are not very appetizing... So... I dumped it in. Put it all in the bowl!! This way, I can eat it all. Yeah, the taste of the soup itself is delicious, so it's good with rice too.

When we go to Gusto, the kids always order the Kids Plate with Maguro (tuna) Tataki Don set, while I prefer the adult size Maguro Tataki Don set. It's quite delicious, so in our house, Gusto means Maguro Tataki Don. It comes with hot miso soup and pickles for ¥899 (excluding tax). You can also get extra maguro or adjust the amount of rice. It would be great if we could have unlimited miso soup refills. The Kids Plate with Maguro Tataki Don comes with fried chicken, potatoes, edamame, and jelly. The fried chicken is freshly cooked and very tasty.
