I couldn't go out on this day, so I bought a bento from a nearby "Hotto Motto" store and brought it home. Whenever I come here, I always get the nori bento, but unexpectedly, it was very crowded this time. I thought it would be convenient to order online and pick it up at the designated time, but I ended up waiting for 1.5 hours! What a surprise! It would have been faster to just go to the store. As I headed to the store, I couldn't find a parking space. How popular is this place! I remember seeing it before, although I didn't pay much attention to it, but I recall seeing the young comedians EXIT in a commercial recently. I didn't really know what kind of bento it was, but could it be this one... Dub Cheese and Garlic? For an old guy like me, just the name doesn't tell me anything haha. I bought the "Colorful Salmon and Wakame Bento". It's a colorful bento with flaked salmon and a blend of sesame and green shiso called "shiso wakame". It also includes fried chicken, rolled omelette, and hijiki seaweed. It's a bit on the small side, so it might be just right for women. For people like us, it might be suitable as a side bento. I decided to try it out! Ultimately, the most delicious bento here is the nori bento, in my opinion. And of course, I got the large size haha. Back when I was a part-timer, I ate the nori bento the most. However, on this day, I felt a bit different. I felt adventurous. Recently, they started offering a choice between soy sauce and sauce. In the past, it was up to the staff to decide whether it was soy sauce or sauce. But now you can choose. Of course, I chose soy sauce. It looks like a normal nori bento, right? Even though it's the large size. The toppings are quite ordinary too. Fish fry, fish cake tempura, pickles, and braised burdock. By the way, back in high school, I suddenly felt like eating braised burdock and tried the nori bento from the old "Hokka Hokka Tei" and ended up liking it since then. Before that, I used to leave the braised burdock uneaten. Oh, and what's different about this normal nori bento... Cheese rolls under the seaweed. That's right, I tried the "Dub Cheese" nori bento. It was an adventure for me. Last year, they had something called "Cheese Okaka Nori Bento", and they revamped it to make it even cheesier with a "double cheese" twist. They sprinkle bonito flakes over the rice, pour on raw soy sauce, top it with a 4-cheese sauce including gouda cheese, and place sliced cheese on top before covering it with seaweed. It was... intense. The cheese flavor hits you directly. If I were in my 20s, I would have enjoyed it. But as a person in my 50s, my chopsticks stopped. I don't dislike the taste itself, but I think it would be better with the normal braised burdock underneath. It seems like this bento is aimed at younger people, considering that young comedians are in the commercial. By the way, the other option, the "Garlic Tartar Fried Chicken Bento", is topped with a sweet and spicy garlic soy sauce, made from grated garlic, roasted garlic, and fried garlic, over fried chicken, with toppings like onions and boiled eggs in a tartar sauce. Probably... I would prefer the normal one haha. As an old guy, the regular bento is still the best for me haha. Thank you for the meal. ☞◇In the end, the normal one is the best◆

Takeout from Hotto Motto in Asahikawa at night. The first thing that comes to mind is bento. Well, it's obvious that you can only take out and not eat in the store, but still lol. Anyway, the menu seems to have been updated and... could it be that the collaboration is delicious!? I don't know. Generally, I buy the large Nori Bento with Chicken Basket. But the Chicken Basket was removed from the menu (it has made a comeback as of today! I didn't know). So... it's been a while since I visited. My rule was broken. Looking at the menu... there are many items. I don't understand. Are these the new menu items? From 11/2 to 11/10, it seems like there are limited-time items being sold? Some items are not available. Are those with stickers not yet released? Or does it mean that they are not available at this store? The Tempura Donburi and Spice Curry were not being sold. Now, looking at the photos slowly, it seems more like seasonal limited-time items are available at this time. Will they be removed from the menu after a while? Or will they become regular menu items based on sales? I bought two. One is not enough to fill me up... two make me uncomfortable. But I want to try the limited-time items. So... I bought two. Of course, they are regular size lol. Tuna Mayo Salt Kombu Nori Bento for 390 yen. It looks... just like a regular Nori Bento. Fish fry, chikuwa isobeage... kinpira gobou, and pickles. The price is 60 yen higher than the regular one. Is it worth the extra 60 yen? I flipped the Tuna Mayo seaweed. The Tuna Mayo was spread on top of the rice. But... I didn't feel the Tuna Mayo taste as much as when I ate Tuna Mayo onigiri. Well, it's like, "There's Tuna Mayo in it." The taste of seaweed and kombu is stronger. Maybe the balance of what I ate was off. By the way, did the regular Nori Bento not have kombu in it? If it did... is it worth the extra 60 yen...? Hotto Motto Nori Bento with Dashi Soy Sauce... well, from the days of Hokkahokka Tei, there was always the issue of Nori Bento with sauce or soy sauce. Each time I bought it, it came with either sauce or soy sauce, and there was no consistency. This time, you can choose between sauce and soy sauce. I got Dashi Soy Sauce. Mapo Katsu Don for 590 yen. It was advertised on TV. Well, isn't Katsudon usually made with egg or sauce...? Would you like Mapo sauce on your cutlet...? No, no, no, that's not right!! I thought, but I bought it. First, I tried the Mapo Don. It came with a spoon and chopsticks. It's hard to eat Mapo Don with chopsticks. I tried it with a spoon. It's delicious. The taste of Mapo Don is delicious. When I sprinkled the sansho pepper I had at home and ate it, the spiciness increased. It's delicious just as Mapo Don. Let's try the cutlet. Next is the cutlet... I switched from the spoon to chopsticks. Ah, it's a hassle. So, I tried it with a spoon... it's hard to eat. It's not impossible, but it's better with chopsticks. Thinking about it, eating in the car must be really troublesome. So, how does the Mapo Katsu taste... What is this!!! It's delicious. Really delicious. The crispy texture of the cutlet remains and it's really delicious. Or rather, why wasn't this available until now? Or did I just not know about it? I feel like this should be served at Chinese restaurants too. Limited-time... I wonder how long it will last. I'll try the Mapo Katsu Don again if I get the chance. Thank you for the meal.

Hotto Motto, well, the younger generation might not understand when you say "Hokkahokka Tei". Originally it was Hokkamokka Tei. I used to work part-time there in high school. Now it's Hotto Motto. It's fun when you scan the app at the time of purchase and the Hotto Motto sound plays. But I rarely go there, so I'm always a bronze member. I often buy dinner bento. Today, I wonder what rank I'll be in? If the photo looks delicious, please press the "↓" button!! ⇒ I would be happy if you could press it once!! It's Sunday! I would be happy if you could press it once. Thank you very much! Today, I had this. It seems like the menu has changed a bit. I usually order the Nori Bento with Chicken Basket, but it was gone from the menu. Now it's a Chicken Variety Pack, with more items and a set with chicken nuggets and potatoes. I don't need that much by myself!! So, I chose this bento. Katsudon Oomori Hotto Motto's oomori doesn't feel like oomori to me? Am I the only one who feels that way? It might seem like a lot to women, but I feel it's slightly less. The feeling varies depending on how hungry you are at the time. Katsudon comes with shichimi to sprinkle. It's simmered. The katsu is thoroughly simmered type. I know this because I used to work there, they fry a large amount of katsu with a deep fryer in the morning. If there's some left in the evening, it won't be used for katsu bento. In that case, those pieces will be used for katsudon. It's simmered in the sauce until it's soft and then topped with an egg. So, there's no crispy texture at all. Well, I like this too. In that case, I want the sauce to soak into the rice well. So, when I was working, I used to increase the amount of sauce without permission. It's not soaked in... This can be both patterns. Some like it when the sauce soaks in, others like it when there's still some white left. Actually, I prefer it when it's freshly made and not soaked in. But for bento, I prefer it when the sauce has soaked in well and the white part tastes good. Since it's a bento, it's freshly made, so it's inevitable that it's not soaked in... but the sauce... I wish there was a little more. I wonder if they would do it like Yoshinoya if I asked for it to be extra saucy. Chicken Wings Salt 5 pieces for 240 yen, 10 pieces for 420 yen. It's a good deal to buy 10 pieces. But this day, I had 5 pieces. The flavor is salt. Oh... I ordered salt when I ordered... I misunderstood that there are other flavors. This is quite small. You can easily eat the bone with one bite. So, you can eat 5 or 10 pieces easily. But... I still prefer the Chicken Basket. I rarely go there, so seasonal bento is good, but in the end, I always end up with Nori Bento as my main. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇Fried food is delicious when it's freshly made◇

I tried the "Gapao Rice" that was surprisingly authentic, released by Hotto Motto, based on a recommendation from a friend. It's quite innovative to have Thai cuisine in a bento box from "Hotto Motto." When I arrived at the store, there was a flag outside saying "One bite and you're in Thailand!" I ordered the "Gapao Rice" (560 yen including tax). I also bought "Chicken Nanban Nuggets" (190 yen) and "Potato Salad" (70 yen) as snacks to enjoy with beer at home. The Gapao Rice came with a side salad in a separate container. I poured the included "spicy nam pla" sauce on top and dug in! The rice was topped with plenty of minced meat stir-fried with holy basil, along with bell peppers. It was quite spicy and authentic! If you're not a fan of spicy food, you may want to add the spicy nam pla sauce after tasting the dish. (If you don't like basil, this bento might be a bit challenging as it contains a lot of basil.) The separate salad container came with Caesar dressing. The simple and refreshing salad paired well with the strong flavors of the Gapao Rice. Despite already having rice, it surprisingly went well with beer or wine. The Chicken Nanban Nuggets were a classic choice with a spicy kick, making them a great accompaniment to beer. The Potato Salad, priced at 70 yen, had a small portion but the chunks of potato were larger than usual, which was nice. Taste preferences vary, so not everyone may find the Gapao Rice delicious, but those who enjoy spicy food and find it priced at 560 yen reasonable will likely appreciate it. I initially thought of Hotto Motto as a regular bento chain, but they surprisingly have good planning skills!

Hotto Motto. The old name was Hokka Hokka Tei. When I was in high school, I worked part-time at Hokka Hokka Tei. Just like yesterday's Coco Ichi, I used to eat at either Coco Ichi or Hokka Hokka Tei 3-4 times a week. In the end, I always ended up eating at one of them. Scrambled egg curry at Coco Ichi or the large serving of Nori Bento at Hokka Hokka Tei. It was always one or the other back then. The store I went to at night. When I was working a regular job in Tokyo, I would go there to buy lunch. But most of the time when I went there, it was for dinner. It feels like a lunch place, but I mostly buy bento for dinner. Interestingly, I never buy onigiri at night. It's a mystery. Does the taste change depending on who makes it? Today, I wonder what place it will be. If it looks delicious, please click the "↓" button! ⇒ Try pressing it once! The menu has really expanded compared to when I worked part-time. They introduce new menu items every month. However, I have only tried 2-3 menu items. I always end up getting the Nori Bento or the Katsudon. I may have tried the Karaage Bento a few times. That's about it. I wonder if health-conscious people don't buy bento here. What do you think? The menu includes barley rice and vegetables as a side dish. I don't need a lot of vegetables in my bento. But that's how it is with bento, right? I tried ordering a new menu item this time, which is rare for me. I usually stick to the same few menu items. The Chicken Basket Karaage is sold for 70 yen per piece. But when you order the Chicken Basket, you get 10 pieces for 590 yen, which is a great deal! I like to sprinkle spices generously and eat it with a salty taste. They used to include lemon juice, but they don't anymore. The White Fish Fry and Menchi Katsu. The White Fish Fry is the same as the one in the Nori Bento, which I like. They used to come with soy sauce or sauce. I don't remember if it was in the manual. I like that you can choose barley rice for the regular bento. I prefer regular white rice. This is a bowl with both Katsudon and Gyudon toppings. It's good for someone like me who likes a variety of flavors. But wait... the katsu seems to be less now? I wonder if this was really the large serving. The Katsudon is good. I like bento Katsudon. The flavor seeps into the rice, making it moist and flavorful. I like that. The Gyudon... it's basically a Gyudon with an egg on top. I remember having something similar called "Kaika Don" at a certain chain restaurant. This one seems a bit small. A handful and it's gone. Oh, the amount of katsu is also lacking, and the amount of beef is also lacking. I realize now that the rice was probably not the large serving. I ended up getting a bit disappointed with my choice and the amount of food this time. I'd like to try it once. I want to try the Hotto Motto hors d'oeuvre. It looks delicious, not too expensive, high in calories, and like a dream appetizer for me. Someday, I'd like to try it. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ In the end, the regular bento is the best. ◆ I bought a similar one, but it's a bit different. Announcement ==========

Today is Friday, so it's time for Hillmori-ta. It's the first broadcast of October. There might be a guest coming, possibly someone from the music industry. Tune in for the live broadcast on FM Rabel starting at 12 PM! I have an app on my phone for Hotto Motto, where you can accumulate points that can be converted into money, but my rank hasn't been going up at all. Well, I don't go there often anyway. In the past, it used to be called Hokka Hokka Tei. I worked part-time there during high school. There was a dispute over the name being confusing, and it eventually changed to Hotto Motto. But if it ended up changing to Hotto Motto, what was the point of the dispute back then? Do you eat bento boxes? What rank will I be today? If it looks delicious, press the "↓" button! Check out the lineup for today. Even if I buy all of this, it's still much cheaper than eating out. Is it too much to buy all of this? When you see it, you just want everything, right? But the portion size for a single meal is small. I usually go for the Noriben. It's always Noriben, and it's always the large size. When I was living alone in Tokyo, I used to alternate between this and Cocoichi. I chose the white fish fry this time, and it was delicious. I also tried adding Menchi this time. I forgot to take a photo because I ate it all at once. There's a limited-time Gapao Rice, and it's quite tasty. Gapao Rice is originally a Thai dish, but the version in Japan has its own unique twist. I also bought the Chicken Basket, but this time it was disappointing. The fried chicken was pre-fried, so it was hard and lukewarm. Unfortunately, it didn't come with a lemon this time. It's 70 yen each, but it's a good deal to get 10 for 590 yen. So, it was definitely an overeating bento today. Thank you for the meal.

I was thinking about what to have for dinner when I suddenly felt like having Bibimbap! So, I went to Hotto Motto♪ Their Bibimbap is really delicious♪ I ordered the meat-packed one with an egg, it was around 730 yen I think? There were many other menu options, so I hesitated a bit before deciding on the Bibimbap! There are several types of Bibimbap to choose from, so it was a tough decision haha. I also got a takeout beer to go with it♪ It comes with a spicy sauce that you can adjust to your liking. I found that using about two-thirds of the sauce was just right. The Bibimbap had lots of ingredients and I mixed it all together vigorously before devouring it with my beer! Ah, what a blissful moment♪ヽ(´▽`)/ Thank you for the meal! (´∇`) On a side note, I might get addicted and end up going there every day, so Hotto Motto is dangerous haha.

Today is Hillmori-ta. We have a live broadcast from 12 o'clock. Please listen to it on the app "Risuraji". It's on FM Level 83.7MHz. What should I have for lunch... maybe I'll just go to Hotto Motto. But then I end up coming here. I end up coming, but now I'm indecisive again. I still haven't decided. Before going to the restaurant, I check the menu on the website. Still can't decide... I enter the restaurant and look at the menu. Still can't decide... Usually, I end up with the Noriben (seaweed rice bowl) in a large serving. This time, I'll definitely order something different. Do you like bento boxes? What place will I be today? If it looks delicious, click the "↓" button! ⇒ Try pressing it once! And this is what I ended up with: Katsudon and Furufuru salad. In the end, I can't take risks. I don't want to make a mistake with lunch... or dinner. I don't want to make a mistake with any meal. So, it ends up being safe... depending on my mood. I tried something new this time. In my opinion, it was a bit of an adventure. I bought it for the first time. I like bento boxes. How will it rank today? It looked good, so please click the "↓" button! ⇒ Try pressing it once! So, it turned out to be Katsudon and Furufuru salad. I like Katsudon. I've always liked the Katsudon from Hotto Motto (Hokka Hokka Tei). Sometimes the pork cutlet is freshly fried, and sometimes it's not. When it's been fried for a while, the meat can be quite tough. This depends on the frying time. Ideally, the meat should be half-cooked and fried on high heat, then simmered to adjust. That's the best way. Delicious. The cooking at Hotto Motto can vary depending on the part-time staff working there. If the part-time worker enjoys cooking, the food tends to be delicious. When I worked there, I received quite a few compliments. They would ask for the dish I made. It's nice to hear that. By the way, the sauce for the Katsudon has a strong dashi flavor and is slightly sweet. I like to sprinkle shichimi (seven-spice blend) on top. Oh, I also like to sprinkle sansho powder on it. But... I haven't been eating Katsudon that much lately... I haven't had tonkatsu in a while either... Maybe it's because I'm getting older? Thank you for the meal. ⇒ Sometimes I eat bento boxes, and it's best when it's freshly made. Comments are appreciated. ※Pino Mi: Some stores might have it! I bought it at 7-Eleven. Please take a look! ※Otemon momchan0404: Otemon was the first restaurant in Asahikawa to put green onions on gyutan (beef tongue). When you eat here, other places might feel disappointing. In Sapporo, there's a sister restaurant called Yakiniku Hanzaimon on Ishiyama Street along Minami 39-jo, so you can have the same dish there. It might be a bit far, but it's worth a visit! ☆Chie☆: That's right, with sets, something always seems to be missing. So, you end up ordering something extra... that's why I prefer ordering individual items. I don't eat as much as I did in my student days, especially. Sangchu, egoma, rice, and meat all mixed together... this is also very delicious. Tare rice??? On the menu??? Is it already on there or do you add it yourself? I want to moisten it to my liking. I also tried a challenge this time. What's the filling for the onigiri this time? Preview.

Hotto Motto. It's delicious when you eat it occasionally. By the way, it is a familiar place to me because I used to work part-time at Hokka Hokka Tei, the predecessor of Hotto Motto, during high school. It's open until late at night. I wonder how many times I've eaten there. The first time I ate there was at the Tsukishima store, I remember it clearly. It suddenly opened next to a friend's house when I was in 6th grade. During a school trip, everyone in class was teasing me saying, "Nikko will bring a Hokka Hokka Tei bento, right?" Even I confidently said yes, but I didn't bring it, so I was teased a lot. Looking back now, it's better to bring your mom's homemade bento on a school trip, right? After that, during high school, I suddenly had a craving for the burdock root that comes with the nori bento, and that's how I started eating burdock root, which I couldn't eat before. Do you want to buy a bento? What rank will it be today? If it looks delicious, click the "↓" button!! ⇒ Try clicking it once!! BIG Nori Bento (White Fish Fry) The BIG Nori Bento now offers a larger size option. You can choose between white fish fry and croquette. However, when it comes to Nori Bento, the white fish fry is the way to go. The "BIG Nori Bento" features a doubled portion of rice topped with bonito flakes, seaweed, and a variety of side dishes such as double the size of tempura squid, fried chicken, white fish fry, ham, and a fried egg. The addition of mayonnaise as a flavor accent is also a key point. According to the website. The difference between the Nori Bento and this one is the double portion of tempura squid, fried chicken, ham, and fried egg. Fried chicken with mayonnaise Fried chicken with mayonnaise is a classic combination. Back in the day when I was working part-time, I used to make freshly fried chicken for myself to eat. And I used to have a lot of sneaky bites as well. White fish fry with mayonnaise This is also a classic combination. White fish fry with soy sauce or sauce? Which one do you prefer? I used to be a sauce person without a doubt, but recently soy sauce tastes better to me. By the way, I still don't know which is the correct one, soy sauce or sauce, when it comes with the bento. I don't remember asking for the correct answer when I was working part-time, so I wonder which one is right. Mayonnaise on fried egg and ham Here we go again, mayonnaise. I don't usually put it on, but it's there. By the way, this is where opinions are divided. Do you prefer sauce or soy sauce on fried egg? I'm in the "either is fine" camp. Double the tempura squid. I usually buy the Nori Bento at Hotto Motto, so I'm quite familiar with it, but the tempura squid is indeed longer. But is it twice as long as before? I don't remember it being that small in the Nori Bento. However, I'm happy that it's longer. Tempura squid is delicious, isn't it? By the way, do you like sauce or soy sauce on tempura squid? I'm fine with either. Fried chicken wings (Salt flavor, 10 pieces) Instead of the Nori Bento, I ordered the Chicken Basket this time. By the way, the Chicken Basket is more cost-effective than ordering just the fried chicken side dish. And these chicken wings were quite delicious. I guess not many people order this kind of side dish. It was delicious, and I enjoyed it. ⇒ Bento is something you crave when you forget about it. I made a vinegar preview.

I'm alone at the Hotto Motto Kamiisanchome Asahikawa store. Yome-san was surprisingly up at a time later than me. She went downstairs before me last night to "study" because she has an exam tomorrow. I wonder if it's the kind of exam you can pass by cramming overnight? Well, since she hasn't studied at all, it seems impossible. I took a bath and went downstairs, and it was dark. She's sleeping with her legs wide open. I feel embarrassed looking at her like that. Maybe she'll wake up early in the morning to study. I doubt she'll pass though. I see in my notes that there's a bakery. Today, I've noted down four bakeries. I need to control the number of visits to each bakery, or I might end up opening one myself. In the afternoon, I got rejected by a few places, so I decided to stop by a bento shop as a thank you for the other day. The real battle is until 3 PM, but it seems impossible now. I found a Hotto Motto along the way. There were no customers, but it seemed busy, so they must have reservations. I'm curious about the limited-time menu, but I'm more interested in the garlic-flavored fried chicken. I ordered it as a single item. It's not really cheaper as a single item, even with a 100 yen discount. I asked the relaxed older sister for my order. I got number 58. The background music sounded like movie music. Is it because of my unique circumstances? I waited for about 10 minutes and reached the limit of 3 PM. I'll find a place that's open all day and head back in about an hour. The garlic flavor is strong and appetizing. I'm not a fan of acidity, but I also ordered the chicken nanban. The taste is really good. The meat is not bad, but the batter is a bit thick. However, it's delicious, so it's fine. The tartar sauce doesn't stand out much, but that's okay, right?

The nearest Hotto Motto from my house... might be this one. It's not that close, though. Well, it's still bright outside but I'm going to buy dinner. I originally thought of ordering online and picking it up. But in the middle of ordering, I had to add one more thing, so I resumed the order. What! Just a few minutes ago it said it would be ready in 30 minutes, but now it's saying 1 hour and 40 minutes later. Is everyone ordering online at this time? Is it this crowded? Oh well, I decided to order at the store. And it only took 10 minutes to be ready. Hmm, what's the deal with online orders? Hotto Motto's menu changes every month. This month's new items are Beef Lemon Bento, Beef Sundubu Bento, and eel. I wasn't planning on eating eel at Hotto Motto. There are new items here too. Lemon flavors include beef and pork. There's also Plum Pork Shabu-Shabu. Hmm, so many choices... But I always end up choosing the seaweed bento. The Green Onion Salted Beef Tongue Bento looks good, eating beef tongue in a bento box. How happy that must be. However, it's a bit pricey at 900 yen. Oh, it's only available from 7/25 onwards. In the end, I chose this. The main dish and side dish only. Beef Lemon Bento for 900 yen. Normally it's 600 yen, but with double the meat, it's 900 yen. And the Lemon is the key! The Green Onion Salted Pork Ribs Bento costs 580 yen, and with double the meat, it's 870 yen. The side dish alone is 100 yen off the bento price. The rice alone costs 140 yen. Wait a minute! 900 yen plus 770 yen is 1670 yen! Was it more expensive than the double beef tongue? The Green Onion Salted Pork Ribs with onions fried together with pork. The meat has quite a bit of fat. It's like a cross between Kalbi and pork belly in thickness. I thought it was like the fatty part of grilled meat at a barbecue restaurant, but the taste is a bit different. However, when you squeeze the lemon, it becomes quite refreshing and delicious. This is really tasty. It's good as a side dish on its own or with rice. But the combination of salted pork with lemon feels like something you'd eat at a barbecue restaurant. The Beef Lemon Bento looks like a regular grilled meat bento. It's indeed full of cabbage, as advertised. But the cabbage is roughly chopped raw cabbage. I was expecting it to be sautéed a bit, but it's raw cabbage. I thought the meat and cabbage were fried together, but it was made with raw cabbage underneath the meat. The lemon dressing is also separate. I thought it would be a lemon-flavored dressing, but you have to pour it yourself. I thought it would be a lemon-flavored dressing because it's called Beef Lemon. However, this soy sauce-based dressing goes well with lemon juice. I learned for the first time that lemon juice goes well with this dressing. If you don't pour lemon juice, it tastes like a typical Kalbi grilled meat bento. Nonetheless, I realized that lemon juice goes well with soy sauce dressing, and that was a good discovery. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇ Buy lemons for BBQ at home ◇

It's been a while since I visited Hotto Motto. I tried to order online and pick it up, but the earliest pickup time was 1 hour and 40 minutes after ordering. I couldn't wait that long, so I decided to buy directly at the store. Surprisingly, there was no one there waiting. It seems like a lot of people are ordering online. I remembered the Hokkaido limited Fighters bento, so I decided to try it to get a trading card, even though I didn't really need it. The menu was a bit underwhelming when I saw the actual dishes. The bento costs 590 yen and includes pork cutlet, ginger grilled meat, mini hamburger steak, chicken nuggets, and sausage. I placed my order at the counter and requested a mini udon. The staff asked the kitchen if they had udon, and after a little wait, they served it to me. The udon turned out to be quite salty, and I was surprised to find out that I had to pour hot water over it to eat it. I also ordered the Nori bento, which has been a classic favorite of mine. It consists of chikuwa and white fish fry, and it always tastes delicious. I also tried the kinpira, which I first had in a bento from the same chain when I was a student. Overall, the food was satisfying, and it's nice to be able to enjoy the same classic flavors that I remember from the past.

Eating out at night has become rare. I mostly go out for lunch. Most of the time, I eat dinner at home. I hope we can feel more at ease going out soon. People seem to be coming to buy more often now. Even late at night, it's quite crowded, and there's a long wait even for online orders. By the way... When I was living alone in Tokyo, I used to eat at Hotto Motto (Hokka Hokka Tei) four times a week, haha. It's not listed here. On this day, I ordered online. I wanted to try a menu item that I had seen before. It's not available in the regular bento section. Let's share the deliciousness and have fun. Well, not that much fun, but the menu was displayed at the counter. But the bento I wanted on that day is only available from November 17th. Strange, I knew it existed before... By the way, this item is listed at the bottom of the side dish category, so it's not easy to find. Anyway, it's a new product. Family Yakiniku Garlic Rice. Yes, I wanted to try this. It comes with 400g of rice. There's a similar item called Family Yakiniku Garlic Rice, but maybe I saw that one before... Ta-da!!! Kanmeshi. Family??? No, it's Kanmeshi! This is not a large portion menu item, haha. Am I numb to the portion size? No, I'm not, haha. Double Cut Steak Juu is a regular menu item, but compared to this, it's more impressive. But this one seems to have quite a powerful impact. Meat meat meat. Family Steak Garlic Rice is made by combining cut steak with garlic rice that smells of garlic. By the way, there's no menu item for just steak meat or garlic rice, so you have to order this. The meat is like a typical bento shop's, but at 1180 yen, it's satisfying enough. Oh, the garlic rice is strongly garlic-flavored. But personally, I wish they would add even more garlic and make it more punchy. Well, this is for families, after all. I wonder how many people they are thinking of for a family? If it's for 4 people, it's definitely not enough. I really want to enjoy it to the fullest by myself... Family Fried Potato. It's like having about 4 bags of fried potatoes. It's 450 yen for this, while the regular fried potatoes cost 130 yen, so it's a bit cheaper. But... since it's about 4 bags worth... it doesn't mean it's all in there. In terms of taste, it was like the medium-sized fried potatoes. I couldn't eat all of it, so I froze the rest. It's also nice to try out hard-to-find menu items at Hotto Motto!! It's good to have this when you're hungry. Thank you for the meal. ⇒◇Someday I want to try the family yakiniku at Hotto Motto◇

Just a little more until the state of emergency is over... I hope so. Please!! Just a little more patience. So, I went to buy bento. It's crowded... If I'm a little late, the store will be closed. In that case, convenience store... bento shop. Frozen food... maybe bento. I try ordering online... I remembered!! But... the earliest is 40 minutes later. It's crowded... everyone is thinking the same thing. When ordering a seaweed bento online, you choose soy sauce or sauce. They don't ask when you pick it up... I'm a soy sauce person. By the way, when I used to work part-time, I don't remember there being a manual. I just put on whatever I felt like. Simple and delicious. There are various bento at "Hotto Motto". But in the end, I always come back to the seaweed bento. There's also a "W Big Kalbi Bento" (double meat) but I prefer the large serving of seaweed bento. The familiar ones never change. Rice with sprinkled seasoning, topped with 2 sheets of seaweed. White fish fry, fish cake tempura, kinpira burdock, and pickled vegetables. In the end, it's a taste that never gets old. And I tried a bento I've never had before. The "Dai Ban Kalbi Double" with double the meat. It's quite heavy. The rice is topped with Kalbi meat. Quite a lot of meat piled up. After all, it's double the normal amount. You can barely see the rice under the meat, it's a nice view. On top of that, there was pickled ginger as an accent. And... it's huge... The size of one piece of meat is big!! What a satisfying size. There were about 4 pieces of meat on it. So, normally it would be 2 pieces. The seasoning is a sweet and savory soy sauce base, typical of Kalbi. But it's delicious. I sprinkled my favorite sansho pepper on top and it became even more flavorful. Mmm, this had a lot of eating satisfaction. Now, when you order online, there are menus where you can get a free upgrade to a large serving of rice. By the way, this wasn't free, but... Anyway, following the seaweed bento, this will be a candidate for my next order. Thank you for the meal. ⇒◇The more generous the portion, the better it looks and tastes◇

On this day, I went to buy a bento nearby. It seems that a new campaign has started in July. This time, I tried making a net reservation for the first time. At first, I was a bit hesitant. I had to select the bento and put it in the shopping cart to place an order. Even though I had made my selection, the total amount remained at 0 yen, which confused me. I had to choose again and put it in the shopping cart. Payment can be made by card or at the store. Once you get the hang of it, it's quite convenient. You can even set the order time. However, the order was ready before the specified time. From July 1st, there is a meat menu festival with items like large Kalbi, double large, and cut steak. I definitely want to join this festival. As for the regular menu, I usually go for the nori bento or occasionally the katsudon. Last time I tried the mapo chicken cutlet, which was quite delicious. The tororo double cut steak was interesting, but the meat was a bit tough. The combination of tororo and steak seemed unnecessary but unique. The special Western variety bento was quite luxurious and had a good amount of side dishes. The fried food section seemed to be taking on half of the bento's calories. The spaghetti with meat sauce underneath was a nice touch, and the mini hamburger was tasty. The steak bento had steak laid over the rice, and the steak sauce was delicious. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, although quite high in calories.

Today, the state of emergency has come to an end for now. Asahikawa City is now under targeted measures to prevent the spread of infection, or maybe everything has been lifted? For now, I bought a bento for lunch. I didn't order online, for some reason, I still can't do it. I also didn't order by phone. I went there and ordered, like people used to do in the past. I've been seeing a new menu item in commercials lately, where you can add three pieces of karaage for an extra 150 yen. I wonder if adding karaage to a karaage bento would make it a really satisfying amount... If I were to do that, I would add karaage to a chicken basket and get 13 pieces with rice... That would be the most satisfying amount, I think. There seem to be new menu items too. I always end up getting the nori bento because it's the safest choice. But it's not very exciting. I want to try something else... I don't have much adventurous spirit. Okay, this time I'll try something other than the nori bento... I waited inside the store. What a meaningless way to spend time. If I had ordered online, I could have just gone and picked it up at the designated time. It's so easy, but for some reason, I can't do it... Next time, I'll try it when I come. I thought that as I waited, I noticed that there are more people picking up orders placed online nowadays. It seems like a modern thing to do. I'm like a caveman... I bought three bentos. It's not just for one person... In the past, I might have been able to eat them all, but this time, it's three people for three bentos. Lurouhan Bento for 540 yen: A Taiwanese classic dish called "Lurouhan" turned into a bento. When you open the lid, you'll be enticed by the aroma of a blend of spices such as star anise and Sichuan peppercorns called "Wuxiangfen." Enjoy the complex umami that spreads throughout your mouth as you eat the diced pork and stir-fried mustard greens with the special sauce and fried egg. I tried to smell the aroma, but I didn't really get the scent of star anise and Sichuan peppercorns. It's mustard greens rice... I had it at a popular restaurant in Taiwan. It was really delicious. So, I took a bite, but... it's just mustard greens rice. The meat is slightly larger than what I had in Taiwan. The seasoned meat is topped with plenty of diced pork, giving it a different feel. For those who have eaten it in Taiwan, this bento might feel a bit off. Gapao Rice for 560 yen: I knew it was a limited-time item before, but now it's a regular item. It's not a menu item I usually order, so I haven't seen it much. I remember it used to come with a side of salad, but now it's separate. I didn't know that. The salad comes with Caesar dressing, and the seasoned dish comes with spicy nampla. According to the website... Gapao Rice is called "Basil Stir-Fried Rice" in Japanese. In Japan, Gapao Rice is often made with chicken, but in Thailand, it's made with various ingredients such as pork, seafood, mushrooms, and more. The red bell pepper and green basil make a beautiful combination, and there are also yellow bell peppers in some versions. The ingredients are stir-fried, seasoned with oyster sauce and nampla, and served on rice with a fried egg on top. It's common to squeeze lemon over it. I didn't get any lemon with mine... Mabo Chicken Katsu Don for 620 yen: I chose this one. It's chicken katsu topped with mapo sauce. I had mapo katsu at a convenience store before, and it was good. So, I thought this would be a safe choice... but... There's just so much on it. There's a lot of katsu... Especially with the special, it's enough for two people. The mapo is not spicy, more on the mild side. I added some Sichuan pepper I had at home. It's delicious, but I wish there was a bit more mapo sauce on it.
