I visited in early August on a weekday after 3 pm. I don't have any photos, but I have been here before, so this is my second visit. I remembered that it was easy to drink here, so I decided to drop by. It's conveniently located near the station! I was able to enter smoothly. I used it for about an hour to adjust my time before taking the Shinkansen, and had a light meal (they also have hearty menu options). It's easy to enter even if you're alone, and I was guided to a counter seat. I think the cost performance here is great! It might be fun to try various unique menu items. Oh, and maybe because it was early, but I didn't have to pay a table charge or anything. I was able to get pleasantly tipsy~ I will definitely use it again when I come to Kyoto!! Thank you for the meal ^^

It was a weekday but it was lunchtime so I waited for about 20 minutes. The exterior is stylish, with lunch menus and bar menus available, creating a nice atmosphere. I was happy that I could enjoy various stylish alcoholic drinks from noon. I recommend the wagyu beef tataki and the cutlet!

I went to a French bistro and had lunch. I was torn between the beef harami steak with truffle butter or the new menu item of omurice with demiglace sauce, but I decided on the beef harami. The meat was excellent and the truffle butter really enhanced its flavor. It would go well with red wine.

This is a French izakaya that opened in the Porta area of Kyoto Station. It's known for its great cost performance, with a branch also in Umeda, Osaka. They offer lunch menus with dishes like steak and hamburgers, which are quite substantial for around 1500 yen. I ordered the steak lunch plate (with truffle butter) and a few items a la carte. Despite the reasonable prices, each dish had a unique touch and was delicious. The steak was a bit firm but flavorful, and the a la carte menu paired well with wine. The bouillon chawanmushi in particular was delicious. I didn't have high expectations for the wine, but they offer good quality options at affordable prices. A glass of Roero Arneis white wine was 650 yen, and a Chablis from France was around 700 yen. They also recommended the I'm series wine for 450 yen, which was surprisingly tasty. The wine servings were generous, which was a nice touch. You can place orders through your smartphone, avoiding the hassle of calling over staff in a noisy restaurant. The seats towards the back are a bit quieter, making it a good option for a night out or a course menu.

I had lunch at "French Izakaya GOLD" in Kyoto Station on a holiday. Reservations are required on weekdays, but you can enter without a reservation on weekends. It was a holiday, but there were only about 3 groups waiting, so we were able to get in quickly. Both the harami steak and the wagyu beef cutlet were tender and had a strong meaty flavor, and they were delicious. Personally, I preferred the beef cutlet. The lunch came with a choice of rice or bread. We also ordered the "Grilled Shrimp and Octopus with Herb Bread Crumbs" and "Nagaimo with Anchovy Parsley Sauce." The combination of nagaimo and anchovy was excellent. It was incredibly delicious. The dishes were so good that I wanted to try making them at home. Many people were ordering steak and small dishes while enjoying a drink during lunch. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the food were top-notch, and it was a place I would like to visit again and recommend to everyone. It's great for going with friends, but I also think it would be a nice place for a date. Definitely give it a try.

Before boarding the Shinkansen, we used this place. We were able to enter without waiting in line. The beer, highball, fluffy omelette, pickled cabbage, and harami steak were all delicious for 4,000 yen. Especially the harami steak was excellent! However, it took some time for the dishes to come out, so if you're short on time for the train, it might be a bit rushed. It seems like all restaurants are short-staffed. The pickled cabbage was neatly arranged by the part-time worker, who struggled a bit. The taste was refreshing and just to my liking. Thank you for the meal!

This time, I used it for a girls' night out. The French cuisine was average, neither exceptionally delicious nor bad. The meat was not too tender or tough, and the seasoning was similar to what you might cook at home. The size of the salmon was decent, and the seasoning was okay. The prices for alcohol were similar to a regular izakaya. One good point was the tablet ordering system, which made it stress-free as we could easily call for a server. I visited on a weekday night, and about 60% of the seats were occupied. The staff seemed to be mostly part-timers, but they were friendly.

Everything is seasoned with a sour taste and the scent of herbs is too strong, making it hard to taste or smell the ingredients. The beef tenderloin cutlet is tough and the French shumai is also served with a Demi-glace sauce, which is also sour. The restaurant is called "Gold", maybe named after the owner. The main branch is located in Osaka. The only thing that wasn't sour was the very light oolong tea, which tasted like water.

I was lured in by a sign advertising bubbles for around 200 yen during Happy Hour (or maybe it was different), so I decided to revisit the restaurant. I ordered the butter with dried fruits soaked in rum. The subtle scent of rum, the texture of the dried fruits, and the rich butter were all delicious. It was a weekday afternoon outside of lunchtime, so the restaurant was quiet and cozy. It's still one of my favorite places to go. Plus, it's nice to earn Porta points here.

Happy hour, sparkling wine is cheap! (It's great that they pour generously~) The food is all good value for money. The deep-fried seaweed was delicious, I want to eat it again. A bit off topic from the food, but I like the operation of asking "Can we bring you a drink and some appetizers when you enter?" (Recently, many places just bring appetizers without asking...)

Around 1 pm on a weekday, there was a short wait for seating, but I was able to enter relatively quickly. The counter seats had stylish white tables. There were mostly female customers, but there were also many solo diners, so I think it's a place where anyone can feel comfortable. I ordered the mushroom cream chicken cutlet and the prosciutto. Both were around 1000 yen, considering the location and atmosphere, I think it's reasonably priced. When having lunch at Porta, it's usually around that price range. The chicken cutlet was delicious, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. Since I had plans later and couldn't enjoy alcohol, if I have the chance to go again, I would like to try different items on the menu at night when there are more options to choose from.

There are no such shops in Kyoto, so it's an easy-to-use shop when you want to drink wine quickly. The food and service are good value for money. The pasta wasn't quite to my liking, but everything else I ate was delicious. There are many types of wine to choose from, making it a fun place to pick.

★Directly connected to JR and subway "Kyoto" station. ★Casual atmosphere, a bit noisy. You can see simple cooking from the counter seats, but it doesn't add to the experience. ★I had the Harami beef & crab cream croquette for 1,280 yen (tax included). The harami beef was not tender. The cost and quality don't match. I asked the nearest staff (probably a new employee) if the truffle butter comes with the menu I ordered. They said no, so I ordered it separately. When the dish was brought out, the truffle butter was already on the meat, and there was an additional truffle butter in a separate dish. When I told the staff who brought the food that I had confirmed it was not included and ordered it separately, they said, "Oh, cancel it then!" ← That explanation was wrong, right? It was before 11:30 am, not crowded yet, but the water came late, and I think plastic cups don't fit a dish priced at 1,280 yen. All the staff seemed young, and I wondered if no one could correct the poor service. Disappointing.

I entered the restaurant on Monday around 8:00 PM. There were empty seats available, so I was able to get in without waiting. I ordered potato salad. Tuna and bread were served as appetizers. I wanted to order more, but since I was dining alone, I decided against it as I wouldn't be able to finish it all. Being able to order through my smartphone was really convenient!

I visited around 4:00 pm on Sunday. The restaurant was not full, but there was a constant flow of customers coming in. Everything I ate was delicious and had great value for the price. I especially liked the Namimami Sparkling drink, which was served generously and was easy to drink. Ordering was convenient with QR codes, and being able to see photos of the dishes was helpful. If you're looking to drink near Kyoto Station, this is the place to go!

The restaurants in Porta were all crowded, but I managed to slip into a counter seat since I was dining alone. For lunch, they offered curry, steak, chicken cutlet, and pasta, among which I chose the bacon and black pepper carbonara. The dish came with salad and baguette, and the carbonara itself was plentiful and flavorful, with a nice amount of pepper. It was a great place for a casual solo lunch.

This kind of cuisine is relatively rare around here, which is good. The menu at the entrance has photos for some items, but once you're inside, the menu lacks photos which is disappointing. Sangria Red ⦿ comes in a large glass with plenty of fruit pieces, and it's on the sour side. Non-alcoholic lemonade ⦿ comes with a baguette that tastes like canned tuna (although the onion is not really noticeable). The recommended steak with a mark ⦿ is a bit tough but has great seasoning, perfect for dipping bread in. The rosemary flavor is strong. The oven-baked half onion ○ tastes like a baked onion with a bit of a twist. The herb and breadcrumb sautéed shrimp and octopus △ was not what I expected - I thought it would be in a garlic oil, but it turned out to be in a sour lemon white sauce. The shrimp was average, and the octopus was a bit tough. I love seafood, but I couldn't finish it. The single dumpling topped with karasumi powder ○ was tasty, but the meat was just okay. It's a casual French countryside-style small plate restaurant, so the service is minimal. It was quite crowded as it was nearing closing time on a weekday during the tourist season.

I went around 1:00 pm. I ordered the lunch set with cream croquette and harami. The taste was a bit strong, I think. The meat was a bit tough. It would be helpful to have a knife to cut it into smaller pieces. Also, I noticed that there are many young children at the restaurant, so it would be nice to have children's plates and chairs. Eating while holding a child seems difficult.

This day we only had lunch and were thinking of having a drink near Kyoto Station in the evening, so we wandered around and found Porta Dining. It was crowded with people even though it was an odd time. We waited for a while and finally got a table for four. We ordered potato salad and harami steak to share. I couldn't drink any more beer, so I tried a different drink, which was a mistake. The potato salad had a whole boiled egg on top, but it was hard to eat without crushing it. The bread and pate were complimentary. We waited for the harami steak for 30 minutes, and it still didn't come. When we inquired, they said it would be ready soon. After another 10 minutes of waiting, we asked if we could cancel the order, and suddenly it was ready. We ended up paying about 9000 yen for four people, even though the timing was a bit off. Overall, the service could have been better, but the food was good.
