I visited a restaurant that I really like after a long time. Each dish was very delicate and well-crafted, making each bite a truly enjoyable dining experience. And yet, it was reasonably priced. They had a wide selection of sake, and I ordered as recommended, which paired perfectly with the meal. This was my fifth visit, and I definitely want to continue going to this restaurant.

I went to a restaurant in Kanda Station that I had never been to before for a meal with a customer. We ordered a set course and chose our drinks a la carte to match the dishes. The broth was not as light as in Kyoto, but had a rich flavor. The strong broth flavor made the deliciousness easy to understand. Each dish felt like the main attraction. My customer was pleased, so I felt relieved for now!

We used this restaurant for a company drinking party. We enjoyed unique dishes such as simmered figs and rice with bamboo shoots in a clay pot. There was a wide variety of sake and shochu, and my colleagues who like alcohol were enjoying trying different kinds. I think about half of the bill was for drinks. It's a nice, cozy little place.

Today, at the request of a friend, we found a delicious fish restaurant in Nihonbashi. It was our first time at this restaurant, and it was very reasonably priced and delicious. We had corn chawanmushi, carrot jelly, mozzarella with kudzu, white asparagus tofu, white fish sashimi, simmered greens and mushrooms, fried squid, cheese castella, truffle-scented rapeseed blossoms, clear soup with clams, shimeji mushrooms, komatsuna greens, chestnut fu, and yuzu. The main dishes included grilled pike conger, flounder, assorted simmered dishes, sea bream, eggplant hollandaise, shiitake mushrooms, Moroccan green beans, clay pot rice with new ginger and sprouts, grilled herring with rice bran, ponzu sauce, red miso soup, nori seaweed, Japanese mustard, and pickles. For dessert, we had hojicha pudding and sweet beans. It was incredibly delicious.

Around 12:30, when passing by, there was still space available. Before COVID, it would have been lucky to get in when they weren't sold out. This place only has one type of menu: a daily Japanese set meal for 1100 yen. Today's meal was tuna sashimi on rice with seasoned vegetables (konyaku, meatballs, pumpkin, shiitake) and mozzarella chawanmushi. The tuna was marinated perfectly, with a great balance of tuna flavor and soy sauce. The seasoned vegetables were plentiful and healthy. The simmered dish was well-cooked and delicious. Adding mozzarella cheese to the chawanmushi gave it a nice depth of flavor. This is a great place to enjoy a slightly upscale Japanese meal.

I usually eat standing soba or gyudon at Sukiya. My wife told me to eat a proper set meal, so I visited this restaurant for the first time. It was already one-third full at 11:30 on Tuesday, and within 10 minutes, it was completely packed. They have a limited number of lunch sets, so it's likely to sell out before 1 pm. Despite costing 1,100 yen, each dish was carefully made and I was very satisfied. The miso soup, in particular, was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

An elegant restaurant where you can enjoy both traditional Japanese cuisine and creative dishes with sophisticated flavors. The daily lunch special is satisfying and popular, with a lineup that often has people lining up. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of Japanese sake, making it a popular spot for dinner as well. The menu changes with the seasons, allowing you to savor dishes that reflect the time of year.

Using carefully selected seasonal ingredients, the dishes made with those ingredients are all full of authentic flavors. The 1,100 yen daily lunch special, which focuses on a single dish, once again surprised and satisfied with its high quality. ★Tuna sashimi bowl with seaweed and aromatic vegetables: The marinated tuna, rich in freshness, plenty of seaweed and aromatic vegetables, and rice covered in grated yam. A highly refined tuna bowl that impressed greatly! ★Simmered dish with highland tofu, eggplant, meatballs, and shiitake mushrooms: A traditional Japanese dish where the umami of the broth is deeply infused. ★Corn chawanmushi: A new sensation chawanmushi with a gentle sweetness and smooth texture like corn potage. The addition of cauliflower is also delightful. ★Pickles: Cucumber and radish pickles. ★Miso soup: Also delicately crafted, with fried tofu, enoki mushrooms, cabbage, and other ingredients for a satisfying meal.

Even in this situation, a restaurant that has a line during weekday lunchtime is usually a place with great food. During the state of emergency (4th time...), they are only open for weekday lunches. The layout is balanced with counter seats and table seats, and they mainly serve delicious Japanese set meals, attracting more female customers. The atmosphere is relaxed, with many people chatting, and the food takes around 10 minutes to be served, so it's recommended to go with some extra time. For lunch, they offer a daily Japanese set meal, so you don't need to order anything after entering. The price is 1,100 yen including tax, and the meal includes grilled mackerel with a flavorful miso sauce, fresh sashimi, creamy tofu, corn and edamame rice, pickles, and miso soup with deep flavors. Each dish is carefully prepared and delicious!

On weekdays, there is always a line of nearby office workers. The main seating is at the counter with only about three tables. There is only one lunch menu that changes daily. Today's dish was grilled mackerel with a delicious flavor. The fish, sashimi, side dishes, and rice were all satisfying. The content changes drastically depending on the day of the week, so I must go back again! Payment is cash only.

It was around 11:30 when I arrived, but I had no trouble getting in. Before COVID, there would often be long lines at this time and I couldn't get in. The impact of remote work is evident. Lunch consisted of one dish. The bonito sashimi had a firm texture and a rich umami flavor, likely due to being aged. You can taste the effort of the chef in this dish. The sesame and spicy mustard soy sauce enhances the flavor of the sashimi. The simmered highland tofu was also delicious, with a rich broth. The meatballs were juicy, and the eggplant was flavorful. The miso soup had a nice roasted aroma. The rice mixed with seaweed and clams was a delightful combination of the lightness of seaweed and the savory flavor of clams. And all of this for only 1100 yen. This must be a restaurant with delicious food in the evenings as well.

It's been a while since my visit. I went for lunch around 11:45 am by myself. There were only about 3 people in the restaurant. It seems like everyone is still working remotely, as there was no line like usual. The cost performance here is great! The taste is excellent and the portion size is quite generous. It cost 1,100 yen (it used to be 1,000 yen, but they raised the price during the consumption tax increase). It was delicious today as well. Looking back at past posts, I noticed that the menu is almost the same. The only difference is whether bonito is included with the tuna or not. I'll check the menu next time I pass by. I enjoyed my meal.

- Location: It was about a 7-minute walk from JR Kanda Station (even if you don't get lost, it doesn't feel like you can get there in 5 minutes). - Atmosphere & Seating: It is located abruptly on a corner of an office district that is not very popular. The location is not very good, but it is well-suited for a hidden gem type of restaurant. The seating consists of a counter and tables, totaling around 20 seats. It is clean but not very spacious. It is not suitable for banquets as it may disturb other customers. - Menu: I opted for the course menu at night. It comes with a complimentary dish. - Taste: Each dish is small in size but very elegant and delicious. I was very satisfied, especially with the soup and grilled dishes (the rice was a bit soft, I personally prefer it a bit firmer). The sake selection seemed to be good based on my companion's enjoyment. - Price: The course menu plus one dish was 4,800 yen (excluding tax). I think it's delicious and reasonably priced. - Service: The chef seemed to be the son, and the server was the mother. They were kind and provided service in a polite and pleasant manner. - Overall Rating: I was very satisfied with the delicious and elegant food at this restaurant. I would like to try other dishes as well.

It's been a while since my last visit. Lately, there's always a long line and it's hard to get in. This place has a daily special, so you don't have to think too much about what to order. Today, I had the tuna and seaweed rice bowl. It was incredibly delicious. The tuna was already seasoned perfectly, and the combination of seaweed flavor, creamy grated yam, and well-balanced soy sauce with the tuna was amazing! The simmered dish and steamed egg custard were also delicately seasoned. The miso soup had a crispy fried topping that added a nice aroma, and the first bite left a strong impression. I highly recommend the lunch here!

Located on the 1st floor of a 9-story apartment building called Casa Uchi Kanda, this unassuming restaurant almost goes unnoticed with its simple exterior. Inside, the clean and neat space features a counter with 8 seats, 2 tables for 4, and even a private room in the back. According to the restaurant's website, the chef and head chef, who trained at Nada Man, provide flavorful dishes. While dinner seems to be the main focus, they offer a limited quantity of daily Japanese set meals starting at 11 am. Due to the consumption tax increase, the daily Japanese set meal now costs 1,100 yen. I've passed by a few times around 12:30 pm and was intrigued by the lunch service, so I finally had the chance to visit during lunch hours. On a weekday at 11 am, the restaurant gradually filled up with customers, mostly women at the counter seats. Upon being seated, complimentary water and a wet towel were provided. With only one lunch option available, I eagerly awaited my meal. The main dish that day was simmered mackerel with miso, served with tofu and carrots. The mackerel was juicy and flavorful, with the miso adding a nice touch. The rice cooked with seaweed and white sesame seeds was also delicious. The set meal included a sashimi platter, eggplant and greens in broth, and pickles. It was a refined and elegant Japanese set meal. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I would highly recommend this place. They also offer a variety of sake and shochu, making it a great spot for a date night. After all, the quality of the ingredients and the skill and experience of the chef are what truly make a dish. (by Natsuki Onohana)

I revisited the favorite traditional Japanese restaurant Utena in Nihonbashi with a beautiful woman. This time, we sat at the counter and chatted with the chef while enjoying our meal. We started with the set course priced at 4,800 yen (excluding tax). Despite the affordable price, the dishes were delicious thanks to the high-quality dashi and skilled cooking techniques. The seasonal appetizer consisted of seven dishes, making it hard to decide where to start. The truffle-scented okara dish was particularly tasty. The soup was a clear broth with yuba and a small piece of melon. The sashimi included mackerel, hatahata, and yellowtail. The foie gras chawanmushi was a classic. The simmered dish featured kikka kabu with a sauce made of kikka shimeji and ginnan. The fig dish with miso sauce was surprisingly dessert-like. The meal ended with a clay pot rice dish with grated burdock and komatsuna. We were already full, but couldn't resist the white miso tiramisu dessert. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

There is a small traditional Japanese restaurant in a back alley in Nishi-Kanda that always has a long line, even though it doesn't have a sign. The secret to its popularity is the daily special set menu, which offers a variety of dishes in small portions along with a main dish for just 1000 yen. This is especially popular among women. A group of female coworkers wanted to try it, so they hurried to the restaurant, but by the time they arrived, the first round of customers was already seated, so they had to wait for the second round. While waiting, one of them mentioned how difficult it was to choose from the many options on the menu, and was surprised to learn that it was all included in the daily special set menu. The main dish for that day was Hiramasa Chazuke, which is raw Hiramasa fish marinated in sesame sauce and served with dashi broth. The assorted dishes included truffle simmered in butterbur sprout, stir-fried wood ear mushrooms and root vegetables, white asparagus tofu, duck breast, cheese castella, and taro powder with bonito flakes. Everyone was impressed by the delicious and beautifully presented dishes. However, everything was sold out by noon, so it is recommended to arrive early.

Today, I had an early lunch and struggled to find the restaurant I wanted to go to. Eventually, I made it inside and found that there was only one seat left at the counter. I ordered the Katsuo donburi with flavored vegetables, simmered mountain vegetables, highland tofu, meatballs, eggplant, shiitake mushrooms, and corn chawanmushi. The pickles and miso soup were also included. The Katsuo was marinated and topped with grated yam, giving it a refreshing texture and delicious flavor. The simmered vegetables were well seasoned and tasty. The corn chawanmushi was surprisingly sweet from the corn. The miso soup had a crispy fried topping that added a nice smoky flavor. Considering the intricate preparation and quality, the price of 1000 yen was quite reasonable.
