アヤ婆ぁ
Kyoto Cuisine Yutaka
I usually eat ramen, so sometimes I crave something like shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine). I had the opportunity to travel to Kyoto, so I visited this restaurant near the Golden Pavilion. The restaurant, located on the first floor of a house, had a cozy atmosphere and was very comfortable. (Please take off your shoes before entering)
Seasonal Bento Box (Lunch 2,100 yen)
"The chef, who trained at a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant, possibly Ise-cho), carefully selects seasonal ingredients and prepares dishes with great care and love," as mentioned, the dishes exuded a high-class feel, more like authentic Kyoto cuisine than Kyoto-style home cooking. The two-tiered "Seasonal Bento Box" includes sashimi on the bottom tier and over 10 seasonal dishes on the top tier. Sliding it sideways (like a sliding door) reveals the dishes.
- Steamed Sea Bream from Shinshu: Sea bream fish paste rolled with soba, egg, and seaweed in a dashi broth.
- Hexagonal Bento Box: <Bottom Tier> Sashimi (amberjack, sweet shrimp, squid); <Top Tier> Seasonal dishes that may vary. Pumpkin, red konjac, yuba, scallop with egg vinegar, rolled omelette, vegetarian fried wheat gluten, sea bream pressed sushi, shiitake mushroom, bamboo leaf roll, shrimp, etc.
- Rice, red miso soup, pickles
- Coffee after the meal
The dishes had a light and refreshing flavor, highlighting the natural taste of the ingredients, and were very delicious. *I walked in without a reservation, but it's better to make one in advance for peace of mind.
