"Tomiya" in Miyazu Good evening. Tonight, as the winter footsteps draw near, I will introduce a long-established store in the northern part of Kyoto, Miyazu! The Miyazu Ine area is often visited by people as a short trip from Kansai. There are many touristy places with high prices, but Tomiya is a local favorite with excellent cost performance. The location is excellent, right in front of JR Miyazu Station (parking available). You can enjoy a set meal for lunch or start drinking early, making it convenient for tourists. The lunch set meals (sashimi set meal recommended) are top-notch in terms of volume and quality. On this day, I visited around 3 pm, so of course I used it as an izakaya! I started with a large bottle (480 yen) and then moved on to a highball (310 yen). Day drinking is the best, so tasty! The cost performance is really good! Now, onto the food. There is a great variety of sashimi, meat dishes, rice dishes, and side dishes, all of which are top-notch. In addition, the daily fish specials written on the whiteboard can be prepared in various ways according to your preference, such as simmered, grilled, fried, or raw. Some of the orders include: - Assorted sashimi (950 yen) - Tempura assortment (850 yen) - Grilled hormone (350 yen) - Simmered fish head (350 yen) - Grilled young chicken (350 yen) As you can see from the photos, the prices are surprisingly low... yet the quality is outstanding. The sashimi was fresh, and the side dishes were perfect for drinking. We couldn't stop drinking! Especially recommended were the large shrimp tempura and simmered fish head! The tempura was incredibly plump and juicy. The simmered fish head was tender with a rich broth flavor. Just with these dishes and rice, I was more than satisfied! Everything was excellent without a doubt. The nostalgic atmosphere inside the restaurant was also good, and it was a relaxing experience in many ways. When you visit the nearby area including Toyooka, it is definitely worth a visit, so please check it out! It's a must-visit place, so be sure to stop by and try it out!
