Chicken tempura set meal with a refreshing taste for 1,000 yen. I arrived on a weekday at 4:00 pm and there were no other customers. I was seated right away. I had bookmarked this place before. An elderly couple runs the place energetically! It was my first time here, but I already knew I wanted to order the chicken tempura. The food was served in 5 to 6 minutes. The meal came on a tray with rice, miso soup, pickles, a plate of chicken tempura, a generous salad, and pasta. I started with the chicken tempura. The crispy batter and juicy tender chicken breast were delicious with the sweet vinegar sauce. I couldn't resist having another piece! The salad was plentiful with a sesame dressing. After eating all those vegetables, I felt like this set meal was zero calories. The pickles were a nice palate cleanser, but I was a bit disappointed by the miso soup, which I think was instant or commercial-grade because it had round pieces of dried wheat gluten. The sweet vinegar sauce on the chicken was indescribably delicious! Despite feeling full after eating, the meal was indeed refreshing. It's the skill of a long-established restaurant! There was a sign saying the last order was at 5:40 pm, so they mainly operate from late morning to early evening. For those who want to avoid lines and enjoy a meal, I recommend visiting after 2:00 pm. I found a delicious set meal restaurant without having to wait in line! Thank you for the meal! I will definitely come back!

There is a dedicated parking lot diagonally in front of the shop. It can fit four cars, but the parking spaces are quite tight, so people with large cars or those who are not very confident in their driving may be better off using a nearby coin parking. I had the katsudon. It was a katsudon with plenty of broth. The flavor of the broth seeped into the katsu, egg, and green onions, making it delicious. No chopsticks needed. The katsu was thick and easy to cut with the spoon provided. If you want another dish, there are self-service side dishes near the entrance. I will definitely come back. Next time, I want to try the jumbo chicken katsu set meal. Thank you for the meal!

I watched the Kotatsu Han YouTube show and visited the restaurant for the first time! The couple running the place are really kind and lovely, and I had a very enjoyable and delicious meal. The crispy fried chicken set meal was really delicious, and the dashimaki tamago had a great taste ❤️❤️ I will definitely go again next time.

I found this restaurant on YouTube and decided to visit because it was close to my home. I went on a weekday and noticed that many people were there on their lunch breaks. I ordered the crispy fried chicken that I had been wanting to try. It came with plenty of vegetables, which was nice. The dressing was a bit too strong for me, so I would have preferred a little less. The crispy fried chicken had a nice vinegar flavor and the crunchy coating went well with the rice. The portion size was generous and very filling, but I managed to finish it all. It was delicious.

Despite the lack of popularity on the street, when I entered the shop, there was only one seat left at the counter and the workers were busy. I ordered the crispy fried chicken set meal for 1,000 yen, which seemed a bit expensive considering the location, but it was worth it! The fried chicken was crispy in the morning, and the salad was generously portioned. The rice was also delicious! It may be a bit inconvenient to get to, but if you're in Nishioji, be sure to try it out! Thank you for the meal ♫

For lunch, I went to "Terakoya" for the first time in a while. Today, I had the "Jumbo Chicken Cutlet Set Meal". I usually always have their popular menu, the crispy fried chicken set meal, so this was my first time trying the chicken cutlet. Wow! It was definitely a jumbo chicken cutlet. The batter was thin and crispy, with a crunchy texture. The domestic chicken thigh meat was tender and delicious. The salad had plenty of vegetables, and the miso soup had a good dashi flavor and was tasty. The retro atmosphere of the Showa era inside the restaurant was nice too. I hope this cozy old-fashioned diner never goes away. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the cafeteria "Terakoya" on Nishioji Street in Kyoto for lunch after a long time. The popular dish is the crispy fried chicken set meal for 1000 yen. The ample salad and crispy fried chicken thigh with a refreshing sweet and sour sauce are delicious. Today, there were fewer customers than usual, and there were two empty parking spaces in the parking lot that can accommodate four cars.

Today's lunch was at "Terakoya" in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto. It is a dining and deli shop located west of the Yatagarasu intersection. The atmosphere of the Showa era can be felt in this traditional-style dining room. There is a parking lot in the triangular building where Omae Street intersects with JR. Inside, there are tables lined up facing a television. You can choose between hot or cold tea, and the oshibori towels are self-service. They offer a variety of rice bowls, set meals, and noodles, with options like unusual Katsu Curry Udon. The menu on the wall shows a wide variety of combinations. I couldn't resist ordering the "Oyster Fry Set Meal (with miso soup change)" for 1130 yen. Regular customers often order the refreshing Chicken Fry Set Meal or Katsu Don with small udon. There is a large refrigerated case at the entrance where you can also buy side dishes. In addition to take-out, you can also add a small dish inside the shop. The regulars, including a medalist, seem to be well taken care of. A splendid set meal is brought to you, with a hot miso soup in a large bowl that is quite voluminous. Just this alone can fill you up. The main dish plate consists of about 2/3 vegetables and a spaghetti salad. There are five medium-sized oyster fries included, served with tartar and Worcestershire sauce for you to enjoy both flavors. I was able to savor the history of this traditional dining room.

We ordered the popular No.1 Chicken Lightly Fried Set and my wife had the Nabe Yaki Udon. The fried chicken was hiding sweet vinegar underneath, and the combination of chicken and sweet vinegar was excellent. The Nabe Yaki Udon had sweet simmered shiitake mushrooms and grated yam, which tasted delicious. There are many other menu options such as rice bowls, so you might have a hard time deciding. There are counter seats and table seats available. Next to the register, there are homemade side dishes that we took out for dinner. The parking lot is located diagonally across from the store and can accommodate 3 cars. This is a recommended restaurant that I would like to visit again.

I visited a popular restaurant called "Terakoya" in JR Nishi-Oji, known for their "Chicken Crispy Fried Set Meal." The majority of customers were ordering this dish, so I decided to try it as well. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, very delicious. However, at 1000 yen, the cost performance is not great. #Kyoto #NishiOji #NishiOjiGourmet #Terakoya #SetMealRestaurant #Lunch #ChickenCrispyFriedSetMeal #CostPerformanceIssue #PopularShop

The restaurant, which is also open on Sundays, was visited for the first time with the aim of trying their most popular dish, the "Chicken Crispy Fry Set Meal." Many customers on this day also ordered the same dish. It was truly a refreshing and delicious meal that goes well with rice, even in this hot summer. The friendly attitude of saying "thank you" brightly to regular customers and first-time visitors alike makes it a pleasant place to visit again. Thank you for the satisfying meal.

In August, we have plans to do a meaty-themed monthly project again, but before that, we will have a "Chicken Showdown" as a bridge. This will feature chicken dishes other than the usual fried chicken lunch. The fifth entry in the 2022 Chicken Showdown Part 2 is "Terakoya" in Nishioji, Kyoto. I ordered the Chicken Sappari Fry Set for 900 yen.

I visited around 13:30 on April 2nd (Saturday) between Nishioji Oike Station and Ume-Koji Kyoto Nishi Station. It's not an area I often visit, so I probably wouldn't have known about it if it hadn't been introduced on social media. The chicken thigh is deep-fried whole and then cut, combined with special sauce and sesame dressing on the salad, it was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Today, I had lunch at a diner near JR Nishi-Oji station. It seems like they serve udon, donburi, and side dishes. The interior of the restaurant has a retro diner atmosphere and was bustling with locals. Udon and soba dishes are around 500 yen, offering a budget-friendly meal. They also have set meals for under 1000 yen. I ordered their popular set meal: Chicken Karaage Set. It came with large pieces of crispy fried chicken, miso soup, rice, and pickles. The chicken was crispy and juicy, with a light and refreshing taste from the sweet vinegar sauce. The meal had a generous portion, with plenty of rice and salad. Overall, I found it to be a satisfying and cost-effective meal option.

At Terakoya, a restaurant in Hachijo Gozen, they serve udon, donburi, fried dishes, and side dishes. Their specialty is the refreshing fried chicken set meal. Despite looking heavy, the crispy and juicy chicken is delicious, and you can eat as much rice as you want. The menu is quite extensive, so it may be difficult to decide. I went on a Saturday when they opened, and it quickly became full. The husband and wife run the restaurant, with the mother in the kitchen and the father in the dining area. The mother's efficiency is remarkable. It's a bit of a walk from Umekoji, but if you're near the park, it's definitely worth a visit.

Located near the intersection of Hachijo Street and Gozen Street in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, within walking distance of Umekoji Park and Kyoto Aquarium. The exterior is simple with a traditional Japanese charm, while the interior has a cozy and homely atmosphere. The menu mainly consists of noodles and set meals, with a wide variety of side dishes available. The Jumbo Chicken Cutlet Set Meal features a chicken thigh cutlet served with rice, miso soup, and pickles for a total of 950 yen including tax. The cutlet is made with domestically sourced chicken thigh meat and topped with both sauce and tartar sauce. It is large, juicy, and well-seasoned, with a crispy and flavorful coating that complements the tender chicken meat. The set meal also includes potato salad, vegetable salad, and a mild miso soup. In addition to dining in, customers can also purchase pre-packaged side dishes to take home. Despite its affordable prices, the restaurant offers generous portions and has been a beloved establishment in the community for many years.

Visited on September 2, 2020. Today, I traveled from Nagoya to Kyoto on a business trip by Shinkansen. I rented a car at Kyoto Station, passed Toji Temple, headed towards Nishi-Oji Station, and visited a Teishokuya (Japanese-style diner). There was an empty parking spot at the end of the covered parking lot, so I parked my car there and sat at a table for two inside. I was excited by the wide variety of options on the menu, including take-out dishes and items to eat on the spot. I ordered the popular crispy fried chicken. The menu mentioned that the miso soup was simmered with kombu and bonito dashi, which raised my expectations. After about 5 minutes, a generous portion of crispy fried chicken arrived. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, making it delicious to eat with rice. Next, I tried the miso soup. The high-quality bonito and kombu dashi gave it a delicious flavor. I look forward to trying the udon next time. It was a satisfying meal with a deliciously sweet rice. I look forward to trying the udon next time.

I am staying in Kyoto for 3 nights and 4 days starting today. Due to the impact of the new coronavirus, the hotel prices were unbelievably cheap. There were also very few people around. Kyoto after Golden Week was empty. For lunch, I went to a local favorite restaurant called Terakoya in Nishioji. Surprisingly, they had a free parking lot. I ordered the crispy fried chicken set meal and katsudon. While waiting for the food, I read a book that introduced this restaurant. There are so many eateries in Kyoto. The crispy fried chicken and katsudon that came out were really good. It's no wonder this place is popular with the locals.

Today, I had chanpon at the local restaurant again! It has a gentle flavor, so I like to add some ramen pepper to adjust the taste while eating. Although it doesn't have seafood, it has plenty of pork in it! The amount of vegetables is a bit on the lower side for chanpon, but it has wakame seaweed and lots of sesame seeds, making it quite a healthy choice. The mild soup warms you up and is easy to drink till the last drop. I will definitely order it again when I go back! Also, my husband ordered the jumbo chicken katsu today, and it was surprisingly huge! It was crispy and came with sauce and tartar sauce. It's great for those with a big appetite, but I prefer dishes with a broth base. I'm curious about trying dishes like oyakodon or katsudon next time! ♡♡♪

Honestly!! When I see a popular dish like Tori no Sappari on Tabelog, I tend to order that, but my husband used to come here alone and always said the udon is delicious, so I decided to try that instead. And then I saw they had Champon, so I ended up ordering that. I love Champon but didn't know there was a good place around here, haha. As you can see, the presentation isn't great, with wakame and sesame sprinkled on top, not very exciting, right? But the taste is really good. The soup is that gentle, cloudy type. They provide ramen pepper so you can adjust the flavor as you eat. It didn't have much seafood or vegetables, but it was really delicious (sorry for my limited vocabulary). I'll definitely come back here and order this again. It's such a cozy place.

It's been a while since I had a delicious Katsudon in Kansai Kyoto! It was a nice day with only me as a customer around 2 pm on Thursday. A couple was leisurely enjoying their meal while watching TV. Before entering the Katsudon restaurant, I decided to order the dish because it was at the top of the menu photos. The restaurant was filled with railway photos. I wonder if they are train enthusiasts. I also like taking photos, so I might strike up a conversation. The owner seemed very happy when I complimented the delicious food, making it a great place. I'll definitely come back again.
