Chicken and egg rice bowl with cold soba set. The soba is decently good. The problem lies in the chicken and egg rice bowl. They use chicken breast which is tough and dry. If they can't handle the meat well, they should use thigh meat instead of breast. Also, when ordering a set, balancing the sauce for the soba and the rice bowl is crucial, but surprisingly difficult. Depending on which dish you eat first, the taste of the second dish can be affected. That's why I think rice bowls at soba restaurants are usually made quite sweet, but it doesn't seem like they consider that here. The dried radish strips are also not good.

In 2023, I visited a restaurant that I had only been to once in the distant past. My previous experience was not great, but it's been a while so I decided to give it another try. The restaurant was crowded during lunchtime, just like last time. I managed to get a seat quickly, but it still felt cramped and rushed. I ordered the vinegar citrus soba, perfect for a refreshing meal in the summer. The dish arrived quickly, and I was relieved. The soba had a refreshing taste and a pleasant texture. I wished the dipping sauce had a stronger citrus flavor, but overall it was delicious. The citrus acidity and aroma enhanced my appetite as I savored each bite. Before I knew it, I had finished the meal and felt satisfied. I decided to take it easy for the rest of the day.

Evening set for 1180 yen includes dried daikon radish, komatsuna greens, soba tofu, and draft beer. It's a reasonably priced set that is perfect for waiting for appointments. You can enjoy soba tofu typical of a soba restaurant and Kyoto-style evening dishes. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. 5.8

When I went to Kyoto Station and walked down Miyakomichi, I saw many tourists with large suitcases. I found a seat and ordered the Tempura Soba (1580 yen), which had plenty of shrimp, green peppers, and pumpkin. It was delicious and I finished it quickly. They didn't offer soba broth, but they might bring it if you ask. This is a popular soba restaurant with a wide variety of menu options.

On the way back from the last day of GW, we stopped at Kyoto Station for dinner. We had a set meal called "Iwasa Soba and Beer Chilled Set" which came with soba noodles, tofu, and a little bit of chocolate. We also had soba shochu and soba hot water mixed drink. The soba hot water was a bit weak, but overall it was decent. My parents had the zaru soba set and the tempura soba set, which were just regular soba noodles. There were a lot of foreign tourists and people with large suitcases at Kyoto Station.

I tried to have a quick lunch near Kyoto Station, but the restaurants I wanted to go to were crowded with tourists, so I had to give up. I decided to eat inside the station instead since I was short on time. I ended up choosing the Kyogoku Negi Soba. Although I was tempted by the minced curry, I didn't want to risk getting curry on my white shirt. The broth was delicious and when eaten with the soba and negi, it was satisfying enough. However, the amount of negi toppings was not as generous as I had hoped for. Overall, it was a decent meal considering the location.

I wanted to have a bowl of soba at the famous shop Soba Mae in the Kyoto Station (Kintetsu) Meiten-gai, but I was in a no-alcohol period. So, I had a Kirin Zero One (non-alcoholic beer) with some snacks and a meal of spicy konjac, soba noodles with tofu, tempura with Kyoto Negi (green onion). Overall, the flavors were light and had a dashi taste. Thank you for the meal.

It seems like tourists have returned to Kyoto in full force. Everywhere was crowded during the weekend evening around 6 o'clock. There were long lines at some places too. As a result, there was quite a wait after placing our order. The Kujyo Negi Udon for 1,000 yen and a medium-sized draft beer for 690 yen (Kirin Ichiban) took over 15 minutes to be served. The udon was surprisingly small in size and the amount of green onions was lacking for a dish with "Kujyo Negi" in its name. However, it was good to see that the udon had a nice chewiness, which was unexpected for a place that seems to specialize in soba. The chopped green onions had a natural flavor, almost making me think that this was the main focus. The beer was fresh and tasty, and there were other menu items I would like to try, so I think I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This is a soba restaurant located in Kintetsu Miyakomichi near Kyoto Station. Despite thinking it would be a quick meal, the restaurant was almost full due to its convenient location closest to the station. While it took a bit of time to be served after ordering, the kakiage rice and soba were delicious. However, I wish the chicken pieces were a bit larger.

I had some errands at Kyoto Station and chose to have some quick soba noodles. I live in Kyoto and I love fresh fu, so I couldn't resist ordering it. The restaurant I went to, Kamonamban, seemed quite busy. It felt like a quick meal before catching the Shinkansen! I also like to enjoy my time until the very end when I travel, so I understand the feeling. The menu is extensive and the portions are generous. The taste is just average, so I probably won't go back again.

The duck was amazing. It was not dry, had a good bounce to it, and even felt a bit chewy. I went on a three-day weekend holiday, arrived at the restaurant at 11 am, and was the third person in line. Within 15 minutes of opening, the place was fully packed. It was incredibly delicious. The dashimaki tamago was similar to the usual kind. The soba was incredibly tasty.

After the golf competition, I want to finish with some soba noodles!! So, I visited Aoi Soba in Kyoto Station with the members♪♪♪ When in Kyoto, you have to go for the tanuki soba, so we split into tanuki soba and regular soba camps for our orders (lol). The slightly thick broth was so gentle and delicious! (⌒▽⌒)

I visited this restaurant for dinner in May 2022. The location is in the Kintetsu Department Store near Kyoto Station. They offer creative dishes using soba noodles, as well as a selection of Kyoto sake. I ordered the Kyoto-style sashimi plate for 850 yen, Kyoto vegetable tofu roll for 800 yen, grilled eggplant for 430 yen, and soba tempura for 680 yen. There are many varieties of soba noodles available as well. The Kyoto vegetable tofu roll, available for order after 3pm, was particularly delicious. It featured shredded daikon radish and pickled vegetables, showing great attention to detail. The soba tempura was also a unique and tasty dish that is only available as part of the soba course menu. The grilled eggplant was refreshing and tasty. All dishes paired well with the sake. I look forward to trying their soba dishes next time. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I visited Sobadokoro Aoi for the first time. The time from ordering to the food being served was very short, and the cost performance was also very high, so I recommend this restaurant to those who want to eat soba near Kyoto Station. The yuba on top was also very large and delicious.

I usually have bread for lunch, but on this day in snowy and cold Kyoto, I wanted to eat warm soba. I went to this place in a station building. It's not a particularly calm place, but the staff were very efficient and friendly, making for a pleasant lunch. I had the oyakodon set for 1180 yen, which came with a small bowl of rice and soba. It also included simmered dried daikon radish and pickles. The scent of the soba broth was nice. The oyakodon had a good portion size and was quite filling. However, it was a bit too spicy and salty for me. I've been eating a lot of low-salt foods recently, so I may have been particularly sensitive. Perhaps the stronger flavor is better for donburi dishes like this. The soba was simple, with just kamaboko on top. Its simplicity allowed the flavor of the broth to come through, making it warm and delicious. There were many people ordering beer or alcohol in the middle of the day, perhaps because they were on a trip, but the seating arrangement was such that I didn't really notice the other tables, allowing me to focus on my meal.

I visited the restaurant "Soba-dokoro Aoi" located in the Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi directly connected to Kyoto Station in the evening of late December. The restaurant has a total of 63 seats, including counter seats and table seats, and I was seated at the counter. I ordered the "Kujo Negi Soba" (970 yen) from the menu on the table. After a short wait, the soba was served. The aroma of Kujo negi was noticeable even with my mask on. I quickly sprinkled some sansho pepper on top and started eating. The soba was smooth and easy to eat, and the hot broth was delicious. The spiciness of the grated daikon was also tasty, but the standout was definitely the Kujo negi. Its presence was strong and added a lot of flavor. I finished every last drop of the broth and enjoyed my meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I had a little bit at a soba restaurant near Kyoto Station. I had a slightly tipsy set meal and enjoyed the yuba sashimi set. The Kyoto cuisine was elegant and delicately flavored, and I quickly finished it before moving on to shochu on the rocks. The Miyazaki soba made from 100% buckwheat was very delicious. In the end, I also enjoyed the Kyoto vegetable yuba roll. It was a light and enjoyable experience unique to Kyoto.

On October 31, 2021 (Sunday), I visited Kyoto Tower in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. I met up with my second son, who lives in Kyoto, near JR Kyoto Station. We decided to have lunch as it was almost noon. Upon my son's request for soba, we found a soba restaurant called "Aoi" in the Kintetsu Meiten-gai Miyakomichi shopping street. We entered the restaurant, sat at a table, and ordered the "Tenzaru" set for 1400 yen each. The meal included cold soba noodles, soba dipping sauce, wasabi, chopped green onions, and tempura. The soba noodles had a nice texture and were delicious when dipped in the sauce. The freshly fried tempura, including pumpkin, okra, and shrimp, was also very tasty. We enjoyed our meal and finished everything.

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy soba made with Hokkaido buckwheat flour. The soba is not hand-made, and the broth is not exceptionally delicious, but you can get decent soba at a reasonable price near the station. If you were to compare it to a benchmark, I would say it's on par with Sojibo. Compared to Sojibo, the prices are slightly higher, but the soba here is better in my opinion. As for the oyakodon, unless they use special chicken, there isn't a big difference, so it's just average. Overall, the flavors here tend to be a bit strong, which may be a matter of personal preference.
