To entertain guests from Kanto, we searched for an izakaya near Kyoto Station and ended up at New Ebisuno. The storefront and entrance are covered with thick vinyl sheets, giving it a cool vibe. Inside, the kitchen island is surrounded by customer seating. Since we had made a reservation, we were guided to the "private room" in the back of the restaurant. The room had two tables for 2 people and two tables for 4 people. The interior is stylish. After ordering drinks, we tried the famous half-sized potato salad, sashimi, saury sashimi, french fries, oyster fry, chicken skin, thick fried tofu, minced tuna with green onions, simmered beef tendon, chicken ramen, and rice with raw egg. The famous potato salad had sauce on it, and while it looked ordinary, it was delicious. The sashimi was tasty, and the thick fried tofu was also good. The combination of ginger, grated radish, and green onions was nice. The simmered beef tendon, being homemade, went well with the sake. Overall, every dish we ordered was great. The staff here are very attentive and friendly, making it clear why this izakaya is popular among customers. I would love to try different dishes here next time.
