New Fukusai Restaurant opened in my neighborhood, so I decided to visit. It used to be near Daigo Station, but the food was not good... I would only go when there wasn't a long line at the main branch near Kyoto Station. Now it's within walking distance. I ordered the chukasoba with extra meat, and it was delicious. However, there was too much meat, so next time I'll skip the extra meat option. Also, I wish they would extend their closing time beyond 8:30 pm...

The road from Rokujizo to Yamashina is known as Ramen Street, with many ramen shops such as Tenkaippin, Tonkotsu Yarou, Konshinya, Oushou, Yokozuna, Shinfukunakan, Usagiya, Jugoya, Iwasakitamen, and Kairikiya. A new Shinfukunakan opened on April 1st in this competitive area. I found out about it through online news and decided to visit since I was working nearby. The staff consisted of 7 people, and they had a unique system of preparing the noodles by first portioning them according to the order size and then boiling them all together in small pots. The soup here is very dark but not too strong in flavor, unlike other shops that have rich soup. I ordered the regular size and felt that there was a lot of simmered pork. In the past, the main shop used to have terms like "firm noodles" or "extra green onions" flying around, but they would skillfully cook and serve the noodles in a large pot. It was a masterful technique. The former chef from that time is now the manager of the Kyumiyama branch. I enjoyed the meal. As I was leaving the restaurant, I stumbled over a car stop that was only about 1m away. Please remove it. Am I the only one who fell over? (T.T)

お肉LOVE

When I visited the restaurant, it was crowded at first, so I waited for it to calm down before going in. The ramen had a rich soup and thick noodles, and the generous amount of pork char siu was a meat lover's dream. The satisfying taste really hit the spot. The fried rice had a strong flavor typical of Shinpukusai-kan, with a bold and satisfying taste. I ordered the fried chicken set (1200 yen), which came with a regular-sized ramen, plenty of white rice, and a choice of large or medium fried chicken. The flavors were rich, making the rice go down easily. I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the delicious meal! ♡

The flavors are all strong. It's not that it's not delicious, and there were quite a few customers in the restaurant. I ordered the small ramen and small fried rice set (was it the C set meal?), but the flavors were so strong that it was enough for me. Overall, it is a bit expensive and the cost performance is not great. It feels like old-fashioned Chinese noodles, going in the opposite direction of the trendy delicate ramen that is common these days. It may be a taste that some people really enjoy. It's quite disappointing that they don't accept electronic money or credit cards in this day and age.

A new Kyoto black ramen shop has opened. The shop is called Shinpukan, and they use the same Kondo Seimen noodles as all the other shops, with a dark soy sauce soup that is visually striking. When you lift the noodles, unlike many other shops where the noodles are dyed the color of the soy sauce soup, here they remain beautifully white. The soup was lighter than what I have had at other Shinpukan locations, but still delicious. Thank you for the meal, it was great. #Gratefulforlife

The restaurant was full right after opening, with customers waiting. I ordered a regular ramen and a children's C set (small ramen and small fried rice). The food was delicious without needing any explanation. Even though it was a small ramen, I think the owner made the soup a bit milder for the child. We had a pleasant and satisfying time.

The shop opened on April 1st and I have visited it a few times at night, but it was closed due to being sold out. So, I decided to visit with my family during the day. We arrived at the shop around 1:30 PM and had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated. I ordered the "Chuka Soba with extra meat" (1,100 yen) and my son ordered the "Yakimeshi (fried rice) large" (800 yen) and "Karaage (fried chicken)" (600 yen). The bowl was filled with plenty of sliced pork and chopped green onions, and the soup had a dark black color typical of Shinpukusaikan. When I tasted the soup, it had a light pork flavor with a balanced saltiness and acidity, making it refreshing. The noodles were medium-thick and slightly soft, with a chewy texture that paired well with the soup. The sliced pork chashu was plentiful and a mix of lean and fatty cuts, which complemented the soup nicely. I also tried a bit of the "yakimeshi," which had a rich soy sauce flavor and a delicious aroma. Although Shinpukusaikan has many branches, this particular shop had a slightly lighter impression compared to others.
