I stopped by for lunch when I visited Amanohashidate on a trip. When I arrived after 11:30, the parking lot was somewhat empty and I found a seat inside right away. However, as it approached 12 o'clock, the place quickly filled up and there were many people looking for seats. This time, I ordered a seafood bowl and a fried chicken set. The seafood bowl allowed me to enjoy various types of fish. I poured soy sauce mixed with egg yolk over it. The fresh fish was very delicious. The fried chicken was ordered because my son wanted it, but the portion was large and he couldn't finish it, so my husband ended up eating the rest. It was a satisfying meal with a generous portion.

I ordered a seafood bowl. I mixed the egg yolk with soy sauce and poured it over the bowl to eat. The pieces of seafood were small but delicious. Thank you for the meal. However, I felt like the portion was a bit small. It makes me want to try other dishes too. Next time, I want to try the premium bowl.

On the second day of our crab trip, we had lunch at a new restaurant where you can eat a variety of dishes. I had the clam ramen as a finishing touch! It had a lot of clams and was really cost-effective! The broth had a nice clam flavor and the noodles were delicious too. My son had curry yakisoba. It was really unique! It was like yakisoba with curry sauce poured over it? It was light and the seafood flavor was also delicious. Thank you for the meal ♡

After visiting Hachi Kogen, we made a detour to see Amanohashidate on the way back. It was surprising to see so many people there because travel support had just started. We arrived near Amanohashidate Station at 12 o'clock, but the restaurant we wanted to have lunch at already had a long line. Since we didn't have much time, we looked for another restaurant and found one near the fishing port, which raised our expectations. The restaurant had a cafeteria-like atmosphere with more people than expected. When looking at the menu, the staff recommended against the omakase (chef's choice) because it would take a long time, so I opted for the slightly pricey sashimi set instead. My companion was excited for their first visit to Amanohashidate and did some research while waiting. However, after 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 45 minutes passed, we inquired about the delay and were told to wait another 10 minutes. My companion's frustration peaked as we waited for an hour before finally being served. The sashimi set included grilled and simmered fish, all of the same kind, which was fresh and delicious, but the wait was too long. Despite my companion's anger, we ate and left. Since it was getting late and we still had to travel back home after visiting Amanohashidate, my companion decided to give up on exploring further and head back.

On this day, my daughter and I went on a drive to the Japan Sea. We were wandering around near Amanohashidate looking for a place to have lunch (lol). That's when we found "Restaurant Gyoren," a restaurant located in the fishing town of Miyazu within Tomat. It was quite busy as it was lunchtime. I had already decided that I would have a seafood bowl when I came here, so I placed my order. The seafood bowl was ready in about 10 minutes - I went to pick it up. Wow! It looked delicious! *\(^o^)/* I ate it by pouring the egg yolk over it. The fish was indeed fresh and tasty! (It was a bit disappointing that the rice was warm instead of vinegared) Personally, I could do without the egg, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Thank you for the meal! I would like to come back again.

I went for lunch before 2 pm. It was slightly after the peak lunch hour, but there were still customers. I ordered a tuna bowl, a raw whitebait bowl, and a seafood bowl (I forgot to take a picture). It was my first time trying raw whitebait, but I ordered it without hesitation! Everything was delicious! They also had acrylic panels for COVID-19 prevention. It was great to enjoy delicious seafood here while also being safe from infection!

This is a shop located inside Totomart called Gyoren, which specializes in seafood dishes. The parking lot is located in front of Totomart. This time, I tried the recommended menu, Negi Shio Don. Negi Shio Don is a seafood rice bowl topped with fish flakes. It is full of umami flavor, and even without the egg, it tastes delicious. Adding a little soy sauce enhances the flavor. The egg has a mild taste, but personally, I preferred the flakes as they were.

Ordered the pickled rice bowl. It's a common thing in tourist spots, but even though it's a fishing port, there didn't seem to be many seafood dishes made with local ingredients. Salmon, well, I guess if they priced it at several thousand yen per serving, no one would order it, right? Hmm, it's difficult.

At the small commercial facility called "Fisherman Town Toto Mart" located at the fishing port just before returning to Miyazu city from Amanohashidate, there is a self-service food court named "Fisherman's Restaurant". I ordered the most popular dish, the "Seafood Bowl" for 1500 yen. The seafood bowl comes with a raw egg, and you mix the egg yolk with soy sauce and wasabi according to your preference, then pour it little by little as instructed on the table. The toppings include shrimp, octopus, squid, sea bream, yellowtail, salmon, and salmon roe. The rice is warm white rice, not vinegared rice. I accidentally poured too much egg yolk, wasabi, and soy sauce at once, turning it into a "richly flavored seafood and egg rice bowl", but it was still delicious. There are many reasonably priced menu items, and the place was bustling with customers. I enjoyed it very much.

I heard that the restaurant called "Kawasaki" in Amanohashidate is delicious, so I went there right away. However, there was a huge line of 30 people waiting, so I had to give up. Instead, I went to a new and clean building called Toto Mart. It seemed like a food court. I had a pickled seafood bowl, and my friend had a seafood bowl. The seafood bowls were delicious as they were right by the sea. However, since it was a food court, the atmosphere was not the best. The parking lot was free, but it was quite crowded with tourists.

The restaurant is located inside the facility called "Totomart" and it is nice that they open early in the morning. There are other shops in the facility, so it is nice to order from various shops. I wanted to eat the Seko crab bowl and ordered it at this restaurant. The bowl has one Seko crab on top, but the portion feels a bit small. For this price, I thought it would be better with two crabs. The taste of the innards and eggs is delicious, it is a seasonal delight. The question I had about this set meal was how to eat the raw egg? In the end, it became egg over rice. I thought it was good when you want to eat a bowl.

I wonder how many stores are inside? You can eat all kinds of food like soba, sashimi, Western food, and Japanese food! Let's try all the varieties (lol). Assorted fried foods! Seafood bowl! And more (^o^) Freshly made dashimaki with octopus is incredibly delicious! The prices are not that high, and I definitely recommend the lunch menu! I don't think you can go wrong with it~~~ There are various options at the food court, so there's something for everyone.

Miyazu City in Kyoto Prefecture is home to a fishing town called Tomaruto. It is a complex facility where you can experience making seafood products, shop for souvenirs, visit cafes, and enjoy seafood dishes at the food court. With a fishing port right in front, expectations are high. At the restaurant Gyoren, we were disappointed to learn that there were no crabs available today. My companion had the Miyazu set meal for 2000 yen, which included simmered fish, assorted sashimi, mozuku seaweed, a three-item platter, rice, and miso soup. I opted for the Fisherman's set meal for 2000 yen, which came with blowfish tempura, assorted sashimi, okra and yam, a three-item platter, rice, and miso soup. The sashimi was incredibly delicious! Right behind our seats was a shop called KANEMASU 7, where they grilled half-dried fish using a charcoal brazier, and the enticing aroma led us to purchase some. It was so tasty!

Located along the coast on the way from Miyazu City to Amanohashidate, "Totomart" is a bit difficult to find despite the signs along the national highway. Inside the stylish building, there are a seafood restaurant, a fresh fish store, a shop that grills dried fish, and a souvenir shop, with a central square serving as a food court. One of the shops inside is "Restaurant Gyoren," which seems to be operated by the local Gyoren fishermen's association. The menu includes fresh fish dishes such as sashimi set meals and seafood bowls. On my last visit, I ordered a seafood bowl, so this time I decided to try something different. Towards the bottom of the menu, I found the "Local Fish Fry Set Meal" for 880 yen. I ordered it right away. It was ready in less than 10 minutes. The set meal included rice, miso soup, pickles, a small side dish with plenty of vegetables, and a variety of fried fish such as mackerel, horse mackerel, white fish, squid, and octopus. I was surprised by the diverse selection of fish, as I had expected only two or three types. Each bite had a different flavor, making it quite enjoyable. I used the sauce provided, but there was also tartar sauce available next to the ordering counter. It was a delightful meal.

I ordered the seafood bowl (1350 yen) which looked delicious. They also have a relatively affordable daily sashimi set meal (1080 yen) that looks appetizing. I waited at the table with a buzzer, and after about 10 minutes, it rang. The bowl was filled with sweet shrimp, salmon, squid, yellowtail, sea bream, and more. I enjoyed dipping them in the raw egg-infused broth. Everything was fresh and tasty, complementing the rice well. Although, I feel like it would still be good without the raw egg. The smell of fish being grilled from the shop right behind my seat added to the delightful atmosphere. If you're in Miyazu, this place is highly recommended. Thank you for the meal.

In the morning, we played around at the hotel and before heading back to Osaka, we went out for lunch. We were looking for a local, non-touristy place to eat, but without knowing where to go, it's hard to find such places. At least if the name has something to do with fishing, you're likely to find good food. I went to a shop selling fresh fish and bought a set of 5 pieces of sushi and sashimi. The sushi toppings were large and the rice balls were big, giving a sense of eating local cuisine. The mackerel was slightly overcooked, but it was the first time I saw mackerel served in that shape, it was quite impressive. We all enjoyed Kyoto's seafood while snacking on various dishes.

"Located inside 'Miyazu Amanohashidate Gyoshimachi Totmaru,' the restaurant 'Gyoren' offers freshly caught seafood from the local Kyoto fishing port served as sashimi and seafood bowls. Enjoy a generous seafood bowl filled with large sweet shrimp, yellowtail, squid, octopus, sea bream, and more, all at a surprisingly reasonable price!"

I visited for lunch. I ordered a seafood bowl here! The amount of rice was generous, but there was also plenty of seafood, so I was able to eat satisfyingly! It's a casual and enjoyable place, so I recommend it. The price was around 1500 yen.

I decided to visit the local area because I have relatives there. I found a seafood shop with fresh oysters for grilling. When I asked how long it would take to grill them, they said they would be ready by the end of the auction. So, I ordered them and in the meantime, we had lunch at a nearby fisherman's restaurant. I had a seafood bowl and my companion had a chef's choice bowl. The seafood bowl was average, nothing special. But my companion couldn't eat the chef's choice bowl, saying it was not good. I tried a bit and found it too chewy and with a strong fishy taste. It didn't seem worth the price of 500 yen. After finishing our lunch, we went back to the oyster grilling area, but they hadn't started grilling yet. Since we were short on time, we ended up getting a refund. It was disappointing. On the way back, we stopped at a Sushiro restaurant to have a fresh start. Hopefully, they have improved since it was a new establishment.
