At a drinking party with colleagues, when asked where to find delicious fish in Nishi-Ogikubo, I immediately thought of 5-6 places. This time, we chose this place because it's close to the station, can accommodate a large group for a lively atmosphere, and offers hearty appetizers that will satisfy the men. Luckily, we were able to make a reservation at the last minute, perhaps due to the typhoon forecast. It's great to be able to try a variety of dishes when dining with a large group! However, we only ordered the sashimi platter and pork shabu salad at first, and then let the men take over the ordering. As a result, we ended up with a parade of fried foods, which I didn't notice while eating but realized later when looking at photos. Nonetheless, I was happy to try a variety of dishes that I wouldn't normally order, such as the luxurious sashimi platter, ikura fried rice, tempura of corn and octopus, and mehikari fried chicken, all of which were delicious. When I got home, I realized that I had talked and laughed so much that my voice was hoarse.

We had a drinking party with my high school friends. We ordered a course meal, which was plentiful and satisfying for the old men. The conger eel was large and delicious. We also ordered local sake and Hitoriki to reminisce about the old days. We usually take the bus, but due to the heat and the traffic, we walked for an hour to get there. We need to watch our calorie intake.

Located just a 1-minute walk from JR Chuo Line's "Nishi-Ogikubo" station, "Shinpo" is a popular izakaya in Nishi-Ogikubo where you can enjoy fresh seafood at reasonable prices. We ordered the sashimi platter (per person) for 1,750 yen, iwashi fry for 500 yen, komochi konbu for 650 yen, and buri kama yaki for 1,500 yen. We also had Sapporo beer (medium bottle) for 700 yen and Kanbayashi (on the rocks) for 650 yen each. The sashimi platter includes a luxurious selection of 14 items such as chu-toro, akami, biwamasu, botan shrimp, flatfish, scallop, octopus, red snapper, buri, ikura, uni, flounder, seared kinmedai, and itoyoridai. It truly is a treasure trove of the sea! The iwashi fry was recommended, and although the fish was small, the crispy texture with tartar and Worcestershire sauce was enjoyable. The komochi konbu, a must-order for us, had a gentle flavor with fish roe that burst in your mouth. The buri kama yaki, with its perfectly grilled texture and delicious fatty flavor, was worth the slightly higher price of 1,500 yen. Overall, after visiting more than 10 times, we finally left a comment. The restaurant has expanded since relocating, making it easier to get a seat without a reservation. The spacious and lively atmosphere with efficient staff members creates a welcoming environment. With delicious dishes made from fresh seafood at reasonable prices, we believe "Shinpo" will continue to be loved by the locals in Nishi-Ogikubo for a long time.

A friend came from afar (Sapporo) and we visited Shinbo upon their request. We arrived at 16:00 on Saturday. As locals, we ordered specific sashimi including medium fatty tuna, flounder, and sazae. We also had seconds of the Me-hikari fried chicken, thickly sliced grilled kamasu, and the classic crab croquette. The locals were satisfied. I, on the other hand, was already looking at the menu for the next weekend when I will be visiting with my high school classmates. It's a great restaurant.

The seafood dishes were incredibly delicious at this restaurant, and the atmosphere inside was just right - not too noisy, very relaxing! The ikura fried rice surprisingly goes very well together and though it's a bit pricey, it's definitely worth trying!! The sashimi portion was also very generous, so you won't leave feeling hungry at all! It was my first time visiting Nishi-Ogikubo, but it was amazing!

I wonder how many times it has been now ^ ^ I have been going to this fish izakaya restaurant located a 10-minute walk from my house for over 20 years, so it's impossible to count the number of visits ^ ^ I come here about once a month, but today I came with three friends after playing golf. The sashimi platter today was a big hit! Well, everything here is great anyway ^ ^ I really regret forgetting to order the crab cream croquettes that I always get. They are mostly made with snow crab, and the cream is a little bit of crab cream croquette, highly recommended. The grilled dishes are also delicious. Today's grilled silver cod in Kyoto style was about twice as thick as in a regular restaurant, about 4 centimeters thick, and came out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! The chopsticks of all four of us came out at the same time, so there was no time to take a picture. I usually keep a record of what I eat, so I don't take good pictures and often forget to take them, but it really is delicious.

I went to the restaurant with my child for the first time in a while because my family didn't have dinner due to a reunion. I was worried if I could get a reservation the day before, but it was okay. We arrived at 4:00 PM and started with a toast with a draft beer. The sashimi platter arrived promptly since we had pre-ordered it, and the simmered whelk was tender and delicious. The corn tempura had a thin and crispy coating, and it was excellent. The classic fried horse mackerel and crab cream croquette had consistently good flavors. The local sake, Tatsunokuchi and Hitoroki, were perfect. However, I noticed later that I had not requested a bottled beer, so I will deduct 0.5 points. The food and service were excellent. A while ago, I received a call from the restaurant, and they said they would give me an extra bottle of beer on my next visit to make up for it. They must be reading this review. I have updated my rating to 5.0.

As far as I know, there is no other restaurant on the Chuo Line that offers seafood dishes of this quality at this price. The appetizers are all delicious, with four different dishes. Next, they served a sashimi platter for one person, which was enough to fill me up. They also have a wide variety of sake, so I ordered some salmon roe. It must be homemade because it's just right, not too salty. I have to come back again.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, I visited this place for the first time in years and I was so excited. When you come here, there's no choice but to order the sashimi platter, so we ordered one for each person this time as well. The platter was as impressive as ever and it made me happy. All the dishes were delicious, but we had to resist ordering the crab cream croquette because we had plans for a second location. It's a menu item I want to try next time because it's so tasty. You can order one cup of sake each. They have brands like Juyondai, but we didn't order it this time because we wanted to try something else. (It seems they ran out of stock at some point, so if you want to try a rare sake, you should order it early). Toilet information: There are three types - unisex, female-only, and male-only. The female toilet was clean.

There are not many restaurants that serve sashimi in such a generous plate like this. All of them were fresh and delicious, without any fishy taste. They also have a wide selection of drinks such as sake, sour, and beer, which pair well with the fish. It's easy to keep sipping on them.

I visited this friendly and stylish restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Nishi-Ogikubo Station with a same-day reservation. The appetizer that changes with each customer was white miso and scallop string, which were exquisitely delicious and increased our expectations for the main dishes. We ordered the "assorted sashimi," "simmered bream head," "deep-fried octopus," "salmon roe fried rice," and "red miso soup." The "assorted sashimi" was surprising for its volume at 2000 yen, with thick slices of various types of fish including white fish, medium fatty tuna, and sea urchin, all perfectly balanced and satisfying. The "salmon roe fried rice" was a luxurious dish with generous toppings of salmon roe, delivering on both visual appeal and taste. The "deep-fried octopus" was large and perfectly balanced in terms of juiciness, texture, and crispy coating. When we asked for the bill, it turned out to be about 20% cheaper than expected, adding to our high satisfaction level. This restaurant offers a high cost performance and a sense of expertise that makes you want to share with others. I will definitely order the "assorted sashimi" again next time.

If you want to eat delicious fish in Nishi-Ogikubo, this restaurant is famous for its popularity. Reservations are essential on weekends. I was lucky to get a seat at the counter on a weekday. The assorted sashimi is luxurious and impressive. The specialty, crab cream croquette, is filled with a hefty amount of crab meat and incredibly delicious! The grilled scallops were also outstanding, with large juicy scallops grilled to perfection.

I made a reservation for Friday night, but it was fully booked. It was a reunion of four men, but we were seated with plenty of space between the neighboring tables, allowing us to enjoy our meal leisurely. The sashimi and crab cream croquettes were consistently delicious, and we also enjoyed 5 bottles of sake No. 4 at a very reasonable price. I definitely want to visit again.

The appetizers served are different for each person and can be quite satisfying. The salt-grilled shirako is highly recommended. The raw oysters and assorted sashimi are all delicious, and the sake goes down easily. The crab cream croquette has a strong crab flavor that sets it apart from the others.

The food was great, the drinks were great! With the advice given at the time of booking, the sashimi was prepared promptly, and we were able to toast right away! There were many types of sashimi, all of them delicious, truly outstanding. The crab cream croquettes were also excellent! They have a great selection of premium sake, and you can also order by the bottle. Both the food and drinks were enjoyable, I will definitely come back again!

I was introduced to COPAIN Nakano by a lady I met while drinking there. It took me a while, but I finally visited. The sashimi of sardines, raw cuttlefish, grilled shirako, fried octopus... all delicious. I also ordered salmon roe, which I thought would be delicious as it is seasonal. I enjoyed it by putting it on the rice with small dried sardines. I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Exploring Nishi-Ogikubo! The first shop I visited. It opened during the pandemic and seems to be quite popular. Highly recommended are the following: fresh oysters from Akkeshi, salted fish guts, crab cream croquettes (a specialty!), octopus tempura, and plum jelly (a bit fancier than usual). Everything was delicious, although it may be a bit pricey. Thank you for the meal!

I visited after a long time. A friend who used to live in Ogikubo has moved away, so I haven't been here for a while. The delicious sashimi and friendly atmosphere are just as good as before! I finished with ikura fried rice and enjoyed it. Maybe it's because of my age, but I couldn't eat as much as before, and after eating the sashimi, I was quite full. The sashimi even had uni in it, and it was delicious! I wanted to try the ichibo as well, but I was too full and had to give up. I hope to find a reason to visit Nishi-Ogikubo again this year and go drinking.

After trying my luck with a reservation call to the popular restaurant, I managed to secure a spot for 7:00 PM. It was a miracle, considering how busy they usually are. I had already eaten, so I decided to just order a sashimi platter, crab cream croquettes, and ikura fried rice. These three dishes are a must-try here. Next time, I'll come on an empty stomach. The total bill for two people was 9900 yen, paid by card.
