I went to see a Touken Ranbu stage play with a friend who invited me. It seemed like the closing time was near, so they turned away people who arrived after us. It was cold, so I wasn't in the mood for cold sweets, I had apple pie and a cafe latte. I wanted to warm up, but the inside of the restaurant was cold... Maybe they are trying to save on heating costs, but lately it seems like many places are cold. Even though the food was delicious, I couldn't relax and enjoy it. The cake was tasty though. Thank you for the meal.

Cake set for 869 yen. The hot coffee and apple tart coffee are not bitter, but have a sour taste. There was a sign at the entrance of the building saying that today's coffee is from Guatemala, so maybe it changes daily? I don't think there was a menu for today's coffee. The aroma was pretty standard. When freshly brewed, it became very mild and delicious. I believe there were three types of cakes: banana cake, apple tart, and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake seemed to have nuts inside. The banana cake I had before was also moist, with a texture similar to Mont Blanc. The apple tart was full of apples and had a hint of cinnamon. It's nice to be able to see the view of Uji Bridge from the window. There is also a variety of seating options, including counter seats, high chairs, low chairs, and sofas. The coffee was a bit small in portion, but tasty, so I will definitely come back.

I wanted to enjoy some latte art, so I ordered a cafe latte and a BLT sandwich. It was great that they were open early in the morning. From the window, you can see the Uji River and even the iconic Shakyo statue of Uji. (*´꒳`*)

I dropped by on a weekend morning. It is located near Uji Bridge. The window glass is large, offering a view of the Uji River. According to the website, the owner created the interior of the shop from scratch. The tables are close together, making it difficult to maintain privacy. I ordered an iced cafe latte and butter toast. The iced cafe latte seemed to have a special focus on coffee, as there were bags of beans displayed on the wall near the register. The types of beans available that day were listed at the register. It was quite delicious. The butter toast was thin. It is served as part of a morning set, but unlike in the Tokai region, it did not come with any additional toppings. If the toast were a bit thicker, it would be understandable, but for the price, it was expensive. It's tourist spot pricing. The taste was average. The website has photos, and other reviewers have posted photos as well, but I was told, "Please refrain from taking pictures. Please delete them." Therefore, I only have an exterior photo.

I went for the first time in 5-6 years. Huh? Was it this expensive before? I was surprised because it was tourist price! The orange juice was over 600 yen, but it was delicious. I think lunch used to be under 1000 yen when I came before, but now just a coffee is 500 yen! Note: Coffee...hmm. Cheesecake...a bit sour?

It's a cozy cafe where even one person can feel comfortable. The view is great, overlooking the Uji River, Uji Bridge, and mountains while relaxing. The coffee was delicious, with different beans each day. The dishes and chairs are cute, and I could feel the attention to detail in the interior. The large windows may make it a bit hot in midsummer, but in mid-September, it was a pleasant place to be. I think it's perfect for a break in between sightseeing. ( ﹡ˆoˆ﹡ )

I had the chicken and vegetable curry lunch. It was delicious but quite mild in flavor and the portion size seemed more suitable for women. The coffee was also tasty. It's a nice place where you can relax.

I had a late lunch around 2 o'clock. The interior of the restaurant was extremely clean, not a speck of dust even on the window frames. The BGM was Buddy Guy's intense blues music. It was thrilling.

Next to Uji Bridge, there is a café where you can relax and enjoy your time even during busy tourist seasons. It might be a hidden gem in Uji! ☕️☺️

I visited a cafe in Uji for sightseeing. It is located about a 5-minute walk from JR Uji Station and Keihan Uji Station. The cafe overlooks Uji River, which is lovely. The cafe is on the second floor, and when you enter, you will find a bright and cozy interior with various seating options. I ordered a hot coffee and a delicious-looking banana cake from the menu. The coffee was a bit pricey at 500 yen, but it was worth it as it tasted great. The coffee beans used were from Nicaragua. The banana cake was moist and slightly warm, with a strong banana aroma. I enjoyed the delicious coffee and cake, and the atmosphere was welcoming with a mix of locals and tourists. I recommend this cafe for a relaxing break during sightseeing.

I was surprised by the latte art on my cafe latte. I ordered a cake set with cafe latte and banana cake for 930 yen. The banana cake was warm and had a texture similar to chiffon cake, not dry like pound cake. It wasn't overly banana-flavored. Overall, it was just an average cafe.

At the foot of Uji Bridge is the abc Cafe. Located on the second floor of a brown building, the abc painting on the window serves as a landmark. The Nordic living space features chairs of various shapes and vibrant green accents. A stock of firewood sits at the feet, while a red-hot fireplace warms the counter area. The open layout takes advantage of the riverside location, offering views of the flowing river. The wall shelves are filled with a diverse selection of books, from paperbacks to magazines. On this day, I chose a hot coffee made with Nicaraguan El Quezal beans, known for their rounded acidity. It's rare to find specialty coffee in Uji, making this a precious relaxing space in the area to enjoy a book and unwind.

I went to Uji and visited Byodoin Temple, then stopped by "A.B.C Cafe" for a little break before heading back. It's located on the 2nd floor of a building near Uji Bridge. The cafe has full windows with a nice view, cozy sofas, and a relaxing atmosphere. There's even a fireplace, perfect for staying warm in winter. I had a cafe mocha for 550 yen, while my friend had a cake set. Since it was late afternoon and not crowded, we could enjoy a quiet and leisurely time there. Address: Uji Myoraku 175-1, Uji Riverside Building 2-B, Phone: 0774-20-1728, Hours: 8:00-20:00, Closed on Fridays.

When I went cycling with my girlfriend to Uji, we stopped by this restaurant for lunch, which was recommended by an acquaintance. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of a building right in front of the Uji Bridge. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, and the owner has personally designed the interior, which impressed me a lot. The owner seemed to have worked on it mostly by himself, which was amazing. It's a small and comfortable cafe where you can relax and stay for a long time. We visited the restaurant after exploring the Uji area in the morning and feeling hungry, but we had to wait quite a while for our lunch to be served, as there were only two other customers. We had corn soup while waiting, which was delicious. It took more than 30 minutes for the main dish, a small hamburger, to be served with cold side dishes. Unfortunately, the portion was not satisfying, and the sauce tasted like thickened tonkatsu sauce. The amount of rice was also small. However, the coffee after the meal was delicious, as expected from a cafe. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, but I hope they can improve the food quality. Overall, it's a typical cafe lunch that may be satisfactory for women and older customers.
