During the summer campaign, I tried the coffee jelly at a coffee shop that looked like a dessert. I was expecting a bitter taste for adults, but it turned out to be creamier and sweeter than I thought. It's so sweet that even elementary school kids could enjoy it. The jelly is soft and breaks apart easily as you scoop it with a spoon. Although it came with a straw, I didn't need it until the very end when I had to drink up the cream and crushed jelly. Recommended for those who like sweet treats!

I had some errands nearby and decided to take a break at Porta. It was a Saturday during a long weekend, so the area was crowded with people. I had to wait outside with about 5 other groups before finally getting inside. I ordered a cheesecake and an iced coffee. Among the cheesecakes I've had recently, this one was the most delicious. The turnover at the shop was particularly good that day, with one group leaving and the next entering almost immediately.

I had curry pilaf. It was simple but the deliciousness was addictive! There was Worcestershire sauce on the table, so I tried sprinkling a little on the curry pilaf, but it ended up tasting like the sauce, so I preferred it as it was. But maybe I should have put Worcestershire sauce on it? They only had craft beer. I would be happy if they also had Sapporo, Asahi, and Kirin. It was Italian? (pasta like Napolitan) but the sauce coated the pasta well and was delicious.

During the Gion Festival season, I have been going to Inoda to cool off for over 20 years. The festival center is at Shijo Karasuma. Since the streets are crowded, I walk through the underground mall at Shijo to Inoda located in the basement of Daimaru for a break. I like the sight of water droplets on the glass provided with the first serving, a sign of the heat. Today, after finishing some errands at Kyoto Station before heading back, I suddenly thought of stopping by the store in the underground mall Porta. I decided to buy that glass as a souvenir. I already have the ashtray and original cup from before, so I went for the last remaining glass displayed in the entrance window. Inside the store, I was guided to a large triangular table that can accommodate around 10 people, even though I was alone and had it all to myself with no sharing. I usually order black coffee, but this time I went for Inoda's original iced coffee with sugar and milk. And the famous lemon pie that I have never tried before, which was displayed abundantly in the showcase, so I decided to give it a try. The coffee had the usual aroma and richness that I enjoy. It was comforting. The first bite of the lemon pie was amazing, with the super fluffy meringue on top that quickly melts in your mouth, followed by the sweetness of the custard and a light lemon scent blending together. Despite being the size of a chiffon cake, it mysteriously disappears in your mouth as you eat it. The coffee would have been fine black, but I wanted to try Inoda's original as well. It was a delightful dish, and I enjoyed it. This would make a great gift as well.

I felt like eating something summery in the afternoon, so I was drawn to the lemon pie shape and decided to enter the shop. I had heard rumors here and there that Inoda Coffee's lemon pie was delicious. Lemon Pie ¥630, Peach Shortcake ¥630. All cakes are priced at ¥630 each. I was captivated by the thickness of the meringue layer...! When I took a bite, I was surprised by how sweet it was. The meringue's power may have something to do with it, but the lemon cream layer underneath wasn't as sour as I expected, with about 70% sweetness and 30% sourness. It was different from what I imagined, but it was delicious in its own way. The gentle sweetness, the fluffy meringue, and the strong lemon flavor all come together nicely. The peach shortcake my companion ordered was absolutely delicious. The peaches were soaked in syrup and sweet, and the balance of sweetness in the shortcake was just right. Personally, I thought the peach shortcake was tastier than the lemon pie.笑

On holiday 1130, waiting for 1 person. Fluffy omurice (¥1,380) with mini salad (¥350). All the restaurants are busy during lunchtime on holidays, but Inoda Coffee has a wait for 1 person. Following yesterday's visit to the main store, I'm at Inoda Coffee for the second day in a row. The omurice here is not like the typical cafe-style omurice, it's more like what you'd find at a Western-style restaurant. The salad is delicious as always.

During Golden Week, there was a wait of about 4 groups when I went back home. The iced coffee was ¥690, fruit sandwich ¥930, pork cutlet sandwich ¥1210, and a bowl of pasta ¥1000. The sandwiches and pasta were delicious, and the coffee was strong and bitter, perfect for waking up!

Inoda Coffee - I'm not sure if the main store is better. The egg sandwich, cafe au lait, and bread are a bit dry. The amount of egg is not that much. I also tried the cheesecake, but it doesn't really go down well with a fork. It's an old establishment, so I want to support it, but...

I went to Inoda Coffee. This time, I ordered an iced coffee and added a pudding. The iced coffee has a deep, bitter taste. The pudding is a nostalgic, firm type with a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness in the caramel. It was like an infinite loop of coffee and pudding. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Western food special lunch! 1800 yen (with coffee) I just felt like eating Western food! The rotation is good here. Everything is perfect except for the hamburger! Wonderful!! As expected of Inoda! Inoda has two locations at Kyoto Station, on the north side (here) and the south side (Kintetsu)!

Visit on Saturday, no wait at 18:25, seated with half of the seats empty. Food arrived at 18:28, left at 19:00 with half of the seats still empty. Located about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station. Prices are a bit high, but it's a nice place to take a break. The set of pudding and iced coffee was delicious. The pudding was rich with plenty of caramel, slightly sweet. It was surprisingly filling.

"I thought it might be nice to have something different from pie occasionally." That's what I thought when I tried the lemon-flavored mousse cake from Inoda Coffee this time. In the well-established coffee shop in Kyoto, Inoda Coffee, one of the classic menu items is a lemon pie cake, but on this day in May when I visited the shop after a long time, there was another lemon-flavored dessert available. That was the "Lemon & Cheese Mousse" that I ordered along with iced coffee. The lemon pie consists of lemon-flavored custard on top of pie crust, topped with a fluffy meringue, whereas the Lemon & Cheese Mousse consists of lemon curd on a sponge cake, layered with cream cheese and lemon jelly. The texture is firmer compared to the fluffy pie, and the combination of lemon curd and lemon jelly enhances the unique lemon aroma and acidity. I also ordered iced coffee this time, but considering the pairing with Lemon & Cheese Mousse, iced tea might have been a better choice. The Lemon & Cheese Mousse I had this time is a summer limited cake available from May to August. While the classic menu items at this old-fashioned coffee shop are popular, if you are a fan of lemon flavor, I recommend considering this dessert.

I stayed at a hotel with no meals included, so I came to this restaurant to have breakfast. It was almost full even though it was before 9 o'clock, but luckily I was able to enter smoothly. I chose the set with scrambled eggs and croissant from the breakfast menu. The scrambled eggs were gently seasoned and very gentle on my stomach, which had indulged the day before. In addition to this, you can choose orange juice and your favorite drink. I thought it was a nice breakfast that made me realize that it's also good to go around for breakfast when traveling without forcing myself to choose a meal plan with meals included.

★Kyoto - I went for a snack and tea near Kyoto Station. Inoda Coffee. It was my first time here, except for mornings. It was really crowded. I had the cake set with apple pie, which was okay. It was to my liking. The lemon mousse was also good. The coffee, as expected, was delicious. The cakes were also good. Since this branch is near the station, it was quite noisy. I recommend the main branch or the one in Daimaru.

It is a well-known old coffee shop in Kyoto. I bought a Sakura Mont Blanc and a Rum Rock. The Sakura Mont Blanc has a 4-layer structure with matcha sponge at the bottom, pink cream and sakura bean paste in the middle, and sakura-colored chestnut paste on the outside. It's a cake that feels like spring. The Rum Rock has a sponge with a strong rum flavor, chocolate cream inside, and is coated with chocolate on the outside. I like rum, so this one is great (laughs).

I had breakfast in Kyoto for the first time in about 5 years. Last time, I visited Inoda Coffee at Hachijo-guchi because the Porta store was under construction. This time, during my stay in Kyoto for about ten days (working remotely on weekdays), I went to the Hachijo-guchi store for breakfast at 8:10 am, but it was already full with a line outside. The Porta store opens at 8:30 am, so I moved there and waited a bit. There were about 5 or 6 people waiting on the bench outside the store (not the store's bench, but the one set up at Porta), and it was hard to tell if they were waiting for the store or not. Just before opening, they started organizing the line, and I was about the 10th person to enter. Without hesitation, I chose the Kyoto breakfast set and started my day with determination to work hard. By the time I finished my breakfast and left the store, it was still about 80-90% full (considering a single person using a table for two as occupied). Is the Hachijo-guchi store crowded just because it's directly connected to the station? Thank you for the meal.

I always end up going to Inoda Coffee. Their cakes are also very delicious. This time, I had the seasonal chocolate cake, which had plenty of liqueur-soaked cherries inside. It was a subtly sweet and elegant cake with a sophisticated adult taste. The Western dishes also looked very appetizing, but I was too full this time, so I'll look forward to trying them next time. A cafe where you can enjoy your time. I ordered the same thing multiple times but never get tired of it. Today I had French toast and shrimp pilaf. The pilaf had a rich buttery flavor and was delicious. The French toast was ordered by my elderly mother and she seemed very satisfied.

The restaurant opens at 8:30 in the morning and closes at 20:30. It is a place known for its delicious coffee. I had the fluffy omurice for 1,380 yen, which was served with coffee. The staff is very polite and asks if you would like milk or sugar with your order.
