This is a yuba (tofu skin) cuisine restaurant located on the restaurant floor of Isetan, forming the terminal of Kyoto Station. I recently had the opportunity to have a meal in Kyoto after a long time. Lately, whenever I visited Kyoto, I would only go to pay respects at a grave and then head back without exploring the city. But this time, I stayed overnight in Kyoto and decided to stop by for a meal, feeling a bit excited about it. I arrived at Kyoto Station by Shinkansen a little before 11:00 and headed straight to this restaurant. Since I had made a reservation in advance, I was able to smoothly enter in the order of my reservation as soon as the restaurant opened. (By the time I left the restaurant, there were quite a few people waiting outside as well.) I decided to order the mini kaiseki set meal that I had reserved in advance. Also, even though it was still lunchtime, I ordered a bottled beer (825 yen) to enjoy. - Mini Kaiseki Set Meal: 4,180 yen The beer arrived, and I started with the mini kaiseki set meal. First, there was the U-no-Hana dish, which had a nice dashi flavor. This was followed by a starter with simmered dish, miso-grilled tofu, yuba, nama-fu, and awa-fu, really bringing out the Kyoto vibe. The tofu was rich and delicious, and the simmered dish had a good dashi flavor without being too strong. Next was the steamed yuba, served individually in a bucket. It was delicious on its own and also paired well with ponzu sauce. The portion was quite generous, and I was satisfied with the yuba. Then came the yuba tea custard, which was really delicious with a rich dashi flavor. I felt like having some sake. The deep-fried tofu was also tasty. For the finale, I had rice with beans, red miso soup, and pickles to finish off the meal. Lastly, I had soy milk pudding with black syrup. I enjoyed a lot of soy-based dishes, including tofu, yuba, and more. Despite eating quite a lot, I didn't feel too guilty as it had a healthy image. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal from noon. Thank you for the delicious meal.
