Kyoto Kyoto souvenir Togetsukyo Bridge Restaurant Arashiyama A shop where famous stores in Kyoto are gathered, with dozens of tourist buses parked, and this whole area feels like a collection of shops. It is the largest souvenir shop in Kyoto. "Arashiyama Limited Arashiyama Rusk Set (Matcha, Hojicha, Wasanbon)" 1,620 yen. I bought it as it is a popular product sold exclusively in Arashiyama. Rusk is a confectionery made by soaking various ingredients in bread and baking it in the oven. It was a trend for a while, and now it has become a common confectionery, but there are various types. The classic matcha flavor that is typical of Kyoto. Matcha Rusk with a rich matcha aroma is available here. The hojicha flavor is not very noticeable in the hojicha Rusk, which has an elegant and slightly sweet taste. It is a set of three types of Wasanbon Rusk. Anything and everything is made with matcha, and it has become commonplace. ===========

Rusk is a popular souvenir in Kyoto. I originally planned to buy rusk from another shop, but couldn't find it, so I ended up buying Arashiyama rusk from "Togetsukyo" instead. The location is excellent, right across from Arashiyama Station. They offer flavors like matcha and hojicha. I chose the matcha flavor. They also had a type coated in chocolate, but I went with the standard one to keep the cost down. It's a high-quality product and recommended as a souvenir. It's made with Uji tea base and topped with powdered tea, without using cream to preserve the flavor. Definitely worth a try when sightseeing!

I saw it for the first time. I didn't know they made something like this - Arashiyama Rusk. I like rusks. I'd love to have some Gateau au Lait! It brings back memories (laughs). Speaking of rusks, the last scene of Rascal the Raccoon always makes me cry. I don't know about the living situation though (laughs). Anyway, let's get to the point. I opened the bag while engrossed in reading. Hojicha-flavored rusk, how daring! It's so dark! Is it bitter...? It must be because of the tea. I took a bite while sneakily glancing at Nami's voluptuous body. It's not bitter... but it doesn't have much flavor. Oh, it's sweet after all. But it tastes like matcha. Huh? It's not hojicha flavor? Oh, I see. When I looked at the cross-section, there was a green stain-like pattern. It seems like they soaked the bread a little in matcha. But the hojicha flavor is completely overshadowed. Is that okay? (laughs) It's interesting that it goes well with tea rather than coffee, but it lacks impact. I thought about trying the matcha flavor too, but considering the quantity, it seemed like one per person, so I decided not to. I wish it had a bit more fragrance added to it. It's a bit underwhelming as a souvenir.

There are various Kyoto souvenirs available these days, and I recently received Arashiyama rusk. Until recently, when it came to Kyoto souvenirs, I only thought of nama yatsuhashi. Rusk can be found everywhere these days. Matcha flavor is common, but what about hojicha? When I opened it, I was surprised to see that it was quite dark. After taking a bite, it tasted sweet with a buttery flavor, but it really had a hojicha taste. I had it for breakfast! Thank you for the meal!

I visited Matsuo Shrine in Kyoto for Hatsumode (first shrine visit of the new year). Originally, I planned to drink around Matsuo Station with my friend, but there weren't many options for restaurants. So, we decided to go to Arashiyama Station, one stop ahead, for sightseeing. It was nostalgic! I think it's been about 20 years since I last visited Arashiyama. We crossed the Togetsukyo Bridge and found a food corner attached to the long-standing "Restaurant Arashiyama." I was intrigued by the "Wild Boar Croquette for 250 yen." It was a big size and the flavor of wild boar meat was delicious! We decided to walk around and enjoy sightseeing while eating.

Souvenir Shop Togetsukyo Bridge Kyoto Arashiyama is the name of the shop located in the tourist spot "Togetsukyo Bridge." The location is great, the store is spacious, and they have a wide variety of Kyoto souvenirs. It is operated by Togetsukyo Bridge Co., Ltd. If you have visited this place while sightseeing in Kyoto, you must have come here at least once. After enjoying the climax of autumn leaves in Arashiyama, we explored the area and bought many souvenirs here. We purchased the Arashiyama Lusk Set (matcha and hojicha) for 1050 yen. The original lusk comes in a dignified and sturdy package. Each piece is carefully wrapped, which is appreciated. When you open the package, you can smell the rich aroma of tea. The lusk has a light and crispy texture. It is said to be made from "Mulan's bread." The sweetness of the sugar is also present, making you want to have a drink. They are particular about the "tea" they use, as mentioned on their official website: "For matcha lusk, we use Uji matcha from Kyoto Prefecture, and we sprinkle Kyoto Prefecture ground tea leaves to enjoy the aroma of tea leaves and the flavor of matcha." "For hojicha lusk, we use powdered stems of Kyoto Prefecture-grown gyokuro tea leaves, roasted to create a refreshing and mellow flavor." Additionally, it is stated that "each piece is carefully handmade by craftsmen." I think it would make a great souvenir for those who love lusk. Thank you for the meal.

A couple visited Kyoto and discovered delicious rusk in Arashiyama. Summary: Arashiyama Rusk [Wasanbon] for 330 yen. Six rusk pieces with a diameter of about 50mm and a thickness of 5mm. Crunchy texture with a good butter and wheat flavor, and a nice aroma. The sweetness of Wasanbon sugar smoothly enters and quickly disappears. It's so good that you'll finish it before you know it. Shelf life is about ten days.

I received a souvenir from a friend who visited Kyoto. It is a regular rusk and delicious. There is nothing distinctive about it.

This is a gift I received. It seems to be a souvenir from Kyoto, but when I think of Kyoto, all that comes to mind is Yatsuhashi (laughs). Anyway, I don't have many acquaintances who go to Kyoto (laughs). Well then, let's try it right away! Yaki-hororo... Plain, Cocoa, Strawberry, Matcha. Each one has almonds in it, and personally, I prefer the Cocoa one. The Plain one is a bit bland. The Cocoa one has a nice slightly bitter taste! I'll pass on the Matcha one (laughs). Well, these cookies seem like something you can find anywhere. It's safe and good enough. Thank you for the meal!

"Yakihororo" - airy cookies. The name is interesting, and as the name suggests, they crumble in your mouth. They come in four flavors: matcha, plain, strawberry, and cocoa. My favorite is probably plain because I think cookies like this taste better with a rich butter flavor. I received them as a souvenir from Kyoto. The outer box has "Kyoto" written prominently on it. However, I felt like I had seen them elsewhere and when I looked into it, it seems they are sold as souvenirs from various regions across the country. The "Kyoto" on the box changes to a different place name depending on where they are sold. It's interesting to see this kind of sales method.
