I used a day trip bus tour organized by Hankyu Travel to visit Amanohashidate. We departed from Nagoya early in the morning and made a stop at the Atarashi Konbu Museum in Tsuruga. After a restroom break at the Aya PA, we arrived at the Chion-ji Monju-do parking lot at 11:45. We were guided by the staff from Hashidate Daimaru, who was waiting for us, through Chion-ji Monju-do and arrived in front of the restaurant with the tour group. Our lunch here was "Unishabu hot pot and all-you-can-eat seafood bowl." Although it was a 60-minute time-limited lunch, I decided to finish early to have some free time to explore the area near Chion-ji Monju-do. We received confirmation for entering the restaurant at 11:50 and entered. The lunch venue was on the 2nd floor of Hashidate Daimaru, with a large hall of 160 seats. The tour guests were instructed to sit facing each other at long tables, not side by side. The menu included Uni Shabu hot pot, all-you-can-eat seafood bowl (60 minutes), 7 kinds of seafood rice bowl (salmon roe, crab, octopus, salmon, sea bream, squid, and sayori), all-you-can-eat shrimp, all-you-can-eat scallops, soup, side dish, and pickles. The staff explained the meal while we checked the set meal. The set meal included salmon roe, crab meat, rolled omelet with sashimi on top, and a mini seafood bowl. There were five whole shrimp. Also, there were two mini pots with solid fuel. On the paper-lined hot plate, there was pumpkin, bean sprouts, green pepper, and two scallops. The yellow soup in the individual pot was the Uni Shabu hot pot. The all-you-can-eat seafood included 7 kinds of seafood and shrimp scallops. The guests got up and went to another table where sashimi and other dishes were served. I tried the pre-set seafood bowl first, and it was surprisingly delicious. However, I felt a bit cheated as there was no sea urchin in the Uni Shabu hot pot. The sea urchin was in the soup, giving it a sea urchin flavor. I unknowingly put shrimp into the hot pot instead of shabu-shabu style. The sea urchin soup was rich and tasty, especially the shrimp with the head on was delicious. I ended up not shabu-shabu-ing the mini seafood bowl and just ate it with soy sauce, but the small salmon roe and crab meat were still satisfying. Overall, it was a decent meal, and I also found something interesting called "Shiso seeds wakame" at the souvenir shop.
