Arrived just in time for lunch. Not many customers. Ordered the Yakiniku Don (880 yen tax included). Since the Gorilla Rice, the popular menu item, was not that great last time, I decided to try a new menu item. It was my first time ordering it, but the meat was tender and the harmony of the egg and sauce was good. Mix it all together like a stone pot bibimbap and eat it in one go! It's quite delicious (^^)

I visited after a long time. It was past 12 o'clock, but the restaurant was empty. This time, I ordered the recommended Gorilla Rice Bowl (790 yen including tax). It was a bowl with richly seasoned beef tendons. It was delicious, but I wanted to taste more of the natural flavor of the meat.

First visit. The restaurant was quite empty before 1 pm. I ordered the Black Wagyu Hitsu-mabushi (1480 yen including tax). The meat was tender and the meat sauce was delicious. After eating it with wasabi and other condiments, I finished with a dashi tea pickles. This makes me look forward to trying other menu items as well...

The salad was really delicious and well-balanced! The Gorilla rice was tasty at first, but became hard to finish towards the end. It was heavy and the original garlic sauce was a bit overpowering. It started off good, but I got tired of it quickly. The garlic chips and onion fries were a bit moist. The restaurant is reasonably priced and conveniently located, but it has a very masculine vibe and may not be suited for those who prefer delicate flavors. The overall atmosphere felt a bit oily, making it hard to relax while dining.

At Shijo Omiya, I had a delicious beef rice bowl for lunch. I decided to go with the beef teppanyaki set meal, which came with garlic chips, onion rings, bean sprouts, onions, and shimeji mushrooms. The steak sauce was half drizzled over the meat and the other half served on the side for dipping. The flavorful miso soup and rice complemented the meal perfectly. The restaurant is located on Shijo Street, which is currently bustling with preparations for the Gion Festival. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

They kindly accepted my order even though it was right before lunchtime. I ordered the Gorilla dish. It was surprisingly served quickly and was very delicious with a generous portion. The salad and miso soup that came with it also added to its value. Adding onion fries or garlic midway through changes the taste and makes it even more enjoyable. Thank you for the meal.

While taking a stroll on Shijo Street, I stumbled upon a restaurant called "Meat Dining." Feeling like having some meat, I decided to take a look inside. The prices for steak were similar to a certain popular steakhouse chain. Apart from steak, they also had a variety of meat bowl dishes and set meals. The "Gorilla Rice," a beef tendon bowl, was recommended, but I was in the mood for steak that day. I opted for the filet steak, which was reasonably priced and delicious. It was a satisfying meal.

The restaurant faces four streets, so I've been curious about it every time I pass by. I was especially drawn to the menu item called "Gorilla Donburi." The prices were reasonable, so I decided to visit at last. When I arrived, I immediately ordered the "Gorilla Donburi" without hesitation. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, and the wait time was short. The "Gorilla Donburi" arrived in front of me. It was a local Kobe dish called "bokkake donburi," made with simmered beef tendons and konjac in a sweet and savory sauce. The sweet and savory flavor was just right, and the hot donburi was delicious.

On my first visit, I chose the recommended Gorilla Rice for 680 yen. Despite the menu photo making it look like it might not be very filling, the actual portion was surprisingly generous. The beef tendon and konjac stewed in a sweet and savory sauce was delicious and the rice seemed endless. The toppings of green onions and egg yolk added a nice touch, balancing out the rich flavor. This was really tasty. I don't come to Omiya often, but I would definitely want to come back to this place. Thank you for the meal!

I felt like eating meat and decided to visit this restaurant. There was another meat restaurant next door, but it was full and a bit expensive, so I chose this one instead. Inside, there were mostly people dining alone, which made it easy for me to enter as a solo diner. The staff were very friendly and polite. I ordered a steak bowl or was it a roast beef bowl, it might be a bit much for women, but the portion size and taste were just right for me. It wasn't too heavy. I was very happy that miso soup and salad were included! Especially the miso soup. Personally, I really appreciate it when warm miso soup is served with rice dishes. They also accepted electronic payments, which was convenient.

I was curious about this place after seeing it on Instagram and decided to visit. I splurged on the sirloin steak and added 200 yen to make it a set meal. The sizzling sound from the teppan grill increased my appetite. However, the meat was not as good as I expected. Overall, considering the price, I am satisfied with the meal. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had lunch alone again. I walked east from Omiya Station. I arrived at a meat restaurant. It was quite busy during lunchtime. I ordered the recommended menu, Gorilla Rice Bowl (Tendon Bowl) for 690 yen. It's the recommended dish and the name caught my attention! It's filled with tendon meat, konjac, green onions, and topped with an egg. The egg adds a great touch to the dish! For customers who want to change up the flavor, you can add garlic chips, shichimi (seven spice), black pepper, onion rings, and homemade pickled ginger. I added onion rings, black pepper, and shichimi to enjoy a different taste. It's a menu that you don't see often. If you don't like tendon meat, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you do, you'll love it. Thank you for the meal!

On this slightly chilly day, I visited this restaurant for lunch. I decided to try the "Tare Katsu Don Set (890 yen)" this time. I remember seeing on TV that this "Tare Katsu Don" is a soul food from a certain prefecture, but upon researching, it turned out to be from Niigata Prefecture. I tried using the homemade pickled ginger, garlic chips, and onion fry that were placed on the table. The sweet and savory sauce soaked into the thinly sliced and large pork fry, making it delicious with the rice. It came with miso soup and salad. The lightly breaded and tender pork cutlet was tastier than I expected. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal. On this slightly cool day, I visited this restaurant for lunch. The first time I visited, I tried something called "Gorilla Rice", but this time I went for the "Pork Steak Set (1,180 yen)". The menu had changed and it was no longer a ticket system. I waited about 15 minutes for the food to arrive, but when I saw the impressive steak plate, I understood why. It felt like I was at a steakhouse. When I poured the sauce that came on the side over the meat, the steam and fat were amazing. The thickly cut "Pork Steak" had a texture similar to beef tongue. It was easy to eat without excess fat. The soy-based sauce was a refined flavor that went well with rice. It came with miso soup and salad. It was a hearty meat dish for lunch. There is a large sign that says "Meat Restaurant" right in the middle between Shijo-Karasuma and Omiya, a place that seems to appeal to men. The menu ranges from 690 yen to over 2000 yen. Today, I tried the recommended charcoal-grilled bara-yaki. The aroma of charcoal was very nice, but the meat, which seemed like small cuts in a slightly thick sauce, was a bit disappointing for a restaurant affiliated with Masuichi. It costs 690 yen and up, so it might be just right for salarymen to have for lunch. That was the overall impression and satisfaction level.

For lunch today, I traveled to the area near Shijo Omiya and visited this restaurant for the first time. It is a restaurant for meat lovers, produced by Yakiniku-ya Masuichi based in Kyoto. There was only one customer in the restaurant, so I was a bit surprised, but I bought a meal ticket and sat at the counter. I decided to try the "Gorilla Rice (set 890 yen)" which seemed to be a signature menu. It was served in an instant. "Gorilla Rice" is a dish with simmered beef tendon on rice. You can also order it as a single item, but I chose the set with miso soup and salad. The rice was topped with sweet and savory seasoned beef tendon, and on top of that, there were chopped green onions, seaweed, and egg yolk. The portion was quite substantial. I broke the yolk and started eating. The fatty beef tendon had quite a punch. Completing the meal seemed challenging. There is also a "Buta Gorilla Rice" with sweet and savory pork bowl, but I couldn't figure out why it's called Gorilla. They also have steak and tonkatsu bowl, so I would like to try other menus if I have the chance. For more details, please check out my blog "Kokoromano 'Ma'".

I handed in my meal ticket at 12:37, and finally got my food at 12:58. I had to eat it in a hurry in 5 minutes. I returned to work just 5 minutes before the end of my lunch break. There were empty seats and it wasn't particularly crowded, so it's not really usable for a weekday lunch break. The taste wasn't bad, but it's a shame.

I passed by a casual butcher shop before noon and decided to pop in. They had a menu that screamed "meat and rice!" with items like steak bowls and other meat dishes. This time, I tried the Gorilla Meshi (beef sinew bowl), which had sinew simmered in a rich sauce topped with konjac and a raw egg. Just having a few extra eggs made me happy (laughs). It was delicious with the sauce that made the rice go down smoothly. The side dish in a pot looked like kimchi at first, but it turned out to be homemade pickles. It was red like kimchi, but the acidity was milder and complemented the meal well. I happily finished it all and will definitely come back to try other meat dishes.

Visited in January 2019 with a rating of 3.10 on Tabelog (based on 14 reviews). Located near Omiya Station in Kyoto, "Kyoto Nikudokoro" is a restaurant where you can enjoy various meat dishes such as beef bowls, steaks, and hamburgers. I decided to try the intriguingly named "Gorilla Meshi" (Beef Tendon Bowl) from their popular menu. The ordering system is done through a ticket machine with a touch panel. They have flavor-enhancing items like garlic chips, red pepper, onion fries, black pepper, and homemade pickled ginger available at the counter and tables. The "Gorilla Meshi" arrived on a large tray, topped with plenty of beef tendon, chopped seaweed, green onions, and a raw egg yolk. The beef tendon was simmered in a sweet sauce that paired perfectly with the rice. It was so tender and flavorful that I couldn't stop eating. I tried using the black pepper and pickled ginger halfway through, and it added another dimension to the dish. I might crave this addictive dish again in the future. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Today, I made a fierce attack on Kyoto Nikudokoro, located in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. This restaurant caught my attention because I saw it on a reviewer's visit on Tabelog. The name of the restaurant is quite appealing. They offer a variety of delicious meat bowls and set meals. The interior of the restaurant is stylish, with a black color scheme. I decided to go for the steak bowl with double the amount of meat. The rice portion is customizable, and I opted for a large serving. The steak was cooked rare and had a nice sizzle to it. The sauce was a ponzu with grated daikon, giving it a light and refreshing flavor. The meat was thick and tender, and the overall portion was quite generous. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
