I received a recommendation for the B lunch set. The corn potage was creamy and delicious. The bread included basil bread and baguette, both with a strong basil flavor and a chewy texture. The main dish of white fish piccata was topped with plenty of tartar sauce, making it light and mild in flavor compared to fried fish. The hamburger was finely textured, almost like a paste, and was something I tried for the first time. The crab cream croquette had a rich and firm cream filling, although it lacked a crispy texture possibly due to the sauce topping. The pasta provided was lightly seasoned. Overall, the main dishes were somewhat underwhelming, but the coffee served after the meal was pleasantly bitter and delicious. The price for the soup, main dish, bread, dessert, and coffee was reasonable in terms of cost performance. Although I made a reservation online, the staff seemed confused about it upon arrival, showing a slight lack of coordination. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and provided good service at the restaurant.

This is a restaurant I visit regularly. To get here, you need to take the Kyoto-Joyo Bypass and exit at Uji Nishi, then take Route 24 towards Kyoto city, turning right towards Hidari Motohashi. It's a bit difficult to reach without a car. There is parking space for about 5-6 cars in front and on the side of the restaurant. I usually order the domestic beef cutlet course or the seafood fry course. Since I'm driving, I order a ginger ale as a pre-meal drink. The appetizers are served first, and the presentation is very meticulous. Then comes the soup, which is rich and served with bread. The main course is served at just the right time. You can choose between rice and bread, and butter is served with the bread. The main dishes really bring out the flavors of the ingredients and are delicious. For dessert, the seasonal options are always a delight, with delicate flavors. After the meal, I enjoy coffee or tea, feeling satisfied and full. If you visit in early December, you can order a Christmas cake, which tastes similar to the Shortcake from Posh de Reve Ashiya. The size options are great. The decorations in the restaurant change with the seasons, and the staff provide warm and attentive service. Overall, it's a highly recommended restaurant.

On Sunday afternoon, three friends and I visited the restaurant. It was just before 1:00 PM and there were only two other customers. When we ordered the B lunch, it arrived quickly. The hamburger was delicious and the dessert was stylish.

After my mother's regular check-up, I was looking for a place to have lunch and I found a wonderful bistro in Uji that has been run by a couple for many years! There were several lunch options available! I ordered the Omelette Lunch for 1000 yen (excluding tax) which came with mushroom omelette and crab cream croquette, bread or rice, and coffee or tea. The B Lunch for 1600 yen (excluding tax) included soup, assorted dishes like fish piccata, crab cream croquette, and hamburger, bread or rice, a dessert platter, and coffee or tea. The tartar sauce on the piccata, demi-glace sauce on the hamburger, and the sauce on the crab cream croquette were all delicious and flavorful. I couldn't finish the omelette so my mother helped me out, and it was very creamy and beautifully cooked. The homemade desserts were luxurious and tasty. The chef and the madame were both very friendly, creating a homely atmosphere where we could enjoy our meal leisurely. Thank you for the wonderful meal! (Visited on May 24, 2017)

I have been visiting Bistrot de Bonheur for 15 years now, whenever I come to the Uji-Oubaku area. It is a must-visit place for me. Their lunch menu features cute omelettes and hamburgers that are visually appealing! The dishes are lightly seasoned to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, but the preparation is meticulous and the cooking is skillful. Their dinner menu is even better than the elaborate course meals at high-end restaurants these days. Just like their lunch menu, the dinner dishes are carefully prepared with a gentle and flavorful seasoning that brings depth and richness to the food. The chef, who has a charming smile despite being quiet, and the cheerful hostess run this cozy restaurant. You can enjoy your meal in a pleasant atmosphere while listening to the beautiful BGM playing through the stereo system in the restaurant. It is one of my top 3 favorite dining spots!

This is my second visit (*^_^*). The first time I came, there was a lively group of 7-8 people, so I couldn't enjoy the food quietly, but I was still very satisfied with the beautifully arranged dishes and delicious flavors. This second visit was also at night. I had the course menu again, and it was still great! Both times, I was seated at the back table, which was nice. I realized on my way out that the kitchen is quite visible from the front tables... but still, this is a restaurant I definitely want to visit again.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a child, always with my parents. Now, I bring my own child here. It's been a long relationship. I don't come as often as before, maybe about once a year. The reason I visit this place is because I want to eat their shrimp gratin. The taste seems to have slightly declined over the years, but eating this gratin still makes me happy. Also, I love their cheesecake for dessert. This time, I was surprised to see that your daughter is now working here and has grown up.

I went to have lunch at the long-established bistro "Bonheur" in Uji. The restaurant was spacious and almost full, so I was seated at the counter. I ordered today's A lunch set with dessert and coffee. First, warm French bread and butter were served, heated in a small oven on the kitchen counter. The bread was surprisingly delicious. Then, the main dish arrived on a single plate. It included white fish piccata with tartar sauce, hamburger steak, cream croquette, potato quiche, spaghetti with vegetables, and a cup salad. The aroma of demi-glace sauce was delightful. Although the portions were small, there was a variety of flavors to enjoy. The salad had a typical peppery dressing. The piccata with homemade tartar sauce had a distinct eggy flavor and tasted like flounder. The hamburger steak was topped with demi-glace sauce and had a tender texture. The cream croquette was also covered in demi-glace sauce, giving it a unique flavor. The potato quiche was layered like a mille-feuille and had a familiar taste. The pasta, cooked in a tomato sauce with vegetables, was slightly rich. The bread came with butter in a butter dish, but refills were not offered. For dessert, there were rare cheesecake balls, apple pie, caramel cake, sorbet, and stick-shaped cookies. The desserts, with a wide variety, were delicious, made by a former pastry chef. Finally, I enjoyed a leisurely cup of coffee. Each plate and cup had the restaurant's logo, adding to the traditional atmosphere. Although the one-plate lunch set was not fancy or surprising, the flavors were well-crafted and satisfying. It was a delicious meal. Thank you.

This is a restaurant that has been in business for almost 30 years in this area. I visited with high expectations for the type of cuisine they serve. I went around 7 pm, and there was a fairly spacious parking lot that seemed convenient to use. The interior of the restaurant had bright lighting and tasteful decorations, creating a nice atmosphere. I ordered a hamburger, crab cream croquette, dessert, and two glasses of red wine. While there wasn't a dramatic sense of excitement, you could feel the charm of a Western-style restaurant rooted in the town. The use of demi-glace sauce and scallop tendons was well done, and I believe there would be no one who dislikes it. The dessert platter with four varieties for only 500 yen was a great deal for everyday use.
