I arrived in the city at 2 o'clock on Saturday with the purpose of visiting this place. I was a bit late and couldn't get in on the first try, but I was first in line for the second round. I sat on the sofa and waited. Before 3 o'clock, I was called to the counter. I had a nice view of the cherry blossoms by the canal through the window, creating a great atmosphere. My drink arrived first, followed by the soufflé a little after 3 o'clock. The long-awaited soufflé was fluffy and tasted like pudding when mixed with the vanilla sauce, with an even softer texture. There are various flavors available, but I personally found the vanilla to be delicious enough. It's a good deal to get a drink and soufflé together, and I would definitely order the vanilla again when I come back. The cherry blossom petals were starting to flow in the canal at Okazaki Park, and it was very beautiful.

I finally got to try the cafe corner at Rokusei that I've been wanting to visit for a long time. The souffle here is said to be amazing, and I was able to eat it without waiting. I heard the vanilla flavor was recommended, so I didn't hesitate to order it. I was worried if I could eat a lot, but I finished it easily. The view from the garden was also beautiful, and it was the perfect situation. The freshly made souffle was also amazing.

Nearby Hie Shrine, there is a long-established traditional restaurant called "Rokusei" that opens a cafe from 2pm to 6pm, called "Bekka". Feeling nervous due to the formal atmosphere of the well-maintained garden visible from the lobby, I timidly entered the lobby. The lobby exuded a sense of luxury, and I hesitantly approached the reception desk. I visited around 3pm on a weekday, but the place was already full due to its popularity. After checking in, I sat on the plush sofa in the lobby to wait. While waiting, I placed my order in advance. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I was escorted to the tea room. The lovely space with a view of the garden, reminiscent of a sunroom, had a mix of Japanese and Western atmosphere. This time, I ordered the seasonal chestnut souffle and a blend coffee. The souffle takes about 25 minutes to bake after ordering. As I waited, reviewing the souffle eating manual, the souffle arrived! The plump souffle was larger than I expected! Excited, I followed the manual, creating a hole in the middle and pouring in the chestnut sauce! When I took a bite of the fluffy souffle with the sauce, it dissolved in my mouth, leaving a fine, sweet foam to enjoy! The chestnuts in the sauce added a cozy texture and flavor! As it is a time-sensitive treat, it starts to deflate as time passes. The fleeting treat with a perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture that can only be enjoyed when freshly baked! I was truly moved by what a souffle should be! The coffee paired perfectly with the souffle and was delicious! In the wonderful atmosphere of the traditional restaurant, with attentive service and delicious souffle, I was able to enjoy a luxurious time! Vanilla souffle set for 1300 yen. The atmosphere is stylish and the souffle was delicious with a strong egg flavor unlike any I've had before. However, I felt like the portion size was small and the cost performance may not be great. But the ambiance of the restaurant was really nice, so I would like to go again!

In the past, I was impressed by the souffle I had eaten before. I decided to stop by after work. The location had changed a bit, and the shop had moved to a place where you can enjoy Teoke Bento. It seems like this happened quite a while ago. I feel like visiting when I come to Heian Jingu Shrine. It seems like they open at 2 pm, so I decided to wait for the opening! I was given the menu and saw that they still have the Vanilla Souffle that I love. I decided to order the Vanilla Souffle set. There were about 15 people waiting, so I wondered if I would be able to get a seat. I asked the staff if I could be seated and luckily I was able to. I waited patiently. At 2 pm, I was guided to a table. The shop was still lovely, with a nice atmosphere. After about 20 minutes, the Vanilla Souffle set arrived!! It came with ice milk tea. I enjoyed the fluffy souffle, crushing the crispy top. It was fluffy, hot, and not too sweet. Delicious as always. I hope to try the famous Teoke Bento from Rokusei someday. I'm so glad I came here.

Near Heian Shrine, along the shores of Lake Biwa Canal, there is a long-established traditional restaurant called Rokusei-san, which also has a café. I have been wanting to visit for a while, but due to the current pandemic situation, the opening hours were limited or they were closed, making it difficult to find the right timing. Finally, I was able to visit at 3:30 pm. The café sign was displayed outside. The entrance was impressive, making me a bit nervous. After going through a long process, I entered the modern interior, which was a bit unexpected. The entrance was spacious, and after asking to use the café, I was guided to a lovely room next to the entrance. The room had traditional Japanese fans hanging near the ceiling, blending Western and Japanese styles in a Kyoto-like manner. I was told to sit anywhere, so I chose a seat at the edge of the U-shaped counter. When I placed my bag there, I was gently laughed at and guided to the center of the counter. The menu only had drinks and soufflés, with about 6-7 seasonal options available. I chose a plain soufflé and a drink set. The soufflé took about 15 minutes to bake, so the drink was served slowly. The soufflé was beautifully shaped and looked like a piece of art. A hole was made in the middle, cream was poured in, and then it was gently broken with a spoon before eating. The fluffy texture and lovely aroma were delightful. There were various flavors like matcha, chocolate, and cheese that I would like to try next time. The service from the staff was polite. It's a place I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Today, my wife made a reservation for us to visit the "Terracotta Army and Ancient China Exhibition" at the Kyocera Museum of Art in Kyoto. It was amazing and truly moving. After the exhibition, my wife had planned for us to visit a traditional Kyoto restaurant called "Rokusei." It seemed quite formal and elegant. However, my wife was actually aiming for the café corner based on a recommendation from a friend. The staff at the restaurant were very courteous, greeting us with "irasshaimase" as we entered. We were asked if we were there for a meal or just for coffee. The lobby was spacious and had a calming atmosphere. We were asked to wait on the sofa for a while before being shown to our table. We spent about 20 minutes in the lobby, reminiscing about the Terracotta Army we had just seen. Finally, we were led to our table, which was a luxurious spot next to a beautiful garden. The restaurant was not crowded, and we were given some time to relax even after ordering. It made me realize the importance of taking a moment to pause and appreciate the present. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and soon our orders arrived. My wife had ordered a set of vanilla soufflé and blended coffee, while I had ordered lemon soufflé with pilsner beer. I was unfamiliar with soufflé, but my wife helped me figure out how to eat it. It turned out to be delicious and not as sweet as I had expected. We exchanged our dishes and enjoyed each other's choices. The experience at Rokusei was truly special, from the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left. I visited after 5 years. Despite overcoming the pandemic, the elegant atmosphere remained the same. The souffle I had after 5 years was still delicious and impressive. It was fun. There was a note on the table advising to take photos quickly as the souffle deflates. It was also very kind. The luxurious taste brought back nostalgic memories. I will visit again. Souffle Strawberry for 820 yen, Blend Coffee for 600 yen. This is the souffle. I feel like I've heard of souffle before, but I don't think I've ever tried it. I wonder if the souffle here is unique. It looks like a mushroom or a volcanic eruption with an interesting shape. When you put the spoon in, it's fluffy and soft. It's warm and sweet, very tasty. The strawberry sauce was a bit strange but delicious. The coffee was not good. The menu pages were stuck together, so I couldn't find the alcohol menu or the seasonal souffle menu and panicked. I thought it was a printing error, but when I asked the staff, they were right there, embarrassing. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice. It was a bit of a hassle to take off our shoes.

I visited Yamamoto Menekura for lunch and arrived about 10 minutes before opening time. I waited in the waiting room inside. It was my first time entering right after opening, and it felt like the service was a bit slower than usual because there were other customers who arrived first. (Well, I could pass the time by playing with my phone.) I love seasonal soufflés, and this time I had a chestnut soufflé which I really enjoyed. The adult sweetness of chestnuts made me feel warm and cozy. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is elegant and classy. I wouldn't recommend it if you're in a hurry, but it's perfect for a leisurely break when you have time!

Winter special set with two types of souffle and a drink for 1500 yen. Mini-sized chocolate nut and strawberry souffles. Chocolate nut doesn't go well with souffle. Vanilla might be better. The souffles are egg-rich and on the sweeter side. They are more chewy than airy. The coffee is just okay. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice.

As expected from Rokusai-san, the souffle was exquisite. Although there were seasonal options like chestnut and calvados souffle, I decided to go with the vanilla since it was my first visit. The meticulously crafted, fine-textured dough was truly beautiful. I dare say it was the best souffle I've ever had. The sweetness of the sauce was also perfect, and I finished it in no time. It was a moment of happiness during my journey. I look forward to trying the seasonal menu on my next visit.

Visited Rokusei's cafe with my daughter for the first time. We both ordered for the first time. Vanilla souffle set for 1,320 yen (with tea) and strawberry souffle for 902 yen. While waiting, we decided on our menu. When our turn came, we were called to the cafe and seated at the central bar counter. There were also table seats by the window. Customers were called in order, sometimes at the counter and sometimes by the window. Rokusei's cafe has a cherry blossom tree near the window, and the beautiful cherry blossoms visible from inside were breathtaking during this season. When I said I wanted to sit by the window, my daughter told me to deal with it. We enjoyed the fluffy and beautifully presented souffles. It's a time-sensitive dessert, so we savored it while it was hot. My daughter's souffle was a cute seasonal limited edition. She seemed delighted with the fizzy sound it made. It seems to be popular among various customers, including couples, solo women, and solo men of all ages. I look forward to coming back again. Thank you for the meal.

I went to eat souffle - I chose the limited edition strawberry sauce. It was a yogurt-based strawberry flavored sauce, refreshing and delicious. Since it's a souffle, it doesn't feel heavy even before dinner. The price is a bit high, but it's a fancy restaurant so it's expected. It's not something you can afford to eat regularly. It might be a good idea to treat yourself to something luxurious during a trip, otherwise it might be hard to justify the cost. LOL.

A souffle is a food made by inflating eggs with sugar and delicately baking it to maintain its shape. It's meant to be enjoyed for its fleeting nature and fine, foamy texture. It's like getting angry when high-class shaved ice melts and just becomes ice, isn't it? Since it was featured on "Arashi ni Shiyagare," it seems to have become a popular spot with long lines. But I hope those who come to experience what a souffle is like will enjoy it. I sincerely hope you can savor the luxury of eating this fleeting food in the calm atmosphere of a high-class, long-established ryotei. The classic souffle flavors are plain (vanilla) and chocolate fromage. In addition, there are limited flavors like black sesame, yuzu, and nuts & liqueur (I forgot the name of the liqueur). Since it was my first time, I tried the vanilla souffle, which I could taste the richness of the eggs in. My husband tried the fromage, and he felt the cheese flavor more than he expected. It takes about 25 minutes for it to be baked after ordering, as it is made to order. The souffle set, which comes with a drink, is only available in plain (vanilla). I wish they had a set price for all varieties. I indulged myself once again.

I visited this souffle shop on the third day of my two-night, three-day solo trip to Kyoto for a snack. I arrived 30 minutes before the opening time. The staff kindly asked me to wait inside due to the cold weather. Inside, there were already two people waiting on the sofa next to the payment counter, so I sat next to them. Ten minutes before the opening time, a staff member took our orders, so it's better to decide early. The menu is given to you when you enter the shop. When the shop opened, I was guided to a counter seat. "Rokusei Souffle Cafe Corner Chataniwa" is a souffle shop that operates from 2 pm to 5 pm, established in 1899 as a long-established ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant) called "Rokusei." It takes about 25 minutes for the souffle to be baked after taking the order. This time, I ordered the "Souffle Set (Iced Coffee)" for 1,296 yen. The "Souffle Set" includes a "Vanilla Souffle" and a drink. You can choose from blended coffee, American coffee, iced coffee, hot/iced tea, sparkling wine, or red/white wine. I chose iced coffee this time. Please note that the "Souffle Set" only includes the "Vanilla Souffle," which is the most popular souffle. The fluffy souffle is so soft and delicious that it disappears in your mouth quickly. It is recommended to eat it early as the souffle deflates over time.
