The inside of the store was bright and lively, with a relaxed atmosphere, making it possible to enjoy the meal while feeling at ease. The staff were also friendly! There were various types of dumplings available, so I thought it would be fun to order a variety when coming with multiple people ☺️ It was also nice that the portions were unexpectedly generous. I was able to have a good time. Thank you very much. Itadakimasu.

The popular Tiger Gyoza was bustling as usual, and it had been a while since I dined in at night. They had switched to mobile ordering. I ordered the plump gyoza, spicy gyoza, and chili mayo gyoza. The plump gyoza had a cute and satisfying shape, and it was delicious. The portion of lemon yakisoba and Tiger rice was huge, almost like a challenge menu. It was a great deal for just 1000 yen. The Tiger rice was spicy and had a generous amount of sauce, making it the most delicious dish of the day. The table next to me was a bit too loud with young people having a drinking party, but I felt like I had a good meal with great value.

I went to Tiger Gyoza Kaikan for the first time with my friends and ordered the 2800 yen course with drinks not included. We had appetizers, Yuzu Ponzu and green onion gyoza, Yabure Kabure gyoza, shrimp gyoza, Tiger's famous plump gyoza, and Oil-Blanched Chicken. The dishes came out mostly all at once, so some of the gyoza got cold which was a bit disappointing. The Yabure Kabure gyoza was served on a hot iron plate and was delicious. The plump gyoza, a specialty dish, was also very tasty. The restaurant was crowded so we took breaks in between dishes. We also had shrimp chili, tantanmen noodles, and almond jelly for dessert. Thank you for the meal.

I had some errands nearby so I decided to have lunch here after a long time. It seemed like there were a lot of tourists as the restaurant was almost full and the stairs to the second floor were very smoky, making it hard to breathe. I remembered how long it took for my previous non-gyoza lunch order, so this time I ordered the classic plump gyoza set for 930 yen. The gyoza, packed full without garlic, had a crunchy texture inside the filling which added a nice touch, and as always, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The plump dumplings were like spring rolls with a hint of acidity. Everything else was delicious! I especially liked the Island Chili Dumplings and the Coriander Dumplings. The green dumplings had hardly any meat and mostly green vegetables. The thick skin makes them seem less healthy, but they have a healthy vibe. I'd like to try the black dumplings, but I wonder if they're only available on the evening menu.

We missed out on the pepper buns and are becoming more and more Chinese in our tastes. We didn't have a reservation anywhere, but we figured there would be something interesting in Karasuma. We noticed a big tiger logo at a dumpling restaurant. It was bustling and full of energy, so we decided to go in. It turns out this place is part of the SAI Group too. How extensive is their reach! The first floor had a counter and the second floor had tables. We went upstairs. It was bright and airy with large windows. There were many foreign tourists. Since dumplings are the specialty of this place, we couldn't miss out on them. There were six types of dumplings, and we chose the Tiger's specialty "Puffy Dumplings" with 8 pieces for 1280 yen. The staff warned us that they were big, but we had a friend who could eat a lot, so it was no problem. We also ordered the White Sesame Dan Dan Noodles with a mild level of spiciness for 980 yen. By the way, the spiciest Red Mala Dan Dan Noodles were rated as 3.5 out of 5 for spiciness. Puffy Dumplings: The dumplings were known for their thick meat filling rather than their size. As a result, they tasted more like shumai. I personally prefer dumplings with a crispier texture, so I think the classic pan-fried dumplings would have been a better choice. White Sesame Dan Dan Noodles: Despite being labeled as the mildest option, it was still quite spicy, and I even choked on it once. The balance between the sesame flavor and the spiciness from the doubanjiang was excellent and delicious.

Puffy dumplings are juicy and satisfying, with a variety of textures from the fillings. The spicy Sichuan-style dumplings are quite hot, and the spiciness lingers for a while after eating them, haha. Recommended for those who want to try unique dumplings.

I visited Tiger Gyoza Kaikan in Kyoto for the first time in a while. It was a restaurant I had been to in Asakusa before, and we decided to visit with 6 people for lunch because we knew we could get in.
- Pork and Green Onion Salt Fried Rice: 980 yen
The fried rice had plenty of pork and green onions, and it was delicious! The soup with the egg was also tasty! I was satisfied.

I went to "Tiger Gyoza Kaikan" for the first time for lunch, after having been there a few times for dinner. I regret not coming sooner when I saw the variety of lunch sets on the menu. I ordered the Chinese soba and mini fried rice set for 1000 yen, craving some classic Chinese noodles. While waiting, I saw the "Plump Gyoza Set" that the couple next to me ordered, and it looked delicious. I regretted my choice once again. The Chinese soba that arrived was just like the old-fashioned kind, with the unique addition of wood ear mushrooms and pickled mustard greens. It was light yet flavorful, perfect for today's mood. The fried rice was fluffy and well-seasoned, really tasty. This restaurant never disappoints. I'll try a different lunch set next time.

The portion size is quite large but delicious and reasonably priced. Visited on 2023/02/03. Overall rating: 5 out of 5. Taste ★★★★, Presentation ★★★★, Cost performance ★★★★, Service ★★★★, Atmosphere ★★★. I entered the restaurant as soon as it opened. It quickly became full. I ordered the mapo tofu set meal with small rice and coriander dumplings. People around me were ordering large portions and extra dumplings, so I thought the portion size wouldn't be that big. However, when the mapo tofu arrived, it was about twice as much as I had imagined. I thought to myself, "Oh no! I definitely can't finish this..." The balance of spices and spiciness was very good, making it easy to eat. However, the portion was too much for me, so I asked the staff if I could take the leftovers home. They said it was fine, even if there was a charge for the container. (I was so relieved!) The egg soup, pickled vegetables, rice, and coriander dumplings were all very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had been longing to eat the spicy chicken with chili for a long time, but it never appeared on the menu until I finally noticed it when I visited this restaurant for lunch. I was so happy! I also wanted to try some unique dumplings, so I ordered a slightly spicy and garlicky type of dumplings. The dumplings arrived first, covered with garlic and a hint of spice. They were delicious! Although they didn't taste like traditional dumplings, they were still good in their own way. Then, the spicy chicken with chili finally arrived. The dish was covered with dried chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns, hiding the fried chicken underneath. It is common to eat the fried chicken without the chili peppers and peppercorns, but the flavors had already seeped into the chicken, making it incredibly tasty. It was one of the best Sichuan dishes I have ever had, almost on par with mapo tofu. However, despite being warned not to eat the chili peppers, I couldn't resist and ended up eating too many. My mouth was on fire, and even though I tried to cool it down with cucumber slices, my throat was still burning. Lesson learned – as much as I love spicy food, it's best not to overdo it with chili peppers. I will definitely be coming back for the spicy chicken with chili. Thank you for the meal! (*^^*)

It's been a while since my last visit. It was quite crowded, so I was seated on the second floor. I chose the liver and leek stir-fry set meal for 950 yen this time. It seems that not only Japanese people but also foreigners come here to eat. I could hear what sounded like Chinese voices from somewhere. Perhaps they are tired of Japanese food and looking for the taste of their hometown? After ordering, I had to wait quite a bit. My lunch break was ending soon, so I hurried to finish my meal. The liver and leek stir-fry here is spicy. It has a strong numbing and spicy taste. It goes well with rice, but I wish I could have enjoyed it more slowly. Thank you for the meal.

Pork and wood ear mushroom stir-fry set meal. Today I planned to have coriander dumplings, but a colleague recommended this dish and I changed my mind. What a hearty meal! It may be too much for women, but the flavors are solid. If you want a satisfying meal, the large rice portion is recommended (you might not finish it all). It's really delicious! Next time, I want to try the coriander dan dan noodles or coriander salt noodles...

Today's lunch was at Tiger Gyoza Kaikan. I tried their famous Pukkuri Gyoza set for 930 yen. It came with 6 plump gyoza, egg soup, pickled vegetables, and rice (I chose a medium size). The gyoza had a thin skin and were packed with vegetables and juicy meat. They had a nice crunchy texture as well. I was happy to find out that they didn't contain garlic, which is great for a weekday lunch. They have a variety of gyoza and other menu items, so I would like to try more in the future. Thank you for the meal.

The dumplings were chewy and plump, with a juicy filling that was delicious. The mapo tofu was spicy! It could have used a bit more Sichuan peppercorn for extra kick. The ramen was the level 5 spicy red numbing and spicy sesame paste noodles! My lips started to tingle after a few bites, but I managed to finish it while enduring the heat. It was a welcomed spiciness on a hot day! I bought some addictive frozen dumplings as souvenirs on my way out! Thank you for the meal.

I went to Shijo no Taiga-san. They have various types of dumplings, but their specialty plump dumplings are huge and satisfying with just 3 pieces. They also have shrimp dumplings and recommended dumplings that change from time to time. I only came for a light drink this time, so I didn't eat, but they also have authentic Chinese dishes on the menu. Thank you for the meal.

This is a famous Chinese restaurant located right next to Karasuma subway station, with a fierce tiger as its symbol. They offer 11 different types of dumplings at the "Gyoza Kaikan". This time, I ordered the chewy dumplings and the coriander dumplings. The chewy dumplings were quite filling, even just 4 pieces were enough. The coriander dumplings had a unique flavor that combined well with the meat juice. In addition to dumplings, they also offer dishes like steamed chicken and fried liver that would go well with alcohol, as well as ramen for a satisfying finish. Everything was very delicious. They also have a selection of Chinese beers like Tiger Beer and Tsingtao Beer, as well as Shaoxing wine, perfect for drinking. Personally, I found the Shaoxing wine soda highball to go down smoothly. The interior is spacious, with seating up to the 3rd floor, allowing for a relaxed dining experience.

I had tantanmen for the first time in a while. The menu had a spiciness level written in numbers, and the white sesame tantanmen was at a 1.5 out of 5. It was just right for me, who is not good with spiciness, but I still ended up sweating by the end. There are various types of dumplings, but I tried the plump dumplings that are said to be the specialty of the restaurant. They are quite big, so you have to be careful not to burn yourself with the juicy filling, but it was not a problem. The filling was quite meaty, and it tasted just right with the sauce. It was delicious.

When I passed by the store, it looked very delicious so I decided to go in. I was seated at a table on the second floor. The atmosphere with tiger paintings and ornaments is nice. The Tiger Gyoza-kan's specialty plump dumplings (4 pieces for 580 yen) are delicious even without any sauce. The Roast Beef Sauce-covered Five-Ingredient Soba was also delicious.

Tiger Gyoza Kaikan Shijo Karasuma Store! I went to Tiger Gyoza Kaikan in Kyoto! They have a wide variety of menu items including gyoza, noodles, rice, appetizers, and fried foods! This time, I came to eat gyoza and enjoyed it! See below for my impressions.
Appetizer Platter: Chicken breast with green onion sauce - Delicious! Spicy jellyfish - Moderately spicy. Potato salad - A nice palate cleanser. Yuzu Ponzu Gyoza: Steamed gyoza with lots of green onions, covered in yuzu ponzu sauce. The texture is smooth when you eat it with plenty of sauce! Plump Gyoza: Gyoza with a satisfying bite. When you bite into it, the meat juices overflow, making it meaty and flavorful! The surface is crispy and firm. Black Beef Gyoza: Spicy beef gyoza! Beef gyoza is light and rich in flavor. This visually appealing dish is Shrimp and Shiitake Mushroom Gyoza: Gyoza with a chewy skin that spreads the aromas of shiitake mushrooms and shrimp as soon as you bite into it. Fried Shrimp: Crispy shrimp with coriander, chili sauce, and salt. It's more like Thai cuisine than Chinese cuisine. Thank you for the meal!
