I visited a restaurant where you can eat all the negi you want, and I was excited as I love negi. When I arrived around 12:30 on a weekday, there were already 5 groups waiting outside. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I was seated. The first floor had about 10 table seats, and the second floor had tatami rooms. I ordered the "Pork Kakuni Tororo Gozen" for 2750 yen. Of course, being a negi lover, I loaded up on plenty of negi myself! They served me a large bowl with brown rice and two servings of tororo. I topped it with shredded dried seaweed, raw egg yolk, soy sauce, and shichimi pepper, enjoying the various ways of eating in one bowl. The elegant miso soup, fluffy rolled omelette, and side dishes were all delicious. The portions were generous, the flavors were great, and it was nice to eat quietly while looking at the Takase River flowing nearby. I'm looking forward to trying the Yuba Tororo Gozen next time!

I wanted to eat white rice for lunch, and couldn't decide between Yatagame Gihei or Hirakichi. I chose Hirakichi because the line seemed shorter. I arrived at 12:30 and started waiting in line. There were about 10 groups and 20 people ahead of me. I finally got into the restaurant around 13:30. I ordered the sukiyaki set with extra grated yam and extra large brown rice. It was pretty delicious, I think.

I went after a long time. Everything was delicious. In the past, they used to serve green onions in a measuring cup as a service, but it seems like they stopped doing that. I was looking forward to putting plenty of green onions on my dishes, so I was disappointed. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra if they could bring back the green onions in the measuring cup.

I took this picture and immediately a cute female staff member came over and generously poured plenty of grated yam from a mortar onto the brown rice. Oh, I could feel the deep flavor and grounded deliciousness. Thank you for the meal.

From the hustle and bustle of Kyoto's Shijo Kawaramachi during the Gion Festival, we stepped into a traditional house-style restaurant along the Takase River for dinner. We ordered the Beef and Green Onion Sukiyaki and Grilled Course for 4,400 yen (tax included), which included seven dishes. The appetizers were Green Onion Dip, Simmered Eggplant, and Grilled Local Chicken Tataki Salad. The Deep-Fried Yuba Salad had a nice crispy texture followed by the softness of the yuba. The Grilled Long Yam and Onion had a delicious smoky flavor with a hint of sweetness. The Fried Squid and Smelt was a unique dish with a crispy exterior and a flavorful and sweet interior. The main dish, the Beef and Green Onion Sukiyaki, was generous in portion with a sweet sauce, and the addition of both green onions and sweet onions added a smooth and flavorful taste. The finale, the Tofu and Grated Yam Rice, was a unique dish with a double creamy texture of yam and tofu on top of brown rice. Each dish was delicious, showcasing the flavors of green onions and vegetables, making the 4,400 yen price tag a great value.

I made a reservation a month ago for this day. As soon as I entered at 6:00, the restaurant was full. It was my last dinner in Kyoto. I love green onions, and they were so delicious. The price was reasonable and I left feeling full. I didn't know green onions could be so sweet. The Kujo green onions were incredibly tasty. I had beef hot pot. I love meat, but the onions in the pot were so delicious. After enjoying the good broth from the hot pot, we had porridge. It was so delicious. I enjoyed the food with my eyes and taste buds in Kyoto. I wish time could stop right now.

I initially thought this restaurant was called "Pyonkichi" and was all about green onions! This place is really Kyoto-like, with a serene atmosphere where you can hear the murmuring of the Takase River. The deep-fried tofu chips with green onion miso and shabu-shabu were delicious. The green onion highball is sure to get you drunk!

I had the Chicken Nanban set meal. You can choose between white rice and brown rice. The juicy chicken Nanban comes with a choice of tartar sauce or sweet and sour sauce. I arrived around 11:45 on a weekday and was able to get a seat without waiting, although the first seating was full so I was seated in the second seating area. They also have an English menu available for foreign tourists. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have visited this restaurant about twice before and decided to go back after a long time. I arrived at the restaurant before opening on a holiday, but there was already a line. I wondered if I would be able to get in like the second time, so I waited in the cold for over an hour. The staff kept coming out and asking us to stay in line and not leave the premises, but I couldn't figure out where the premises were. Once inside, there was still a bit of a wait. I had hoped it would be warmer inside, but it was just as cold as outside. While waiting inside, they took our order. After a while, we were shown to a table on the second floor. Despite having plenty of seating, it seemed like they were short-staffed as there were still lots of dirty dishes from previous customers and we were the only ones there. There was no background music, so conversations could be easily overheard. The restaurant's specialty seems to be the towering anago tendon, but the amount of tempura seemed overwhelming and likely to cause indigestion, so I opted for the sukiyaki set. The "Beef Sukiyaki Set" costs 1980 yen, and I added grated yam for an extra 600 yen. The grated yam portion was huge, probably enough for three people. There was also unlimited green onions. The beef sukiyaki was quite flavorful, which went well with the rice. It contained green onions, onions, tofu, and a small amount of shredded konjac. You can choose between brown rice and white rice, and extra servings are free. The side dish was made of okara, and the pickled finely sliced cucumbers with shiso were delicious. The food was quite tasty, but overall, it was expensive. Also, despite seeming to have three floors, the lack of staff and slow turnover rate was noticeable. The service, which seemed friendly during my previous visit, felt more indifferent this time.

I had been interested in this restaurant that I saw on SNS, and since it was close to the hotel, I decided to visit during lunchtime while taking a stroll through the lovely streets. It is within walking distance from the station as well! Although it opens at 11:30, when I arrived around 11:15, there were already a few people waiting in line. Luckily, I was able to be seated on the first floor on my first try! I ordered the Anago (conger eel) overflowing tempura bowl. The tempura bowl was voluminous and impressive when it arrived. In addition to the conger eel, there were various types of tempura such as shrimp, eggplant, carrot, and green onion. I enjoyed adding plenty of Kujo green onions, which were unlimited, to my tempura bowl! The refreshing aroma of the green onions paired perfectly with the tempura bowl. I also had miso soup and small dishes, and I was satisfied with the meal. Since I had been curious about this restaurant, I was glad to finally visit and was satisfied with the experience!

The restaurant specializing in tempura opens at 11:30 and there is already a line. They stop serving lunch around 12:00, so it's quite early. I arrived at 11:20 and had to wait for 1 hour and 30 minutes. I barely made it in time to order the large-sized tempura bowl with 16 different types of tempura. It was delicious and not too heavy, easy even for women to eat. This time, I ordered the largest size called "Unrivaled in the World." If you're interested, give it a try. I also ordered the sukiyaki and tofu with grated yam set meal.

I arrived 30 minutes before the opening time, but there were already about 5 groups waiting in line, which surprised me. However, since the turnover rate of the store is good, it doesn't seem like you have to wait too long even if you come later. I tried the signature dish, Anago Hamidashi Tendon. You can choose from three sizes: large, regular, or small. I chose the small size, which was about 9:1 ratio of tempura to rice. The amount of tempura, such as Anago tempura, two pieces of Ebi tempura, etc., was quite generous, and as a fan of fried food, I couldn't resist. Each piece was delicious, and I felt a constant sense of happiness while eating. ☺️

I had a sukiyaki course and all the dishes were delicious. I especially liked the grilled vegetables. There was grilled onion shochu with the alcohol, so I tried it out of curiosity. It had a unique taste, and I personally didn't like it much, but my friend said it was delicious. The onion shochu was easy to drink and tasty. The price was neither expensive nor cheap, just average.

I thought it was a popular shop that has been around for a long time and has long lines. It was worth researching as a tourist. The staff at the shop were quick and wonderful. I ordered the overflowing tempura rice bowl (regular size). I was hungry so I thought about getting the overflowing large size, but I was surprised by the size of the tempura and rice and gave up... The tempura was crispy without being greasy, and the rice was well soaked in sweet sauce, so I enjoyed it until the end. I was happy that I could put as much green onions as I wanted. The green onions were famous and had a nice crunchy texture! Thank you for the meal.

On Monday around 12 o'clock, I arrived and lined up outside with 20 people. I ended up being the 21st in line. I'm not sure if it was because it's cherry blossom season or if it's always busy, but I waited for about 45 minutes before being seated. I ordered the overflowing mixed tempura rice bowl. When the tempura arrived, it looked amazing and I got excited. I started adding as much green onions as I liked from the container. The tempura was not crispy, and the sauce was a bit less than usual, but the tempura itself was a bit soggy. There were shrimp, conger eel, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, eggplants, and as I continued eating, a lot of white onion tempura came out. It started to get a bit overwhelming and I couldn't finish it all in the end. The amount of rice was normal, but I should have asked for less. The tempura with green onions was a bit too much, I could only handle about 3 pieces. It was too much and it was difficult to finish. The portion size and the Instagram-worthy presentation were very good.

I arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes late at 11:30 AM and there was already a long line! It was clear how popular this place was! I waited for about 40 minutes before my tendon arrived - and it was amazing! I thought I had to pour the grated yam myself, but the staff did it for me as soon as it was served. I chose the combination of grated yam and tuna, and the tuna turned out to be high-quality bluefin tuna. It was incredibly delicious and worth the price! The tendon looked impressive with overflowing anago (conger eel) pieces. The tempura toppings included green onions, nasu (eggplant), shrimp, and more, and they were all very generous in portion! The crispy batter was flavorful and the slightly sweet sauce complemented it perfectly. You can also choose the amount of rice for your tendon or donburi. Overall, it was incredibly delicious and I left the restaurant feeling very satisfied! I recommend arriving early as the line got even longer after I left.

Tonight, I stayed overnight in Kyoto! I searched on Tabelog for a restaurant near the hotel for dinner. I made a reservation at a nice-looking restaurant along the Takase River. It's freezing cold tonight ❄️❄️❄️ and it's even snowing a little. Kyoto's night is so lovely. Now, let's look at the menu. They have a great selection of dishes with lots of leeks! I love leeks, so I'm happy. But since it's so cold today, let's go for a hot pot. "Chicken and Leek Hot Pot" with plenty of leeks and chicken! It warms you up. The broth is delicious. We also ordered grilled Atka mackerel. It has thick, fatty meat. It goes well with sake. The amount of hot pot was quite generous, so I had to give up on trying other dishes. Well, it'll be something to look forward to next time! I sat by the window overlooking the Takase River, and a heron was peeking in. The atmosphere at the restaurant was fantastic. Thank you for the meal.

A restaurant with a great view along the Takase River. The main dishes are various tororo (grated yam) set meals and a generous serving of tempura rice bowl. I had the barley rice with tororo and meat skewers set meal, which came with side dishes and pickles for 2,200 yen. It's a bit pricey for lunch, but considering the location and tourist prices, it's understandable.

Tempura rice bowl for ¥1350. You can choose from small, regular, or large size without any price difference. Green onions for topping are unlimited, and you can have seconds. Arrived right at 11:30 on a weekday. There were about 5 groups ahead of us, but we were able to get in after one round. The first floor has counter seats, and the second floor has tatami seating. The tempura had a strong flavor and was delicious! I'm not a fan of fried food, but I had no problem finishing it! Taste: Excellent, Staff: Excellent, Willingness to revisit: Excellent.

Hama-age Tendon for 1540 yen. There was usually a long line, but today there were only a few people! I quickly found a seat. I ordered the regular Hama-age Tendon instead of the larger size, as it looked like it would be too much for me. The meal came with cold barley tea and a cup of green onions. The couple next to me ordered the larger size and were taking photos of the towering anago (conger eel) saying "Wow, amazing!" I'm glad I didn't order the larger size - it would have been too much for me. The Tendon included shrimp, anago, chicken tempura, green pepper, shiitake mushroom, boiled egg, eggplant, carrot, pumpkin, and mixed vegetable tempura - a total of 10 items. The sauce was sweet and thick, generously poured over the dish. I topped it with plenty of green onions. The dish came with a lot of green onions, which was great for adding extra flavor. I ordered the regular size rice, but found myself running out towards the end due to the generous amount of tempura. The anago was crispy rather than crunchy, and the tempura was also crispy. This might be a matter of personal preference. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Rating: 5.8

I was prepared for a long line, but since it was a weekday, I waited a little inside the restaurant and then went up to the second floor tatami seating area. I ordered the "overflowing" tempura rice bowl, and true to its name, the tempura was overflowing! It came with unlimited green onions, carrots, shishito peppers, shiitake mushrooms, shrimp, and green onion tempura. I ate until I was full. Thank you for the delicious meal.
