The atmosphere of the shop is very local, with an elderly lady at the counter. The bread is simple and affordable compared to newer shops. The croquette bread costs ¥170. The croquette is wrapped in a roll-like dough, making it quite filling. The sauce is only poured on top, but dipping the whole croquette in it may enhance the flavor even more.

After eating ramen, I bought bread here from an old-fashioned bakery. I got a red bean bun (150 yen), a ham roll (100 yen), a chocolate croissant (140 yen), an shrimp cutlet sandwich (270 yen), and a Vienna sausage fry (150 yen). The prices are very reasonable. Each item is wrapped in sweet bread dough and has its own distinct flavor. They taste similar to the bread I used to eat a lot in the past, bringing back nostalgic memories. Eating them makes me happy. (#^.^#)

There is a local bakery run by a lady, who manages everything by herself. The sandwiches are handmade and sell out quickly. Unfortunately, the popular New Bird sandwich was already sold out. I bought some deep-fried bread with Vienna sausages inside and also took home some white bread. As a bonus, I received some candy. I felt like I got a good deal. Recently, they have also started selling rice cakes and dumplings.

Today, I visited a bakery in the area of Shijo-Omiya. It is a reasonably priced bakery located inside the Kanariya housing complex. The shop is run by a mother on her own, and I had visited last month as well. Today, they had the bread I was looking for called "New Bird," which was being sold under the name "Vienna Fry." When I asked to take a photo, the mother rearranged the bread neatly for the picture. I tried the bread as soon as I got home, and she even gave me some candy as a service. The Vienna Fry is a long fried bread with a long sausage inside. The bread was fluffy and the curry inside had just the right flavor. The Sun Rice is a fluffy melon bread. The flavor of the bread was good, and it felt like a simple yet delicious melon bread. Overall, it gave me the impression of a locally-oriented bakery where you can enjoy simple and tasty bread.

I went to a bakery near Shijo Omiya today. It's located on the first floor inside the Kanariya housing complex. The bakery seemed to cater to the local residents of the housing complex, with a cozy atmosphere run by a grandmother and her family. I purchased some bread from there. The affordable prices were a plus. The chocolate croissant had chocolate both on the surface and inside, with a sweet flavor. The germ bread, rich in vitamins and minerals, was only 65 yen and had a nice texture with the germ flavor coming through. The salt sprinkled on top added a nice touch. It's the kind of bakery you'd want to visit frequently if you lived in the housing complex. The affordable prices are a great bonus!

Located in the Rinsoboujo Castle residential area, this bakery offers homemade bread for 270 yen per loaf. They have two types of bread: square-shaped and mountain-shaped. The square-shaped bread is from Yamazaki Bakery, while the mountain-shaped bread is homemade. Each loaf is equivalent to three pieces. The bread has a fine texture, is soft, and has a delightful aroma. The crust is dark and it is slightly sweet. Additionally, they include a piece of candy in the bag when you take your purchase home.

I visited the shop on a regular night. As I was walking through the town, I was intrigued by the fluffy bread on the shelf and couldn't help but enter. The shop had an atmosphere of an old-fashioned bakery in a historic neighborhood, run by a couple. I bought a loaf of bread (270 yen) and a cheese curry bun (140 yen). The bread was made with a traditional hand-kneading method, and it was fluffy, soft, and moist, with a wonderfully gentle and delicious taste that you could savor with every bite. The curry bun was filled with plenty of curry, with a mildly spicy adult flavor that was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I think it's a wonderful shop that I would like to visit again.

I stopped by a small bakery called "Kanariya" near the entrance of an apartment complex next to Mibu Garage, heading north on Ushitora Omiya's Kouin Street. It felt like a local bakery where many neighbors come by, and I saw a few regular customers quickly buying bread and heading home. The owner was a friendly elderly person who was easy to talk to. I bought a Pumpkin Bread for 140 yen, which had a pumpkin cream filling that was not too sweet, more nostalgic. A Potato Bread for 150 yen had a potato salad filling, and a Cheese Bread for 85 yen had a cheese and mayo filling. They also included a candy with my purchase. The bakery had a lot of friendly bread options, and if I lived nearby, I would probably visit just to see the owner. Located at 48-3 Mibu Boujou-cho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, UR City Organization Mibu Boujou 2nd Apartment Building, Phone: 075-811-5333, Open from 8:00 to 20:00, Closed on Sundays.

This is a bakery that Hamachan and Higashino visited on "Gobugobu" in Kyoto. It's located within a housing complex, which is quite rare. The exterior of the bakery is old-fashioned, and inside, there are various sweets and pastries besides bread. The staff and a regular elderly lady living in the complex were happily chatting, and another lady bought a large number of croissants while enjoying a conversation. It seems to be a beloved bakery. Hamachan and Higashino didn't find the yakisoba bread they were looking for, so they had potato bread instead. On that day, they also bought a cream bread. The potato bread was delicious with a crispy crust. They even received some candy as a bonus. They want to go back to buy the yakisoba bread again. Is it rare? Introducing bakeries in Kyoto(o^^o)

Every Tuesday late night, a variety show called "Gobugobu" is broadcasted on MBS Mainichi Broadcasting. On November 12, 2013, they featured a special on Kyoto bread. The hosts, Tokui Yoshiji and Downtown Hamachan, introduced some unique bread shops around Shijo Omiya area, including Maruki Bakery, Kiitos, Kanariya, Panscape Sanjo Store, Denden (Sanjo Shotengai), and Gebeken Izumisakidera Store. Kanariya seems like a minor shop compared to others like Croix-Rousse or Panglossary, so it's interesting why they chose it. Personally, I would have gone to Le Petit Mec "Black Mec" after Panscape, then to "Red Mec" (with Flip up! in between), and finish at "Green Mec" in Tokyo. This might be more intriguing, but they probably focused on local bread shops. Kanariya is a beloved shop in the area, known for their affordable and filling bread, as well as the wonderful owner. The service is friendly and not pushy. They even gave a little extra on this day. Kanariya truly thrives because of this owner. The purchased items were Leaf Pie \90 (delicious and easy to eat), Curry Bun \120 (good with proper curry filling), Cream Raisin \120 (not tasty, too sugary cream), and Ham Bread \120 (decently tasty).

In the back of the housing complex, there is an old-fashioned bakery. I went there early in the morning and saw regular customers buying lots of sandwiches. They have a variety of sandwiches and pastries at reasonable prices and delicious taste. I was happy when they gave me some complimentary cookies when I paid. It's a great local bakery.

I dropped the key to my scooter and had to take the train to work that day. I arrived at Shijo Omiya Station early with plenty of time, so I was looking for a cafe to have breakfast. I couldn't find the cafe I was looking for, but I came across a bakery on the ground floor of a building in a residential area. Since I was running out of time, I decided to buy some bread here and take it to the office. I purchased a curry bread and a taro sandwich. The curry bread had tasty curry inside, and the taro sandwich had a crispy fried white fish fillet which was delicious. The bakery had a variety of sandwich options. The service was polite, the atmosphere was quiet, and the prices were quite affordable. Overall, it's a valuable bakery near Shijo Omiya Station that opens early in the morning.
