I am ashamed of myself for thinking that there are no good izakayas in Arashiyama, a major tourist destination. This place is definitely a local favorite, with a variety of delicious dishes that are perfect for drinkers. There are many other dishes I want to try, but I'll save them for next time. I will definitely come back to this top-notch restaurant when I visit Arashiyama again.

After climbing Mount Atago and getting hungry on the way back, I stopped by this place for a meal after refreshing at Fuufu no Yu. There were 5 people sitting at the counter, but we were guided to a tatami room. We started with a drink to relax. The assorted sashimi platter, seared bonito, simmered eggplant, pickled radish, beef sinew, shrimp and asparagus spring rolls, pork kimchi spring rolls, deep-fried tofu in broth, and fried chicken were all delicious. Everything tasted great, especially the deep-fried dishes. I particularly enjoyed the miso-flavored dish. And when it came time to pay, I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal! (•́✧•̀)

Located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Arashiyama Station, this rare fish-focused izakaya stays open until around 11 pm in the neighborhood. My friend and I enjoyed various sashimi, grilled fish, tofu dishes, and chicken karaage, all of which were delicious. They had over 10 types of Kyoto sake available. The restaurant was run by two men, likely the owner and a part-time worker. Our bill, including 4 servings of sake, came to just under 10,000 yen including tax. They seemed to only accept cash, but we were impressed by the reasonable prices. Overall, we found it to be a very cost-effective restaurant. It was almost full when we arrived around 8:30 pm, so we recommend making a reservation.

It is located right by Hankyu Arashiyama Station. Despite not having an izakaya, I selected this place based on good reviews from reviewers. It seems that it was featured on "Would you let Degawa charge here?" The review mentioned that there are many local customers and it is always crowded, so I made a reservation over the phone. It was smooth and I was able to make a same-day reservation. In short, each dish was very delicious and cheap!!! The interior of the restaurant has about 5 tatami tables (for 4 people each) and a counter with 6-8 seats. The restaurant is run by the owner and his apprentice, and they communicate very efficiently while working. Amazing. [Food] - Braised Pork: Soft and sweet, very tasty. - Rolled Omelette: A must-try! The balance of dashi's umami and sweetness is exquisite!!! Of course, it's fluffy. - Sashimi: Assortment is possible. So fresh and irresistible! - Nikujaga Croquette: Croquette with a Japanese-style dashi-flavored nikujaga, delicious! - Deep-Fried Tofu: A must-try! The crispy fried tofu is excellent! The tofu is also very flavorful. The dashi is strong. - Camembert Fry: Goes well with alcohol. - Finale: Ochazuke: Plenty of dashi, we ordered a lot but everything was delicious and very satisfying. [Drinks] There were many reserved shochu options. Beer is Asahi. Various chuhai options are also available. The service was fine, and it was a place where I felt like I would want to come back. There were indeed many regular customers. I think there are few opportunities to drink in Arashiyama, but if you go, I recommend calling ahead once. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, I went to Arashiyama. I didn't go there for sightseeing, but to visit a shrine with my colleagues. There is a shrine called Denden-gu near Arashiyama. We went there to pray for business prosperity. Of course, praying for business prosperity doesn't mean the company will go bankrupt, it's just for peace of mind. But, our company's performance is not doing so well... Anyway, after visiting Arashiyama, we decided to have a drink on the way back! We ended up at "Akakura" restaurant. It's a small izakaya-style place with counter and tatami seating. Since we arrived quite early, we were the only customers, a group of middle-aged men. We started with a toast with beer to wet our throats. Then, we ordered a sashimi platter. The sashimi that came out was quite luxurious with uni and excellent freshness! "Oh, delicious! This might be a great find," I thought. Next, we ordered simmered pork belly. The melt-in-your-mouth pork belly went perfectly with beer! As we got a bit tipsy, we also ordered simmered tripe and tempura, and switched to sake. We enjoyed local sake while chatting with my colleagues, and left the restaurant in a good mood. The snacks were delicious and reasonably priced, it was a really nice place. I think it's a hidden gem. I highly recommend it! If you have the chance, please give it a try!!!

I have been to this restaurant many times. The food is delicious and the warm atmosphere of the restaurant is felt. It is loved by locals, and not just for tourists visiting Arashiyama in Kyoto. It's a place where you can experience the real local people and atmosphere. The chef is friendly, and the restaurant has a hidden gem vibe. You can enjoy small sushi dishes and daily specials at reasonable prices without any pretentiousness. It's a relaxed and enjoyable place, regardless of age. I feel like going there again.

Arashiyama is a place where most shops close early at night, and there are few casual places nearby to grab a drink. However, a friend introduced me to this place, and I always make a reservation before going. The seating is limited, with a counter and tatami area, so it tends to be full whenever I visit. The deep-fried taro, dashimaki with mentaiko, and other fried dishes are delicious and reasonably priced. They also have a parking lot, which is convenient for when I drive there. It's a precious izakaya in Arashiyama.

I have visited this restaurant several times and it always seems to be quite busy. There are many local customers and a friendly atmosphere. The menu is quite diverse, with classic dishes as well as seasonal options and various Kyoto-style obanzai. Among the typical izakaya dishes, there is a standout beef stew that is surprisingly delicious. Even tourists visiting Arashiyama can experience the local atmosphere here.

I didn't have dinner at the inn, so I searched for a nearby izakaya on the internet. When I went, it was a great choice! The sashimi was delicious. They served me buri and hirame sashimi, and even provided soy sauce that matched each type of sashimi. The sake was incredibly delicious, and I was so impressed that I drank a lot! The owner was also very friendly. Many locals were there, so it's a popular spot among the locals. The price was great too - I ate a lot and drank a lot, and it only cost me 3000 yen per person. In Arashiyama, where many places cater to tourists with high prices, I found a truly excellent restaurant. If you come to Arashiyama, be sure to visit this place!
